So sad today. Ordered a turkey dinner at Dewolf Tavern for pickup because my oven is broken. $140 they forgot the quart of mashed potatoes at $16, quart gravy for $18 well they only gave a 16 ounces, quart of Brussel sprouts $20 half full, quart of chestnut stuffing $14 half full, prime rib 16 ounces weighed on my scale at 14 ounces, but the best is $48 plus tax for 3/16 ounces of turkey my scale sayes 10 ounces not enough to feed thee people. I would like to be empathetic to the restaurant industry, but I was trying to make the best of my broken oven situation, and patronize the restaurant industry, but I donot like to get cheated. If you advertise a portion for what is than why would I expect less. Everyone is hurt by COVID and restaurants want to make what they lost back. Fact is - stop trying to take advantage of the people that patronize your business.Thanksgiving is a wonderful family day. To the manager who offered me a gift card or a way to make it right, make it right by seeing that the owner/chef/manager is making sure even during a busy holiday that the portions are weighed correctly, priced appropriately, and the items ordered are packaged and given to the purchaser. Not complicated. A manager needs to always please the client especially when you the client has made an 45 minute drive. I cross DeWolf Tavern off my list to patronize in the future. What restaurants fail to realize is overpricing and not backing up quality and service will put you out of business. read more

Capable of greatness - often settles for "meh." The story behind Dewolf is great - old factory building on the water, classic New England fine dining w/ a head chef from India. Many of the dishes have a interesting "twist" - which I like. The execution of these dishes has varied significantly from visit to visit. I think that might explain some of the more middling reviews here. Also, as someone how chooses to have a drink at the bar from time to time (nice change in atmosphere from the other local options - and they have a nice "craft beer" menu along w/ a decent wine list) I notice a regular turn over in staff. Perhaps this lack of consistency explains some of the truly negative, "service" based reviews found here. If nothing else - stop by for a craft beer and the "Naan CheeseSteak" sandwich - its a masterpiece (of course I love sliced steak, horseradish & Naan bread - the combo is [slightly greasified] heaven.) Also - the homemade potato chips served alongside should come w/ everything - they're that good. Could easily be a "must visit" - just needs to find more consistent footing night in and night out. One more thing: if you're passing on the sandwich and having an entree - order a side of the cauliflower. That might sound weird (unless you love cauliflower) but its incredible. Slightly breaded in chickpea flower and covered in a tangy bbq-inspired sauce. It works as a side OR an appetizer. read more

In a word: YUM! Now, I'll start off by saying we came here for the first time with a Groupon in hand, which got us over half off what we would have normally paid. Therefore, our meal of epic proportions would have been highly unlikely if it had been at the normal restaurant price. First, the atmosphere: We sat in the downstairs bar area, which had gorgeous stone walls, exposed beam ceilings, and an entire wall of wine bottles. We were seated at the first table near the door, which made us a little bit worried that we might feel the cold drafts from outside each time the door was opened, but thankfully they did a very good job of keeping the warm in and the cold out! Second, the service: Our waitress was pleasant, although she seemed a bit rehearsed and didn't make much of an attempt at conversing with us. She was very nice and attentive, and got our entire order correct, so she scores full points anyway. The gentleman who was helping her by clearing plates and refilling water glasses was extremely friendly and played along very well with our joking. Third, and most important, the food: Ohhh my gosh was it delicious! Three out of four of us ordered the seafood chowder, which was loaded up with clams, scallops, shrimp, and lobster, and was just plain delicious! Boyfriend ordered the tomato bique, which I tasted, and was also very good.... but no comparison to the chowder! For the second course, the other three at the table ordered the lobster popover. I'd had a long debate with myself whether to also order the popover, or go with my all-time favorite food: gnocchi. I went with the gnocchi so I wouldn't be left forever wondering if it could have been the best gnocchi of my life, and the boyfriend promised I could try his lobster popover. The gnocchi was extremely delicious... sweet potato gnocchi with braised short ribs; perfectly melt-in-your-mouth soft and delicious. However, I have to admit that I was pretty jealous of the lobster popovers! I had some of my boyfriend's, and it was fantastic! Next time, I will have to just have the lobster popover and the gnocchi as my full meal! All four of us ordered the filet (medium rare) as our entree. The steak was delicious, and it was served with some of the creamiest, most flavorful mashed potatoes I've had. Despite having already eaten two courses and bread, we each cleaned our plates! For dessert, we each ordered the creme brulee, which was also dynamite! Cool and creamy on the bottom, and warm and crunchy on top. Just. Awesome. Add to all of this the fact that we each got an included glass of beer or wine, and it was also 1/2 price bottle of wine night, and we left as four very well-fed and well-wined happy customers! The next time we're looking for a fancy date night, we will definitely consider returning to Dewolf! We'll likely be spending a bit more (or eating less) without the half-off Groupon and wine deal, but I think if we were to go back on a warm summer day and sit outside by the water, it just might be worth the extra price! read more

