If you are in search of a large breakfast sandwich look no further. My sister told me to look up this business before we head to San Francisco so we could put in on our list of possible places to visit. One look and I knew I wanted to try it. We came in on a Thursday in the late morning and they had a steady flow of customers. We ordered the following the special breakfast sandwich for me, my sister the same but substituted the type of cheese (which they did happily), and milk and a cookie for my son. Our order was ready in about 10 minutes and we got it to go. There is much of an indoor seating area and it was a little cold to sit outside. Once we ate the food it was very good. I personally didn't care much for the ailoi but other that that it was good. The biscuit was large and flaky, the bacon and egg was perfectly cooked and had fresh slices of avocado. I think if I came back again I'd either get the same sandwich or try one of their amazing looking pastries because so much of it looked tasty. read more

Juice not worth the squeeze, mission abort. Now refund my calories thanks Carrot cake: great consistency, with real carrots pieces inside and zesty icing on top. Or is this normally what carrot cake is like? Spécial sandwich: i got the non-bacon one. So there is a chance that my version is not as legendary as acclaimed. read more

A really great breakfast sandwich! The aioli is so good and unique! It is also so close to the beach, and on nice days like this one you can take a nice short walk and enjoy it there! They also have coffee, juices and baked goods! The kids will love it and it's a great place to start a beach day! read more

If you're looking for an easy grab this is the place. Other than that - not somewhere I'd go out of my way for. Ordered a hot chocolate and it tasted like steamed milk. The coffee was really bland and that's hard to do for coffee. Not a great first impression, but the staff was friendly. This place just wasn't it for me. read more

Devil's Teeth is *good* but not fantastic. The menu is quite limited and the bakery is showing its age. It gets crowded on the weekends despite there being a large parklet outside. I do feel it's a little overrate and over priced. It's not bad, not *great* either. read more

First time here! The line was very long, considering it is a popular place in the city. I ordered the special breakfast sandwich & the first bite in I was going crazy! The Garlic - Lemony taste from the sauce was amazing! Unfortunately, the sandwich got really dry afterwards. Considering it's a biscuit sandwich! I expected the 2 biscuits to be on the side but it's a biscuit sandwich. I also ordered the bacon cheddar muffin. Although, I haven't not tried it. i will definitely try it! read more

Their special breakfast sandwich is labeled special for a reason. The two biscuits with bacon, egg, avocado, etc is to DIE for. Devil's Teeth did not disappoint with their hype. It was a nice Sunday noon busy but a nice stop if for coffee or a pastry in the area. The biscuits I would come back for! Tip: add some hot sauce to the sandwich and it'll elevate the taste. The staff are extremely friendly as they know and I appreciate local SF bakeries that serve their neighborhood customers in mind. I've been putting off visiting Devil's Teeth because it's SO FAR down on Noriega. Finally had the chance to drop by today and Im very glad I did! Shop is small and more of a grab and go setup. They have a variety of pastries that I stared at for a few indecisive minutes before I settled on the bread pudding muffin and the oatmeal cranberry cookie. Cookie was a little too sweet for my liking. Meanwhile, the muffin was amazing - soft, a little chewy, and full of chocolate chips and a layer of nuts in the middle. Delicious! If this bakery was on 24th I'd go every morning, so maybe it's a blessing that it's all the way down near the ocean. read more

The customers tend to be young, healthy folks; stopping by after a bike, surf, or run with friends. The rain and cold and cramp space has no affect on their carefree mood. Everyone is smiling and glowing with endorphins. Such is the bohemian vibe of this place, workers included. chai latte - very popular but I feel it needs more cream cookies - bit crumbly, but I would buy the ginger again apple cake - moist, better than my homemade version cinnamon roll - too oily for my liking coffee cake - excellent, the oatmeal crumble looks strange but was quite good, my favorite beer bacon muffin - full of stuff, my family likes it more than I do read more

Walked up at 9:10am on a monday and I was first in line. The wait went by quick too, about 5-7 minutes for a special sandwich & hot cocoa. I ordered the special sandwich (w/ no bacon). Delicious and so filling, I couldn't finish it in one sitting. The biscuit is soft and the eggs weren't overcooked or dry in the slightest. Only downside here are the prices. Pretty expensive for a biscuit sandwich and for the pastries as well, but not surprising for SF. The apricot sage cornmeal cookie & zucchini fig loaf are great. Perfect for when you're having a sweet craving, but definitely not too sweet. I'd pass on the strawberry basil scone with balsamic drizzle next time. It's not bad, but the drizzle throws me off a bit. Have to say if that's something that sounds right up your alley, get it. It's a nice pastry that's also not too sweet. read more

