We came in here on a Saturday brunch. Since it Saturday , we didn't expect to sit down right a day. Server is very friendly and nice. I forgot to asked her name lol. Food are delicious as what we expected. We order the famous 'the crypt , the big 20 , Country fried steak and the mac and cheese with fresh fruits for the little one. 5 stars for a truly great, old fashioned neighborhood diner. In the mood for a good burger out, so I searched Yelp and this place came out on top. I'm still learning the area. Great burger! Had the 20th Anniversary Burger and a Chocolate Malt --- OMGosh so good! I'm writing this some time after my 1st visit when I drafted this, but forgot it seems to finish. I've been back since and had a tuna melt, and then on another occasion their pancakes --choc chip. Everything is great and the staff make you feel like a regular from your first visit. To start things off, the service was absolutely horrible, we had to wait 3 minutes until the waitress told us to sit wherever, and while doing so she was extremely rude and unfriendly. She made me and my friend feel like we were unwelcome and like they didn't even want us there. when they brought the food I was beyond disappointed, I payed 9$ for greasy sludge they called a cheeseburger and stale fries with pieces of hair in it, and when we asked for a new one they denied us and said we were wrong. Can't believe we never tried this place before. This local favorite totally deserves its reputation. The burgers were juicy and flavorful. The BLT had the perfect layering of ingredients so every bite was delicious. The deep fried oreos were decadent. This is not a diet place. Everything filled you up with yumminess. very accommodating diner. we biked here and they let us park our bikes in the back with seats near it. the food is very dinerish. they had lots of flavors of milk shakes and malts. different varieties of fries like garlic or chili or even ball park garlic trying to mimic giants garlic fries. burgers and breakfast items are big here. think dennys but better. i had the chicken fried steak and the ball park garlic fries. it was sooo garlicky! but i like garlic so that was a hit for me! just stunk afterwards. worth! i still think ihop has the best chicken fried steak so im still in search for better. this one was okay. not too memorable. the burgers are pretty good size and lots of varieties of toppings. overall decent place with good service. read more

my boyfriend and i visited this location for the first time ever today but i've been to the old locations that were in hayward and san leandro--that was years ago but i remember it fondly! i haven't had digger's in literal years what an absolute treat it was! fast and friendly, patient staff, a wonderful atmosphere with radio quiet in the background; a very casual and relaxed atmosphere. my boyfriend and i really appreciate restaurants like that! the food was delicious and amazingly affordable compared to a lot of restaurants these days; what a steal! we were even politely greeted by the owner while we were waiting i don't want to see this location close, it's an adorable place and the food is absolutely awesome! if you need a diner fix, this is it right here! read more

Pretty good food! The ballpark garlic fries are awesome. I like the real garlic and they put tons of it. My partner loved the chicken fried steak plate. The anniversary burger was ok. The waitress didn't ask me how I like to have my patty cooked and even after I said medium rare, there was no pink in the patty. Their lemonade and ice tea were pretty watered down. Not sure of the sodas. Chili had good chunks of meat. They can get pretty busy. We went a little bit before lunch on a Monday thinking there wouldn't be much people but they were busy and had a wait. But when we were seated the waitress was attentive and stopped by our table quite a bit. Seems to be a local favorite/stop. read more

Food is okay. Im not a fan of the ribeye (kinda bland and i dunno it just have this weird taste it it. French toast is fine. I dont like the fact the the servers don't wear mask. I was skeptical at first for sure... Part of a kinda random little shopping center with an awkward parking lot. BUT the lot was packed late on a Sunday afternoon, so I took that as a good sign. Once you get in, the place definitely has that divey diner feel, but in a good way. And things just got better from there. There were two parties ahead of us, but we didn't wait too long for a seat. Servers were really friendly and fairly attentive given how busy they were. We ordered a couple of burgers, a side of fries, the Buffalo cauliflower bites, and a pancake combo for the kid. Everything came out hot and at the same time which was great. My BBQ Bacon burger was pretty tasty and very filling, and hubby said his Spicy Patty Melt was good, but he'd probably get something else next time. We were a split vote on the cauliflower bites, they did have an extra briney-ness (not sure what else to call it) that we weren't expecting, but I'm glad we tried them. Kiddo ate everything on his plate which was a win for us. But most important take home from this review is: the basic fries are a hard PASS. Really bland considering the range of mouth watering items they have on the menu. Overall, definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the area. I wanted to like this place, I REALLY DID. I saw how some of my fellow yelpers gave it great ratings based on their experiences having breakfast here. Perhaps that's where it started going downhill? We stopped by on a Sunday at 12:11pm after reading all the reviews. We got in our booth, read the vast menu, and we both decided on our breakfast items. When our server (who was FABULOUS, btw) came to take our order she was halfway through writing when she said "Oh my gosh, I forgot. We dont serve breakfast past noon, I'm sorry. I go through this every weekend." ....and there it went, pure disappointment Then we had to look over the menu again, but nothing really jumped out seeing as how lunch isnt what we wanted. Perhaps there is a way to let their patrons know they dont serve breakfast past a certain time? We drove all the way out from Fairfield just to patron the establishment. I have to say, not time well spent. We ordered fries 2 types of ways, with garlic seasoning and the cajun fries and both were absolutely horrible. They were so bad, the kind server had them removed from the bill. I ordered a salad, which was ok, and my companion ordered a burger that he just left there because it was flavorless. The service deserved 5 stars, the food/experience did not. Diggers is out of the way for us, as we live about 45 minutes away. Based on the experience we had, we would not return. I wish that I could be giving them a review on breakfast because perhaps maybe then the experience would've been better? Who knows? Definitely not me... That was one of the reasons why it took me so long to finally try it, but I'm so glad that I did! Very disappointed after hearing such good reviews. Really should've known better when we pulled up at 5:30 and the place was so empty I thought it was closed. My husband and I got burgers (California burger and the big 20) and our daughter got the reindeer pancakes. She loved her pancakes but we were a little taken aback when they came out to $12.99. I know, my fault for not asking when I didn't see a price listed. Our burgers on the other hand were over cooked, mine so much that it was black on the bottom. The burgers also tasted frozen. The bacon that came with the pancakes and the bacon on both burgers were spongey and gross. No one ate them. The onion rings were overcook as well. Just all around terrible. Not to mention we felt forgotten about when it came time to pay, the servers had just disappeared. They took off the food we didn't eat but we still ended up paying close to $30 for pancakes and sodas! Absolutely ridiculous. Totally ruined our appetites for the night. Will not be going back. Save yourself a trip and go to Denny's if you want a diner or Fuddruckers for a nice burger. read more

Artwork includes a lot of cemetery themes and I don't like to think about death. Bathrooms: clean For some reason if you order takeout, your sides don't come on the side. Not only do they give you substantial portions for a good price; the service and the ambience is very welcoming. The overall ambience of this diner brings a nostalgic and and rustic vibe which is very refreshing for anyone whoas local or not. All across the walls there are mementos of local schools, businesses and anything you can name-- as well as the giant mural they have on the far back wall that really just makes the restaurant pop.
