Dicks is great!!! It was our first visit, can you beat those prices?! And the quality was excellent too! pro tip - you cannot customize the burgers, which isn't great for my picky kids but we made the best of it. This location was busy on Saturday night but they sure moved quickly! We ate our burgers on the bar outside and enjoyed the people watching.

So I heard this was Seattle's In n Out? Respectfully, nah this ain't it. Dicks is definitely closer to McDonald's than anything else. I got the following items: - Dick's deluxe burger - 1/4lb patty (with cheese and mayo and pickles and lettuce). - cheeseburger - vanilla milk shake The deluxe technically comes with 2 patties, but even still it's kinda small for a "deluxe". Cheeseburger is even tinier, almost like a kids size to me. I'll give Dicks credit for two things, affordable prices and being open late. Also the old school vibe of the place is pretty cool. One and done typa spot.

Get drunk, get Dick's. I grew up on this place and it's definitely a local favorite. Their fries are always a salty sopping greasy mess and I absolutely love it. The burgers are small and mushy but always fill you up perfectly. The line up to the window can be long, but you get your food within a minute of ordering. Not sure if Dick's lives up to market price now but it's an addiction that I have to feed every time I visit home.

This is a very different kind of burger joint. We noticed right away that there are no tables in the whole place. So odd. There were bar stools and bar style tables along the edges. Bizarre. We took a gander at the menu and it's very minimal, similar to In N Out (Burgers, fries, shakes, etc). The prices are very reasonable for the area. Here are some things that are unreasonable: * No substitutions, changes, or requests are allowed. One in our group asked for no mayonnaise. He was very abruptly shut down. But someone else in our group asked for no cheese and for some reason they were okay with that. * Most of us ordered the "deluxe" cheeseburger meal with a shake. The portion sizes are super, extra small. Like comically tiny, as if we had ordered the junior kids meal. The drink, shake, burger, and fries were very Junior. But all the food tasted good One in our group came up with a phrase after we left that felt pretty fitting of our experience there. "We done got SHAKE SHACKED up in here!" Meaning, for what you pay at Shake Shack, they give you pretty small portions. Although, Dick's gives you even smaller portion than they do.

Dick's Drive In is an absolute Seattle staple and one of my go to spots for a late night treat. You really cannot beat the prices, especially these days. The burgers are solid and consistent every time, simple, no frills, and exactly what you are craving after a long day or night. I especially love their greasy fresh cut fries. They are perfectly salty and hit that classic drive in vibe. This time I also tried a huckleberry ice cream cone and it was delicious, sweet, a little tangy, and a great finish to the meal. Just do not forget, it is 5 cents for ketchup! Very on brand and honestly part of the charm. It is not gourmet, but that is not the point. It is affordable, nostalgic, and reliably satisfying. Definitely a Seattle classic for a reason.

Burger is unique to the area and has a distinctive taste. Fries are cut fresh everyday. The milk shakes are amazing. The service is second to none. One of the most consistent fast food joints I've been to. This particular location featured Sir Mix a Lot and crew back in the late 80s. It looks for the most part the same. Just walk up and order. They have places to stand and eat directly up front

Dicks Drive In is always a good spot to grab a quick bite to eat. I always order a Cheeseburger and Fries, along with the Tartar Sauce. The Customer Service is Good. You can eat outside, there isn't any seating inside or out but there is a Table Top you can stand and eat at. I always eat in my car. Parking is OK, I mean I always find parking up front, Diners come and go so fast. They are having a Halloween special if your child is 13 and younger of you Trick or Treat in costume you get a Free Cheeseburger.

Cheap, dependable, and a staple of Seattle. Never been during the wee hours of the night, but both times I visited this during off-peak hours were quite empty. Friendly staff and security posted up. Cap Hill location definitely gets rowdier during weekend nights. Don't expect the world's greatest burger, but do expect to get your cheap and greasy meal itch scratched.

If you're looking for that old school, simple, straightforward burger joint, check out Dick's. I was told this place was popular but didn't realize how much until I saw the line to place your order. Long line but moved pretty quick. Burgers, fries, shakes. Keep it simple. The burgers are a bit smaller but the flavor is great! Can easily eat more than a few. I was visiting family and they wanted me to check this place out. To quote them, "let's go grab a bag of Dick's".

Stuck at a hotel with no access to food, I reacquainted myself with DoorDash, and found this option 0.7 miles from Virginia Mason. I loved Dick's Drive-In as a kid, but as an adult, the burgers are just average. I had a strawberry milkshake, and my mom had a chocolate milkshake. We both thought they were just kind of average. The fries, however, were spectacular! I can see why there's a limit of 15 orders of fries per DoorDash order. Fifteen seems excessive, until you taste them. I wanted a Special with cheese, but that wasn't an option, so I got a Special and a cheeseburger. I also got onion cups and ketchup and tartar sauce cups. The tartar sauce is weird. It's kind of blah. I definitely recommend the onion cups, though.

Place looked busy, so we decided to try. Saddest looking and tasting burger I've ever had. Fries were soggy.