This was a long awaited visit to Devil's Teeth. While they have more baked goods on their menu, I was there to see if the breakfast sandwich lived up to my expectations! In the outer sunset, I had no issue with parking. As expected, there was a line. Recommendations to go earlier to secure your breakfast sandwich and maybe miss a long line. I met my friend and we both ordered the special sandwich with avo, bacon, and pepper jack cheese. It was certainly a nice size, but not as big as I thought it would be. The biscuit was perfectly flaky and moist, and the bacon was quality. TBH I was a bit jealous of my friend's sandwich as her's looked perfect. When I opened mine it looked a bit disheveled, but there was no disappointment in taste- it did indeed meet my expectations. It is packed with calories, and Devil's Teeth is conveniently located next to the beach. We decided to walk off the calories up to Land's End. This could certainly turn into a nice weekend ritual. read more

My party decided to take a quick breakfast stop at Devil's Teeth Bakery before heading to a Napa day trip. We arrived around 9am on a Sunday morning and there was a line out store. We actually got lucky and found parking almost at the front of the bakery, although I can imagine parking get harder later in the day since you'll have to find street parking. The store is very small and intimate, which is why there most likely will be a line out the door. Besides the area where you order, there are tables along the wall where you can sit and stand. There are also a lot of people who just eat right outside of the bakery. The Special Breakfast Sandwich at Devil's Teeth Bakery is a MUST get item. There are two breakfast sandwiches so make sure you specify you want the "special" version. The differences between the sandwiches are really pepper jack cheese instead of cheddar cheese, the lemon garlic aioli, and the avocado. While the regular breakfast sandwich also sounds good, I think the lemon garlic aioli both really adds to the eating experience. I personally think the $1.25 difference in cost is totally worth it. To my surprise, when we ordered the sandwiches, we were actually told that we would need to wait about 20min for the sandwich (probably because of the amount of orders they're getting). The sandwiches are pretty big, and was plenty of food for my sister and I to share. We also ordered a beignet for each person, since they have $1 Beignet Sundays! The beignets were super warm and fluffy. They basically put them in a bag and throw a bunch of powdered sugar in the bag, so you'll see a lot of people shaking the brown bag cover their beignets with powder sugar (just be careful since it might get all over the place). Overall, I had an amazing breakfast experience at Devil's Teeth Bakery and would definitely try to come back if I'm in the area. Just thinking about the special breakfast sandwich already makes me crave it! The breakfast sandwich is about as good as it gets. It is an exemplary biscuit sandwich and you should get it. It's just so damn rich, but somehow not as heavy as you'd think. I really don't understand how it manages to not just feel like a brick in your stomach cause that sucker is rich. Sadly the tuna sandwich is just alright. The tuna is a tad dry but it's really that it looks kinda meh alongside the excellent breakfast sandwich. read more

