It's an OK coffee/donut place. A variety of coffee and tea drinks, bagels, and donuts...not much else. My husband loved the Boston cream donut; rich chocolate and real pastry cream. My New Orleans coffee didn't taste much different from the chain coffee shop that is everywhere. I had the baklava donut that didn't taste like baklava at all...it was soft and fluffy, but with little flavor. read more

Stumbled upon Deviant Donuts as I was grabbing a cup of delicious strong Vault Coffee! Throngs of people were picking up boxes of these delicious treats! I tried Russian Tea Cake donut! Amazing! My sister in law and I stopped in because she wanted to purchase some donuts for her husband. The restaurant was very clean and staff were friendly and professional. I was here about three weeks ago, and the shop was not crowded. We ordered four doughnuts; a boba one, a glazed one, a one with banana filling and bacon on top, and another that had a cookie on top. Additionally, we also ordered a coffee and two hot chocolates. The doughnuts were mediocre, mine had a frosting on it that tasted like it was straight butter, which wasn't very appealing. The coffee and hot chocolates were very watery, and I don't mind that but the place is a coffee shop so I was expecting more. The customer service was also mediocre, the cashier did not seem happy to be doing her job and when we asked what was in a certain doughnut the reply we received was "it's good". If you want to go to a phenomenal doughnut shop try PV Donuts in Providence, RI! The doughnuts are a little pricier but they will not fail you :) read more

The first time we entered the store we were greeted with a guy yelling "No More than Five People!". So we quickly exited the store. We looked on the outside for signs or something to alert us of that and found nothing. Ok I get it , no big deal. But you literally cannot see into the place to keep track of how many people are in there at all. Then we went shopping at another store and tried again, this time peering through the window (how awkward) and saw no one in there so we entered. As we walked in there was one woman and she didn't say hi, she just said "We are out of donuts" and turned around and walked in the back. As my husband and I looked at each other in confusion about 4 people entered the store and nothing was said to them about the 5 people rule. We turned around and left. To me that's terrible customer service and I don't think we will be back. It's a shame. read more

Apparently people love these donuts. Me, I can live without them. Nothing special to these Brioche-style donuts exept the odd combinations. The line is long and I think their self-promotion and location is responsible for that. Many visitors will walk by and see donuts then be drawn in for a "try it out" experience.I found the donuts to be on the small side and there was nothing unique about the flavors. The flavors seemed to blend toghether making a cacophany of taste rather than the individual elements. The pricepoint was out of line for these average donuts you can get most anywhere. We bought the donuts and they basically sat on the table as there was nothing drawing us to them. Not deviant, just trying to be...unsuccessfully. read more

I am a lover of all things baked goods. I had really high hopes for this place, especially considering the $3.50-$4.50 price per donut, but I was repeatedly disappointed in my three visits here. At my most recent visit, my boyfriend and I split the lemon cream, Neapolitan, and gluten free lemon poppy seed. The lemon flavor in the lemon cream tasted like lemon scented furniture polish, the Neapolitan was a plain yeast donut dipped in a plain chocolate glaze, and decorated with white sprinkles and the tiniest bit of freeze dried strawberries. The mousse inside was so whipped, light, and nearly flavorless that I almost forgot to mention it. Lastly, the lemon poppyseed was delightful. It was the second time we had gotten the gluten free donut and yet again it was the best we tasted. My theory is that the fear of a bad texture because of the lack of gluten draws a real focus on the flavor making it the best time and time again. If you're gonna try anything, try whatever flavor is gluten free. At my second visit, we got to try the Star Wars themed donuts. We shared the Boba Fett, the Baby Yoda, the Darth by Chocolate, and gluten free Rebel Alliance. Guess what? Bland, bland, bland, bland. Yet again, the gluten free flavor, the Rebel Alliance, was a delicious almond flavored donut, but the rest were way too simple for the price. Sure, the decorations were cool and all, but flare just isn't enough for two college students paying $4.50 for a yeast donut. At our first visit, we had the Strawberry Milk, which was just like the strawberry frosted donut at Dunkin, just bigger, the Tropical Twist, which has almost no filling or distinct tropical flavor, the blueberry lemon, which was just okay, the Bismark, which was just okay, and two of the Coconut Cream Pie. I was so terribly excited for the coconut cream pie so I got 2, but I could barely taste the coconut flavor at all. I want to love this place. I want to recommend it to everyone I know. I want to be blow away, but time and time again, I was paying nearly $5 for a yeast donut with something fancy on top. read more

