I even asked her to travel to the hotel room, which she did without hesitation. I told her the bride's requirements and my likes. Lisa Saechao gets down to every last detail in your hair color, until she gets it perfect. I'm an extremely indecisive individual, I give major props to Lisa for her putting up with me. Basically, I was at the salon from 1:30 -6:40 on Memorial Day and she ended up being the last one to leave the shop. I took the pricier/riskier option by darkening my base color with balayage around 165 depending on your hair type and length. She explained every step as she was painting my hair, felt like I just took Hair Coloring 101 haha. 1st try - I came out blonde for the balyage and dark for my roots. I left and came back because I'm indecisive and want lighter ends. 2nd try - my blonde balyage was lighter, but Lisa suggested to tone it down to the ash blonde color I initially wanted. 3rd try- my ends were ash blonde, but she said it'll look better if I have some low lights in my hair 4th try- it was everything I would have wished for. I didn't know I could've really gotten platnium/ ash blonde ends like that. Lisa will not be satisfied until you're satisfied. I'm excited about my next color treatment with her. I have been in search of a great hair stylist for a while now. This has been hard for me because I am so picky from many years working in the beauty industry. Details moved around the corner from Krazy Mary's this past year and one of my co-workers started getting her hair done by Korynn. Since her hair was looking great I decided to give Korynn a try. When I arrived at my appointment I was greeted by Korynn. One criteria for me is my stylist has to have style. She had tons! Her hair looked great and you could tell she takes pride in her craft. My only concern was how young she was, but within 5 min that concern had faded away. Korynn and I hit it off quickly and I enjoyed hearing about her experience training to be an educator for the salon's color line. Color and cut education is so important for a stylist and I loved that she was so involved with it. I showed Korynn a picture of the color I wanted and asked her to clean up the cut. She loved the color I chose and was excited to use a new red (End result will be a chocolate red) that was added to their color line. I can't express enough how impressed I was with Korynn and her professionalism in knowing what was best for the color process and cut. On top of that she was easy to talk to. When we were done the final outcome was fabulous. The color was amazing and exactly what I wanted, and the cut was perfect. My 5 star rating isn't so much for Details but for Korynn and her services. Melissa never lets me down! I asked her to do my hair for my wedding last fall and like always, she did an amazing job! She came early that morning and gave me a much needed haircut along with a blowout. I wanted my hair down and curled, very natural, and the finished product was gorgeous! I was lucky enough to get an appt on Dec the 31st, the last appt of the day. She was a great listener, compassionate and a consultant. Glynnis Lyons is an excellent esthetician who knows elegant fashion and beauty. Her eyelash extensions are always perfect and she is FAST. I can't stand lying down long for more than an hour, I'm extremely busy, so I appreciate how Glynnis allows me to take a nap and get my lashes done at the same time! This review is for the awesome and highly skilled Melissa S. I am a newish customer and have gone to Melissa 3 times now. Each time I have left very happy with the results. I have long, thick hair and I normally don't get frequent cuts until I am in desperate need. Melissa can usually fit me in quickly. With my work schedule, this is a huge positive for me. For shampoo, haircut and blow dry I pay $50 plus tip and it takes about an hour. I love watching Melissa working her magic, she's so focused. She layers my hair in such a way that my hair falls beautifully when she's done. The blow drying part takes a long time due to my thick hair. Once she's finished, I have a huge smile on my face and am feeling pretty beautiful! Thanks Melissa! The salon is staffed with lots of experienced and talented hair dressers. It is a hip looking place and in a great location. Everyone has always been friendly whenever I come here. My only complaint is that my visit in December I found the salon to be very cold. I just had the most amazing experience with Briana and her assistant Ludi! I wanted to go from a light-medium brown natural hair color to a platinum blond (a task not easily accomplished), but Briana and Ludi enthusiastically took on the challenge! Apparently I have stubborn hair pigment, and the color didn't lift as easily as originally expected, but nothing discouraged these two ladies! They pushed on and made the entire experience fun and relaxing. The new salon location is BEAUTIFUL! Every DETAIL (see what I did there....) was meticulously addressed by Briana and her husband Jay. I came here with a living social coupon and that might be the reason for this experience...but I don't think it would be right reason because they just lost a customer and maybe more after I post this... Now, I feel bad for being one of the few people on here with less than 5 stars for Details, but I just did not have a good experience!! Here's why: 1) Appointment Scheduling - I had my appointment originally scheduled for 2/13. I got a phone call on 2/12 reminding me of my appointment. That SHOULD be a plus, BUT I get a phone call THE DAY OF my appointment saying they had to reschedule because they double booked. Shouldn't they have figured that out BEFORE they called for the reminder the day before!?!? That was inconvenient since I wanted my haircut for an event that weekend, but I let it go since there were such great things on Yelp 2) My haircut - it was short of spectacular...actually short of anything. I showed my stylist a picture of what I wanted (long, V shaped with tons of layers to add volume) and said that I wanted to make my hair have more volume. She gave me a wash and proceeded to spend 45 minutes out of our 1 hour appointment just BLOW DRYING MY HAIR! She then spent the next 15 minutes trimming it, then barely even giving it layers. My hair looked absolutely no different from when I walked in the door...just cleaner. It still laid flat on my head and had no volume whatsoever. 