Went in for a oil change/tire rotation on my Silverado, I had previously made the appt. The check in process was easy and fast. Truck was taken back as promised. The waiting area is awesome. It's not hidden away and the have a wide selection of beverages. Love that they have 3 large tv screens that shows the garage, so you actually see your vehicle as they are working on it. Went in there because I heard they had a good deal on oil changes, After I got my oil changed they recommended getting my tires changed, I did need them changed, but was going to go to a place that specializes in tires. The Service tech, I think his name was Sean, gave me the price rundown and I was surprised at the great prices they had on quality tires. My Silverado became un-drivable while driving home from work one night. I was able to get my truck into the dealer, however it was after the service department was closed. JT, a sales manager for the store was able to help me drop off my truck and get me into a replacement vehicle while they repaired my truck( which they did in one day). He didn't have to do this, but that is just the kind of people that work here. IT have purchased 2 cars here, and have all of my service done here also. The only reason they get one star is because they did take the car back. Spotted a low mile used car online, drove 2 hrs to see it. Drove it around the block and cut the deal. All pretty standard stuff. On the way home the low tire pressure light came on. Checked the tires, all pressure was good...Hmmmm. Didn't make it more than 50 miles and the check engine light came on....Hmmm number 2. Stopped for gas and noticed the transmission was shifting very harsh..... Oh oh.......Called the guy the next day and wanted to return the car. Tried being nice the first time, and also mentioned the car was for a new driver that may have trouble with limited visibility. Thought because it was purchased after hours the paperwork would not have been processed and we could work out a gentleman's agreement.The first answer was no, "the deal is done as soon as we push the button". A couple phone calls later they said that they would stand behind it and I could bring the car back for a refund less $400 for paperwork. I hated to lose $400, but better than spending thousands on car repair. Drove another 2 hrs to return the car, and this is where they went wrong. I was met at the door and told they had to make sure the car was doing what I said. I was introduced to some grumpy old dude they called the service manager. I explained what the car was doing, and the guy never said a word, just got in the car and drove away. We were ushered into the waiting area, and told it would only be a few minutes, and again reminded " I believe you, but we just need to check it out". After about 30 min of waiting, we are informed that the only thing wrong with the car was the check engine light, "its just the cam phaser". I guess it doesn't really need one of those. I asked about the transmission, and the guy just shook his head. REALLY !?!?!?! I said that it only did it after it was warmed up, but it was most definitely an issue. He very smugly dismissed my comments. For reference, I am a mechanical engineer that designs engines for a major manufacturer, and a very skilled mechanic in my own right. I am not just some average Joe. They did agree to take the car back, but changed the agreed upon cost to $500 (I guess they still made their profit), and made us wait another 20 minutes to get a receipt. This would have all been ok if they would have just done what they said they were going to do without all the extra drama. Saying they believe me, but then having to check it out after we get there. Making my wife and I feel like we did something wrong by complaining. Ignoring my input to help them avoid selling this car to the next guy without fixing it. As far as I am concerned the two sales guys I dealt with fit the stereo typical used car dealer, and the service manager dude has been in his job WAY too long. They all could stand to learn a few people skills. read more

Very arrogant people first off my aunt and I came there cuz she needed an oil change and a tire rotation so were in the service line and we're waiting for someone to acknowledge us someone finally did and we got out after my aunt told him what she was there for and he basically took the keys got in the car and drove off and left us standing there clueless. Didn't bother telling us where to go to sit. So we had to ask some random man where to go he pointed to the waiting room and we walk in and sit down someone was at least nice to enough to hold the door open for us so one star for that ｡^‿^｡ then we sat there for hours and the whole time the "workers" didnt do a thing all they did was sit there on the computer eating bagels and talking about the debate then one guy kept going to the bathroom like he had diaherrea. Then we finally had our car ready so when we were leaving the guy said heres your keys and youre all set. And were like wheres the car?. And the guy said oh its outside but i think its off to the side somewhere so idk but its out there have a good day they saw that my aunt was walking with a cane barely makin it and they parked it all the way on the other side of town. And its a maze to get out of there no signs tellin us where to go we had to find our way out by ourselves no idea where we were supposed to go. Not comin back here any time soon unless they get rid of these arrogant bagel eatin workers. Such a shame. read more

