I cannot get over how good everything was! I got the vegan platter and figured I'll eat some tonight and save the rest for leftovers. When I tell you I ate the whole thing, I could have kept going! Every part of it was absolutely delicious. The flavor on the curried chickpeas was incredible. And they were such sweet people too! Great customer service. Can't wait to find this truck again!

I ordered the jerk chicken, and it was phenomenal. Perfectly charred on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside, with that signature kick of heat and spice that makes your taste buds dance. You can tell the marinade is done right. I will Highly recommend!

Absolutely delicious food! I ordered the 2 protein combo with Jerk Chicken & Curry Chicken, Mac&Cheese, & Grilled Asparagus. Everything was seasoned to perfection. The Pineapple Ginger juice is a great balance of sweet, citrus, and bite of ginger. There was a little wait, but well worth everything second for this delicious food. The people working the food truck are very friendly and hospitable. The food truck is wrapped in a very fun Caribbean beach scene.

Dilans Carribean Grill was a vendor at the Street Food Cinema ft. Do the Right Thing Juneteenth celebration. I've been craving Caribbean food for a while now. So this was a no-brainer to me I knew exactly which food truck I was gonna try. The line had a nice amount of customers waiting. So that made me confident this was a clear-sign of goodness. Lol...... Sadly I was wrong The curry was okay it could have had more of a flavorful taste to be honest. I was also disappointed that they only gave me 3 asparagus. I'm sad I didn't get the flavor I was looking for here.

By far one of my favorite food trucks I look forward to when they pop up around L.A. He has some great recipes. The Jerk Chicken is his staple. Very flavorful and just the right amount of kick to it. It's a recipe he's crafted through out the years, but besides that there's also some other must try items you should look for. I always look forward to the ox tails. Another must try and I get sad when he sells out of them and I miss them because they really are something to look forward to. Jerk Chicken + Ox Tails are number one and two on my list. He also makes some good curry chicken too, it's a sleeper item on the menu. Not to mention his Tri Tip plate is great too. But what's really a sleeper menu item is his burger and fries. Man oh man let me tell you something he does make an incredible burger. I usually make it a bacon cheese burger and customize it with grilled onions, but this time around I ordered the burger and Dilan had a surprise and topped it with Tri Tip along with grilled onions, lettuce and tomato with cheese. I always ask for my burgers to be cooked medium to really savor the flavor. I was not disappointed one bit as this burger was good to the very last bite. Very good place! I also love his plantains and Mac N cheese. You got to look for Dilan when he pops up. He's usually at Upshift Brewery and Melrose Trading Post but keep up with his Instagram because they announce other places they go. Trust me your taste buds will be rewarded. Yet another great black owned business you should come out and visit soon. Dilan and Jewel are really cool people.

I wish I took a photo but it was gone that quick. $18 jerk chicken plate that came with FOUR pieces of chicken, plantains and cabbage. I literally came on here to see where I can find them tomorrow because I cannot stop thinking about that cabbage. Jerk was so good. Just the right spice that I ate the first piece and didn't even sauce it up. Food is fresh too. Waited about 15 minutes for it, and will happily do that again. read more

Dilan's came to my work today as a lunch option and it was perfect. It was a wild, rainy day; the kind of weather which lends itself perfectly to a well seasoned, fresh and warm meal. This dish soothed my soul in ways I did not expect. The vegan curry had a flavor profile that any patron would still be thinking about long after the dining experience. The texture of the chickpeas was 10/10: Tender but not mushy, firm but not toothy; A spectacular vehicle awash with the rich & layered curry flavor. The rice was cooked to the ideal limit: sticky but not gluey. A gentle bed of warmth and texture to compliment the curry, accompanied by plantains of paradise. I can't imagine how I am supposed to enjoy dinner tonight. If Dilan's is anywhere in a 50 mile radius, I recommend making the journey because it is out of this world. read more

Really strange experience that left me abolishing ever eating here. Their food truck staff didn't even know that I had ordered (and yes I have the bank statement charge to f'ing prove it) and literally looked at me and had the audacity to ask "do you need something?" even when the cashier had assured me "I'll get that for you" WITHOUT ever giving me a total, or a service ticket for my drink. ONE PINEAPPLE GINGER DRINK. I literally had to check my bank account to see how much I had been charged. Worst service and I'll be contacting event staff to ensure these folks are NEVER brought in again. read more

