With that said, once inside, they do a great job of stocking as much as possible given that this is a slightly smaller Big 5 location than others. I always make a point of coming to this location first because chances are checkout lines will be shorter and then if they don't have what I'm looking for I go up the street to the Granada Hills location. Staff here is also very friendly. They tend to only be at the register and aren't wandering around the store a ton, but I've also never really needed help finding things as the store is very well laid out and intuitive. Prices are fine. Nothing amazing, but they're better priced than other big box sporting good store chains so, once again, this is always our first stop for gear for our 3 growing kids & their youth sports gear. If you give them your email you'll get a weekly email with some good deals that often are catered to whatever sport season is about to start as well which I greatly appreciate. If not, chances are you'll get a coupon in the mail for 20% off or $5 off a purchase of $20 or more. So always keep an eye out for one of those if you know you are going to need to buy anything.

I try to support small local businesses whenever I can, especially ones in my own neighborhood. In early January I stopped into Addax Tactical while I was out riding my e-bike with my dog. The staff were friendly, they were cool about my dog being there, and they even let me bring my bike inside. My first impression was positive. A little later I went back to order a rifle. I wanted a Henry Big Boy .357 Lever Action Rifle. They didn't have it in stock, and I was told it would take about two to three weeks to arrive because the SHOT Show convention was coming up. While doing the paperwork, I also decided to purchase a Ruger 10/22 so I could complete both purchases with a single background check. I left a deposit of about $1,200 toward roughly $2,000 total for the two rifles. Both rifles are very standard models that most gun stores typically have available or can obtain quickly. I could have easily purchased them elsewhere, but I made a deliberate choice to support a smaller shop in my neighborhood and was willing to wait the extra couple of weeks. Based on the timeline I was given, I expected the rifles to arrive by late January and to have them in my possession by mid-February after the required 10-day waiting period. That didn't happen. After three weeks I called to check on the order. Nothing had arrived yet. I waited another week and called again. Still nothing. The responses were always very casual, with little explanation other than that the rifles had been ordered. Around six weeks into the process, I was told the Ruger had arrived but they hadn't called because they assumed I wanted to pick up both rifles at the same time. I went in immediately and started the paperwork to take possession of the Ruger. During that visit I learned something that had never been mentioned before: the Henry rifle had not actually shipped yet, and the shop generally places firearm orders in batches rather than ordering individual rifles. This was the first time I had heard that, even though the original estimate had been two to three weeks. At that point I agreed to upgrade to the octagonal-barrel version of the Henry since I had always wanted that model anyway, and I was told the change would not affect the delivery timeline. After the 10-day waiting period I picked up the Ruger and again asked about the Henry. The answer was still that it had not arrived yet. By this point we were about eight weeks into the process, with no clear timeline. About a week later I called again and received the same answer. At that point I decided to cancel the Henry order and request a refund. I was told the refund would come from accounting and that I should expect a check in two to three weeks. After two weeks I called again and was told it could take up to 30 days. I eventually went to the shop in person to check on the refund. This time I was told I could not bring my bike or dog inside, even though I had been there several times before with both and it had never been an issue. Eventually I received a call saying the refund check had arrived. For the sake of transparency, I'm writing this from memory without the receipts directly in front of me, so the dollar amounts may be off by a few dollars either way, but the numbers below are very close to what was paid and refunded. When I picked up the check, the amount returned was about $370 out of the roughly $1,200 deposit I had paid. That means that after roughly 12 weeks, the final outcome of this transaction is that I effectively ended up with a $830 Ruger 10/22 -- a rifle that typically sells for a few hundred dollars at most gun shops. Even assuming some type of restocking fee, it's difficult to understand how that result makes sense, particularly for a rifle that, according to the shop, had not even shipped yet when I cancelled the order. I went into this purchase specifically because I wanted to support a small neighborhood business like Addax Tactical and was willing to wait longer than usual to do so. Unfortunately, after the delays, the lack of clear communication about how orders were handled, and the final refund outcome, the entire experience ended up being extremely frustrating. If you're considering ordering a firearm here, my advice would simply be to make sure you clearly understand the ordering process, timeline expectations, and refund policies before leaving a deposit. Posting this simply to document my experience so other customers know what to expect when placing a special order here.