I was the recipient of one of those selfless acts of kindness pessimists always say don't happen anymore (but the servers at Dewolf proved otherwise). Last night, I met some of my dearest friends who I haven't seen in a year at Dewolf. Everyone was gathering the night before a wedding, and in the excitement of catching up, I forgot to order food. When one of the severs (not the one who was in charge of our table) came to deliver the meals others had ordered, I asked if I could also place an order, but he said the kitchen was closed. I was friendly and polite, definitely didn't want to be a jerk and I dropped it. A moment later, he stopped by and said "let me see what I can do." Three minutes later, he brought out a DELICIOUS, beautifully cooked steak with mashed potatoes and beans (I mean, it was amazing). He said, "share it with whoever wants some, it was my dinner, but I was probably going to get a sandwich from around the corner with some friends after my shift is over anyways." I asked about paying, he said to just take care of our server (he was older, in his forties or fifties, and the server for our table was in his early twenties). So just to sum this up, he gave up his own dinner for a stranger, and then tried to make sure the recipient of any compensation was the kind, new, much younger guy he was working with. When I tried to give the young server a (substantial) tip, he refused humbly and firmly. I'm a bit older and insisted he take it and he can split it with the rest of the staff or pay it forward towards someone else who needs it. These two servers showed so much character and kindness, and I will ALWAYS be a huge fan of this place (and not to mention, the food and overall service was fantastic). I hope the owners read this and know what a fantastic couple of guys you have working for you. read more

Went here for a birthday dinner . We chose it because it offered seafood options for the grandparents and vegetarian options for me. To drink I had a blueberry margarita , while the drink was fine, it was mixed with Jose Cuervo (something I did not notice) and cost $12. Totally over priced. They had a special local cheese plate that was delicious, but sadly that was the only food we enjoyed. Two people ordered the Sunday lobster special, which came with a soup or salad option. The waitress did not time anything properly, so there was a wait for the cheese, a wait for the soup/ salad, and then a long wait for the main course. One lobster was brought to the table, along with the Duck Confi, and Egg Fetichni. The waitress explained that the other lobster did not come with the side that had been ordered, so it was going to be a minute. Now mind you, the waitress came to our table during the soup/ salad course to confirm that he wanted french fries in place of mashed potatoes. So we waited for the second lobster to come back. By the time it did all of our food had cooled. My egg noodles were fine, nothing special. My partner felt the Duck Confi was mostly bone with little meat. But the real problem was the two lobsters. Both had to be sent back. The meat was literally stuck to the shell, that's how over cooked it was. The other one was rubbery and inedible. By that point we had been there over an hour and were fed up. Beyond that, dirty dishes were left on the table, drinks never refilled, a bus boy brought us bread when we were paying the bill, the whole thing felt like amateur hour. The meal was ruined, so I felt it should have been totally comped. We still ended up paying $70. Total waste of money. read more

