What happened to this place? Food was decent. Wahoo was fresh tasting but very limited on flavor. Green beans has zero flavor. Potatoes were solid. But service was horrendous. Empty drinks, empty water. It took over 90mins from order to get our entrees. For the prices this place charges I expect way better. read more

Devon's is an amazing place to go to for happy hour and apps, a corporate lunch or a romantic dinner with a loved one. The atmosphere screams sophistication and high class and the servers are helpful and very kind. The food is also delicious and fresh! We went for small plates of calamari, a spicy tuna roll and 2 sides of lobster mac and cheese and truffle mushrooms. The food was yummy, but I do have 2 small complaints. The side of lobster mac and cheese could have had more lobster in it...the pieces were almost non existent and the spicy tuna roll had a little too much rice. Other than that, the tuna in the roll was very fresh and the calamari was delish! I have also been here for dinner before and the trout I got was mouthwatering. They also serve these cheesy biscuits with a maple butter that are TO DIE FOR. Highly recommend. read more

Devon should rename itself "Divine" because that's how you'll feel about the food, service and ambience. After living in Hershey for 6 months, we finally have an answer to the question "What's your favorite restaurant?" There are other restaurants in this city that are quite good, but Devon is in a league of its own!! Nearly everything was "best ever," like, best dinner rolls, best lobster bisque, best Brussel sprouts, best steak, etc. There are two things I'd like to draw attention to in particular. Currently they are serving a pretzel crusted trout dish that is bonkers delicious! If they're offering it when you're there, DON'T PASS IT UP. Trout usually doesn't wow me, but theirs is next level! My second recommendation is the cheesecake! The night we were there it was vanilla bean cheesecake, but I'm confident you'll go ga-ga over whatever flavor is offered that day. I rarely leave reviews but WOW. this place is so amazing. i got the 8oz filet with a crab cake, with sides of lobster mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. firstly, i will be coming back TOMORROW to eat the exact same thing again. the lobster mac and cheese is probably the best i've ever had, and the filet melted in my mouth. the crab cake was basically straight crab--A DREAM! and the mashed potatoes were nostalgic and fancy at the exact same time. the servers were amazing too, never had to wait long for my waters to be filled and they were extremely nice!! the atmosphere was loud and fancy, but i did not feel underdressed. overall, i loved it and will come back. read more

Easily my favorite seafood restaurant in Central PA area. As I entered the establishment, I was greeted by a host who led me to an open table. Our waitress came to the table with biscuits that were delightful. We ordered appetizers, main dishes and dessert. We tried the calamari and the bruschetta as appetizers, a great start. For main courses we ordered the salmon, lobster risotto and creamed corn and the steak and mashed potato's, all amazing dishes. Dined at Devon during our recent stay at the Hotel Hershey and enjoyed it. We originally planned to eat at the hotel's Circular restaurant but there wasn't much vibe so we decided to pivot at the last minute. Glad we did! Pretty much everything was good. Biscuits, mussels, mixed grill, crab cakes and Cioppino all tasty. Generous portions as well. Lobster roll appetizer was just ok. We did find the menu a bit overwhelming with too many choices. Cool looking restaurant and I assume the vibe matches. We got there a bit late in the evening so was hard to judge as it was fairly empty. Our server, Alex, was excellent. This was a great pick to have dinner for my mother-in-law's birthday. She completely enjoyed the ambiance and the array of selections from the menu. We started with appetizers of course. The shrimp cocktail is a classic favorite of hers that she thoroughly enjoyed. I didnt even get one so she could enjoy all of it. Also, the calamari was perfectly cooked. They were tender with a nice, crisp breading and the sauces paired well. There were two of them, on wite, cream tangy sauce similar in consistency to a house made tartar as well as a clear sweeter sauce. Not to mention the house black pepper cheddar biscuits with the wipped butter and maple spread. Amazing. My partner and I had cocktails. Classic Pepsi and Whiskey. Couldn't go wrong. For dinner, we tried a few different things. The Cajun Chicken Penne she had was good and bountiful flavor. She couldn't finish and took it home for her midnight snack while watching Netflix. I had the grouper blackened with the lobster mac n cheese and cauliflower. The cauliflower was tasty with the bits of bacon it was cooked in for seasoning and the mac n cheese had good bits of lobster claw and creamy. My partner had the seafood mixed grill and cleaned his plate so I think it's safe to say he enjoyed his meal. Having said that there was no room for dessert. Maybe next time. Our server Alex was very kind and offer his birthday best wishes to my mother-in-law. I saw another table have a candle and small cake brought for a birthday, not sure it is standard as we didnt get that treatment more than the happy birthday from our server. We liked this restaurant, and had a great date night here on New Year's Eve. It was crowded because of the holiday which may have contributed to me rating it 4 stars instead of 5. It's a seafood and steak restaurant with a one page menu, and at the price point we expected the best. We both ordered steaks medium rare, and they were more medium-well and somewhat underseasoned. We have been eating here for a decade, never had a problem, but wow has it dropped off. Made a reservation two weeks ago, table wasn't available. Then we sat down, and they ALWAYS bring biscuits to munch on...no biscuits. Our waitress came by, got a drink order, brought the drinks and then vanished for more than ten minutes. When she came back, we asked about the biscuits, she didn't realize we never got any and went for some. Our app finally came out, artichoke dip, ice was in the middle. We sent it back. AN HOUR after we sat down, our food finally came. Look it happens, but at $45 a steak, it NEVER should. We will give it a year and see how it goes, plenty of other places to go. read more

