I have had the pleasure of visiting multiple Devon locations and each one has been consistent with fresh food offerings and great service from the waitstaff. During this particular visit, we had the pleasure of having Dawn H. as our waitress and she was excellent. I really appreciated her honest opinions when asked her thoughts on certain menu selections and I also appreciated that she took the time to explain the freshness of the fish. The only annoying part was that I was able to make reservations via OpenTable for a party of 4 at 8:15. I called and requested a 7:00 reservation and was told that there were no earlier reservations available. We actually arrived at Devon at 7:30 hoping to possibly be seated earlier, but was told (a little rudely) that we would not be seated until closer to 8:15. When we rounded the corner, there were plenty of tables available and that was just in the bar area! As a matter of fact, we wanted the table in front of the fireplace and it stayed empty for the entire 45 minutes until our 8:15 reservation. What the heck was that all about?! Besides the mild irritation with the hostess, our meal was delicious as always: Shrimp cocktail-HUGE shrimp Clam chowder-delish Mussels in green curry and coconut- amazing Spicy tuna roll-delish Fried shrimp-huge, delicious, and we received about a dozen! Charred tuna(rare)-the best dish I have ever had at Devon Halibut-cooked to perfection and melted in our mouths Asparagus-good Parmesan potatoes-good, however, mashed potatoes were better Carrot cake-good, but some parts were a little dry Apple croustade-always a home run They really deserve 5 stars, but the issue with the hostess really upset us. read more

Devon is our go-to place for fine dining, esp. seafood. It rarely disappoints, and did not yesterday. We both had the Seafood Mixed Grill, so we wouldn't have to decide which seafood to have. I also had the Lobster Bisque. Everything was uniformly well-prepared and tasty. We were full and didn't have dessert. But I know from experience that the Hershey's Velvet Chocolate Cake is just the thing for a chocolate lover. Expect to pay minimum of $125-150 for two, with tip and without drinks. read more

My husband and I made dinner reservations prior to the concert we were attending the other evening. We were running a few behind and were told we would only have an hour and half to eat. However, we were still sat even later after arriving. Our server was Greg who did an incredible job pointing out different items on the menu and giving a great description. He gave out awesome suggestions and answered any questions we had. Our drinks did take quite a bit of time, but I get it, it was incredibly busy. He was attentive to all of our needs throughout the evening. Our food - amazing! We split the oysters which were large and delicious. The goat cheese bruschetta had an excellent presentation and tasted great. I ordered the halibut with the cauliflower and Brussel sprouts. The food was hot and flavorful. Big city quality in a local restaurant. Four of us. Ordered as follows: February price-fixe menu, jumbo lump crab cakes, grilled mahi mahi, and Georges bay scallops. February menu included 3 courses - chose scallops, macadamia crusted opha and creme brulee. We did sides family style and ordered lobster mac and cheese, broccolini, potatoes, brussel sprouts, asparagus and creamed corn. Great taste profiles for everything. Also had one of my favorite bread - the biscuits - nice and hot with amazing butters. Added some desserts also - chocolate creme brûlée and apple croustade. My family member had a function for 15 people in this restaurant. The food was horrible!! While the prices are upscale the food taste like it came out of a box. Our party of 10 chose Devon's for New Year's Eve Dinner last night, disappointed would be an understatement! Giving one star bc zero stars is not an option. Started off with being served a drink with a crack in the glass and a hair in the drink. No one around to get their attention to replace the drink so I had to eventually get up and approach someone for help. After being there over an hour we had only received a biscuit and butter and then we were told they were out of lobster bisque, sushi rice for rolls, goat cheese bruschetta and cauliflower...all the apps we ordered. While being out of those things is bad enough, why did it take a half hour or more after we ordered for anyone to realize??? Entrees were JUST ok, nothing I would ever go back for. Service was awful, answers were short and condescending...when you actually got answers. To top it off...ordered dessert. Guess what? No crème brûlée left. Manager came over to tell us after we ordered and her personality and professionalism leaves much to be desired, as well. So many better places to choose from, we won't be back! read more