I dropped off my vehicle the night before expected service, didn't get it back until 3pm the next day was told that after my vehicle work was started they had other business to take care of.I keep up with my vehicles maintenance also consult other professional mechanics and photograph areas for repair as well as the whole vehicle before leaving it at a dealership.This is the second time I have been scammed.my vehicle was tested before I went there and i knew the problems to be fixed.a number of calls from the service writer???were test calls trying to sell me on problems that did not exist.Things like we have to" take off the grill" and telling me that there were things not hooked up and later told were broken.I told them to stop the "guess work" put it together and i picked up the vehicle.Yes i took picture and the before and after didn't match.Hoses that were connected were disconnected screws and bolts were missing. I noticed that a dealership that had so many rating stars was empty most of the time,I drive by twice a day sometimes more and consider the place an eyesore.These people are crooks and I have the pictures to prove it.You would get better mechanical service at White Castle. read more

They tell you what your car needs and they give you options so you can make the right decision. Very impressed with Service Manager. He is always on the drive talking to customers and will back his writers up if they are busy. Very rarely do you see a Service Manager willing to talk to customers, they usually hide in their office. Dramatically improved over the last 5-6 years. New amenities and technology, however they still maintain that personable small-town business feel. Customers are on a first-name basis. I wish to see this dealer sell more cars as they deserve to be the #1 volume Chevrolet dealer in Chicago. Keep up the great work! I had my tires changed and a car wash. It took them 4 hrs. When the car came back, the front of the car was missed from washing. They took it back for another 45 min to finish and did a terrible job in general. When I got in my car, the counsel was gone through with some small stuff missing. I told the service manager, Jim Barry, his response was "Do you want me to give you a couple bucks?". I've never been so affended. read more

First, I hate buying cars but it was time to get rid of my 18 year old (awesome) Chevy Blazer and my cute 2008 Saturn Sky convertible and get a newer SUV. I sold the Blazer outright and after trying to sell the Saturn, my fiance and I decided to trade it in. I wanted a specific color of a used Traverse with all the options. Found one with all I wanted at Wickstrom, which is pretty far from my home in Wilmette. Ventured out there and met Terrence. Had already had a really bad experience at Golf Mill Ford. Told Terrence I hated buying cars. He seemed to be a pretty straight shooter with not much bs. Sorry, but all successful sales people have a little bs. That only came up when it came time to discuss trade in values. That was the only bump in the road. The initial trade in offer was (in my opinion) insultingly low. I left, we kept in touch, and after a few days we arrived at a compromise. However, I only accepted the trade in offer because I felt like the Traverse asking price was really great. Overall, this was not a bad experience (I was dreading the whole process) and Terrence and the Traverse were great. I would definitely recommend Terrence as a salesman. read more

Dick Wickstrom Chevrolet sold me a nearly worthless extended service contract (VSC) for my 2012 Chevy Equinox. It cost $1,947. I purchased the vehicle on May 23, 2014, the vehicle had 29,348 miles on it at the time. When I looked at the printed out VSC the New Vehicle Term box had been checked. I asked one of the two sales people who had done all the paperwork, Finance Manager Scott Stevenson and Sales Manager Tony Hayes about it. I was told not to worry about. I still felt something was wrong, so I distinctly asked, this VSC will take the vehicle warranty coverage to close to 90,000 miles and I was told by one of them, it would. I don't remember which of the two I spoke with for that question, because it's been close to 4 years since I purchased the vehicle. Recently, I tried to get some warranty coverage done on the vehicle at 62,000 miles. Both front electric windows are running slow, the motors need replacing. I was told the vehicle was no longer under warranty. I spoke with Steven Stevenson and Tony Hayes on January 18, 2018. They refused my request. I then requested the dealership owner, Jared Wickstrom to call me the next day. He has never called. In a written response to my complaint to the state's Citizen's Advocate for the State of Illinois Attorney General's Office, Mr. Stevenson said, my asking about the vehicle warranty coverage extending to close to 90,000 was an embellishment. It wasn't an embellishment, it's the truth. I want the dealership to honor what they promised me, the VSC to 89,348 miles or 5 years from when they sold me the VSC. I've also filed this complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I've seen a lot of positive reviews for this dealership. I'm glad those individuals got great service. I have not had the same experience. read more

