This place has a lot of parking for people to eat in their cars. For those who do not have a car, can eat at their small public stand-up table. Dicks is the White Castle of Seattle. A place where the drunk and high go to get food. I went to have my kiddo experience it. The lines are long but it goes quickly. WHEN: Sat @7:30pm PARKING: Dick's has its own parking lot which makes sense since they have no drive-thru and no dine-in options. This fast food kiosk is definitely more for take-away. There are counters if you want to eat on-sight, but with the pandemic still going on, you should just go home with yourself food. There are 2 lines to be in and when you make your order, you will get your food right then and there too. No second line to wait for the food. So that's why the line goes slow. I think it's made for a single eater, haha. I thought they were quite delicious! The fries were thick and soft, but off pride slightly crunchy on the outside! CHEESEBURGER - $2.40 One Patty, Cheese, Ketchup, Mustard. It's a solid simple burger. DICK'S DELUXE - $4.25 1/4 lb. Beef (Two Patties), Cheese, Lettuce, Mayonnaise, Chopped Pickle. I feel having that second patty doesn't make that much of a difference considering it's almost a $2 jump/difference. I really enjoyed the chopped picked mixed with the mayo, and appreciated the amount they put in. Buns are soft and it's good. Since it was my first time I wanted to try their simple and most made up burgers here and I enjoyed both! Prices are reasonable. I was bothered with how although the grounds were marked to keep distance between each customer in line, people don't really follow it. By that logic, the burger you get at any hot bar at a gas station convenience store could also be extraordinary given enough booze. I did not try the fries or the shakes which would be attractive in drunk dark thirty, though I was there late for the full experience. The basic burger is a yeasty sweet bun with a small diameter (1/8 pound 2 ounce) bland machine burger. The Dick's business plan is bland, then charge extra for taste. The is no salt or pepper on the basic burger. That may be healthy for people whose sodium intake for health reasons is more important than taste. Some people need a medically bland diet, get Dick's basic burger! So I add them to my bland collection. On the burger, Dicks has several (profitable) upgrades from bland. But within those upgrade options there is no customization. Their web shows more options than their site menu. The solution is to carry with you your own salt, pepper, and condiments! Pick your location. Capital Hill is Capitol Hill (I visited) and Wallingford / U-District is that vibe. Dick's is an institution everyone should experience as a part of Seattle history and culture. There's nothing like a simple, clean, and fresh burger experience devoid of any bougie vibes or pretentiousness. I got to this location in the late afternoon. I found that weird. Anyways, I got my food and opened up the bag in excitement... Only to be confused. I was wondering if I accidentally ordered a kids meal or something cause everything looked so small. The portion of fries were so little, and there was nothing deluxe at all about the burger. The patties were so small. It was very disorienting and disappointing. I polished off the fries first, and I have to say the flavor on them were pretty good. The fries are more on the thin side, but they were definitely good and far better than plain fries from In and Out. I had the burger next, and I have to say that I really liked the flavor. There was a freshness and simplicity to the burger that was awesome. It's just a pity that I finished it in like two bites. I can see why Dick's is a staple in the area. It's a no frills burger spot with lightning fast service, cheap prices (comparatively), and classic burgers. Their menu is pretty simple with your standard burgers (plain or with everything) for prices under $5 each. The sizes can be viewed more like sliders so you should probably order a minimum of two. They also have fries and shakes but again not the largest sizes so maybe order a bag of things for a full meal. Burgers are more on par with white castle than a shake shack/in n out in my opinion. Fries here were meh and could probably pass on them next time. There's not much customization you can do on your order which is why they can crank them out so fast - like it or hate it. They also charge you for ketchup and sauces so either stock up in your car or just order your items with everything on it. It wasn't crazy when I came and even got a parking spot. We came right at opening and there were already people ready to order. We didn't wait more than 5 mins though to order at the front and even less than that to get our bag of food once we paid. After months having moved here, I finally tried the infamous late night Dick's. I won't lie - I had a great meal. But 11pm meals always hit different. For the price, it's amazing (relative to everywhere else). I enjoyed my burger and shake. It's nothing crazy special, but it does hit the spot. I'm from CA and controversial opinion but I don't think In-n-Out is that amazing. I actually think I enjoyed Dick's more. Was visting Seattle and had to stop by this staple and classic drive-in to see what it's all about. Located at the front of this burger joint was one table to stand at and share with others. However, my family and I decided to drive back to the Space Needle and eat around there while we waited for our reservation since there was definitely ample seating there. Otherwise, the service was fast and efficient, and the menu consisted of minimal items. Just as a note, they also charge for condiments! I ordered some fries and the Deluxe Burger, which had two 1/8 pound grilled patties, cheese, lettuce, mayo, and pickle relish. Stopped by around midnight after a concert at the climate pledge arena. Dicks is right by the arena, so perfect walking location after a concert. The line was beyond along, winding all the along outside. However, we were really hungry and we decided to wait in the line like everybody else. Line takes quite a while because people order and then stand there until they get their food and then leave. Food is super super cheap. This is your classic burger joint. We both ordered burgers, fries, and milkshakes. It may be because I had major munchies, and I was starving but the food was absolutely fantastic. The fries were freshly cut and hot.