The donuts are absolutely delicious. Loved the flavors and ended up getting half dozen and still haven't tried all six. We were very disappointed. At 1:30pm on Sunday of Valentines Day weekend they were almost out of donuts. They are supposed to be open till 5:00 pm. Miss management or a marketing ploy? First time we went in Friday they were sold out. It was around 2:30 but the closed at 3:00. that made sense. The young ladies working did not greet us in any way. Said very little in way of conversation besides the price. I ordered 2 French crullers,, 2 chocolate cayenne, and 2 triple chocolate. 6 donuts 24.95! The cruller was soggy, super sugary, and greasy. My kids and I went here to try their donuts. I was so expecting to give them five stars and I'll explain why I didn't in a minute. First, the positives: the donuts looked amazing. We like that they do themed donuts, which is very fun. Online they looked very creative and yummy. We did not order online, however, and it seems they cater to folks who pre-order online as far as their donuts go. And with online orders you have to order 6 of them. While there were many different donuts listed online, the actual case in the shop was quite small and only a fraction of their online listings were available for in-person customers, which was a bit disappointing. I chose a snowball donut and was very excited, and while the marshmallow filling and the pink coconut on top were good, the actual cake part of the donut tasted bitter and burnt on the outside. Go read my other reviews and you will see that I'm not an overly picky person. But if I pay nearly $4 for a donut, I don't want it to taste burnt. Stars off for that, but stars recovered for having not one but THREE selections of unsweetened iced tea on offer--black, green and hibiscus. The hibiscus was amazing and a lovely surprise that they had it on offer. My son really liked his cookie dough donut and it did smell really good. I'm not sure we would go back, but I guess it's still a fun place to go and try if you're in the area. read more

I went to deviant donuts yesterday and got a blueberry donut and it was the best blueberry donut I've ever had, no exaggeration. It wasn't too sweet and had real fruit chunks. It tasted like real blueberry, not the artificial stuff you get elsewhere. I definitely recommend! read more

You're basically paying for design. I have followed deviant donuts on social media and couldn't wait to get my hands on them. I bought six this weekend, and I was a little disappointed that each donut base is exactly the same. Nothing spectacular. What is unique about each donut is the creative designs. But honestly, once you've had one of them you've pretty much had all of them as the base is the same. I make air fryer donuts with biscuit dough and actually like mine better. I give them an A+ for creativity especially with different themes each weekend but was hoping for a little more variety with the base itself. read more

I'm bummed to give them 2 stars but I feel like it's generous as is. When they were just Vault, I enjoyed their coffee and bagels. When they first started selling donuts, I got them for my kids. They did not enjoy them which I thought was odd but moved on. Now, years later, I stopped by for a bagel & coffee and saw how cute the donuts were so I grabbed some for my kids. The bagel was fantastic, the hot latte was cold and not good, and the donuts were cute but awful. The donuts were dry, hard, full of odd flavors, etc. They're too pricey to not be fresh and good. Also, the cashier wasn't friendly. There's a young woman that would always run the register at Vault and she's super friendly so hopefully she's still there. We'll go back for bagels when the covid mess is done and we can sit inside, etc but won't rush back for donuts. read more

Ordered 3 doughnuts around 2pm. Ordered the blueberry, Boston crepe, and double chocolate. All of the doughnuts were dry/stale. The creme inside the Boston creme had the consistency and texture of a paste and lacked any flavor. 2x Chocolate doughnut lacked chocolate flavor. Blueberry doughnut, although dry, had a delicious blueberry glaze. Even the kids refused to finish their doughnuts. Overall disappointing doughnuts at a premium price (~$3.50/each). Hard to find, no signage on the building. Walked in.. the donuts were poorly displayed in a scratched up plastic case and they looked melted. The staff greeted us, yes, but the vibe in the store was so awkward! The line was strange... I'm not sure what was happening. Maybe the greeting or conversation from the girls behind the counter needed to be more? It was odd. The donuts were packaged in a plastic container which squished the decorated donuts... then why did we come get the donuts if they were going to be ruined with the packaging? My friend and I called them around 1:00 yesterday to see what there guidelines were referring to social distancing and if we were able to go in and choose the donuts or needed to call ahead. The women on the phone wasn't the friendliest and told us that we could come in and choose them ourselves. We drove 45 minutes, got there and walked in and the women said that they had been sold out for a few hours. It was really rude of her to not tell us that, especially driving 45 minutes, getting there, being excited then being told that. I try a different coffee every time I visit. The flavor of the coffee itself is spot on and tastes fantastic. The donuts will definitely hit you like a ton of bricks because they are so decadent, but absolutely worth it. read more