My husband and I will not take our cars anywhere else for service (mostly oil changes, tires replacement, etc.) simply because we trust Wickstrom. They have never taken advantage of us and have always been honest. They have remodeled and the place looks great. Everyone there is friendly and willing to help. This review is in regards to service, however, if I'm in the market for a new car, I would go here again based on my service experience. I bought a brand new 2012 Chevy Cruze 5 years ago from another Chevrolet dealer. I have no complaints against them, they were the first place that I started looking, and they made me a deal I couldn't say no to, so I went for it. 2 weeks before my 5 year powertrain warranty expired, my transmission took a dump. I'm not a car person, so I had no idea what was wrong with it, aside from the fact that it wouldn't shift out of first, and wouldn't roll backwards, even in neutral! I had it towed to Dick Wickstrom due to proximity and the reviews I'd read about it (the dealer I purchased from is a half hour away, and on top of possible transmission repairs, I didn't want to think about how much that tow would be!) From the beginning, I knew I made a great choice. I have been very busy at work and don't have much time to spend taking in my car, so I called in the morning and spoke with Terry and he knew it would be coming, said to just give them a call when the tow truck was on the way with my car, and they would get it checked out. So I did just that, called when the tow truck left our house, and everything went great. Terry even called me after the car was dropped off just to let me know it was there, safe and sound, and that they would likely get an idea of what was wrong the next day (it wasn't dropped off until afternoon, so I assumed it would take until the next day to get it apart). I did receive a call from Terry the next day, said they had found what went wrong, ordered parts, and that good news - it was covered under my original warranty! He asked if I needed any car or any other help, and I told him no, I was fortunate that I had a second car to borrow for as long as it took to fix mine. Throughout the next week, Terry called me several times to keep me updated of progress, and when he had to call to tell me that the test drive didn't go well and it would be a couple more days to diagnose what went wrong and fix it (this was over a weekend, so Sunday doesn't count as a "day" to repair!), he sounded genuinely sorry, and even asked again if I needed a rental in case whatever my car situation was had changed. I picked up my car 8 days after dropping it off (which I didn't think was bad for rebuilding a transmission), and it was running perfectly and was even beautifully washed and vacuumed (something the dealer I purchased from NEVER did in all the service I had done on it over 5 years). I picked it up in the evening and Terry was no longer there for the day, but I called him the next day to get an idea of what it was that went wrong, any additional warranties on these parts, if there was anything I needed to watch out for in the future etc. and he answered all of my questions perfectly and gave me detailed (but not technical) answers. This is perfect for me as I don't know a gasket from a spark plug. All in all, I WILL be back if anything happens to my car in the future. I assume most customers going into a service department at a dealership are not having the best day and likely take it out on the workers, making it very easy for them to be grouchy and hate their jobs. Terry was always pleasant, helpful, and the amount of updating he provided was phenomenal. Great job to the Dick Wickstrom service team!! I felt sick when I thought about having to replace or rebuild a transmission, but this team made it painless, easy, and made me feel very comfortable! read more

I had just recently purchased a 2012 Chevy Cruze from the dealership and a service light had came on. I called the Service Department that day and they were able to take a look at my car the very next morning. I was notified that it was a thermostat issue and that it would be taken care of promptly. I was at the dealership for about an hour and had coffee while I waited for my vehicle to be serviced. They sold me and my mother a lemon. They are not registered with the BBB, so I should have known better than to take a chance and trust them. I had to deal with Mr. Conover, yes, that's his real name and the Manager, Tony, to close the deal, and what a rotten deal it was. After driving the car only a few times locally, the service engine light went on, the car started shaking and the whole left front end came apart, which was obviously glued since you can see the wire mesh behind it, which was confirmed by my local Auto Body Repair Shop. I also took it to my local and trusted Car Repair Shop for a full diagnostic test and the cost for the repairs cost more than half of what this used car was sold and paid for at WC!!! The car is not safe to drive, so now I have filed a report to the BBB and have my lawyer helping me to communicate with WC, since Tony the WC Manager, does not really care that we were sold a lemon, and very disrespectful to top it off. Wickstrom Chevrolet in Roselle, IL are full of professional Conmen, and that is the truth, so don't be fooled by all the good reviews. Our salesman was very attentive and really went out of his way to build a relationship with us since our previous guy had left. Only thing negative is You guys need a new printer that prints paperwork a bit quicker than the dinosaur you are currently using. ;). Buying 2 cars in a day means a lot more paperwork and ancient printer added unnecessary extra time. You guys did a great job working together, though, to get us out of there.
