Went here Wednesday night. Ordered it online through their website was told it would be a 35 minute wait. I get there no order was received waited 10 minutes for the workers to get it sorted out with the manager over the phone. Then another 20 minutes for it to be prepared then I get to my place 30 minutes away to see they forgot an entire meal. Called was told the entire order would be refunded by owner. I visited here today and i must say i wasn't solely impressed . Food (3.8) : The food was balanced not overly seasoned but not under seasoned. The pro to this is food not being overly seasoned so not too salty and if it's too bland you can add salt, pepper, etc. Cleanliness (5.0) : The inside was very clean and organized. Although dark interior like most pit houses, it didn't reek of a dewey odor. No insects or trash lying around. Soda machine was well maintained. Customer Service (5.0) : The customer service was great. They greeted as i came, as well as when i left. They for sure weren't slow with the orders. Thank heavens there's a BBQ place up here! The meats are smoked on site and the meat is incredibly tender. I love their beef brisket and pulled pork. I like the fact that I can choose the sauce I prefer. The Mac is okay, reminds me of KFC. It would be amazing if they upped their game on it but it's a chain so... The customer service is great. She repeatedly said doing it that way saved us like a dollar and sixty cents....I tried explaining the math but she remained stuck in her narrative, so maybe there is a bonus for pit boss deals sold, as I didnt even see that listed on their menu. Baked potato was huge and well cooked,but came w like 1 Tb of sour cream, 1 heaping Tb of cheese and like 2 Tsp of green onion. For a gynormous potato. When I went back and asked for more sour cream and cheese, she said it would be a wait of 5 min as she had to prepare it...??????? The Dickeys bbq at Yucca valley was not good. The brisket was very very dry. There was hardly any meat on the ribs. I've had ribs at other barbecue places and they were huge and tender. These ribs had no rib tips which is the best part. I'm not sure whether I ordered correctly or whether they just don't serve them with the rib tips. (Maybe they were baby back ribs instead of spare ribs) not sure. The menu lists them as ribs and the bones were large so I assume they were spare ribs. This will be my first and last time going to a Dickeys bbq pit anywhere. read more

My family and I like to eat here once or twice a month the food is so good. Their ribs, pulled pork and brisket are amazing. The green beans are perfectly seasoned and mac and cheese is great. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone visiting Yucca Valley. read more

Came in to grab lunch and was going to get 3 sliders and 2 sides and a drink alacarte. So bare with me while I do some math.... Sliders are 1.99 sides are 2.25 and drinks are 2.75 So 1.99 times 3 is $6 2.25 time 2 is $4.50 And the drink for $2.75 The clueless girl behind the register offered me the pit boss special to "save money" this includes the sliders and 2 sides for 11.99. I asked if this included the drink and was told yes. Once i had paid and looked at the receipt i noticed I was charged for the drink too...so i was charged 11.99 for meal plus 2.75 for drink. If you do the alacarte option it would've been cheaper so I was lied to and when i asked the girl she just shrugged and said a half ass sorry....dont like to be petty but because of the few dollars and bad customer service I wont be back read more

Good BBQ for the price you'll get what you pay for, here, thats not a bad thing the prices aren't outragous and the portions are of a well-off size. The staff is friendly and up beat. The atmmosphere is very pleasing and comfortable to spend some time in either while you're chowing down on your meal or waiting in line to do so. Occasionally they run out of certain meat selections but thats not too much of a bummer because the other selections are all up to par. Came here because myself and two colleagues were forced to do a staff training down in Yucca Valley. Since it was my first time in this region, I'll start with explaining the area a bit. Yucca Valley is basically an armpit. Oh well, I guess that summed that up. So anyway finding food in these parts is like waiting for a miracle to happen. With very little options we ended up here at Dickeys. The inside has a pretty casual feel to it, it is nice and dark inside so I liked that piece. The staff all seemed up beat and friendly. My issue with this place is that there isn't much options for vegetarians. Now I know you might be thinking- why would a vegetarian go to a BBQ place?! Again slim pickings people. So I went with a salad- pretty much the only thing I could do. And did a side of Mac and cheese. The salad was standard. Can't say anything stood out as blowing my socks off or anything. I wouldn't order it again not come here again, I'd rather starve. The Mac and cheese had the same consistency as KFC's creamy Mac and cheese. So if you're into that thick texture than you'd love it. My colleagues said their food was okay. They got pulled pork and some other meat from the menu. Idk think you have to be a meat eater for this place, but even then seems a bit overpriced for BBQ. read more

Love the atmosphere and esthetics of this place- I consider it to be a little gem in the desert. The staff has always been friendly and helpful when we've visited and the food has always been great. It is pricier than your average "fast food" joint, but the quality is far better than most chain restaurants. The only reason I'm giving it four stars is because there is no ice cream machine like the rest of the Dickey's locations I've been to. The free soft serve is something I've always looked forward to going to Dickeys, so the fact that this location doesn't have one is a big bummer. Besides that, everything else is great. read more

Rant- I have eaten @dickeysyuccavalley a few times. Love it. But we waited in line for quite a while tonight only to get up to the counter to order and to find out they are out of chicken. Dickys This is my first time eating at this establishment. I was told that it was gonna be expensive but I didn't believe it till I tried it myself. We paid for a 2 meat plate with 2 sides and a drink. Me and my husband decided to share our lunch. When we got our food, it was tiny. It needed flavor most definitely. Paying $20 for one meal, that small portions was not worth it at all. Tastes should always be there. I felt like it was missing it and it just wasn't on point. Bbq should be something that you would long for. Their bbq sauce was nothing special at all. It tastes generic. One normal one, the other one tastes like they added sugar and the last tastes like they just added pepper flakes. Although the staff was semi friendly, I wish there was a warm welcoming. The place though looked like a generic bbq place. There was a part of the restaurant that sort of bothered me. There is a picture of a cow and the meat parts but when you look in their menu, theres only one kind of beef which is the brisket. It would have been nice if they added more steak options. I do not know if I would go back to this place because there are other places that people can eat steak in. If maybe they add more beef options I would. read more

