Tucked away in an unassuming marketplace in Ladera Ranch, you'll find this little gem of a restaurant. I've been to quite a few Thai restaurants in southern California, but this is my favorite hands down. Stepping into Diho Siam, you'll be warmly greeted by the staff. During the dinner rush, they can become fairly busy, but somehow remain friendly and attentive. The decor is tasteful and modern, with earth tones, straight lines, and a motif of "3" repeated throughout the restaurant. Lining the walls are cozy cushions with a multitude of pillows offering a pleasant alternative to conventional seating. You'll find fresh and unique flower arrangements on the tables, created by a trained floral artist daily. All of this combines into a classy, yet very affordable dining experience. Diho Siam combines Thai and Chinese cuisines in a flip menu that offers a significant number of choices. To be honest, I haven't experienced the Chinese food here... not because it's bad but because the Thai dishes are just that good. I have yet to find anything I didn't like on the menu, but there are definitely a few standouts that I would recommend to anyone. I always start with a hot pot of Tom Kha for the table, which is easily the best seasoned hot and sour coconut soup I've tasted. Curries are a personal favorite of mine, and the yellow curry here never disappoints. It blends sweet, salty, sour, and spicy flavors seamlessly, which is what Thai food is all about. Overall, nothing is especially spicy by Thai standards, but the Laab (spicy meat salad) is probably the hottest, with toasted ground rice and lime juice mixed with chillies. I find Pad Thai and Pad Se-lew a bit oily in general, but they are popular noodle dishes here. The Eggplant with Thai Basil delights with a fresh combination of healthy flavors while the Crispy Duck satiates with its light, crunchy texture and honey plum or spicy lime dipping sauces. If you manage to save room after all of that, don't forget to indulge in the Sticky Rice with Mango (if it's in season). This is a delicious and healthy desert juxtaposing flavors, textures, and temperatures into a memorable and satisfying experience. Substituting Tofu for any of the meat options gives Diho Siam a substantial number of vegetarian options. More impressively, the staff is confident and knowledgeable about all the gluten free choices, which leads to a very fulfilling experience those who must avoid it. With the affordable prices, Diho Siam is easily one of the best values for your money that you'll find anywhere. This place has high prices and food that isn't very good. This place serves both Thai and Chinese food. I got takeout from here last night. They have a spiciness scale of 1-5. I ordered most of the food as a 4 and two dishes as a 5. None of the dishes were spicy at all. After ordering $75 worth of food to-go (6 dishes) I added on 3 Thai Iced Teas at the last minute. I asked to get them without ice because I didn't want them to get all diluted on the way home. I was told that the 16oz Iced Teas were usually $3 each but they would have to charge me extra if they didn't fill the cup up with ice. FAIL. read more

This place is one of the best Thai food resturant I have been to in South Orange County. I tried a many other places, but all of them can not compare to this place. This place is authenic, it reminds me of the resturants back home in SF. I used to go to the one off of La Paz until this one opened up. The service is good. They don't let my water glass go empty. Once the wait staff that it has gone down half way, they fill it up. The food is delicious. I almost always order the Pad Thai, but the other day I ordered a noodle soup and it was really good. The pineapple curry squid was a bit out of the ordinary from what we usually get but it is my favorite Thai dish I have had to date. I can live off of their Pad Thai! It is so good! I usually get take out from here at least once or twice a month! The online ordering process is easy, along with the calling and ordering over the phone! Everyone is so nice and the service is great, especially if you choose to dine in! We received the wrong order. We told the driver, he told us it was the restaurant's issue. We contacted the restaurant, they told us it was a door dash issue. They really didn't want to know ! So no idea what the food is like but customer service rubbish. Meanwhile, we have to throw out the food. There is no apparent way to resolve simple issues like this. Diho Siam JUST moved into Ladera....the first day was yesterday 2/15 and me and my husband got take out. I love Thai and he loves Chinese so we got a little bit of both and it was FABULOUS! I can't get over how cute the restaurant is also, would be really nice for a date night or fun dinner out. The prices are also really good, Urban Thai is close by and WAY more expensive.
