Pretty pleased with my impromptu stop at the Kent Dicks location. No lines, masks required, fast, pleasant, food was delicious, and exactly what you would expect from dicks. They did not disappoint. Yummy, maybe I might be one of those people that simply likes these kinds of fast food, but it is cheap and delicious.

We stopped by this place because we were road-tripping through the area, it was late, and we were starving. Reviews and recommendations cited that this place was essentially Washington's version of "In N Out". While I can say for sure that this place is no where near what In n Out has to offer (In n Out is by far fresher, less salty, and better quality, even with its low prices), it's not bad. The prices are about right, and the food is on par with that price-- you get exactly what you pay for. However, I dislike being restricted to only being able to order 'as is' premade burgers. I understand the need, and the idea behind it-- they want to offer instant service where the customers don't have to wait. But I am really not a fan of a burger with 'special sauce', as I tend to be a simple cheeseburger kinda gal when it comes to places like this, and In n Out (ketchup, mustard, and pickle only, please!). I have to agree with many others-- it's not too far a step up from McDonald's, other than the fact it's way better priced. We did have to wait in line for quite a while, despite their advertisement of 'no wait, instant service'. It's okay for a super cheap burger, and if I was in the area and desperate again, it would probably be okay-- but we won't go out of our way to get it... read more

Really not even a step up from Mickey D's. We just don't get why this is worth their reputation for having so many guests they must stand in line - though there was no line at our visit. We ordered a Deluxe to share, and it was definitely not custom-made. One staffer handed us the burger before the first had finished making change. When we opened the wrap, it had been steamed so thoroughly that part of the interior paper liner had glued itself to our food. The side of onions was only five cents, but was mush, and there's no way but by using your fingers to smear it on the burger. read more

$3.50 for a double cheese burger!!!!! I got an order for 6 double cheese burgers (delux) on the menu. 3 fries and two drinks for $25.00 for 3 people. Besides the price dick's was on top 100 places in America for burgers to try. I am currently working in Seattle and had to try this place. The burger is good and simple two patties on cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo mixed with chopped pickle in between a bun. Simple burger but it was good. I was in town visiting from Los Angeles when my cousin decided to take us here for lunch. Him, having come to LA, tried In N Out (he wasn't impressed), thought we'd like to check this place out. He was right! This place is considerably cheaper than your typical burger joints (certainly cheaper than In N Out) and I know I might catch some hate over this, but I actually think it tastes better too. I have never been to a Dick's Drive-In since I lived in Seattle so this was a big deal to me with it going up only a mile from my house. I knew I'd have a wait in line which didn't bother me whatsoever. Since this was my first trip I ordered the special, a cheeseburger, fries and a chocolate shake. A friend told me that the pickle relish was what made the burger, but all I found it to be was tartar sauce at best. The fries were short of nothing but a limp mess, greasy and no salt and the shake, well, what does it tell you when I threw most of it out before I even left Dick's. It had no flavor whatsoever not to mention the slightest and I mean just the slightest hint of brown to make a chocolate. If you're trying to nurse a hangover then the fries are your best bet because all the grease will do the job. So disappointed as I was hoping for a different experience at Dicks, although I have a lot of friends who think Dick's is the best thing since sliced bread. It's been way too long since I've had Dick's in my mouth and when they opened up this new location not far from my house I was on board. Unfortunately, so was everyone else, and for the first few months there were long lines of people eager to fill their hands and mouths with Dick's. Eventually, the public's insatiable appetite for Dick's died down and I was able to sneak in and get some Dick's for myself. Keep in mind this is a drive-in, so you park, walk up, stand in line at the window, then take your Dick's back to your car. Nabbed a burger, fries, and soda. As soon as I was back in my car I unwrapped my burger, eager to get some sweet Dickmeat back into my mouth. I was immediately reminded of why I've never been a huge fan of having Dick's in my mouth. It's not the worst thing, but it's also not the best. Pretty average burger, reasonable fries, etc. Dick's get the job done, but sometimes you're left craving something a little more. read more