I dont know what it is but the one meat plate used to be so much food that it would give me literal meat sweats. I used to have to take breaks from eating! Anyway I went to this location and got the one meat plate and inhaled it in like 10 minutes! I dont know if their portions got smaller or if the pandemic has upped my portion tolerance or what but totally did not feel satisfied. This review is based on my first and only experience. I originally came here based on a recommendation from one of my co-workers. The food here was amazing. I did show up about an hour to closing so I completely understood that they were sold out of ribs The pricing is definitely reasonable for the amount of food that you are given. My favorite food that I ordered was the brisket. I wasn't a big fan of the pulled pork initially but once I added the sweet bbq sauce, it added another level a flavor to both the brisket and the pulled pork. My only complaint and the reason for 4 stars in lieu of 5 was the fact that they didn't have any Mac n cheese and they kept telling the individuals who asked for it that it would be about 25 minutes even after time had passed for about 10 minutes and the answer remained the same. I still ordered it because I love Mac n cheese. It took about 30 minutes after we ordered. But still great and I will definitely return. read more

Sadly after trying this place 4 maybe 5 times, enough. There are way too many common offerings in the other franchises we have visited, such as the reusable yellow cup. Bring it back for free refills. Not here $2.75 which is an incredible profit margin. No soft serve. The fluffy biscuits are not here they are hard and flat not baked here. The meats are salty and dry. Good smoked meats don't need to be smothered in sauce. This does. We were excited for the new place. But just with all the same hard earned money spent on bad food. The one star is there for the workers that are trying to really make the customers happy. They are always friendly. That's worth a million stars. Franchise owner. Help this location. Came across this place and decided to grab some dinner here with my gfs. We took them all to go but there is plenty of seating inside had you want to stay for dinner. You order at the counter and by the time you get to the register, the food is ready for you! I opted for the two meats and two sides. I got the ribs and brisket with mac n cheese and a Caesar salad. The ribs were my fave! Literally felt right off the bones and were super juicy: 4/5. The brisket was DRY and super salty. I paired it with the sweet BBQ sauce and it was still meh: 2/5. The mac n cheese, also pretty salty and mushy. Not the best, only 2/5. The Caesar salad was okay. Just average, nothing to be totally wow'd about: 3/3. Though the food was whatever, the service was GREAT. Tayler, the cashier who helped us, went above and beyond to make sure we got our orders, any sides we asked for, answered our questions, etc. She even was super patient about taking a picture of us too, haha. Where do I start? -For starters this isn't actual BBQ like Papas Smokehouse further in Yucca so don't expect meat with any resemblance of smoke flavor or color to it. -The portions were insanely small, the meat shouldn't be smaller than the side it comes with. The pork and chicken were each finished with about 3 fork trips a piece not even kidding. -We paid 15 bucks for a meal that would barely feed one person. Even though the "special" said 2 meats, and 2 sides which you would think would be meant for two people especially with it being priced at almost 15 bucks. In closing, dont waste your time if you want actual BBQ and even normal sized portions. You can make the same thing at home, just throw em in the oven with salt and pepper and have some generic BBQ sauce to cover up the boring meat. This is a brand new restaurant. I came in sound 8:30 and I was the only one here. The customer service was excellent and I hope it wasn't because they didn't have anything else to do. I've eaten in many different Dicky's so I'm very familiar with their menu. This is completely different. They still Have all of the bbq meats but nothing fried. One other difference, and I think it's a mistake, no I've cream. Yep, that's what I did. Not a big deal for me but for families I think it will be a big deal. Kids went that free ice cream cone. Explain to them how corporate wants to try a new concept. All in all it was a good experience. Staff was good and the food was good. Not so sure about the menu change..It doesn't affect me because I'm a creature of habit and what I order is still on the menu. But I know some people won't be happy about it. One thing about franchises is consistency. I like knowing if I go into a McDonald's and order a Big Mac that it will be the same where ever I am. That's how I feel about Dicky's. Good luck to them. I had a good experience. Yes, the wait was long - but I have waited LONGER for mediocre food. The food is fast once you order, and it may not be the most amazing barbeque because it is catering to a "fast food" crowd, but it was pretty good. The sides seem to be a side-note, and not as great. The brisket and pulled pork is what I had, and both were quite tasty. The sauces were also pretty damn good. And a sandwich for under 8 bucks gets my vote. I have been to Dickey's in Yucca Valley three times since they have opened, and my only complaint is that once (on the weekend) they were too crowded. Personally I like the ribs (short ribs). I think they are on par with what Willy Boy's Saloon use to serve, and that they are better than what is served at Apple Bee's in Yucca Valley. Compared to Papa's, I think they are better. I have also eaten at Papa's twice. In regards to Papa's I did not think they were good enough to leave a good review, but I also did not think they were bad enough to write any review). Right now the only restaurant I would go to for short ribs in Yucca Valley is Dickey's. I can also speak for the brisket and pulled pork as both being excellent. Since I found the sides to be good (but not spectacular) I usually just order their sliders or tacos as my sides. This is how I tasted their brisket and pulled pork.
