This was my second meal at Dickey's bbq. The staff was pleasant and the restaurant was clean. This time I ordered the special which was the pork ribs and I tried the original sauce and the Carolina sauce which were both very good. I preferred the Carolina sauce but that's a personal preference. The ribs were "fall off the bone" good. So I am giving them four stars this time. There was significantly more smoke flavor than my last visit. I look forward to them upping the smoke flavor in the future. I'm coming back again and I hope you do too. Come get some BBQ! read more

So I REALLY hate to do this but it must be said. My husband and I decided to go to Dickey's because we had a coupon buy one SANDWICH and get one free at the same price or less (pictures below) We had questioned if it would still work with a sandwich plate and the cashier took the coupon back to the manager FRANKIE and asked, he relayed thru the cashier back to us that no, we could only use it for a sandwich. We were kind and decided to get a sandwich. When we went to ring up the cashier said we could not use it because we did not get a pulled pork sandwich. WHAT!? You said sandwich, neither did you OR THE COUPIN specify it was ONLY for a pulled pork sandwich. Yes, we did order the western sandwich, listed under the top two sandwiches on the menu board. When I KINDLY asked to speak with the manager he wouldn't come out and talk to me. I was not ugly or acting angry, I just wanted to point out that you can not print a coupon then not honor it! He never came out so unfortunately I had a VERY unsatisfactory experience and we will not be eating at Dickey's on Ridenour EVER again. SORRY OWNER! You can't have a manager that is not customer service trained. Their was a man that came in behind us that had a problem as well and the manager didn't come out and speak with him either. We didn't stay to see the outcome. 2 STARS because the the sandwich was good! Fries were not cooked enough.HAD Frankie come out and spoken with us this review would not be here. 2 days in advance, we ordered $332.55 worth of food. Got confirmation emails with confirmation numbers. Card was charged. Then, the day of company party, were told they are fully booked and won't get our door just hours before the party. When asked about a manager - he's out till Monday. Want a refund refund? Our Choices: I had the two meat plate: turkey breast and brisket with mac n cheese and fried okra. Mrs. also had the two meat plate: turkey breast and marinated chicken breast with green beans and sweet potato casserole. Our son had the Westerner sandwich with spicy cheddar sausage and brisket along with mac n cheese. Our Impressions: We universally agreed that the meats were cooked to perfection. The brisket was tender, the chicken and turkey were moist and everything was filled with a smoky flavor that can only come from slow cooking. Were were also impressed with the sides, but the mac n cheese was the biggest hit. Would we have this meal again? We all say yes. Our Thoughts: Dickey's is a chain barbeque, but the friendly staff and the delicious food will quickly make you forget about the cookie-cutter feel of the restaurant. With ate dine-in regularly but we've also had catering for various events to our home. They are consistently good and we had a minor issue recently but Tiffany eagerly took care of the minor issue and took care of our catering event and everything was wonderful. She personally insisted on being the one to deliver and set up to ensure that we had a great lunch party. Just had my first Dickey's experience today. Their waffle fries were delicious. I would NOT advise anyone try their pulled pork sandwich. It ruined my appetite. More than half of the "meat" in the sandwich was fat. Disgusting! I've had pulled pork before so I know there is always going to be a little fat, but two big strands of fat was too much. Just tried Dickey's for the first time and I'm impressed. Got the pulled pork plate with fried okra and Mac n cheese. Pulled pork flavor is great and not too dry. Fried okra is delicious and better than I expected. Mac and cheese is also great. Great food and friendly staff. They smoke their BBQ in house, fresh, daily. The ribs are insanely good. Fantastic BBQ! I had the chopped beef brisket & spicy cheddar sausage, both were so good! The sauce is served warm & is really great. I tried the potato salad & jalapeño beans...beans were awesome. First time eating here and it was pretty good. I'd give it a 3.5 rating, but that's not an option. Pulled pork had a good smokey flavor and we really liked the sauce. My husband got the ribs and really enjoyed them. They were larger than most ribs we usually get at other BBQ places. Side were Mac n Cheese and BBQ Beans. The Mac n Cheese was ok, but I make homemade goodness so it's hard to compare - theirs is more velveeta cheesy. BBQ beans needed more flavor, but I added more sauce and they were good. The best part was the pork, the food was pipin' hot and the sweet tea was good southern sweet tea. We'd go back again. read more