Located on Noriega and 46th, this little gem offers one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had! Parking is street/meter. The bakery is tiny, but they have a little outdoor patio for their customers. Pet friendly (patio) and family friendly! They also have a little shelf of books for people to read. I've come here twice so far - Thursday morning at 11 am and Saturday morning at 8 am. The lines weren't crazy for either days. Plenty of parking outside. My bf and I ordered the special breakfast sandwich ($7) which consists of scrambled eggs, pepper jack cheese, avocado, bacon, biscuits, and their special aioli sauce. It is one of the BEST breakfast sandwiches I've ever eaten! It looks like a gourmet breakfast sandwich of McDonalds but it is so filling and good. I ate my Saturday sandwich about 1.5 hr later and it wasn't as good as it is fresh. Definitely recommend eating it first! I've also had their cinnamon roll and it is big - big enough to share. On a windswept rainy Sunday morning, my girlfriend and I made our way through a NorCal winter squall towards the promise of hot coffee and warm pastries. The rain and wind pelted relentlessly until a timely bus picked us up and deposited us at the doorstep of Devil's Teeth Baking Company. In spite of the tempest, the small storefront was nonetheless pretty lively. Patrons filled the sparse counter spaces, or stood tucked away in nooks and crannies, sipping steaming cups of coffee or nibbling away at hot breakfast sandwiches and fresh pastries. It's a simple establishment. A long display case stuffed with many offerings divides an open kitchen from the retail floor. The dark walls and close quarters made me feel like I was in the belly of a New Orleans bar, or a repurposed pirate ship, redirected from high seas robbery to the production of sugary sweets. The Captain behind the counter, named Hope, greeted us with authentic warmth and took our name and order with genuine kindness and patience as we scrambled to take in the many delicious sights and options of the display case and overhead menu, and distill an order. We decided on two breakfast sandwiches (one regular and one Special), a beignet, a Cinnamon Roll, a slice of carrot cake, and a hot coffee. The Special Breakfast Sandwich includes avocado and aioli in addition to the usual fixings; and the bakery serves $1 beignets on Sundays only! Cradling our boxed Cinnamon Roll and slice of cake, while also nursing our cups of hot coffee, we paid and then waited for seating to open up and to receive the rest of our order piecemeal. We didn't have to wait too long to receive our food or a spot. The coffee was, like most dark roasts, simple and pretty one note - but in the end of the day, I think that if there's any acceptable situation for a charcoal-y, chocolate-y dark roast, then it's as an accompaniment to complex sweets. The beignet was served hot in a brown paper bag filled with powdered sugar. This hot little ball of fried dusted dough was pretty perfect. A crisp exterior gave way to a core that was so delightfully and daringly on the threshold of being uncooked. Each bite projected a cloud of powdered sugar into the air that reminded me of the sprays of snow kicked up by a downhill skier (or the white haze surrounding Tony Montana's face after a healthy dose of Colombian nose candy)! Next up were the breakfast sandwiches: a heaping portion of scrambled eggs, perfectly crispy and thick bacon with a cascading avalanche of gooey melted cheese served between two slices of buttery, flaky biscuit. Re the Special: I felt like the aioli and butteriness of the biscuit almost steered the experience into the realm of excessive richness, but I think if you are truly hungry then it walks the line nicely. These would be a great take-away breakfast to go before hitting the highway for a weekend getaway to Shasta or Tahoe. Also, the supreme richness of the biscuits leads me to believe that they would best be enjoyed plain, with a generous spread of Bon Mama preserves. The carrot cake checked all the boxes, but didn't strike me as particularly unique except for the cream cheese frosting, which leans more towards the savory cheese side of the spectrum than the typical sweet frosting. But it was the cinnamon roll that stole the show for me. This sweet serving of confectionary perfection embodied everything to me that makes Devil's Teeth a special place indeed. This cinnamon roll satisfies all of the classic elements - gooey sweetness, rich glazing and buttery cinnamon swirls - while also delivering a new and unique experience. These babies are constructed with an extremely thin, dense, flaky and buttery band of almost croissant-like dough that wraps around and around, sort of like ye olde elementary/middle school snack time favorite: Fruite by the Foote! The delight and anticipation aroused by peeling away the strips and layers of sticky cinnamon goodness was just as rewarding as (and elevated) the bites that followed. This baked good engages your mind and sense of touch as well as your stomach, nose and tongue to create a holistically satisfying and wholly original sensory experience. Tucked away on an understated Sunset strip is Devil's Teeth Baking Company - a rebellious pirate ship paradoxically offering the most traditional of comforts (baked goods and coffee) with a unique, effective, soulful and authentic edge of understated creative eccentricity. I'm really glad that a place like this exists in the Sunset, and I look forward to coming back - rain or shine. read more

OH MY YUM!!! The special breakfast sandwich is sooooo good!! I've had a lot of breakfast sandwiches in my day (I have tried so many in San Francisco and beyond) and I'd say this sandwich is one of my favorites!! The garlic aioli is perfect with the flaky biscuit and avocado. I also love that you can order ahead through their website instead of waiting in line (although I wish you could order coffee/drinks as well). The bakery has wooden seating outside or if you're like me you can take a 10 min stroll to the beach and enjoy your sandwich with a view!! read more