Not obtrusive and with the right balance of knowing when to be present and when to leave us to savor and enjoy our meal which by the way was off the charts!! Food - 6/5. Everything was absolutely delicious and perfectly seasoned! Our server Dawn was attentive but not intrusive and she was very nice and very personable! I was enthused with this restaurant! Parking was fairly easy, with a parking garage out back behind the restaurant. The entrance to Devons is actually through the Houlihans entrance. The atmosphere inside was gorgeous, perfect for our celebration! The service was PHENOMENAL. We were waited on quickly, got our drinks, appetizer, and food in less than an hour of our reservation time. Our server was so nice and helpful for us first timers at the restaurant to delve into the menu. We shared the sangria, which was amazing, nice and icy cold on a hot day-not too sweet. They started us off with free biscuits, which were nice and buttery and a perfect start to the meal. We got the fried calamari as an appetizer, which came with two sauces. The calamari itself was encapsulated in such a flaky and light breading. The calamari was nice and tender, not tough like you find elsewhere. I got the swordfish, which tasted okay. It tasted like a steak, but I happened to be craving a fishy taste today which was slightly disappointing. However, if you're craving steak, this would be an excellent flaky choice. I did wish It would've come with some sort of sauce to lighten it up a bit. My fiance got the seafood mixed grill to get a sample of everything. This also came with two sauces. The salmon was similar to the swordfish and tasted like a steak. The crab cake was FILLED with crab, and flavored amazingly. The shrimp had a nice kick to it and was cooked perfectly. There were only two scallops, but they were perfectly cooked and had a beautiful seasoning. Next, sides. The lobster Mac and cheese wasn't as cheesy as I would've hoped but had a good amount of lobster. The carrots were phenomenal, a beautiful mix of heat and sweet. The lemon asparagus risotto was nice and creamy. The mashed potatoes were skin on, and was a great foundation for the dish. Overall, an excellent meal, but pretty expensive. Loved it! My twin sis and I spent our birthday dinner at Devon. Elegant bar drinks - French 75 and Blackberry martini. She had tuna, of which I might point out, she gave me the tiniest bite. Larger filet for me (with a bite or two to take home for the four-legged kids). Risotto and asparagus perfect. Oh, the biscuits... and the butter... Service was quick. Highly recommend reservations. We went to social hour for apps and drinks from 4:00-6:00. During this time they have discounts with varying prices. We had the tuna sushi, tempura shrimp sushi and sweet chili cauliflower. All were great. They have amazing cheese garlic biscuits that come with a delicious maple butter and are addictive, they even boxed us up 8 to take. I had the George's Bank scallops that were so tasty which came with 2 sides. My broccolini was just ok not much flavor. My haricot verts were flavorful. Others in the group had the prime KC strip and loved it. The restaurant is beautiful with low lighting, and they have a patio that was comfortable. Service was attentive. This restaurant is located in Hershey Pennsylvania. This restaurant has outdoor seating where you can see some of the rides at Hersheypark from your table. Inside the restaurant has a very relaxing ambience. There is a very large bar with seating that appears to always be lively and ready to serve some of their specialty drinks. This is a seafood and steak restaurant and I would categorize it on more upper dining experience. The dress code here would seem to be more dressy but, due to the park I feel just about everything was OK to wear. I saw families celebrating birthday dinners as well as Park goers who just came over for a seafood/steak dinner. The wine selection in this restaurant was fantastic! I was very happy with all the choices. My husband enjoyed a bourbon and was also happy with the selection of those choices. The food here is great, we visit Devon a few times a year. I will say that the portion side of the seafood mix grill has gone down over the last year or so, along with the price going up. The summertime there's a different crowd and there isn't much of a dress code.. lots of people coming in from HP in casual clothing. I can't say enough about the quality of the food..always excellent. Our favorite thing is by far the goat cheese bruschetta appetizer...absolutely delicious. However, I am quite displeased about shady service by the wait staff. This evening we went and I ordered the seafood mixed grill...my favorite choice for dinner. The server says to me "Is the salmon ok for you, or would you like another of our fish choices?" I was excited and said "Wow, that's great, could I have the swordfish?" He replied with "Absolutely " and went on his way. At the end of the meal, when I received the bill, there was a $16 up charge on there for the fish. There was no mention of an up charge for the fish...he offered it. There was also no mention of charging an extra $5 for the Caesar salad as my wife's side dish...which she asked if she could have as one of her sides. The people we were with were also charged more for their entree than was stated in the menu. As I said, the food is amazing but their sales tactics leave a bit to be desired. Now that we have been suckered, you can be sure it won't happen again next time. read more