DeWolf is one of the nicer places to eat in Bristol. It's dimly lit, and while there's a nice bar downstairs, there's a much prettier dining room upstairs. I'm a big fan of the filet mignon here. Not just for the steak, but for the amazing peapods served with the filet. The whole dish is drizzled with steak juice (probably mixed with a little lemon juice and garlic) and is simply amazing. I've also had a few desserts here, but it's hard to make a review since they change them on a daily basis. My favorite has been the blueberry parfait. It was all fresh blueberries with cream and possibly a little booze. Overall, DeWolf is a great place for a nice quiet romantic dinner, and in the summer they have some pretty amazing views, since they're right on the water. read more

We were in Newport a week ago and all the restaurants were super busy. We decided to drive to Bristol and find a place for a late lunch. Were we thrilled to find Dewolf Tavern. It was a sunny day so we decided to eat outside. There were four of us and we were so surprised with the amazing meals we had. The chef does and incredible job. Two of us venturous eaters and the other two not so much. We all enjoyed our meals. Just wish we lived closer as it would be on my list of favorite places to dine. Compliments to the Chef. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! My wife and I went to DeWolf's to try the food in anticipation of booking a wedding rehearsal party. I was hesitant because of the eclectic menu but lunch proved ok and our server could not have been more attentive. We acknowledged that we did not have an appointment to see the event coordinator, (Kate or Raphaella) but we thought that since we were out of town she might have the chance to tell us if the date requested was available. We were told that she was too busy but we could fill out a form and she would get back to us. This was ok with us so we filled out the form and expected a call within a few days. The call never came so we followed up and left a message. We called four more times over a two week period as well as multiple emails without any return call or email. DeWolf's may be a popular restaurant however this was very unprofessional and I CAUTION anyone planning to use this restaurant as a venue for their event. read more

I was skeptical to try DeWolf after reading all the negative reviews about the new menu - but inevitably, I was OH SO GLAD I came here! We stopped in a couple weeks ago after a nice walk around downtown Bristol. We sat at the bar where we were pleasantly greeted by the bartender. We chose to order food off both the regular menu and the half-price bar menu (available 4:30-6:30 Tues, Wed. and Thurs.) All I can say is WOWOWOWOWOW! I kid you not. $4 white wine and saffron mussels served with heaping portions of fresh baked bread, $4.50 smoked salmon, sour cream and caper flatbread pizza. Delicious chopped salad off of the dinner menu that included seasonal fruits and veggies and a goat cheese cream dressing, all served in a fresh baked, warm tortilla shell. I vow to come here once a week whenever I'm in town for as long as the include this special. Or at least to munch on the complimentary house-made kettle potato chips that are served daily at the bar. Also, the bartender told me that DeWolf does $1 oysters on Mondays, with about 3-7 varieties available each week. My new favorite place!!! read more

This place has so much potential and just fails to live up to it. We hadnt been in a year (when we had a negative 5 star experience) but since we had experience many 5 star nights, we were excited when we got invited to go to dinner with a large group here last week. We came away thinking that this place is definitely so so. The service, while not great, was decent. I had wine and my wife had a martini which she said was nicely prepared. For dinner, we split a pizza which was decent and I had the chicken. While they advertise this as being a tandoori chicken, I just felt that the fusion aspect didnt work. There was a layer of cheese on top of the chicken that just overpowered the tandoori taste. All in all I am not sure if we will be back anytime soon with persimmon around the corner read more