Such a fun fast/casual breakfast-brunch place to come! My boyfriend and I came and got special breakfast sandwiches- bacon, egg, avocado, special aioli all on a house biscuit. I subbed the biscuit out for the house baked sour dough. Yum! A bit pricey for a breakfast sandwich though- $9.50 a pop. We also got a peanut butter chocolate chip cookie as an 'app' so good!! When the weathers nice-grab your sando and walk five minutes and enjoy at the beach! The only reason I knocked a star off was the bathroom is a little sketch. There wasn't soap or toilet paper and it had definitely seen better days. read more

Where do I start? The Special Breakfast sandwich is amazing, super hearty and flavorful. The buttermilk biscuit just melts in your mouth. I was expecting it to be super busy based on all of the reviews (and it being a Sunday), but it wasn't as busy. It probably took about a good 10-15 after ordering to get my food, but everything is made fresh. The employees are really nice too. There's outside seating and inside they have a selection of books you can buy for the cheap. This place for sure is a 10/10 read more

I accidentally ordered to the wrong location through Yelp and when I went through customer service agent they said it was up to the business to agree to issue as refund. The Noriega location refused to issue a refund after I was at the balboa location and paid for a second order. Terrible customer service. Not happy with paying twice. They could have easily issued a refund. read more

This bakery has been a staple on our family walks for years. The breakfast sandwich is hands down the best I've ever had. It is literally my benchmark any time I order from anywhere else, and nothing ever compares. The staff is always friendly and since they still maintain a one family in at a time, it never feels crowded when you're ordering. Just be prepared to wait in line if you get there after 9am. But it's worth the wait! Try to order ahead if you can remember! read more

Nothing like starting your weekend is a bomb breakfast sandwich! It was around 10am on a Sunday and my friend and I decided to swing by for a quick breakfast sandwich. The line was literally out the door, so I knew this was going to be good. We waited maybe 10 minutes or so before ordering. We decided to split the Special Breakfast Sandwich (~$10) which includes 2 scrambled eggs, lemon-garlic aioli, pepper jack cheese, and avocado on a buttermilk biscuit. It also comes with bacon which we opted to remove from the sandwich. We waited another 10 minutes or so before we got our order. The sandwich was delicious! The biscuit was soft, flaky, and buttery. The eggs, cheese, and avocado were solid and the aioli gave the sandwich a nice, unique touch. It was super filling and although they don't skimp out on any ingredients, it was definitely pricy for a breakfast sandwich. It was a good try and I definitely recommend trying it for yourself if you're in the area. read more

I came here and ordered a macchiato(fair warning, I think they serve it sans milk to let you choose your milk choice on the bar off to the side, this shocked me but only cause I wasn't expecting it, and I hate surprises that don't come with confetti) but that wasn't a big deal, then waited for my special breakfast sammich. This thing is a buttermilk biscuit with lemon garlic aioli, 2 eggs, bacon avocado and pepper jack cheese and let me tell you, the flavor profile and combination was and is amazing! I will be ordering this again and again and again.... I only waited about 10 min in a crowded SF eatery to get this, 100% worth it. Devils tooth baking company, top notch! The espresso was extremely good as well, not even a note of bitterness, just strong delicious espresso, and the lovely lady making it was absolutely pumping them out at light speed, so I'm doubly impressed with the quality at the pace she was keeping, I've been in a Starbucks that's dead as doornails quiet/not busy and gotten acrid horrible espresso before, so kudos to the lass off to the left in my checkin photos/posted photos ;) cheers! read more

I bought the sourdough bread in the hope it would taste as good as their biscuits, but could not be more wrong. The bread weighs a ton and requres shark teeths to eat it cold or warm, and a ruminant stomach to digest, Lacks texture, super dense, flavor is not there, a far cry from the What a disappointment a bakery that can't even make the bread right, I will use this loaf at the bottom of the bay as an anchor. read more

Josh surprised us by telling us that the French wine industry is going big on non-alcoholic wines. I bought a can of Vanua Bliss - a Mango flavoured Kava drink - vastly different from the Kava served to me during my 3 years stay on Tanna, New Hebrides (1977 to 1980) which was made by youth chewing the kava in their mouths, spitting it out on to a coconut sheath, then pouring water into it and squeezing it into a half shell of a coconut and cerimoniously handing it to you under the shade of a huge Nambunga tree as the twilight deepened! Such are memories made of. While Kava is not alcoholic, it does have some muscle relaxant properties and give a weird buzz of the tongue. I wish him well in his endeavour to allow the teetotaler community to enjoy the social aspects of drinks with their meals, without worring about the alcohol destroying our brain cell and livers!