I like Dickey's for a quick bbq dinner. Their weekday specials are really nice and reasonably priced. The ribs are a hit or miss. Sometimes they are just amazing, other times I can't even eat them they taste so bad. Instead of gambling on ribs, I suggest getting the pulled pork or Texas style brisket. The sausage is delicious also. The Westerner sandwich is a favorite. If you eat in you get free ice cream for dessert! The guys at Dickey's are always friendly and attentive to customers. The food here is exceptional. I went there. After seven on a Sunday night, they were sold out of everything except the Ribs and the pulled pork without hesitating, I opted for the ribs. They served five very nice, fall off the bone tender, pork ribs. The sauce was sweet and very delicious. Theses were some of the best ribs I've had in quite a while. I had potato salad, homemade, and the fried okra. Both were fine. The decor is traditional juke joint, which is all the better because this is a down home sort of place. Nothing made this joint stand out to me. The food was good and the pulled pork was juicy, but it didn't seem anything separated this restaurant from other BBQ food. I would go there again because it's so close to home, but I can't say what makes Dickey's so special. read more

Everything's bigger in Texas..... especially the flavor of the Bar b Que. I recently returned to the Atlanta area from Texas, and am very pleased to find that Dickeys has a new location nearby. The menu is distinctly Texan. There are things like brisket and sausage that us Yankees way up north in Atlanta don't seem to be able to find here. Yummy food I had the rib plate and onion strings and baked beans. The ribs were tender BBQ sauce was good. Onion strings were a little burnt but still good. My parents had the green beans and said were bland but the potato salad and loaded mashed potatoes were good. Overall the meat was good but sides might need a little help. Really had high hopes for this place based off of what I've heard and how much I love Bar-B-Que, but the few times I've given them a try they can't seem to get my order right. Today I gave them a 3rd chance but yet again my order was wrong. It wasn't too off so I wasn't that upset until I called and their "manager" only argued with me to tell me it's the right thing when I'm literally staring at the food and it's obviously wrong. The food itself is a little better than mediocre. I'd say this is probably a 2.5-3 Star place for the food, but after 3 chances and all having something wrong I'd give it less than a star if possible. read more

I've frequented Dickey's on a few occasions. After my last visit, I won't be coming back. The 1/2 slab of ribs I ordered came without the rolls that initially accompanied my order back when they first opened, and when I questioned the staff about them, they told me...rolls never came with 1/2 slabs of ribs. The was it was said by the counter person was as if I were crazy. I didn't appreciate that, as it is a well known fact that rib restaurants give bread to accompany 1/2 or full slabs, and as I mentioned they did give the rolls when they first opened...I felt it was a bait and switch. Also the price of the ribs have gone up, I guess in line with the economy, but to go up on the prices and not give the rolls.... The potato salad at Dickey's is dill based, and is horrible. Avoid it at all costs. read more

I love this BBQ joint! I love the staff and the staff love me!!! Unfortunately, I have to pass this place to come home or to leave my complex! Which = danger for my diet! Wide variety of meats and side items. You also get all you can eat FREE ICE CONE/CUP and pickles with every visit! I absolutely love this place! Don't let the fake-ish corporate decor fool you--this is real time bbq. The brisket is fantastic both chopped and sliced and most of the sides are great too. Top it off with free soft serve and you've got a winner. UPDATE: As a relatively frequent customer, I've noticed a definite consistency problem with the quality of meat varying from visit to visit -- especially the brisket. Sometimes overly fatty, sometimes nearly unpleasantly chewy. Oddly, it also seems that the *quantity* is changing which is odd given the fact that they weigh everything. Doesn't make sense but both my wife and I have separately noticed this. The BBQ salad used to be a constant recommendation to friends and family but lately it's been inconsistent enough that they are on temporary probation while we check out some other local BBQ joints. Another minus, although it's probably good news from the business's perspective: it gets quite crowded, noisy, and chaotic at lunch time -- enough so that the dining experience is impacted. I would almost prefer fewer tables then literally bumping around hoping your food doesn't get knocked to the floor. read more
