Sadly I had to send my 'ride or die' to the Rainbow Bridge. As most of us know this is never an easy decision and anything that can help ease the pain is very welcomed. Dr. Hartle came to my home and her energy was calm & non-judgmental. She was overly generous with her snacks. ZeeZee ate almost her entire bag before he couldn't chew any further. Desert Paws entire staff were very caring & efficient. I love that they gave me a paw imprint, a vile of his hair and a beautiful wooden box with his ashes. Which, I received only 2 days later. When it comes to the incredibly difficult decision to say goodbye to your pet, I can't recommend at home euthanasia from Desert Paws enough. Dr. Erika Hartle was very compassionate and kind during the entire process. She explained each step of what our beloved dog would go through. During the procedure, she offered our pup treats to distract from the administration of medicine, was patient with and caring towards our other dog and family members who were saying goodbye as well, and even treated our pup with comfort and care after she passed. I really appreciated the ability to be with my dog and give her pets and say goodbye during the entire process and after. We also received a paw print and hair clipping as a keepsake, which I appreciated. Desert Paws made one of the worst experiences one could imagine as good as it could have been. Our Boy would have been eleven years old in April, and was  Rescue from PACC in Tucson when he was just four months old.  He was always an Extremely Loving Dog, and Everybody Loved Oliver who always wanted to  play ball.  Unfortunately I could never get him to walk on a lease, making healthcare for him extremely difficult.  We had many moments  of a run away, or carrying him (65lb), cancelled appointments and refusal of care at others. I used this place for my poor old man Rosco, he was very sick with a bad disease and needed to be put to rest. he had been in pain since december and we had done everything in our power to help him. we chose this place for a peaceful in home end of life for him and for all of us. After the vet sedated Rosco, she either didn't wait long enough or didn't sedate him enough, she started pushing in the medicine to stop his heart and he screamed and tried to bite the vet and ripped out his catheter. by the time we laid him back down he had passed. Our other small dog ran to him to see if he was okay after he screamed, she was very frightened. All i wanted was for my boy to be laid to rest Peacefully and this was far from it. i've been crying for four days bothered by the fact that his last moment was painful. How dare you guys. read more

Our 14+ year old pug had come to the end of his life rather quickly after being diagnosed with a collapsing trachea. He was suffering and given his age there was nothing more we could do. We have always been pleased with the mobile service Desert Paws has provide for our fur kids. But it wasn't until recently where they left a lasting impression on us. A couple of weeks ago we had to make the heartbreaking decision to euthanize our eldest family dog of 11 years, Maximus. We had never taken advantage of at home euthanasia but due to the circumstances surrounding Maximus it was our only choice. When the appointment time came, we were visited by Dr. Violetta. We didn't know what to expect at all with the procedure being done at hime, but Dr. Violetta made the process unbelievably comforting. From her professionalism with the process to the warmth and compassion she showed for us and our Maximus throughout the duration, she was truly a blessing to have with us as we said our goodbyes to him. We had to make an incredibly difficult decision to put our beloved dog to sleep after a difficult battle with kidney disease. Our Jackson had already had countless vet visits and he hated going so we couldn't bear the thought of taking him in for this goodbye. I had put in a call to another Vet service that offered At Home Euthanasia prior to finding Desert Paws and I did not hear back from them. Desert Paws called me back within the hour and the representative was so kind and understanding as we asked our questions about this process through tears. We set the appointment for the following day to have a final day with our beautiful baby. When Dr. Aimee Rodden arrived to our home that next day, she was so kind and gentle with our baby. Not to mention with us as we were just a mess. She walked us through the process and gave us the time and space to say goodbye. We never felt rushed. When it was time, our other dog even laid up next to her so peacefully as we said our final goodbye. I can only imagine how difficult it is to walk pet parents through this process but Dr. Rodden does it with such grace. We are so thankful that in the midst of one of most devastating decisions we had Desert Paws and Dr. Rodden through that process. From the first call, they were so compassionate and professional. I don't want to have to use them again anytime soon but I can say that I am happy knowing that they are there for other pet parents going through this difficult process. read more

My family and I have been working with Dr. Martin for years I've had her and the team come out for quite a few house visits for my dogs. They are always friendly, thorough, and you and your pets feel comfortable having their team in your home. My review is for Dr. Elisa Marusich and is long overdue. I am astounded that she went through the "fear-free" training because that is not at all what I experienced with her, nor did my pets. I have a very sweet chi-mix and during her visit, she never once offered her a treat or gave her a pet. I then brought out my Romeo who is can be fearful, however, I told her that he was treat-motivated, but she never once gave him a treat until I brought it up! When she examined Romeo, whom she never tried to garner any trust, I went into the other room when I heard a horrible scream from him through his muzzle - it was very disturbing to me. In addition, she wrote in the chart notes that she was seeing my animals for a "wellness" exam - however, the purpose of the visit was because my little girl broke a tooth and Romeo was having joint pain. Her inaccurate notes caused me an issue with my insurance, I had to call to ask her to properly document the reason for the visit which she did not do...., but luckily I explained the situation with my pet insurance reason and they covered it. I would never recommend her and suggest she stick with euthanasia which is the majority of what she does anyway. I am glad my insurance did cover her services as if she caused me further issues, I would have had to take her to civil court. read more