While I was waiting for my coffee, a pizza passed by with an incredible aroma. It looked so good that I immediately started looking through the menu. To my surprise, I found many of my favorite dishes on it. As a European, I couldn't help but comment on how much I liked the menu and the overall feel of the place. The food selection, presentation, and attention to detail reminded me of the cafés I enjoy back in Europe. The young woman who served my cappuccino welcomed me with a warm smile and was genuinely friendly, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I came in for a coffee and left excited to return. I'll definitely be back soon to explore the menu and try more of their dishes.

Anyone who grew up with me knows my absolute hankering for sweets. But, since growing a bit older (hopefully wiser) and a bit more health conscious, I've suppressed a lot of my sugary habits... Until now. Oh Lord, forgive me for I have sinned. Even the thought of consuming sweets sends me into a guilt trip. That being said, I have heard so many great things about Devil's Teeth Baking Company and decided to make the trek from SOMA to the outer Sunset District just for this place. And with a name like Devil's Teeth, who wouldn't be slightly seduced? And like the forbidden tree in the Garden of Eden, I knew I shouldn't have been anywhere near it. Oh well! Sometimes you just gotta YOLO it! *throws scruples to the wind* Upon arrival, as I opened my car door, I could immediately smell the aroma of delicious baked goods permeating through the air. It was like a delicate lullaby to my nose tempting me to come closer. God please help me to resist temptation as I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. As I walked into the store, my heart skipped a beat. There they were. Cookies, croissants, cinnamon rolls, danishes and a plethora of other delightful delicacies sat behind the glass display ready to be devoured. I really really really really DO try hard to make healthy choices, but today was NOT going to be that day. The first thing my eyes settled on was a large peanut butter chocolate chip cookie. The angel on my shoulder said not to, but the devil on my shoulder said come on, just try a little. The chocolate chips were so large and numerous throughout the cookie that I was convinced that maybe a small bite wouldn't hurt. Next my eyes shifted to the crumb cake. I grew up eating cheap ol' Little Debbie's and thought that even then, it was the greatest thing in the world. Since those Little Debbie days, I've learned a thing or two about quality and let's just say that this coffee crumb cake had it goin' on in all aspects! Soft, delicately sweet, with a bit of a tart flavor from the rhubarb. Sweet Lordy Jesus. By now I had no conscious at all. Just give me the goodz! I also purchased the cinnamon roll. Words cannot describe what I tasted and felt, but let me go ahead and try. Soft Gooey Sweet Cinnamony Crunchy. You name it. This forbidden "fruit" was better than I had ever imagined. I needed something to wash this all down before leaving, so I decided to go with one of their house made mango juices from the fridge. A perfect way to end such a sugary trip. Prices are a tad high, but for the quality and flavor you get, it is well worth the extra pennies. They have outdoor seating that is great for relaxing with your coffee or pastries, or to even just chatting with your friends. This place is kid friendly and has colorful chalk for children to draw on the city walkways with. They also serve savory dishes, sandwiches and sourdough bread. So, if you aren't in the mood for something sweet, there are plenty of other options to choose from at this bakery. The only excuse I have for going on such a sugar crazed frenzy is "The devil made me do it." Yeah, that's it. I want to start off by giving a heads up to the owners, who decided to open such a fantastic bakery on this street. It is exactly what the neighbor hood needed. The owners are wonderful, always very interested in who you are, and what your about- It makes one feel good to be asked questions- because it shows they truly want to get to know their customers. I have a lot to say about this place.. so hold on to your seats. The staff: About 95% of the staff are sweet, and overly attentive. But lately the same two young girls, have given me less than standard service.. For example, when I came in by myself to get a few things- the young Asian girl with glasses and black hair and another girl with brown hair and blue eyes- ignore me- especially if there is other young men in the bakery. Normally I wouldn't consider this a problem, but it has happened now more than a few times.. It doesn't make any sense to me, because EVERYONE ELSE is SOOO overly nice and polite!??!? BUT I still come here because I love the food and the location.. right by the beach. OK now for the food: In the latest issue of 7x7 magazine that frequents my office... there was an article about the "top 10 places to eat in the outer sunset". What made me SO happy, is that Devil's Teeth scored 2nd place out of 10 for their breakfast sandwich!!! The breakfast sandwich I have had it REALLY good- and then other time disappointing.. but hold on let me emphasize that when its GOOD- its REALLY GOOD. It's a home made fresh biscuit, cheddar cheese, bacon, and what they call their "two egg-er"- which is an enormously sized scrambled egg.. When it's "good" it's due to the perfection of the ratio portion of the bacon, egg, and cheese.. I read in the article that there is to be 3 strips of bacon when in fact... it is ONE piece of bacon folded over. Last time I brought one home for my wife, she opened it up and saw little else but a daunting 4 inch egg-er in the sandwich.. I hate to say this but she just threw the egg to our two labs.. they seemed to like it. it was way too much and over powered the rest of it. But either way I cant deny it is one of my favorite things on their menu. -Pie: The strawberry pie is by far my favorite. Lately they have been doing a strawberry and blueberry blend- which is alright, but my favorite is the plain strawberry! The banana creme pie is second to none and I dream of it often :) -Muffins: My favorite muffin- by far is the black berry muffin.. the blackberry banana is also great as well as the blueberry banana. I can woof down these heavenly muffins in a sitting- that's how good they are. I also highly enjoy the donut muffin, but the fruit muffins are by far the BEST, possibly that Ive ever had in my LIFE! - As far as the rest: The Cheese cake- is AMAZING. I love this little topping they put over it.. its almost like an extra creamy topping.. since cheesecake can b somewhat dry. I love the lemon cheesecake as well. The quiche is AMAZING, the crust is perfect buttery and flaky. Pretty much everything is wonderful. I highly recommend this place! read more

