We started service with Dewey in July of 2020. The first few months had errors on billing which resulted in multiple calls to the company. The service wasn't consistent. When I signed up I was told they could treat for hornets under our eves then later was told they couldn't do it and I needed to get a can of spray and do it myself, this was after a technician told me he could and was supposedly doing it. I started noticing we had black widows in the house as well as spider webs with spiders still on the house right after the technician had serviced the house. After so many issues between service and customer service and I called the 800 number on the contract to cancel our service. They said I had to contact the local office that services our house. The girl I spoke to said to cancel I had to send an email. I sent the email and no one responded or confirmed my service had been canceled. A technician wound up showing up at my house to service it and luckily I was home to advise that we canceled, didn't want the service, and actually hired another company who just serviced the house the day before. Because I have pets that need to be inside during treatment I asked the company to have the technician advise when they are on their way. This time it did not happen. The technician told me he texted me the day before he showed up to remind me about service but I did not receive a text. The technician assured me that if he didn't turn in a tag for service I would not be charged since they can't charge if nothing was sprayed. The next day I had a pending charge from Dewey for $70. I called the office and was told that there wasn't any notes on my account that I canceled but then was told that there was. I was also told that my debit card info had been removed so there would be no for them to even charge me and they would contact the corporate office to have the charge refunded. Several days later, no refund or any follow up from anyone from Dewey. In speaking with our new pest control company about what treatment we wanted I mentioned fleas since we have pets. He said per CA regulations they could not spray for them as a preventative, only if we have an active issue with them in the yard. For over a year with Dewey I was never told that. I was under the impression that they were spraying for them. Our new company did a much more thorough job cleaning off webs and with treatment. read more

We had strange scratching noises coming from our attic and suspected a rat. Dewey Pest Control was able to come out in about three days and was promptly near the beginning of the 2-4pm window they provided. Their representative was very friendly, knowledgable, and thorough. He also took care to avoid tracking in the winter mud. No problems to report. If I have trouble again, I'd call them first. read more

I'd like to give Tony, our pest technician more than five stars if I could. He's great and took time to help as I understand the pest problem and how to best solve it. We have been with dewey for a year now and we will not ever re-sign up for this service company because the office is 100% incapable of doing what they say. We asked to be taken off auto pay so we could pay with different card when Bill was due and they said they turned auto pay off and two months in a row we were auto billed and totally screwed with the manger saying srry that they don't reverse any money and he's really srry. The second time same thing "oh yea that shouldn't have happen but were srry". So last week during this covid pandemic I call to pay half of my service which they offer right to help people in the hard times. So I call and ask to pay my half bill which SILIVA in the office processed she said for 35$. Come to find out she charged the full amount and totally screwed my family AGAIN. Called she told me she could actually talk to corporate and have them reverse 35$ back to and it would take a couple days. Coming up on a week and nothing has been reversed. So I call and siliva is rude again stating she talked to me and my and explain it would a couple days but today now it could take up to weeks. I will be hard writting my dismissal of renewal service and turning it in in person. The office staff is truly not capable of running a service company! read more

I use their service at my current address . All the techs are great and helpful . Even as far as the secretaries and helping setting same day appointments / ASAP if needed ( previous miscommunication) they still found a way to get my service done . Most recently I needed a inspection on future property purchase , Matt K. one of their inspectors was very thorough with his inspection and pointed out very important details in which I don't think most inspectors might have done ! Very appreciative of his knowledge and the job he did . By no means did he seem to rush through and is highly recommended!!! I am a new customer serviced by the Sacramento location. The technicians have been great when they came out for the initial services and a subsequent issue. The problems for me started when I had to contact the office for service between the routine appointments. I called in for ants in my kitchen and something in my attic on a Tuesday. The ant appointment was scheduled for the following day. However, instead of scheduling someone right away for the critter in the attic, I was told they needed to know what type of animal it was and suggested that I should look in the attic to determine. Since I was not comfortable climbing to the far side of my attic, I was told a manager would have to be consulted and the soonest would be Thursday. Thinking the call was over I hung up and assumed they would contact me to set up an appointment. I have to say I was surprised I was expected to crawl in the attic myself since my pest control at my prior house had simply made me a next day appointment and figured out what type of animal we were dealing with themselves under similar circumstances. Since after the ant treatment on Wednesday ants showed up in another portion of the same wall they had just treated, I called again on Thursday regarding ants and the attic. The same person answered the phone as I had spoken to previously informed me 1) no appointment was set for the attic issue because "you hung up on me"(?) and 2) they do not schedule back to back service calls for the same issue. After I was placed on hold, she did agree to schedule the technician to come out for the ants Friday and another technician to come out and look in the attic on Friday also. So, in my short experience with company the front office staff has not been responsive or that interested in resolving my concerns and I am locked in to a year contract with hefty fees for cancellation. On a side note, I was not aware the company was closed on weekends and it never occurred to me to check before signing since my prior pest control service was available on weekends. Also, I guess I was spoiled previously with the same day/next day service available from my prior company. read more

