I was in the area and craving some Vietnamese food so I stopped here and picked up some food. It was delicious! The meat is seasoned really well. I had the beef banh mi which was flavorful. I did wish they used pickled carrots and radish in the sandwich like I'm used to but it was still good. I also tried the shrimp rolls and those were a fav. I def want to come back and try some noodle soups. read more

Well, I was taken back a bit by the location in a busy grocery store strip mall. What a diamond in the rough !! A cold dreary day called for a steaming bowl of Pho Tom (shrimp) and a pot of tea... Outstanding quality food, extremely fine-tuned dining experience. The decor, menu, presentation, it's done with the care and borderline obsession you'd see at a Disney park. Food is delicious, I had probably the best egg rolls and pho I've ever eaten. It's good enough that my girlfriend finished her entire bowl of pho despite having the cilantro soap gene. Plenty of flavor and seasoning, but not something that'll frighten a picky eater. Service took a little bit long. If that's the least good thing about here then I'm still happy. read more

My friend and I drove from New Haven to try this place because we were craving authentic, Vietnamese food! There are definitely not a lot of Viet places in CT so we were lucky this one was close by! For reference, my friend and I are both culturally Viet and from Boston/Southern CA. I believe this place was newly remodeled/renovated inside. It was very clean and I loved the aesthetic! One of the ladies that was helping us was definitely one of the owners and she was so sweet! The owners are actually Vietnamese so that is how you know you can trust them. They have a bunch of Viet dishes on the menu (pho, banh mi, bun, com) and much more but we were both craving bun bo hue so we decided to get that. And it was pretty legit! It wasn't the best, but it definitely got the craving satisfied. We both wished the broth was a little less sweet and more rich in flavor. While I was a fan of Phoenix Vietnamese Cuisine, DiBe Kitchen has somehow surpassed it in every aspect, from its renovated modern interior, and even to the quality of its food, which far exceeded my expectations. They've streamlined their menu, focusing on their signature dishes with added options like build-your-own bowls, expanded banh mi and vegetable choices, drinks, and even desserts. This updated menu, with dishes like the Philly cheese steak banh mi and veggie pho, clearly aims to appeal to a broader audience. They've also significantly increased their brand awareness by using branded bowls and takeout containers. The updated menu is more visually appealing and informative, with added pictures and descriptions, especially helpful for those unfamiliar with Vietnamese cuisine. I was initially concerned that all the recent updates they made aesthetically and the less traditional menu might mask potential shortcomings in food quality, but my worries were quickly dispelled once I tried the food. While Phoenix's bun bo hue was already excellent, DiBe has elevated it further. I had previously "critiqued" Phoenix's bun bo hue for being on the milder side, but DiBe's version is now spicier with even bolder flavors, and their pho and banh mi remains exceptional as before. I cannot recommend this place enough, and it deserves to be packed every night. I hope word-of-mouth brings in more customers, and I wish them success for years to come. read more

Went here for the first time after hearing friends rave about it, and I'm so glad we did. We ordered the pho and the bún bò Hue, and I was absolutely delighted by the broths-they were rich, flavorful, and authentic. Even my parents, who are usually very critical when it comes to Vietnamese food not tasting "just right," gave their approval. The portions were just right--not too big, not too small-and the prices were very reasonable. Everyone talks about their bánh mì, so we ordered one to go since we were already full. I also really liked that the menu isn't overly complicated; they keep it focused, which means the dishes they do serve are done really well. Service was excellent. When we arrived, the restaurant wasn't too busy, but by the time we left, it was a full house. Despite that, the staff kept up with both dine-in and takeout orders smoothly. The food was okay.The servers didn't understand or speak English well at all which made ordering problematic. They were inflexible and difficult. We tried to sit at an open table towards the middle of the restaurant. Instead they insisted we move to the table nearest the door with the freezing cold air blasting in each time someone entered. The table felt small and cramped with chairs packed closely together which felt claustrophobic. We didn't really feel comfortable or welcome here and wouldn't make a point of coming back. read more

