My hubby and myself decided to try out Dickies Barbecue today. Got there around 1:00 pm. There were about 6 couples sitting at tables spread throughout the store. We walked in and heard the staff SCREAM at the top of their lungs...WELCOME TO DICKIES and continued to yell as we made our way to the front to read the menu! They were yelling so loud we couldn't we couldn't understand them. We finally ordered, I got the Special, pulled pork sandwich with 1 side. Hubby got the brisket with one side! We found a table up near the front of the ordering line. Every time a new guest came in the screaming started, as the menu in the wrong spot over the kitchen area instead of along the wall to the order area. Very annoying to guest eating! My pulled pork was barely warm, too salty, dry and not much flavor. My side was potato salad, which was the same grade as grocery store bought from a giant plastic bucket! My hubby's wasn't much better! His brisket was a tad warmer than mine, same potato salad! Also, while sitting eating, we heard cursing from behind the counter! Not professional whatsoever! I don't normally write Yelp reviews but I went here last night for my son's 10th birthday because he loves BBQ - been here maybe 10 times... food has always been great! Although the workers have changed a few times, the Service has been amazing every time I've gone. AND... there wasn't a lot of people there last night so they were pretty cool about us unwrapping presents there. read more

Pretty good bbq, but I think it needs a bit stronger flavor. The brisket is excellent. I'm not a fan of pulled pork, but my wife has declared it really good. I really go for ribs but they think that a rub consists of just salt. Not so good. read more

I love barbeque but don't eat it as often as I would like due to high calories, etc. Went to Dickey's to get a pulled pork sandwich. Staff was nice but what a mushy, underwhelming tasting pile of nothing. Topped with a stale bun. Boy do I miss papa's smokehouse! A local inlaw recommended J.T. Saloon and after getting there the mouth began watering for BBQ. Unfortunately we had granddaughter with and it was 21 & over after 4. Passed Dickie's on the way do turned around. Dinner time on a Friday and we we're the only ones there. Maybe should have reconsidered. But we we're hungry. Being our first visit here, the girls played it safe with pulled pork sandwiches with loaded bakers. They loved them. Mine was a two meat platter with ribs and smoked turkey. Ribs were flavorful and fall off the bone but the turkey was from a loaf and had the consistency of Spam. Total gross out. I had read what others said about the brisket so avoided it. Maybe next time I'll stick with ribs or leave the kiddo home and try the Saloon. read more

I came in they were on a big order. I waited... and waited.... 5 minutes of being ignored. My order was to go. 1/2 & 1/2 that comes with 2 sides, cornbread, and a drink in the yellow cup (that's now smaller). $19.20 . What I got was: 1/2&1/2. Edging and fat included in my order (think she mixed my cut with scraps) , chicken was 3 slim slices, ordered cornbread, got a roll. Sweet tea was soured and the unsweetened tea burnt my tongue (not sure WHAT was in it). No napkins, no utensils, no butter. No smiles on employees faces. Man what a waste and disappointment. The bbq here is amazing and always fresh. You have to try the macaroni and cheese and bbq beans. Never been disappointed yet and always love recommending this place to people who are visiting. The drink machine inside is cool as well. read more

I avoid going here because of the older guy with glasses. He is extremely rude and has a terrible attitude. I love Dickies but after getting served by this rotten soul it just puts a bad taste in my mouth. I also wanted to say that I've only went in this establishment twice in the past year and a half and each time this guy i just treats me terrible. I was stopping through town to visit my grandchildren and stopped by Dickey's and the young girl working with glasses was very nice a first, I asked a simple question about the meat and she was very rude, after I asked for her name and she refused to give it me I then asked to speak with the manger or owner and she told me to leave and call back when she's not there I then left and called the next day around 5:30pm and the girl from the previous day I spoken to was the same girl on the phone when I called and I started to proceed with what happen and she hung up, I will not put up with that crap I do NOT recommend this place!! They are running this place with very poor customer service. read more

This is absolutely the best Barbecue in Yucca Valley. Their establishment is nice and clean, the staff are friendly and greet you when you walk in the door, and the atmosphere is fantastic. They have a pretty nice selection of meats and sides to choose from, though my personal favorite is their Cheddar Jalapeno sausage. If you've never been to Dickeys before, you absolutely have to try the loaded baked potato casserole as well. It is fantastic! And don't forget to try the spicy BBQ sauce if you like your barbeque with a kick! One drawback is that this is a privately owned Dickeys and so they don't always honor coupons sent out via text message from corporate, and other times when they they do they change the terms and conditions. Like, instead of buy one get one free, it becomes buy 2 get 1 free. They are also a bit on the pricey side, but well worth the cost if you love good Barbeque. And lastly, they don't seem to offer all of the same menu items as other locations. My grandmother absolutely adores the sliced Ham from the Dickeys down in Palm Springs but they don't offer it at our local restaurant. And if they do it's only a seasonal offering or available with catering. When they first opened they also didn't have the Jalapeno baked beans, but now they do, so their menu may change in the future and this may not always be true. Just be aware that the stuff you see on the corporate website may not be available locally. All of that said, I really love this place. If you enjoy a good barbeque or spicey foods you have to try Dickeys. read more

