Open on 1/1/25. Wednesday. Stopped by to see what tickles my fancie and.... ended up getting chocolate croissant, Viennoise - Cream .... and sticky gooey bun. Ate the cream bun, so heavy, filled with fresh cream. Weighted a ton. Always love this store!

This is small and cute bakery tucked in an assuming neighborhood. Everything smelled so fresh and tasted good! The service is very friendly. It has limited seating inside and a few sports outside. They have limited bakery items but everything we ordered was delicious!

This might be Detour Bakery, but it is an intended destination from now on. My first visit came on a solid recommendation when looking for something delicious on a Friday morning full of tasks. I immediately loved the amount of parking and the hours on the window that indicated "730AM-ish to 1 PM-ish!" Warmly greeted by the staff, this southeast Denver authentic French bakery met my expectations and raised the bar. I had trouble deciding what to eat with all of the options prominently displayed and a room that smelled so darn good. Next time I will try the "Peach Thing" that was so appropriately named and looked spectacular. Indoor and outdoor seating, elected inside on a rainy morning. Their loaves of bread & baguettes are inviting (next time), and the open space kitchen yields excellent looks at what is being prepared. I tried an outstanding turkey croissant sandwich, added a fantastic luscious chocolate croissant, and sampled my partner's sticky bun decision (wise one). Plus, they offer soft drinks, which is excellent for those who aren't sparkling water or coffee drinkers.

If you don't come for any other reason, come for the free smells. Everything tastes so good and service is always so friendly

Probably one of the best lattes I've ever had. The spinach ricotta croissant was to die for. Definitely would go back!

Strazza [strah-zuh, strazuh, sträzuh]…read more Noun 1. A concatenation of street and plaza "that connects pedestrians and cars in a safe and flexible environment". (Glendale Cherry Creek Chronicle, 9/13) 2. A creative developer's term for a surface parking lot ringed with restaurants and drinking establishments which happen to connect said developer's two hotels. Aren't new, made up words illuminating? I came across the completely made up word "strazza" in the 'Glendale Cherry Creek Chronicle' when reading about all the new restaurants that have been opening up in Glendale's City Set development. The word strazza sounds vaguely upscale. It's a word which may remind you of a stroll through the Piazza del Duomo while you are devouring biscotti, one after the other. Or perhaps it is a sensual word which, when spoken aloud by the likes of Sophia Loren, will unfurl your flag. Strazza. Where was I? Oh yeah, City Set. Yeah, none of the above dreamy notions will disrupt your visit to City Set. City Set is a very clever way of maximizing the real estate around the parking lot between the Hilton Garden Inn and the Residence Inn by Marriott. The line-up of restaurants and drinking establishments which surround the strazza is indeed impressive and a coup for Glendale: Jax Fish House, Cuba Cuba Sandwicheria, World or Beer, Udi's Cafe Pizza and Bar, and Big Smoke Burger are already bringing in the crowds. And still to open are The Kitchen Next Door and a Native Foods Café. That's a lot of variety which covers not only different tastes but different budgets as well. Smart, very smart. All the restaurants and their patios are adjacent to one other and overlook the parking lot so it kind of feels like you are dining on a public square of sorts, a 21st century commercial vision of an insipid street scene. I guess it's like a food court too, except instead of tables in the middle, one can park a car directly in front of their establishment of choice. If you can't find a parking spot directly on the surface lot, then there is underground parking too which I personally find more convenient than competing for a spot on the strazza. There is a shared valet service available too, but I haven't had the need for it. City Set is A-OK and I'm sure they are going to succeed because they seem to have the right tenant mix, the convenience of parking, are surrounded by the right demographics, and are adjacent to the busiest street in all of Colorado. For me, I'd rather have the real thing, as long as there is valet parking of course. Strazza.

City Set is the latest and greatest piece of the Glendale renaissance. There are two hotels, a…read moregreat mix of sit down and fast casual restaurants, and a Verizon store. Almost everything you need, really. During a recent visit, someone told me that pretty soon this place will be "the next Vegas". Certainly a bit of a stretch, but one day you will be able to stroll with your adult beverage around City Set and over to the Riverwalk that is scheduled to be completed in 2016, I believe. Pretty cool! So why not five stars? Parking. There just aren't enough spaces to accommodate both hotel guests and daily visitors. While complementary valet parking is available (currently the only way to use the parking garage), I'm not going to valet the car just to run in and grab a sandwich or a burger to go. I think even bike racks are limited but perhaps this will be addressed in the future. In any event, City Set is a big boost for Glendale and a fun place to hang out. I'm excited to see what the future holds for this development.

Several of the items are genuinely good. The wine list is well curated, and the cocktail program is thoughtful and interesting. The ambiance is clean, open, bright, and generally inviting - the service matches the quality of food and decor. Everything is as it should be; it is just perhaps not as good as some of its counterparts, Cherry Creek, and for that reason, it excels at having tables open when I have failed to plan properly and need a reservation. I do eat here fairly often, and I can't quite tell you why it is not a 5*, but it's not quite there for me.

Narrative lives up to its name for book club purposes, even if the bookcases turn out to be wallpaper on closer inspection. The food lands exactly where you'd hope for a restaurant inside a nice hotel: polished without pretension. The pork belly sliders read more as pulled pork, tender with the meat, with just a hint of slaw. Olives and almonds rounded out our spread, and were delightful, if a little pricey.

We had an amazing dinner at Local Jones (LJs) at the Halcyon Hotel, visiting on the second night of their new menu, and they absolutely nailed it. Our party of four was impressed from start to finish. The staff was outstanding--knowledgeable, prompt, and attentive without ever hovering. It felt like they truly cared about making sure we had a great experience. The food was excellent across the board. My New York strip was cooked perfectly, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. The rest of our group loved their dishes just as much--the mussels, shepherd's pie, and braised short ribs all got rave reviews. It's not often that four totally different entrées are all home runs, but LJs pulled it off. Great service, great atmosphere, great food. We will definitely make LJs a regular stop whenever we're in Denver. Highly recommend!

The price was a bit high, but the quality of the meal was spot on. I had the seared scallops with celery root puree, pomegranate seeds, cous cous, and toasted hazelnuts. Divine. My husband had the filet mignon with Bearnaise sauce, and roasted potatoes and asparagus. Also amazing. Both dishes per cooked to perfection. All employees were professional and our server was friendly. The atmosphere was lovely--clean, warm, inviting. It was an interesting journey to find the bathroom. It's shared with other parts of the building and was the only thing that needed attending. Four stars for the messy bathrooms, price being quite high, and it was a 2 hour and 45 min dinner. Took forever. I've never had so many glasses of water in my life in such a short period of time. If you can afford it, I would certainly say the food was almost worth it--desserts were just okay, and one of the appetizers was alright.