I was craving pho on a cold Saturday morning and stumbled upon this place. I came not too long after opening and there were already other people dining, but the restaurant was really quiet. There was nice cafe music being played which contributed to a very nice and calm atmosphere to have a cozy bowl of soup. The interior is nice and clean. With modern wood finishes which remind me of Japanese restaurant interiors. I really like the variety of the menu and the large images which are very helpful to have an idea of what you're ordering. I ordered the beef pho and Thai tea. The pho was a nice clean flavor. It had that faint aroma of cinnamon and cloves that I really like in a pho. The meat servings were plentiful. I only took off one start because my preference is for my pho to have a deeper, richer umami flavor. The noodles were perfect nice and bouncy/ chewy. The Thai tea was nice to balance out the spice as I added some Siracha and jalapeños to give my soup some heat and acidity. The menu showed a tempting image of bahmi, so I ordered one to go. It was packaged so cute. The banhmi was DELICIOUS. They weren't stingy on the meat. The baguette wasn't breaking my teeth, and my favorite, the pickled veggies and cilantro added the perfect freshness. The pate they use is also really good. The banhmi was my favorite. I would recommend this place and I will be back for the banhmi especially. read more

I've been trying to find good pho for a while now and this is it! I only wish I found this place sooner. The broth was rich in flavor, the beef was abundant and the portion was huge. This is better than my usual pho spot in LA. It is absolutely worth the price! I had a few bites of my friend's bun thit nuong and the chicken was delicious! This location used to be Phoenix pho and I was a huge fan. I'm sad to see them go. I actually called the Phoenix pho phone number to place a to go order and didn't find out It was a new restaurant until I showed up. I ordered the chicken pho. When I picked it up, it smelled delicious the amount of food they give you is very generous however, the food is not as flavorful. It's packaged very well, rice noodles and meat in one and vegetables and another extra noodles in another, and then broth on its own however, for me, the broth was very beefy and sweet not the deep savory chicken broth that I'm used to with flavors of ginger and lemon grass and other Asian spices. The chicken was two different flavors of chicken. It was a one that was a normal poached, steamed white meat chicken and then there was another chicken on top of it. That had a sweet glaze to it which I didn't like either seems like both the broth and the chicken have this very sweet component and not a deep rich flavor that I'm used with Pho's. The restaurant is decorated well. The people are friendly however I wouldn't go back again, which is sad . Even though Pho has gained in popularity over the years it's getting harder and harder to find someone that makes a traditional Pho With deep Rich flavors. This has become one of my favorite restaurants of all time. The phó is outstanding, the broth is rich and flavorful. My favorite it the veggie phó with shredded chicken - a full 4 oz of shredded chicken breast and the soup is overflowing with fresh vegetables. Despite being on an unflattering plaza in Derby with Shoprite parking traffic, it is a very serene and welcoming ambience inside. I ordered takeout as my exploratory visit, but I wouldn't mind sitting down with table service next time. The bahn mi and bowl were an absolute hit with my wife and I and the inlaws. I think the Pho served here is from the Ha Noi region of Vietnam vs Saigon region (which Phoenix served). Saigon pho has a clearer broth and different toppings. Personally, I'm not used to chicken Ha Noi pho which contains egg and sautéed chicken However, the Bun Bo Hue is delicious! read more

This place looks very unassuming tuck ed away in a shopping center but it serves delicious food. I have had the pho and bahn mi sandwiches. They are both excellent. The restaurant has nothing that you could call ambience but appears to be very clean and the service is prompt. The staff member was still working on my sandwich while I arrived, which gave me an opportunity to scope out the scene. They have ample seating, clearly labeled, and marked ingredients which look super fresh, and an updated fountain beverage machine with quite a bit of options, as well as bottled beverages.