My sister and brother-in-law came to WA for the first time and we went for a drive to show them around. We made a stop at this location and were excited to get some good burgers. The food was great...the customer service....HORRIBLE! I am not a native Washingtonian and so I have only been to Dicks more up north once before. This location apprently is new (or so I was told). We had a large group with us, my sister went to the window and told the young man that this was one whole order. She placed her order (for her, her two kids, her hubby) and then my little sister went to the windo to place her order (just her and her hubby) and then I walked up to place my order (for me and my two kiddos). I walked up to the window and stated 2 delux burgers, 1 plain cheese burger and 3 fries. The very young man(Staff#1) at the register looked at me and then started laughing. Then another young man (staff#2) walked over and told (staff#1) something, they laughed and then (staff#1) walked away. Then (staff#2) asked me what he could help me with. I told him I would like to order 2 delux buergers with no pickles. (staff#2) leaned over and said "WE DON' DO SPEICAL REQUEST FOR PEOPLE" and he said it with snap attitude. I was kind of taken back, my little sister then said "Oh jazzy the pickles are in the sauce that they dont take out." and I said..."Oh okay no worries." (Staff#2) could have just stated nicely the same thing. Then I added the rest of my order...at the end of tellinbg him 3 fries, he again leaned forward..."YOU ALREADY HAVE 6 OF THEM." I was annoyed by this big time and snapped back "SO THEN ADD 3 ON TOP OF THAT!" We stated that we were done with our order and paid. I noticed that when we finished paying, (Staff#2) called over the girl who was doing the fries and showed her our order on the screen. She then looked over at our family and gave the ugliest stinkeye. I was really dissaponted. I have been to another Dicks location and the staff there were wonderful and it was a large order on that visit as well. Im obviously in the minority, but I just dont get the big deal with Dicks after my first visit there yesterday. I went at 1115, there was no line. Ordered 2 deluxe and 2 fries. Headed to a picnic spot with hubby and kiddo. The burgers are okay. Thats it. Not bad. Not great. Just okay. I dont see the big draw here. But I also dont think In n Out burgers are very good either, so maybe its just me. The fries are all soft and soggy. I mean, I know fresh made fries are often not as crispy as like frozen fries or whatever... but you can still double fry them and get some crisp to them. They were 100% limp and all brown. While I've been going to Dick's Drive-in as long as I can remember, I just recently started patronizing this new location on PAC Highway and it's great. First, I'd say that it's design seems to be almost perfect for a Dick's, where there are ample lines in from, I believe at least six going at any one time. They are covered lines too, which is nice in cases of sun or rain. The "staff" at this location is always very effective and personable AND they provide options back when your order may not be immediately available. For instance, I buy plain hamburgers for my boys and they often don't have them available immediately, so I generally opt to wait for them to be made. The parking lot here is very ample and I've never seen it close to full. The food is consistent with experiences at any of the other Dick's locations and the prices continue to reasonable, so if you're in the area or headed south on I-5, is recommend a stop at Dick's Drive-in. read more

I would give Dick's 0 stars if possible. I've heard how great it was so stopped at the Kent location to try it out. The food was awful! The fries were disgusting. Soggy, greasy, with no flavor (other than oil). The burger was small, the bun stale and soggy, with an overpowering taste of whatever sauce they use. We also ordered chocolate shakes. Both straws had holes in them so had to take off the lids and drink them. They were thin and flavorless. It did not even have the consistency of a shake. It was more soupy than anything else. Don't even bother. There's a lot of fast food in the area, which is what I think dicks was trying to compete with. The reason they're not competitive is because there's always a long line, rude service, horrible parking situation, late night hassle, and a lot of competition nearby. I understand that Dicks is a local institution, and people want to be cool and try it out, but this horrible location really should make everyone think twice.Coming here late night after happy hour should not be a 25 minute wait in line only to be greeted by a nasty ass bitch. Just got some of our Dicks fix. Not as perfect as Broadway location. The meat patty was overcooked so half my burger was bread and other half was a dry patty. Fries were way undersalted than what I'm used to from the other locations, barely got any salt on there so we added more once we got home. My root beer float was perfect as always! Lines are still quite long, waited about 20 min at 8:30 pm. I think i will wait another month and try this location again. I'm sure they'll get up to the same level as the other locations soon! Went here for dinner tonight and it was ok. Burgers tasted just like McDonald's and the fries were nothing special. The milkshakes were really good and so are the prices. If you are from Seattle then you know that Dick's is a Seattle Staple. I'm glad they finally build one out South. This location is always packed but the food is hot and good. I don't think its as good as the one on Broadway downtown but none the less it was good. The only thing here is I'm used to the hustle and bustle of the downtown locations. those employee move quick and get the food out fast. But at the Kent location all the employee seem to take their time. But that's my only complaint. read more

Finally got to grab some Dicks in their new location, never had it before, coming from California, the standard best burger is In n Out for me. Dicks was pretty juicy but bland, since they have condiments extra I wanted to try the Deluxe original without adding anything and it definitely came off needing some more sugar/flavor/salt to it, which im sure ketchup and mustard would have added. Fries were greasy but good, way better than In n Out fries (which most places are better than). Wife and I shared a chocolate shake as well, good flavor. I would say Great State Burger w/ crinkle fries were better for this area but I could see how Dicks is great/fast for late night snack. read more

Coming from Seattle now living in the South Sound doing my best to avoid going to downtown Seattle because the smell of urine on the streets, tents everywhere, open drinking, drug use, and extremely aggressive pan handling just is not my thing. Definitely not the Seattle I grew up in. I really did enjoy Dick's Drive in being able to get a tasty cheese burger fast along with an ice cream late at night was awesome. Knowing about how Dick's Drive in values their employees by always staying ahead of the curve paying more then average has made me respect the company. I was so happy to have a bit of Seattle that I loved come to my new home. I did not get to go to Dicks for the first few days after it opened the lines were just far to long. I don't have the time to wait, and I did not want to battle for a parking space. So I went in later it was delicious it's not 4 star gourmet it's fast food it's cheep and it's nostalgic. The only bad thing about Dick's for me is the fries I hate them. Fresh potatoes cut and fried become limp and unpalatable for me, however people I go with love them. I just get the burgers a drink and a side of onion. I go to LA a lot they have In and out burger. People there love it I was not impressed by the dry burger much more expensive and longer wait time. But I realize it's all about Nostalgia. Dicks Drive in is home for me and yes I am so happy I can drive not to far find a parking spot because they have a good amount ( brilliant of them) and get a good tasting Dicks Deluxe and not have to endure a queasy belly like I do with other national chains burgers.