Do NOT Support This Racist Store! [Part 1 of 2] 1. The manager had the audacity to be disrespectful, dismissive, defensive and delusional toward me yesterday Wednesday 6/11/25 when I approached him regarding him and his employees Racial Profiling that they ecr ute every time I walk through there to get to the mall. 2. He says that he thinks that just because stores (including that store location) hire African American employees, that the store is not racist. Clearly he thinks that I'm boo boo the fo*l, and he doesn't realize that the stores manager's train and otherwise tell those particular employees to racially profile their own race. Those types of crooked managers think that we are not aware that they are hired for that reason. 3. I go to that mall often, to walk through to get to my destination, and to help avoid the sun and other the cold; I walk through that store to get to the mall. Sometimes stopping at one of their full body mirrors after walking in from the wind. EVERY TIME that I walk through (meaning, including when I don't stop at a mirror), it never fails that one or more of those crooked employees commit Racially Profiling. Sometimes even walking out of nowhere to stand in front of me by the exit/entrance on the interior mall side of that store, amongst their other obvious tactics of intentionally making me uncomfortable, uneasy, annoyed, attacked, watched - to describe the least. 4. Yesterday I happened to have my walking cane with me. I stopped at a mirror before continuing walking through. I notice a caucasian female employee with very short dark hair, about 5'9 in height [see photo attached hereto] walking toward me and looking at me as I was leaving mirror to the isle to leave. Now she's still standing their instead of walking away. I therefore decide to turn around and take a photo of her ad she went behind a counter to a register the other way, after noticing that she first stopped next to a fellow employee and used her whisper hand gesture covering her mouth then POINTED at me as she's still talking to him. She's intentionally making it obvious to me that she's talking about ME; her disrespect continues, or shall I say the store's egregious ongoing disrespect. 5. As I walk toward that counter, she walks off through a storage room door next to it. I was headed to request the store manager. 6. Three employees are huddled together by s rack of merchandise across isle from that counter . She walks back out, I ignore her and ask a female employee walking after her, to get the store manager for me. She points at a guy in that huddle. 7. I ask him if I may speak with him, after he yells, "How can I help you!", while in the huddle, instead of being professional, ethical, courteous and respectful walking out of it to talk to me across the isle. He irrationally expects me to yell across the isle to converse with him as customers, general people, and employees walk between us. Smh. 8. I wait for him to be an adult and a manager; and walk over to me in order for us to have a proper conversation. So to help him do his job appropriately; I walk further away (to be near where she was staring at me), also to get his audience in his huddle to leave. 9. I ask him if she was following me. Nor did he say he'll reprimand her so that it won't happen again to me nor to any other person. 12. He claims that they don't commit Racial Profiling at that store and then ignorantly used that he hires a couple of African American people as his scapegoat to not being racist; when it's clear that he is racist hence his employees being racist every time I'm there and see the total difference in my experience v.s the experience I witness of other people who walk through in front of me. I had went into try on some asics, kayano. Sneakers and brooks, my goal was to get back into the a…read moresix, and I ordered the asics. I picked them up last night August 7th fully paid for them took them home, got them ready.Laced them up prepared to wear them today for school. I woke up, got ready for school. Put them on, they seemed okay. The more I walked in them, the right foot was rubbing, causing considerable amount of pain to the point I had to take the shoe off even just standing with the shoe on it caused pain. So on the way home from school, I stopped by this store to let them know because when I went before I was told to buy them there.Because I can always exchange them So I explained to the gentleman what had happened. What I was experiencing and asked them if there was anything they could do to remove the pain or prevent the pain. Because I wanted to keep the shoe and there was nothing they could do. I asked them if they had another right shoe in the same size and color but they do not. I tried on different shoes. They didn't fit right? So I opted to go back to brooks. I asked the gentleman to order the books and he asked for a deposit. I'm like, why would I pay for a shoe that I've already paid for a shoe? I'm exchanging this shoe. Why would I pay for another shoe? When I'm already exchanging it, I said, I would take the shoe home, put it in the box, and then when the shoe comes in, I would bring it back to exchange it. And he goes, yeah, if, well, we a $15 deposit, I can't. I don't understand why if I've already paid for a shoe that doesn't work for my foot. That causes considerable amount of pain. Why would I have to pay for another shoe? If i'm exchanging a four of the other shoe that makes no sense to me. So I basically left my shoes. There went home barefoot, and told them to call me when the other shoe comes in. Like I don't understand why would I have to put more money down when I'm exchanging, a fully paid shoe paid for fully paid for a shoe for another shoe which costs less. I believe. I even had my receipt with me to show that I had fully paid for that shoe.I'm not yet they still wanted a deposit for the other shoe knowing, fully that I was going to exchange the shoe that I had.That was fully paid for with the shoe that they were ordering for me.I don't get this, I really don't get this

The other sales girls were ignoring me and playing around. And I don't think that's good customer service. Because not one of them spoke to me at all. But PABLO deserves a raise or a day off. He was so awesome