We came here last year for Mother's day and we came here this year for my wife's birthday. We order the raw bar but I don't think it worth $40, but my wife likes it, that's all it matters. I had the pulled chicken sandwich and my wife had the Philly steak sandwich and they were fantastic. I was greeted by a very hospitable maître d' in a very charming stone walled building on the water. Walked in around 6;30pm last night and was told no availability for 2 people. I find that hard to believe since half the restaurant was empty. There were also a bunch of bar seats available but the host didn't offer them so we left. Went to River Rhodes a short walk away and had awesome food and perfect craft drinks. The waitress was excellent there too. Thanks Dewolf for turning us down, it worked out for the better. FYI..I will never attempt to step into your poorly operated place again. I really, really like Dewolf Tavern So why a 3 star not a 4 or 5? What makes me hesitate when the idea of going to Dewolf comes up? Service and price. I've been several times and it seems like each time the service is worse. The hostesses are so rude that it's almost funny. The wait staff just cant really execute. I've had lunch there when there are three tables and still had to wait for a fresh drink or ketchup. That just isn't okay at these prices. I also want to point out that the bar staff has always been fantastic in my experience. Knowledgeable about the menu and drinks and the right mix of friendly without being overbearing. Its the hostesses and waiters/waitresses that cannot get out of their own way. Now on the plus side everything I've ever had there has been excellent. I particularly love the steak sandwich. Not sure if they're still doing $1 oysters on Monday nights but that is a blast as well. Nan Pizza is also a big winner. The location is great for a date and they have a beautiful outdoor seating area that makes up for the service. I really hope the management takes some of these reviews to heart and turns it around, I'd like to go more often but frankly it can be stressful eating there and I no need that. read more

We have frequented DeWolf Tavern many times. The food is always consistently well prepared and delicious. The view is spectacular. The reasoning behind the low rating is more focused with the service as was had last night. The waiter was more concerned about divulging his personal life, and where he lived and was more interested in getting to better know my wife then focusing on presenting DeWolf Tavern in a professional light. The waiter felt so comfortable that he felt it to be appropriate to actually sit down with my wife and mother-in-law as he had a beer outlining what his favorite hobbies were and even felt comfortable enough to make a disparaging remark about me as I had left the table to use the men's room. My newlywed wife and mother-In-law felt so uncomfortable that as soon as I returned from the men's room they rushed out of the Tavern. To say that this type of behavior is uncalled for is an understatement. The level of service is uncharacteristic of this establishment and I would be remised if I were not to make mention of this as the owner of this establishment should be made aware of this as I'm sure this was not a first time incident. read more

Stopped in for breakfast this morning between spa appointments. There were only two other people seated for breakfast yet the waitress did not acknowledge me after passing me several times. At last she told me to just sit anywhere. I did. A waiter came over and handed me a wine menu and asked me if I wanted anything to drink. I asked for tea. He asked-- What kind? Regular or iced? I asked what kind of hot tea they had. He replied-- We have all kinds of tea. I asked for a menu (in lieu of the wine menu he'd already given me. Waiter returned with menu. I ordered a French press of Earl Grey tea. The waiter came over and pressed my tea but did not give me a cup, sweetener, or cream. I asked and received these essentials. I then ordered the "Tavern Breakfast"-- 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon, a sausage link, home fries, and my choice of French toast or a pancake. Waiter warned me they were out of sweet bread so the French toast wouldn't be very good. I opted for the pancake and scrambled eggs. FIVE MINUTES LATER: My food (except the pancake) arrived. There is no possible way my food could have been prepared fresh-- and it did not look fresh. What's more, the two eggs were actually two tablespoons of scrambled eggs, the sausage link was a patty the size of a half dollar, and the two slices of bacon were actually one slice folded in half. The home fries were soggy and flavorless. The pancake, when it arrived, was actually pretty good. I finished my meal in under 30 minutes and paid my $18 bill with a $2 tip. I have had fast food that outclasses this experience. read more