Definitely have to agree with everyone that Devil's Teeth Baking Company is very FRESH! I came in ready to start my morning off with one of their breakfast sammies and the banana blueberry muffins. I have a huge soft spot for breakfast sandwiches. When I saw that Devil's Teeth serves breakfast sammies, I was super excited to try one! I really appreciate that the sammies are made fresh - right after I placed my order I saw them crack the eggs into the skillet. The portions are also huge, but then again the breakfast sandwich was $5. So how did the food taste? Well...I was slightly underwhelmed by the breakfast sandwich. The biscuit was soft and flaky, but the sandwich was dry and lacked flavor. They should add some hot sauce or ketchup on the side. Also, I really wish they put sausage in the sandwich. There are 2 strips of bacon, cheese, and lots of fluffy scrambled eggs but where's the sausage?? The banana blueberry muffin comes topped with whole blueberries baked into a banana bread muffin. The texture of the muffin was a little too doughy and tasted a bit bland. Just an extra hint of banana flavor and these muffins would be perfect! The ginger cookie was delicious!! I wasn't even hungry, but decided to try it anyways and it was yummy! It is about the size of your whole hand (pretty big cookie) for $2.50. There are actual soft ginger candy chunks in it that are sweet/very ginger-y and the cookie itself is a good blend of saltiness and sweetness. Very chewy cookie and did not turn hard or dry out after a day. The staff were very friendly and you can help yourself with some water if you'd like (located at where the sugar/creamer are). There are limited indoor seating and some outdoor seating. I recently visited Devils Teeth and my overall experience was mixed. The first thing that struck me was the extreme wait time, which made me think it must be a popular spot. The place was indeed bustling, which often indicates quality. However, when I finally got to taste their offerings, I found them to be just okay. I ordered a chocolate chip cookie, and while it was decent, it didn't particularly wow me. I thought it would taste a bit more homemade but it tasted like something you get at Safeway, very sweet. The biscuits I tried were a bit hard, even after requesting them to be heated. On the positive side, their beignets were a highlight, being soft and fluffy, and the coffee was passable. Prices are fair. Street parking. Outside seating available. In the end, I'd rate my experience at Devils Teeth a 3/5. It's worth trying if you're in the area and curious about something new, but it didn't leave a lasting impression on me, and I don't see myself going back. read more