People confuse this with fast food. It is not. This a BBQ joint so to pay anything less than 12 dollars a plate means you are getting crap quality. Get there early if you want any food. We've been there 4 times and have been disappointed every time. Staff is untrained and don't want to be there, orders are missing items every time, on two occasions we tried to order a chicken plate but they were out of chicken (at noon) another time I ordered tacos and when I got home they had no meat! I have photos to prove. Another time they were out of potatoes and the last time they screwed up our order again... the manager sighs if he sees a customer coming through the door. He does this every time!! The food is good if you can get any. It's unfortunate because we were looking forward to a new BBQ place. It is also pretty pricey for BAKED BBQ not smoked. It always ends up costing us around $45 for two people because you must buy your drinks and sides for an extra cost plus they always push the side upgrades on you. read more

I don't usually comment on chain restaurants, but I had to for this particular location. We got dinner to go this past Friday, and man, was it good! I've eaten at the Montclair location before and the food was beyond gross. I got the pulled pork sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese, and the green beans. Everything was super fresh, and super tasty! Their barbecue sauce was really good, too! I think we will make this our new Friday dinner spot. read more

I'm not sure what the other reviewers were expecting. This is a nationwide chain and this store is a really good one at that. Dine in or take away the restaurant is simple, clean and organized. Service is friendly and efficient. The smoked meats are done right. The tacos are killer even my picky 11 YO likes them (which is saying a lot). The brisket sandwich is tasty and easy to eat in the car. This is a good example of what chain eateries can be. Go there and try for yourself. If stopping on the way through town we were there less than 10 mins start to finish. read more

We come here a couple times a month. I like that I have the option to order online and pick up it makes it easy for me. A couple of things that made my review a 4/5 is I got my 2 year old a kids meal with brisket. His brisket was all fatty meat and he wouldn't eat any of it and I don't blame him I wouldn't eat it either, so now I make sure to ask for non fatty meat for his, because that was a waste of a meal for him. Another issue is that every time I've gone it always seems like I have to ask for something. Last night I had to ask for a kids lid and the little cups to put sauce in. Purchased the Prime Rib Feast for Thanksgiving 2016. When placing the order we were told that the feast came with gravy and a Pecan Pie. This was told to us buy Stephen. When we picked up our order that cost $145.00, we were told no gravy and no Pecan Pie by Stephen!!! They decided to give us one gravy but wanted to charge $6.00 for two more! Seriously??? And Stephen was right there saying this. But no Pecan Pie. After we argued a bit they finally gave us three gravy and no pie. The Prime Rib ended up being lots of fat and tough. Would NEVER purchase this from them again. I can cook it much better than they can. We did get the other sides as promised but they were so plain tasting that no one ate them. Bad excuse for bbq. Ordered 1 meat plate with brisket, a 2nd 1 meat place with ribs, and a kid's plate with ribs. Upsold us from 1 meat to 2 meat plate to increase number of ribs from 2 bones to 4. One of the extra 2 ribs was hard as a rock and cold. Brisket was cold and gristley. Beans tasted like they came from a can. My wife pointed out there was a large sign stating kids eat free on Sunday. This was not pointed out when I paid for this "meal" and when she went to ask about it, the cashier granted the credit while telling my wife "no one ever asks for this". My son enjoyed his order but he thinks kraft mac & cheese is a quality dinner. read more

However, do you think you could include at least two (2) rolls with the two meats... so, you know, two people could enjoy a slider? We won't be returning to Dickey's in Yucca Valley. or anywhere else it's located. Food was only OK. Service was great. Meat portions were so-so. The sides... I've had better off the shelf from Stater's. Try the place at least once. It's new... and maybe they'll kick up the portions... include an extra roll... and deliver some value for the $15. read more

Not a big fan of this particular Dickies BBQ. I ordered the 2 meat "Pit Boss" the ribs were dry and meat was hard, the brisket was greasy and had no flavor (except dunking it in sauce). The sides I had was the beans and loaded mashed potatoes, the potatoes and the roll was the only thing I ate. The 2 stars are for the cool soda machine and funny guy making the food. read more