When I inquired about the offerings I was told "the chef has the menu the way that he likes it and does not make changes". If I had not been with local friends I would have walked. Beautiful location. Right on the water. Very stunning. We attended a wedding here and just for the location I will give it a one star. * There was 0 parking for guests. Everyone had to park on the street. Signs said two hour parking was enforced. * Ceremony was held under a tent overlooking the water that was absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately most of the guests had to stand due to a lack of chairs. No one from the venue came to add more chairs. It was what it was. * Cocktail hour was the same thing - not enough tables and only 1 bartender for 100+ guests. * The reception was held just a few steps away upstairs in the tavern. Again beautiful (exposed beams, exposed stone) but SO TIGHT. Shame on the venue for not capping the amount of guests it can sit comfortably. * 4 round tables needed to be moved to open up space for a dance floor. What?!?! Guests where left standing while eating desert!!! * We RSVP'd with our meals the waiter came and confirmed it and then gave everyone at our table chicken. * The photobooth had to be placed outside on the balcony due to lack of space. Overall this venue should say that it holds 50-75 people comfortably. It's not fair to tell a bride and groom that they can hold 100-150 guests comfortably when we were packed in like sardines. Such much potential. Needs better event planners and coordination. read more

This was a wonderful experience...the food and the service were top notch! The Seafood Stew was extremely fresh and full of shrimp, scallops, haddock and swordfish. We also had the Hanger steak special which started with a great seafood chowder and finished with an outstanding pear sorbet. The steak was perfectly seasoned and the atmosphere was historically charming. We would recommend this restaurant for people staying at the nearby Bristol Harbor Inn as well as locals looking for a night on the town. read more

Gosh, we've had at least 3 great meals and experiences here. However, I was taken here for Mother's Day. I cannot say they do special functions/holidays in the daytime well -- at all. It was very disjointed. Uneasy hostess, prickly waitstaff and we had the feeling all was not quite right in the kitchen and it was not. The entrees were cold and delivered unevenly. Uninspired Food We had not been to Dewolf Tavern is a few years and wanted to give this local favorite another try. Dewolf was promoting a three course prefixed menu special and we thought that might be interesting to see what was being offered, beyond the standard menu options. The prefix was very uninspiring and looked more like a list of appetizers and not dinner options. For example for a main course you could choose steamed mussels with French fries, really? French fries with mussels? Or how about a meatball entry, ahh, nope, not for $22.00. We decided to stick with the main menu. I had started with the seafood chowder that was very fishy smelling and tasting, which tends to mean either frozen seafood was used or it was old. I did not finish this. For main entries my wife went for the Naan Philly Filet Mignon sandwich, which was actually a very nice sandwich. I unfortunately selected the swordfish. The swordfish steak was filleted into two smaller thin pieces, which I had never seen done to swordfish. As a result it was dried out and flavorless. As a side it is served with a salted cod-coconut rice hash. Let me just say, gross. The mix of chopped salted cod and chopped coconut in rice was just a horrible tasting combination. Unfortunately Dewolf Tavern has not improved at all over the years and after this experience I am surprise it is still open with this menu. We went to visit my son at school and took him to DeWolf. We had great speciality cocktails, Cranberry Manhattan and Grapefruit 75. It was restaurant week and ordered of the special dinner menu. It offered 3 courses. My son ordered the lamb rack app and my wife and I had the Bristol Shrimp, both were outstanding. For the main course, we all ordered different entrees. Seafood stew, acorn risotto, and pork shoulder all hit the spot. The desserts were also very tasty, we tried avocado ice cream as well as sticky toffee pudding. The service was right on target, friendly, attentive, but not over bearing. The atmosphere was rustic and clean, very comfortable. The only negative I had about the entire evening was the coffee. Not enough to take away a star, but it tasted like it had been in the pot for quite a while. We look forward to going back again. read more

Had dinner at Dewolf Tavern last night and sat outside on the patio. Very nice view of Bristol harbor. Our waiter was excellent and very attentive. My wife had a lobster and crab sandwich on naan. I had little necks on pasta with bread crumbs with a spicy red sauce. Portions where very good and the side salad was excellent.. Great view - Good Food. Let's start by saying shore-side dining option in Bristol leave a little to be desired. DeWolf is by far the best waterfront restaurant in Bristol. I enjoyed the meal; the server was attentive and the space is beautiful. The Indian influences within the menu are refreshing and I enjoyed my Tandoori chicken. I would say though that the food did not blow me away, it was good but I feel this is an instance where the chef holds himself back to accommodate the palate of the average person visiting and dining in Bristol ... that is to say the 60+ crowd. I wonder if I were to ask if they could spice it up a bit. I will alway pick Dewolf when dining in Bristol and unless you want to be sorely disappointed I would recommend you do the same. read more