I've lived in the Outer Sunset for years and have been to DT many times. This place is quite overrated: the lemon bars are overly sweet, most of the pastries are overpriced to begin with, and the special breakfast sandwich is a mess (seriously, wrapping the sandwich in foil after it has hollandaise isn't a great idea . . . plus it is incredibly small for an expensive sandwich). It certainly isn't very affordable, and many of the positive reviews (and long lines) come from outsiders who drive out here and take photos for Instagram. That is (probably) why the owner supports reopening a small stretch of highway close to the shop that locals have used for fitness during COVID (and needs to remain closed). That isn't the reason for this negative review, but it should serve as a warning that this place isn't a local community hub - it's just popularized by out-of-town, non-local folks. Literally the best gem in San Francisco. It's bittersweet that I had to leave this review because I know how popular this place is already, but now it's gonna be even more popular! This local, neighborhood gem is located in the Sunset area. Only 5 blocks from Ocean Beach! Their bakery is simple and ingredients rich with butter and even more love! When you're here you have to get the breakfast sando. Hammered between 2 flakey biscuits that's more flakey than the people in SF. The ingredients are simple: egg, cheese, and bacon. On Sunday: get the beignets, you wont regret it. They're also famous for their shark cookies. Yes you heard that right... shark. Shaped. Cookies! The cookies are so buttery you'll probably need to run a 5k to sweat it all out. All in all you can never go wrong with a quick visit here. PRO TIP: go in groups so save spots in line. I'm always surprised at why this place has good reviews. Ok- I admit it- I am taking away two stars because the line is ALWAYS atrociously long. But the REASON WHY the line is atrociously long is because their staff is somehow always horribly untrained and slow. Clearly they have bad management issues and a lack of training, as the people are always kind and helpful, they just don't really seem to know what's going on or how to handle customer service issues. Speaking of that, the other star lost is because I've come here approximately 6 times, and at least half the time, they've screwed up my order. (I've also watched them screw up a bunch of other people's orders on a few occasions). For most people, you've waited so long for your food that you are desperate and just take the wrong order. But if you have allergies, this is really not the place for you. read more

I live two blocks away from Devil's Teeth Bakery and always see a long line, so I thought I'd check it out. Since then, I've been coming back here every week to grab a special breakfast sandwich before heading over to do some volunteer work at the San Francisco Zoo. The special breakfast sandwich is so bomb and seems to be one of the most popular items on the menu. I love that everything is homemade. The biscuit for the breakfast sandwich is deliciously flaky and full of flavor. I've also had their apple turnovers, lemon bars, and shark cookies, which are all amazing. Their Thai iced teas are also really good as they aren't overly sweet like most places. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. If you go weekend mornings, be prepared to wait 30 minutes to get your order. It's just that busy in the mornings, but so worth it! read more

This is why I love the city- for its fresh local food and bakery. I came out of my way to try this new place and I was quite impressed with their baked goods. I had the blackberry muffin with FRESH blackberries baked on top and the oatmeal raisin cookie. Both had the right amount of sweetness and yummy taste. And of course I had the famous Blue Bottle coffee to accompany with. However, I was slightly disappointed that they didn't have the banana blackberry muffin, which is really what attracted me here. I give this bakery 3.5 starts for its fresh and innovative goodies. It may not be the most amazing bakery in the city, but it may probably be so in the neighborhood. read more

We decided to check this place out after reading all the great reviews. We were very full after lunch but really wanted to try this place out. Their pastries looked pretty yummy.. They have the usual, bars, scones, cookies, etc.... But the reason I'm not going back is because the young bearded man in the glasses gave us the biggest most unnecessary attitude ever. Order with him if you don't want to piss him off. Apparently he thought the lady at the register was incapable of moving to her right a bit to grab a couple of things for us. The pastry selection is out of this world and if you are not a sweet tooth type of person then you should think about the curry chicken salad or their quiche. I am so happy to have this place in the outer sunset. It is great to bring your kids and either head to the beach or the park with a nice treat in hand. A little tip for your Sunday plans -- $1 beignets at Devils Teeth Baking Co. and yes, they are as good as they sound. We popped in on a Sunday and grabbed some and they were so yummy. What makes them extra special is that they're made fresh to order, so you're getting them hot and perfectly pillowy every time. They're a pretty average size so my advice is to get at least two -- one is just not going to cut it and you'll regret not ordering more the second you finish the first one. At $1 a pop there is really no reason not to. A perfect little Sunday treat! read more