I was so happy with Dewey Pest Control for the past four years. David was great, always called first and always on time. Then David became ill and had to go on disability.. In May Dewey Pest charged my credit card. I called and informed them that service was not provided. They promised to send someone out in a couple of weeks, I was given a date and the technician never showed up. In the meantime, I am very allergic to spider bites and ended up in urgent care and given heavy duty antibiotics. I called to cancel their service. I requested a refund for the day they never showed up and was told it would take 10 days. Twelve days later I called and they said they normally just reverse the credit and reschedule. I again requested they cancel the service and refund the payment. Again, they promised to refund the money. Will I ever see the refund? Who knows? read more

Did everything inside and outside the house to take care of the issue, explained what he did, said to call back if the issue persists. I was very happy once we met Tony and set up our home with services for pest control. After meeting with and discussing the plan for ridding our home of the problems with any insect and help with rodent issues. I am glad we can get on a maintenance plan to stop these creatures from taking over the property. Tony has great knowledge advice and ideas to minimize or rid future issues of any possible creatures attempt to build their own town under and around our rooftop. This is just a follow up, so I get a call from Mike Escobar who tells me that hes incredibly sorry for the service that I received in its not the standard for his company. He is still gonna charge me for the $200 an initial set up which I agree to pay and he wants it over the phone. I took 2 morning's off of work to wait for his technician to come here who never called or showed. Today I got another bill in the mail for $319 in the mail that they say I owe. I have no problem paying the $199 for the initial set up that actually did not happen because they're guys only showed up once. I need a final statement in the mail from them in writing that says our business together is completely over. I do not need a verbal contract over the phone that I cannot prove and I do not trust his company's billing practices to end this process. I am an extremely Busy person that doesn't have time to track this kind of thing down. Please be careful what you sign with this company. read more

They were always punctual and considerate of our time. They took care of the problem in the fall and the pests are still gone. They were so knowledgeable and taught us what the cause of the problem was, how to treat it and how to prevent it for the future. Had the same HORRIBLE experience with Dewey, who made my minor rat problem a thousand times worse. When I asked to speak to the manager (which was done with great hesitation, as Tim, my tech always told stories of how he'd leave dead rats and half rat bodies at homes who complained), I never got a call back. They continued to charge me but when I called them for a service call, I was told they cancelled my contract AT MY REQUEST! I never spoke with anyone because they didn't call back. I knew they wouldn't work for me when the psycho Tim told me he and the owner were going fishing one weekend. Good friends, and that is apparently more important than good service to paying customers. Tim was constantly threatening me against complaining in his passive-aggressive story telling way. An hour late the first spraying of our complex, then they didn't even get to my unit--promising to come back 4 days later after all the bugs would have headed for my unit! Had to run down to the hardware store and take care of it myself. Four hours late the second, the one who showed up the second time was rude and arrogant and because I was pissed off about how they screwed me the first time, he said I wouldn't even get sprayed this time! Outrageous! No customer service orientation except phony lip service. This company has some real losers working for it and the management tolerates it! Mr. Escobar, perhaps you didn't read my review correctly. It has been at least 5 years since having any business/services with Dewey Pest Control. Dewey just recently attacked my credit maliciously, my account was not sent to collections 5 years ago and was paid in full with $0 due which is why Dewey has never billed or contacted me since. I've already disputed the error with the credit bureau and if that does not resolve the issue I will file a complaint with department of consumer affairs and pursue legal action against your business in court. Just wanted to warn anyone thinking of doing business with Dewey that this company is a SCAM to obtain payment by not providing services and fraudulently reporting consumers to credit bureaus. If you want something done the right way I recommend Tony!... I must say it took a few times and the right people to come out but when they did I was blown away! I had an Ant problem in my house and when it first began some other reps came and treated the problem, but it persisted.. I called and told them it was really bad.. That day and in less than an hour they had the supervisor and Tony come out to take a look...They were very honest and told me what the outcome may be but they were going to do the best they could.