Random stop on a Sunday afternoon with my friend, so glad we made the choice, as we r borderline vegetarians! Who woulda thought alot of the menu was veggie! Taste plate of Brussels were amazing, and the kale salad. OH MY GOD , it had charred olives and sunflower seeds and cornbread crouton! When my husband and I met seven years ago, our first summer together was spent gallivanting around Rhode Island, especially in and around all our beautiful towns on the water. We spent most of our time in Newport, but occasionally traveled to gorgeous Bristol in order to hang out at Colt State Park. I remember one night after a fun day throwing a softball around at the park, we decided to head to what is perhaps Bristol's most celebrated restaurant, DeWolf Tavern, for a semi-fancy dinner. DeWolf Tavern is right on the water in a gorgeous building, and really, as far as restaurant location and atmosphere, it can't be beat. Seven years ago, we had a really expensive meal (nearly 200 dollars and I don't even drink!) that wasn't that great, and we vowed to never go back there again. Well fast forward seven years, and based on rave reviews from many friends who have dined there in the past few years, we decided to give it another chance. In fact, our friends were shocked when we told our story of seven years ago- they said it was actually quite affordable and the food was amazing. Hoping they were right, we made the 25 minute drive to Bristol a few Saturday nights ago to give the acclaimed DeWolf Tavern another chance. I am so glad we did. . . based on our meal that night, DeWolf Tavern has officially made it into my top five of casual but upscale Rhode Island restaurants. Seriously- I want to go back tonight! DeWolf Tavern is unique in that it features Indian/New England fusion cuisine. In other words, what you will find on their menu is lots of seafood, steak and other New England favorites spiced with Indian flavors or prepared according to Indian cooking methods, such as use of a tandoori oven. When we went there seven years ago, the concept was the same. I don't exactly know what happened between now and then, but let's just say they officially do Indian fusion cuisine right! We had a reservation for 8 o' clock and were seated immediately. The restaurant was very busy, and it was definitely full despite how huge it is. It is two floors, with a more casual downstairs dining area with a bar and a more formal upstairs (also with a smaller, less busy bar!). One feature I thought was so cool was the exposed beams and piping you could see, given we were seated upstairs. It gave the place a very rustic feel, which I liked. Now, the real reason I was willing to give DeWolf Tavern another chance was the fact that their online menu made it quite clear this place was extremely vegetarian friendly. Not only were there vegetarian apps and salads to pick from, but they had a whole section devoted to vegetarian entrees, including a pasta option and a sandwich option. The best part though? All of their sides are vegetarian, and you could pick any three sides to create your own vegetarian entrée! Our waitress was extremely helpful, and she checked with the chefs which of the sides were vegan or could be made so. Out of the three I asked about (the corn hash, the lentils, and the broccoli rabe), only the hash wasn't vegan (it had butter in it), but they could make it vegan for me! After a harrowing decision-making process, I decided to get an entrée composed of the braised black lentils, the native corn and poblano hash (veganized), and the veggie fries. I also needed to get a separate side order of cauliflower manchurian because I love the stuff! The cauliflower manchurian was sort of like an appetizer for me. My husband and I devoured these amazing florets coated in a sweet and spicy Asian sauce. I would get this again in a heartbeat. My entrée was huge. . . and delicious! The lentils were simple in terms of flavor, but they were hearty and warming. The corn hash, which was essentially fresh sautéed corn with some peppery spice, was perfect-nice and sweet from the fresh kernels with a pop of heat. My favorite thing though were the mixed veggie fries- in the mix were sweet potatoes, onions, bell peppers, cauliflower and potatoes, all nicely "french-fried" and eaten of course with copious amounts of ketchup. I ate every single thing, with the exception of some of the hash which I left so my husband could have some! We didn't have dessert, but based on what I saw, they did have vegan and gluten-free options in the form of a few sorbet flavors. I hate sorbet, so I passed. All in all, I wish I could go back to DeWolf Tavern tonight, as I said earlier. There are so many of the veggie sides I am dying to try that I haven't yet, and I am giddy over the possible vegan entrée combinations I could produce! The sercive was outstanding, the food was plentiful and amazingly tasty, and the atmosphere is the perfect blend of fancy and rustic. The DeWolf Tavern has officially redeemed itself in a big way. This is a very special place: 1- Service is awesome. 2- I enjoyed some of their world dishes, like the Naan bread. 3- The place is just awesome, must visit while in Bristol again. 4- I was invited to a special lunch with partners in my industry (Hospitality), they treated us like royalties. Lunch Food menu is really great (4 stars) and everything tasted very good. SERVICE SUCKS...the waitress had NO CLUE what was on the menu, no idea about what the bar had to offer and kept making things up.. Breakfast service (provided as a continental buffet for the hotel next door) was the worst!!! ...dont even bother, go somewhere else in town for Bkfast. read more