I came to Devon Seafood & Steak while I was on a short vacation in Pennsylvania and I'm so glad I did! This place is so amazing! The food is so tasteful and filling. I ordered the salmon with lobster Mac & Cheese and Mashed potatoes. My boyfriend ordered the lobster with lobster Mac & Cheese and asparagus. We also ordered about 4 different drinks which were all great. The servers are so sweet and helpful. The restaurant was very clean and beautifully lit. Returned after a four-year hiatus and was disappointed in a few things. Food is tasty, for sure. But service is just ok. Waited twenty minutes even with a reservation. Wait staff was competent but slightly absent. Food presentation was average. Overcooked asparagus, undercooked medium filet. Overall lacked the "special" touches Devon should be known for. It felt too HERCO corp and not unique. All that for a hefty check, too. Won't be going back for a while. read more

I really enjoy my trips to Devon -and there have been quite a few over the years. It has a very nice ambiance especially for a romantic evening but also can be family friendly if you arrive earlier. I've taken my kids there many times. Entrees are very creative, delicious and usually spot on preparation-wise. One of the best deals is arriving during their posted happy hours. During this time a select group of appetizers are half price ranging from $5 to $7. A few of my favorites are the lobster rolls (a must have),the calamari, bruscheta and mussels. Beer and cocktails are also discounted and some of their signature cocktails are delicious. Service is generally good, although I have had a few missteps on a couple visits but nothing too offensive. A tip.. Don't miss out on the complimentary cheddar biscuits. They are yummy! read more

My fiance and I checked out this restaurant for our anniversary. The menu is extensive but definitely pricey. We decided to forgo the entrees and instead make an entire meal out of appetizers. I love shrimp and decided to go with a classic shrimp cocktail. At $15.50 it was the highest priced of all of our appetizer selection. I'd love to say it was worth the price, but I can't . The shrimp was perfectly cooked and the cocktail sauces that accompanied it were freshly made, but it is hard to justify 5 large shrimp for that price. We ordered the goat cheese bruschetta, which I loved but he didn't. The cheese was tangy and rich, and the diced tomato beneath the cheese really helped cut some of the heavy fat mouth feel. My fiance got a Caesar side salad, and was pleased to be surprised with a large Parmesan crisp on top. Nothing out of this world, but tasty and fresh. The best appetizer of the evening was the lobster rolls. The bread was lightly toasted outside but deliciously soft and buttery, the lobster meat was generously portioned and not heavily dressed, and the diced celery and onion added to the lobster without overwhelming it. I could have made a whole meal out of lobster rolls. At $11 for 2 rolls, it wasn't bad. I had a sushi tempura roll. I'm a big sushi fan, but this was just ok. The best part of this entire experience was our server Cassandra M. She was amazing. I informed her at the beginning of my meal that I couldn't have anything with alcohol in it, and she went out of her way to verify with the cooking staff that none of the dishes contained wine/alcohol in the preparation. She was ahead of the game with drink refills, very attentive, funny and went over the top to make sure we enjoyed our experience. This was some of the best customer service I've received in a long time, and it made the whole evening worth the price. I'll ask for her again, when I come back. My husband and I celebrated 4yrs of marriage on August 11th. Since it fell on a week day so we decided to have our dinner on Sunday August 15th at Devon's. It was our 1st visit. Our waiters name was Greg and he welcomed us and explained the menu and answered some questions we had. When our food came the presentation was so beautiful and taste was so delicious. We didn't need to add any seasoning at all (except tabasco for the hubby). Greg was very attentive. We couldn't eat dessert because we were so full. We asked for our check. A high end steak and seafood restaurant in downtown Hershey. Good food, good atmosphere, great for dinner and drinks.

