I ate at Dickey's a couple of times in 2024. It was OK for a chain restaurant. I had a desire for BBQ last week and thought I'd get some items to go. I ordered a pound of brisket and a half-rack of ribs. When I got home and opened both I couldn't tell which was which. Seriously. They were both horrible. Food was not fresh seemed it was sitting hours before I bought it. I ordered half rack bbq ribs. 2 plates of brisket with beans and Jalapeño and green beans, mashed potatoes with beacon 3 drinks about $50.00 plus an 20% tip on top of that. The guy working there was just plain nice and awesome personality. I ordered to go. Unfortunately my ribs looked like rubber way overcooked and the food was cold this was my first time trying this food it smelled great from outside the restaurant. Beans were spicy I liked them but had some kick so those be aware of it if you're not into spicy hot foods. Brisket was tender but cold for $50.00 I expect some quality food from a bbq place. I don't think I'll be stoping back on the way back I'm from California on a road trip to New Orleans. Very disappointed we had a 5 family members they all complained how bad their food was too. The positions were very small too 3 bites for the one slice of brisket you get. I actually excepted a bit more of a serving when you see the pictures of the order on the main menu. When you receive it looks nothing like you ordered it gets very upsetting and hurts your pocket book. We did not have time to return or get a new order as it was a quick stop and go. This place appeared to be closed at first glance. The drive through sign and order board was gone and outside looked rough. The brisket was dry. They no longer have Turkey, and were out of some sides. They put spicy sauce on my sandwich instead of sweet. So bad. read more

We ordered 3 meals on the phone and went to get them. My mistake was not checking the bags. We ordered 1 three meat meal, 1 two meat meal and a Westerner sandwich. There was absolutely NO bbq sauce anywhere! The Texas toast was only cooked on one side, the fries were mushy, the brisket was flavorless and they did not put cheese on the sandwich as requested. To add flavor to the meat we used Famous Dave's bbq sauce. Thank goodness I keep a bottle on hand. Do yourself a favor and find another place down the road. read more

This place was quite, not very busy at this time that I write this. Always love some Dickey's BBQ food. We stopped in here 15 mins before closing (which I usually try not to do, but it was stop or drive to Tucson starving). The workers gracious and smiling even though we arrived so late. The choices were still all available and fresh. The sides were very good and their BBQ sauces are amazing.The lobby was very clean and the property was well kept. This review is for the Benson, AZ location on 775 N Ocotillo Rd. We had experienced the worst food we've ever eaten. Manager recommended the special of the day, a pulled pork sandwich with pickles and onions w/2 sides for $13/ea. In order to sell his pitch he offered us a very warm sample of the bbq meat saying it was the same meat used in the sandwich. He said, "these sandwiches are to die for". I didn't think he meant it literally, but I was wrong. Our sandwiches had maybe 2 tablespoons of meat, no onions, two wrecked pickles and the bread, one sandwich had burnt bread the other was barely toasted. Side ceaser salad was a cup of wilted Romain lettuce w/a packet of Kraft dressing. The Mac & Cheese was paste and tasted like it had mayonnaise in it. The meat was old, cold and tasted not right while drowned in sauce. Other family members also had very old brisket and ribs. Ramsey would shut this place down. Not recommended. Very high priced for fast food. 5 meals for over $80 w/out drinks. Update: After eating what we could our stomachs felt like we had a bowling balls in them. Several of us were in the bathroom at all hours of the night/morning "dying" for Dickey's food. read more

Down in Benson today Sunday found most mom and pops restaurants closed but Dickeys was opened. The staff were Not wearing facemasks either were most of the customers entering. Tables were spread out. The signs on the windows misleading as this is a franchise. This location is NOT family owned and it is currently for sale looking for new franchised owner. Food okay small portions. Sides are not hot cold mac n cheese doesn't taste good. Free ice cream made with no milk so no creamy taste rather frozen yogurt taste. Meat was overly dry have to use sauce. Nice staff. Traveling can really be cumbersome when you want decent food. Dickey's is my McDonald's and Starbucks for BBQ. It's a great go-to place. I know what I am going to get. It should always taste a certain way and its comfort food. 1200 miles from home and Dickey's still doesn't disappoint. The food was fresh, hot and tasty. With few options in town (Benson, AZ) within a reasonable price range, we got a great meal for an affordable cost. I had the 3-meat plate (Turkey, Sausage and Brisket) with Mac-n-Cheese and mashed potatoes. I ate every single bit. My wife had the 2-plate (brisket and pork ribs) with the same sides. We had to have pulled pork. Which we all love but 2 of us wanted the brisket. Out of brisket. We took our order home and were all hungry and ready to eat! The pulled pork was soooo dry. This was our first time eating at Dickey's Barbecue Pit and the last. For the amount we paid, the food was disappointing to say the least. They were out of different sides, the fries arrived one by one because they have a fryer the size of the one I have at home. Because we were waiting on the sides, by the time we got our food it was cold. We were hungry so we ate it since we were on the road and out of options and we had paid over $80. I ordered the brisket taco (see photo). It was the size of my palm. It was literally a tiny soft flour tortilla, sliced yellow cheese. Keep in mind that when I opened it I thought $2.95 for that?! I added the jalapeños, onions and BBQ sauce to try & dress it up. If you are traveling 10 west and you are looking for some place to eat, keep going for another couple miles and you'll run into a McDonalds. read more

We ordered $8 Giant Bakers and were charged $10 each, when we pointed out the posted price the staff placed a phone call and then said they would "make an exception this one time" and would give us a "discount". Instead of honoring the posted price they made it seem like they were doing us a favor. Upon further investigation we discovered the very same Giant Baker is $11.50 for online orders. Additionally, the table cloths, windows and floors were dirty. Thankfully, it wasn't until after we ate that I noticed a dried out hunk of meat on the floor near several dead flies on the windowsill. All the lights outside were off, but we called to make sure they were open and ordered for carry out (dining room was closed due to COVID). There's nowhere else in the area for BBQ, so this place has the corner on the market. I haven't been to any other Dickey's in this chain., so I don't have any of those to compare to. Not the kind of place where you pay by the pound, but they do have the normal selection of brisket, pulled pork, ribs, etc. I got ribs, pulled pork and the brisket. Overall pretty good, but the brisket was a little dryer than I prefer. It fell apart, whereas I prefer a nice and juicy brisket that holds together a little better. It did have a decent flavor, however. As long as this place stays open, I'll be back fairly often. read more

This location is OUTSTANDING!!! Went here 3 times during my week stay in AZ and all three times was GREAT!!! The staff was very friendly. the food was OMG!!! (eyes rolling back in head) and even though I was close to closing time two of those times and sat in dining room, they treated me like it was the middle of the day. A complete turn around from what I was used to here back home. The people in the area really need to support gem of a quick serve style restaurant....