Going over the bridge from Newport in any direction is a task for dinner. The food was unique, delectable and affordable. Ate at the bar with Luke as our server, he is proficient with the menu and a valid mixologist. Tandoor roasted chicken is a must! Lamb chops not too shabby either. read more

Went there for dinner tonight, table of 4, and I have to say it was one of the worse restaurants I've been to in years. We eat out a lot in Bristol, and don't mind paying good money for a nice meal, but the experience at this place was horrendous. Limited menu, terrible presentation (filet mignon served on a side dish plate alone, salmon also served on a side dish plate, seafood stew with fake seafood, all shellfish were tiny, and horrible flavor. Lastly, the server, (blonde girl) was extremely inattentive, inefficient, took her good old time serving and returning to the table, and forgot 2 things we had asked. We also asked her to take a picture, she said she couldn't then, and never came back to do it. Needless to say, will never go back, nor will we recommend this place to anyone. read more

We decided to try Dewolf's Tavern for breakfast this weekend and found it to be much more than expected. I had the Shakshuka which had good presentation, tasty and more than adequate serving size. Service was excellent and the view included harbor scenes. There's no doubt that we will put this on our list of favorites. read more

I've watched for years as the quality of this beautiful restaurant has gone down and last night will be my last visit. The food probably started out as great concepts but we found everything over sauteed, under-seasoned and visually sloppy. As it was our anniversary, we were given a complementary dessert (a nice touch) which was laughably disgusting: a very old banana nut muffin cut in half, a tablespoon of ice cream on top and a handful of soggy popcorn scattered around the plate. What a delightful Sunday lunch at De Wolf Tavern. Hubs started with a seafood chowder that I was afraid he would try to lick the bowl. I had three little neck clams that were fresh and well shucked and a fried green tomato topped with lobster and avocado. We both chose sandwiches made with naan. His was filet mignon with cheddar and mine was pulled chicken. Both came with homemade chips and were so generous that we took half home. The highlight of our meal was finding a cab franc on the wine list from a vineyard on Long Island that we have visited. Although it was a bit of a pricey lunch it was well worth it. read more

Although the waterside location is nice, the food is mediocre and service very rude. I took my extended family here for dinner. My grandmothers told the waiter that their dishes were too salty. I tasted it and also found it too salty. Instead of taking the food back to the kitchen or comping the entrees, the waiter had an incredibly ridiculous and rude response: "if it is too salty, put some sugar on it". read more

Sat down stairs when I went to dinner with my sister, I haven't seen the upstairs but I love the historic feeling just from being on the lower level, it was really beautiful. The hostess seemed a bit like she couldn't be bothered, wasn't the friendliest, and spent a lot of time looking down at her phone however our waitress was very polite. My sister had a chicken sandwich that she said was delicious and I had steak, it was very good, but I was still hungry at the end of my meal. read more