Our reservations for 6 was a table for 4 with a chair at either end. After we were seated they came and placed 6 napkins with silverware rolled up inside, 6 menus and 1 drink/wine list. A busboy came over with 6 tall glasses of ice water and picked the 1st one up by grasping the rim of the glass with his fingers, which was totally inappropriate. In the process he spilled an entire glass on the table and into my lap. A number of wait staff came over and apologized and helped clean up the spill, but there was no manager to be seen and no hint of any compensation, not even a free drink. After the rest of our party arrived, it took about 15 to 20 minutes for our waitress to come and take our drink order. Then there was another 20 minute plus wait for the drinks to arrive. We were there almost an hour before our orders were taken, which included one lobster bisque a salad and 6 entrees. It was at least another 15 to 20 minutes before the soup and salad arrived and then an additional 20 to 30 minutes for the entrees to arrive. None of us ordered dessert, yet we still waited about 15 minutes for our checks. It took less than 5 minutes to get the three receipts back after we gave the waitress our credit cards. All told we were in the restaurant for over 2 1/2 hours. The lobster bisque was very salty and the consistency was not what I would expect, the lobster risotto was the constancy of wallpaper paste and there was not even a hint of the taste lobster in it. I tried my wife's crab cake, not very tasty. The restaurant was very noisy, making it difficult to hear people at the other end of the table (i.e. about 6 feet away). Some of the entrees were over priced given the portion sizes. I will say that the biscuits were very good. In a nut shell, I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

I have visited Devon several times and have always had an excellent experience. On my last visit, we popped in for happy hour hoping to catch the performance of a local singer we enjoy. We were able to grab seats at the bar right away and were greeted by Dan, our awesome bartender for the day. I also live anywhere that does a weekend happy hour! (2-4 on Saturday's & Sunday's! And unlike weekdays where happy hour only applies at the bar, weekends are free game anywhere in the restaurant!) We started with delicious martinis and redeemed our yelp check-in offer for a free calamari app! The calamari was delicious and served with a unique Asian sauce as well as an aioli that were both very tasty! We then ordered an app of the steam clams and they were cooked perfectly in a butter and garlic sauce that was just as good as it sounds. As we were snacking on our clams, Dan came around with free homemade biscuits and butter that was mixed with a syrup....wow. It tastes like a pancake and was such a special little treat! I had a 4:00pm reservation with my boyfriend and we were seated next to the kitchen which I was skeptical about but it never affected our night. In fact, it gave us a little more privacy. I'd say there's no "bad" seat in the restaurant. Our waiter Elise was spectacular the entire night. They did a great job of explaining the menu. We got the fried calamari and Rockefeller oysters (3) both of which exceeded expectations. For entrees we got the seafood mixed grill and a medium filet and crab cake combination with lobster Mac and cheese and mushroom risotto. These were amazing! The seafood mixed grill was the perfect combination of sides and the main course. I could write an essay about how great these dishes were but I'll try to keep this short. We had the Hershey's chocolate cake for dessert and received a complimentary scoop of vanilla ice cream which we greatly appreciated. Every part of this meal was a great experience. The atmosphere was light with a slightly classy feel. The menu has so many options I wish I could've tried so I'll definitely be coming back. Great ingredients equal a mediocre meal. Ordered a Moscow Mule and Manhattan, both were off. Starter of mini lobster rolls were ok but paired with cold flavorless French fries. Dinners of seared scallops and sheepshead were also just ok. Sheepshead did not taste like butter as described, rather like a frozen breaded white fish you can get anywhere. Sheepshead was overcooked. Disappointed to have frozen corn in the side dishes. Zucchini, corn, tomato ragout tasted like a microwave dinner option. Entire dinner with drinks, a starter, and main course took us 40 minutes. The quality of the meal reflected this, rushed to plate to increase throughput. Not coming back as there are more deserving establishments that will maximize their ingredients, take their time and serve a quality meal. read more

This place is has a wonderful atmosphere. I had the Seafood Mixed Grill. They cooked all the seafood very well and it was deliscious. I didnt enjoy the brussel sprouts too much but it wasnt bad. Their mashed potatoes were good too. The place was packed and everyone seemed to be having a good time. I had a good time and enjoyed my meal overall. I only took off 1 star because it took a while for me to be greeted and didnt get much attention. I usually prefer that but was by myself and didnt plan to stay long.