I'm a bit disappointed by this historic burger chain... I mean it's super fast and convenient but absolutely underwhelming in terms of taste and presentation. I had a Dick's Deluxe and I was immediately given one that was ready, Mc Donald's style. I was not expecting it, I thought they'd make it to order. The patties were very small and the overall look was really sad. And no bacon wtf! Ultimately the taste was ok, but boy was it an underwhelming experience... I guess it's my fault, I had different expectations. I was thinking something like Burgermaster. To be fair though, it's dirt cheap, so maybe I have to recalibrate my assessment.

A solid, cheap little burger chain that's serving up STELLAR shakes (seriously the vanilla shake is heavenly), good little burgers, and homemade fries. There is nothing fancy about Dicks. But it doesn't claim to be. They do a few things really well done. And do it quickly. There's a ton of people here getting food for a reason. Cheap eats done well. I'm glad my Seattle local friend said we had to stop by!

The restaurant itself leaves a lot to be desired, but I'm not asking too much. I believe the owner said he was trying to revamp the place. I hope that the area comes alive in the future years, that should help. Here's the issue though, this is the slowest spot ever. I've waited 30 minutes for fries - FRIES. I don't mind waiting for food, but it should remain reasonable. There were only two or three people working, and one man did tell us this, but I need to be honest - this was on Super Bowl Sunday. No one was able to get anyone a beer from the tap for 40 minutes, the food took forever and it appeared that online orders were being prioritized (which makes sense, you make as you get orders coming in, but that puts your in person customers in an odd and sometimes frustrating position). To be honest, I probably wouldn't have minded as much if I just had some fries to snack on. I didn't mind as much this one time because I was just happy to find a place to watch the Super Bowl Half Time show, but other days, it's a little hard to look past. I wish this business the best, I live too close to not hope for its improvement! Looking forward to updating my review. At the end of the day, if you're hungry, it's late, this is your spot.

I received a promo for $5 off so I tried to use it the previous time, but she didn't know how to apply it. Then another time when I order The Caribbean Plato with pulled roasted pork, when I got home, I discovered the wrong type of meat (grilled pork instead of pulled pork). For these reasons, I didn't go back for a long time. Today, I went again to get take out for my visitors. I called in the order so I didn't have to wait, but Gisela didn't understand my order and kept getting it wrong. I ordered 3 Caribbean Plato with pulled pork, and 1 Caribbean Plato with chicken thigh, but she kept repeating the wrong order back to me (2 pork, instead of 3, wrong type of meat, etc), so I tried it again and again, still no comprendo. I got frustrated and told her that I would just come in person to order. I was in a hurry, but I had no choice. When I got there, I ordered the same thing, but this time, I gestured the type of pork I wanted, using my hands to show pulled and tried to explain that I wanted the shredded kind, not the solid kind). Someone was with me so he heard my order in plain English. As I was waiting for my order, I decided to ask her once more just to be sure that it wasn't the grilled pork bc she made that mistake last time. Then she said my meat was grilling now. I was alarmed since they don't get the pulled pork from the grill. I told her that I wanted PULLED ROASTED PORK, not the solid grilled patty kind. She said something in Spanish to the guy who was putting my order together and he showed me a sample of the pulled pork so I said "YES" that's the one I want. She said they were already cooking the grilled pork. When I told her that she was giving me the wrong order, she said "it's too late". I was so upset so I said, "why is it so hard to understand my order?" Pulled pork is pulled pork, not grilled pork. I never even mentioned the word "grilled". A guy came out from the kitchen so I explained myself and he said what I want is the pulled roasted pork and I said, "that's what I ordered". She tried to explain something to him in Spanish, but he told her to just give me the pulled pork and I was on my way. She just ruined my day, and I could feel my blood pressure rising. I don't think I will ever return again. It's too hard to explain the right kind of meat to Gisela. Dining out and getting take out should be a pleasant experience, not a stressful one.

I came in simply trying to figure out whether my order had gone through. Instead of someone calmly helping me understand what happened, I felt like the employees immediately became defensive and argumentative. I was told that my order hadn't gone through when it actually had, and when I tried to explain what happened and that I had been waiting, I felt like I was basically being told that I was lying. I know how long I waited, and I know what happened. What bothered me most wasn't even the mistake with the order. Mistakes happen. It was how quickly the interaction became confrontational instead of someone just listening and trying to solve the problem. I was more than willing to have a normal conversation and figure things out, but I did not feel like I was given that same respect in return. I have supported Dave's for years, going all the way back to growing up in Los Angeles. That is exactly why this experience was so upsetting. A brand should value the people who have supported it, not make them feel like they have to fight just to be heard. I really hope the Capitol Hill location takes customer service, de-escalation, and how employees communicate with customers more seriously. As a girlie from Los Angeles, the Seattle location isn't it. They're franchising for the money and don't care about anything but money in a new market. But I will say, Seattle girlies watch out, they want your money with the low quality they offer. But I will say the food is good, it is chaotic at night and sometimes it's a struggle to get all of your order.