Holy smokes! A friend picked up an oxtail plate with 2 sides for me and I couldn't believe my tastebuds. The oxtails were so tender and the sauce was extremely flavorful without being too salty or spicy. Just perfect. The platanos fritos were fried perfectly as well. The rice was yummy! read more

Dilan's Carribean was a welcome edition this past week at my friend's apartment complex. We looked forward to it all day, checking the menu, deciding what to get! Ordering ahead was super easy and friendly. We texted, they confirmed, 20 minutes later we ran down to grab the grub. We finally settled on a cheeseburger with fries ad the brown chicken with plantains and rice. We really enjoyed everything, good portion sizes, completely reasonable prices. I must say I was obsessed with their fries though! They were so crispy, just the right amount of salt...I was in loveeeee. Couldn't stop popping them! Ate there food while at an event at Ivy Station! Very good & reasonable prices! I got salmon, rice, & steamed spinach. My friend got jerk chicken, spinach, and plantains. Got 2 bottles of water for me and one for her. Each $1. They have medium & large plates. My salmon plate took 15 min so they could cook it. Hers only took them to plate it all. Would def eat here again. The steamed spinach was good because it was flavored with either like jerk spice or cumin or some thing I don't know. And then the rice was Jasmine rice. And then the salmon was lightly flavored too. read more

Dilans came to the Sony studio lot today and delivered some delicious grub from the grill! There aren't many reviews on yelp for this place as of yet, but the ones I've read seemed reliable so I decided to give it a go and I'm so glad I did! Since one of the reviews mentioned that the Jerk Chicken is a staple, I ordered that plate with a side of plantains and asparagus (it comes with 2 sides) served at the perfect temperature. JERK CHICKEN: Tender and juicy, with the perfect amount of flavor and smoky crispiness from the skin. The special sauce on the side gave it a balance and an extra kick without being overpowering. DELICIOUS. PLANTAINS: On point. Fresh, warm, and had the perfect amount of caramelization. Ugh! AMAZING. ASPARAGUS: There's nothing I hate more than chewing on the fibrous lignin towards the end of asparagus spears, but there's nothing fibrous about these! Other than wishing there were more spears and maybe less seasoning (tad salty), these were fresh and cooked well with the right amount of tenderness and crisp. I got my greens in. YUM. Dear Dilans, thank you and please come back! I'm hoping to try the Ox Tail next time. read more

Recently, a friend found this yelp page and scrolled through the comments and found that another customer said they're at this other location in Vernon. I live out of town now and just flew in last night. We decided to take a chance and see if was truly my beloved primos. The NEW LOCATION for my Lincoln Heights peeps is indeed now in Vernon. 5681 S Downey Rd Vernon, CA 90058 We got there last night and circled around a bit but closer to take a look at the truck and it's definitely not the white truck that was parked in the Heights. It's a different orange truck with electronic signs on it. But when I stood up close to analyze the menu and the condiments outside, I can tell it was the same amazing salsa that I grew up on and some familiar faces inside. Now that we know where they are, we'll be making the drive from Lincoln Heights to Vernon for the amazing tacos. My heart is whole again after these rough past few years without their amazing food. Please. I encourage all of you to come here. Tell your friends and family. They're more than worth it. PS. I tried buying a whole bottle of my favorite salsa from them but they weren't down. Too bad. Horchata is always a great call here. Seating inside feels a bit tight, but they keep it clean and comfy. There's also an outdoor patio if the weather allows for patio seating. The parking lot feels smaller than I remember. Luckily, we found free street parking just fine.

Wow hands down the best Caribbean food I've had in LA! The jerk chicken was tender and flavorful with a perfect kick, and the smoked sausage was just as amazing. The rice and beans had a rich, coconutty flavor, and the whole red snapper was flaky and perfectly cooked. The plantains and cabbage were fantastic, and the beef patty was sooo good. The flaky, buttery crust was perfect, and the beef was shredded and savory, a must to complete your order. Portions are generous. You truly get more than what you pay for.