Ordered the Surf&Turf Fillet and Scallops,..I Oscared the Fillet. The Scallops were not "dry" scallops but "wet".about the size of a quarter, no crusty char on the outside (tipping me off to sodium tripolyphosphate treated wet scallops}... and the off taste it manifest instead of a fresh caught sweet taste... Next...the fillet was overcooked and dry with no flavor or taste... ahh but I oscared it, maybe this can revive some flavor?...wrong the supposedly crab nuggets ( not lump) were tiny and bathed in a "foyot sauce" that came off bitter, glad I didn't poor it over my fillet and instead just set that aside.The Oscar was served wrong..they put the crab in the foyot sauce in a side container already mixed, as opposed to piling the Jumbo Lump (which is was not) on top of the steak and then allowing me to pour the foyot sauce at will over the crab and steak! And to top off my palate I ordered the poblano au gratin potatoes, which were fine, and the roasted cauliflower. There was no "roasted" ...instead every floret of cauliflower was "charcoal burnt black" needless to say I would not even try it. I Will not return to Devon again,but instead I will stick with my true and tried, consistently excellent fresh seafood of your choice 2 miles east of Devon's called "What if of Hershey"..a culinary gem in the Hershey area. read more

Devon Seafood Hershey used to be a pretty decent place...years ago...but they've spiraled ever downward each time we give them "just one more" chance. I feel foolish at this point because last night was no exception. I had their surf and turf which was a six ounce (maybe) filet with four shrimp and two (barely US quarter size) scallops. The scallops were so small I couldn't see them on my plate at first glance. I actually asked the runner if they forgot to add them. As it turned out, one of the shrimp was covering them. A shrimp...was covering...my scallops. A third of the filet mignon was overdone, dry and stringy. It was reminiscent of beef that was microwave defrosted poorly. I've made 1,000's of steaks over the last 40 years and I can tell with a high degree of accuracy how beef has been treated before it arrives to table. The other 66% of the steak was actually quite good. My entree came with two sides. I selected the roasted heirloom carrots with honey sriracha butter. Sounds pretty good, right? Wrong. I tasted no hint of honey nor even the essence of sriracha, two condiments I enjoy frequently. On the whole, the carrots were otherwise insignificant. Their "famous" lobster mac & cheese is a flavorless, oleaginous spoonful of pasta with absolutely no soul. If a shred of lobster meat made it onto that plate it arrived purely by accident. Devon Seafood is very typical of a tourist trap restaurant. As a rule, these establishments care not a wit if they ever see you again! Sadly, chances are the next time you're in town, you'll try a different restaurant or will have forgotten how disappointing your first visit with them was. Our South Central Pennsylvania area needs better restaurants so the " Devons" of the area are forced to compete for LOCAL diners' discretionary income. I'd be remiss if I didn't add that the entire front house staff were exemplary and were left a generous gratuity. After all, it's not their fault the owners and management are uncaring, unimaginative and uninspired. Devon Seafood receives two stars (for their service staff) and my solemn pledge they need never worry about another bad review from this diner. read more

We visited a week ago with friends . Not our first time and had expectations of a nice meal. We were there for 3 hours ! An hour and a half of that time with just drinks and the single salad that was ordered. Never saw any bread and although the waitress stopped by occasionally to see if she could "grab us anything " no apologies or explanations were made for the extreme delay. Was the order never put in ? Very odd . When dinner finally arrived , my husband's swordfish was very dry and over cooked. My halibut was also overcooked . Now the server came by and said she had noticed our dinner took a while and had told her manager who would be speaking with us . Ok. Still no real explanations but we got desserts comped , as they should have been . This was a pricey mediocre meal . Also the noise level in the room is horrendous - we are older but not ancient - and it was next to impossible to hear each other - in a booth at that.