3) The tipping process - This is usually done discreetly...however, I came unprepared (no change...my bad!) but figured that a high end salon would readily have change for me. That was a terrible assumption. There is no receptionist that was at the front desk, so my stylist had to go to another stylist to ask for change. She didn't have it, but asked how much I would be tipping so she could just find the change from the tip. Well, that's just embarrassing since tipping is usually done DISCREETLY! I wasn't going to give her that much just because I wasn't happy with the haircut, but I didn't want to seem like a B, so I said a much bigger number...which the other stylist said loudly enough for EVERYONE in the salon to hear it. UGH. The process was just SOOOOO awkward. I hurried out of there and didn't look back. The 1 star is because I did like talking to my stylist and I didn't want to put her name on here because she was so sweet. The place was also really cute. read more

I recently went here with a groupon. It was a very cute chic salon located in a remodeled Victorian house. My haircut came out pretty decent. The reason for a 3 star is that my stylist was 18 minutes late and seemed rather rushed. I got a "deep conditioning", shampoo, cut, and style in about 40 minutes. Probably the fasted I've ever seen. But I also had water dripping down my face and hair all over my face and neck when I left. They really need to work on customer service. Why offer a groupon and get customers if you cannot give them the attention that would help retain the customer? I had my hair done at Details about a week ago, and I couldn't be happier. Angela did a great job! The building is super cute and in an easy spot to find (with on-street parking available right in front, too....bonus!). The receptionist (I didn't catch her name) was very sweet and made me feel right at home. Sometimes midtown salons can be kinda......snobby. Know what I mean?? But I didn't get that vibe here at all. Angela did a really great job with my cut and color. I loved the color she mixed for me, a warm copper tone, and the cut was exactly what I wanted. She was even able to turn my flat, gross bangs into a super rockin' cut. I'm in love with my new hair! As this was my first visit, I was able to use a LivingSocial voucher and got my cut, color and style for $65.00. But I booked an appt with Angela for November and will gladly pay full price....when you find someone who knows what they're doing, you don't go somewhere else. Its hard to find a great hairstylist so when I found Ashley R. I've stuck with her. I am originally from Sacramento and now live in San Diego but I will only let Ashley do my hair. I've gone other places and came out unhappy...so I can't let a good thing go. ; ) I have really thick hair and I love how she cuts my hair. I also like to change my cut and color often and she is always willing to work with me within reason. AND she makes sure to let me know what is best for my hair...like holding off on coloring my hair so much so I can let it get healthier. I have been seeing Brianna at Details for 3 years. I live in Monterey, Ca and go all the way to Sacramento because she is that good. For the last 6 months I wasn't able to see her and saw two different hair dressers. It really brought home how good she is with hair. She took 6 months worth of pretty terrible color work and fixed it right up. She is always careful about putting too much stress on hair and really takes her time to make sure you get what you want. Brianna is extremely professional and takes pride in her work- a bit of a perfectionist. :) The Salon itself is very clean and well put together. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! I come to Details Salon for two different services. For my eyelash extensions I see Kelly. She is meticulous, takes her time, and is extremely clean. These are really important factors when it comes to finding the right esthetician to perform this kind of service. I started seeing Kelly in August and I have never been unhappy at the end of my appointment. She is so good that even with my busy schedule I always make sure I have an appointment with her every three weeks because she is amazing!!! If you are feeling apprehensive about lash extensions, fear no more, this is your gal! And for all of you with crazy curly hair, I highly recommend Christine! I'm always scared to see  someone new because no one understands my hair, BUT SHE DOES. Before starting Ashley made sure I showed her a picture of how I wanted my hair instead of just diving right in. She asked me about the placement of the highlights, how high up, how much blonde and how I wanted my bangs. Some things I didn't even think about before coming in. I usually show the stylist a picture and they almost always just glance at it and say okay, but Ashley made sure she knew what I wanted. Now, I have colored dark brown Asian hair and I hate how it pulls orange, but she was able to lighten my hair in just one session to a nice ashy blonde without it melting or breaking.
