This gem exceeded my expectations! The service was attentive, the decor inside felt warm and fresh. We started with two cheeses. The Brillat Savarin - French/Cow--triple cream, dreamy and delicious, with hints of mushroom was was amazing! It was served with crostini that was toasted just right and roasted garlic. Next we had a cheddar that was served with cookie butter and additional crostini. That was great too! We rounded out the cheese with the prosciutto which was paired with small pepper drops and cornichons...delicious! We split a bottle of the Onward Chardonnay which was great with the cheeses and prosciutto. It was served well chilled, which I love. For dinner, I had a pasta with salmon, asparagus and cream sauce with the most incredible zing of lemon. I was so, so happy with my dish. My friend had the short ribs with polenta, and she also thought her dinner was delicious! We each had a glass of the Beaujolais, and it was lovely. Overall, everything hit high marks, and I couldn't believe the quality of entrees that came out of a wine and cheese place. I was only expecting appetizer-like small plates. We LOVE this darling establishment! Our first meal there was the Valentine's Day prefix menu and it was to die for - greens with caramelized fennel and pancetta with red wine vinaigrette, crab stuffed homemade ravioli with lemon burre blanc sauce, petite filet mignon with asparagus and a crispy twice baked potato, and a lemon tart (or chocolate) for dessert. We ordered the wine pairing as well. I can honestly say it was one the the best meals I've ever eaten - and we're pretty big foodies. I don't even like steak and it was phenomenal. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Sooo good. The wine pairings were excellent. I was sold on this place with that one meal, but what's even better than the food and wine is the service and attention to detail. They ensure customers are comfortable and warm on chilly evenings. They provide just the right amount of attention to our party. Kevin and Leona are so welcoming and personable. Since then, we've been back to celebrate my 50th birthday and we've taken my in-laws there to celebrate being with them after a year of quarantine. I think people like to review this place cause it's clearly well thought out and is clearly a passion for the owners. Great staff, lots of care and attention to detail. The appetizers and entrees blend ingredients and techniques that taste amazing and unique. Can't say I've tried much, but they inspire confidence. They deserve to become the go to neighborhood restaurant. The wine and cheese options are selected by a skilled aficionado and they pair them well with breads and something to spread on them. I'm kinda ignorant with cheese lists but there's was easy to navigate and I liked how they were all affordable and priced the same. It made it easier to focus on what was most desirable to us, rather then debating in my head about whether the higher cost cheese was really worth it. I hate to end on a negative cause I loved the place but they could use some expertise on the beer choices. I don't think that's there expertise. I didn't mind but some beer lovers would feel overlooked. read more

We went here a couple of months ago for a date night. We sat outside and we really loved the ambiance. The waiter was fantastic. He was very friendly and extremely helpful with pairing the cheese and wine. I'd have to say the meal wasn't very memorable. It was a bit pricey for what we got. The asparagus soup was very bland and the cheese board was just ok. I don't think I would go back, but If I did I would go there for a slice of cheesecake! Decided it was time for a girls night and upon looking for a place to eat we decided why not a Wine Wednesday here? We arrived around 7:15pm and it was not busy at all. Although the area around it was pretty empty, the restaurant was decorated very cute and centered in a quieter area of downtown SJ We opted to sit outside although the interior was very comfy and intimate. However, the patio at night was gorgeous with the string of lights and candles. When it got cold the heat lamps were turned on which made the experience extra toasty. We ordered a washed rind(Mahon Reserva), soft-ripened(Fromager d'Affinois Double Creme), and semi-firm (Challerhocker) cheeses. At first, I was a little taken by surprise by the price of $7, but many of the cheese offerings are imported so it made sense. However, once we saw the serving that it was 1 oz. we felt that we should have ordered more cheese. We also ordered the Prosciutto di Parma and duck prosciutto. All the cheeses were delightful and came with a pairing of selected nuts and fruit. The soft-ripened cheese tasted exactly like butter and the semi-firm cheese tasted like swiss cheese but more smooth. The washed rind was also unique with a subtle smoky flavor and spices. The Prosciutto di Parma was fatty with a mild saltiness. The duck prosciutto was absolutely delicious! This was probably my favorite part of our charcuterie board because of the oily, fatty texture and salty, gamey flavor. I hope they continue to carry this menu item. Unfortunately, we did not try any of the larger plates, but we will be back to try them another day. As for drinks, we had a Reisling blend and a syrah blend which were both great pairings with our meal. The menu of wine was small but had many international selections. Our server was incredibly kind and knowledgeable about the wines and cheeses. Based on the other reviews I have read, I think she was the owner. She was very kind in determining which was the perfect wines to pair with our cheeses! This place is the epitome of charcuterie board GOALS. If you're looking to find the next cheeses and meats to add to your board, I suggest heading over to this place ASAP to see what they have to offer. read more

First visit was absolutely delightful. We got the cheeseboard, with 3 house selected cheeses, 2 wine flights, and 2 entrees. We loved the surprise combo of house cheese selected along with the additional bites that came with it. Other reviews have complained about the size but they clearly told of us the size before ordering. We thought it was worth as we wouldn't typically bring home these types of cheeses. There was a nice selection of wines in the 2 tastings we selected. The entrees were not big enough for leftovers but the quality and taste of the Cuban sandwich and raclette were good enough to order again. We also ordered cherry confit cheesecake. This tasted delicious but was the only thing that didn't wow us for the price. Would recommend this place for anyone look for a wine and cheese date or celebratory dinner with all the courses. read more

We've been coming here since they opened their doors and it's one of our absolute favorite spots in downtown SJ. The cheese selection is incredible. Each comes paired with something surprising and delightful (ginger snaps? Caramel corn? Yes, as it turns out, yes.) We've never had anything from he menu that we didn't like. In June, Liana agreed to help us out with a private event and it was FANTASTIC. Our guests loved the food, the setting, and of course Liana and her team's gracious hospitality. We took the virtual Zoom cheese class from Devine cheese and it was a revelation. They had our cheese plate hand delivered to our house, then we joined a virtual group class of maybe 40 people on Zoom to hear how each cheese was made. The discussion was informative without being pretentious and the cheese selections were divine or should I say Devine. One small but unexpected blessing from being forced to slow down these days of enforced quiet is that I can taste different flavors much more acutely. There is a world of flavor I had been missing. I worked with Liana to order a cheese tray for my Mom's birthday and it was a wonderful experience, she took my mom's preferences into account and put together a beautiful plate of cheese and accompaniments. We took it home to eat and it was all delicious, the fruit was fresh and ripe, the bread and crackers were fresh and the cheeses were new and interesting and we found some new ones to add to our rotation.
