The service was outstanding, the food delicious, large portions and the atmosphere charming with a huge aquarium filled with sharks and various saltwater fish. Everyone enjoyed their entrees and appetizers. I would go back again because they have a pretty good menu. My father in law was given a chocolate sundae because it was his birthday celebration. If you go, bring your appetite because they feed you here! We took home leftovers. It was enough for several meals.

Stopped here with our granddaughter after spending four or five hours walking the zoo. Although when I got there the aroma coming out of that restaurant was wonderful I really didn't expect a lot, being part of wildlife world zoo. Boy was I mistaken! Barbecue with some of the better that I have had, service was spot on and prices were not so high as I had expected being at that location. I would actually stop here again even if we had not gone to the zoo!

We really enjoyed our time at Dillion's during our zoo day. It's a great spot to sit and cool off during a hot day at the zoo. Sitting in the dining room is really cool because you have the opportunity to see the aquarium. The pulled pork sandwich was delicious and we all enjoyed our food. If you are visiting the zoo, I would highly recommend stopping here for lunch!

The vibe of Dillon's is definitely the highlight. It's connected to the Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium, and a big part of the restaurant looks into the shark tank, so you get to watch shovelhead sharks, a zebra shark, and other fish swimming while you eat. The bar side has a patio that faces the flamingo enclosure, which is also a fun and unique touch. That part alone makes the visit worthwhile. As for the food, I ordered the French dip. It was okay, but not great. The prime rib was really fatty and overly smoky. If you like smoky and fatty meats, you might enjoy it more than I did. Portion size was fair, but the au jus wasn't really au jus--it was more of a substitute sauce. Fries were good, though portions seemed inconsistent from table to table. We got a decent amount, but others around us had noticeably more or less. The service left a lot to be desired. It wasn't packed, but our table felt neglected. Our waitress was forgetful and we had to ask three times just to get to-go containers. On top of that, the food runner brought someone else's food to our table before realizing it wasn't ours. Nothing terrible happened, but the service was definitely off. Overall, the only real reason to visit is the cool atmosphere and the view of the animals. If it wasn't for that, I'm not sure I'd return just for the food or service. Worth trying once for the experience, but probably not a regular spot for me.

We had a day enjoy enjoying the zoo and aquarium together. Dillons was nearly attached to the wildlife park. We enjoyed margaritas and amazing barbecue dishes that offered plenty of options from full meat plates to adding sides and even offered salads or light bites if you have less of an appetite. Our server was new and the service was pretty slow however, once we got our food and drinks, everything was good. The ambience was nice because we got to see the aquarium inside the restaurant as well if you're looking for a good barbecue bite and afternoon fun I would recommend doing the wildlife park and stopping in at Dillons for a bite

My wife and I were going to the casino and remembered our uber driving told us about Dillon's last time we went gambling. Since it's right across the street from the casino we decided to check it out. We were seated right away by the aquarium and were greeted immediately by our waitress. She took our drink orders and gave us a minute to check out the menu. My wife settled on the roast beef over Texas toast with mashed potatoes and gravy on top. I chose the French Dip since I have to try one at every restaurant we go to. My wife liked her meal, the Coleslaw she said was ok, but the meal was good. My French Dip was good. The meat had a Smokey flavor which was probably on the menu but I missed it. I'm not a huge fan of smoked meats but it was tender and had a good flavor. The fries were crisp and had a nice flavor. Our service was excellent, and the atmosphere while a little old feeling was super cool with the aquarium. We will definitely eat here again.

When my Sister in law LOVES a restaurant I pay attention! She was spot on to suggest Dillon's. Even if you aren't heading to the Zoo or aquarium with kiddos in tow for the day it's a great dining experience! I hear the Brontosaurus are the favorite of my nephew! I wish I had splurged to share a rack with my grandson and a couple other family members! They look amazing! Staff is accommodating, kindhearted and attentive! Burgers were yummy, Fish Tacos nice and the beans... oh my MEMORABLE! Side salad isn't chintzy and OMG let's talk ONION RINGS! Simply delicious!! Not Greasy and the breading is a cross between tempura and what you would get at Sonic! Servings were ample too! Dip in the sauce provided OR order Pretzles and dip in that cheesy sauce! Worth the time coming to eat there id you are away or Driving through Phx eat here!

If you're in the area, especially if you have kids, make a point to grab a snack or a meal at Dillon's. The dining room has the giant aquarium built in and so many smaller ones throughout. The food is decent, probably how you expect. Service really was good on a busy Sunday. Prices are not ridiculously expensive but most entrees are $17+ Absolutely family friendly. It is a great family destination. The zoo is excellent but if you don't have time for the zoo you still get a great experience just in the restaurant.

    Rachel J.

The food is very mid...especially for the pricing. I get that you're at the zoo and can experience the flamingos but I think the food should match that. I got a taco salad that cost quite a bit and it literally tasted like nothing... you'd think they would season the meat so that it tastes like taco but it didn't taste like ANYTHING. The meat is VERY DRY.... Definitely not worth trying. The baby back ribs/ pulled pork and brisket were all dry and disappointing if bbq is supposedly your specialty. Also the homemade cobbler tasted like a jello bread pudding with freezer burned berries. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place or come back here... go elsewhere because this place is very disappointing for the money you're paying. Just go to the zoo instead

    BBQ Beef Brisket Platter
    Susie R.

Tried this place for the first time and idk if I will go back or recommend it tbh. The brisket was dry, the do inform u they add corn into there Mac n cheese. Wings were cold along w my brisket n the burgers. I don't like to complain much so we just ate the food. Only thing I enjoyed were the fries .

This review is purely of the Brontosaurus Beef Rib Platter that we ordered while visiting the Wildlife World Zoo. I often avoid the Dillon's restaurant at the zoo because of the many families and it is often too busy to enjoy a relaxing meal. This time we enjoyed a weekday visit to the zoo and decided to have an early dinner at Dillon's. I was happy to see that they still offer the Brontosaurus Beef Rib Platter as a big lover of beef ribs. Since I don't eat a lot of sugar I asked for my ribs with no BBQ sauce and I was told that would be no problem because they were smoked and would be good naked without sauce. And yes they were. The ribs were very good and lived up to their Brontosaurus name. I could only eat two and ended up taking the rest home to enjoy later!

This Dillon's location is next to the Wildlife World Zoo. This makes the patio a nice place to have lunch when the weather is good. The flamingos are definitely interesting to watch. The inside has a floor to ceiling aquarium with sharks and other sea life in it. The Carolina barbecue sandwich is the best thing on the menu if you are from that part of the US. Service is fine here.

I had never been to First Watch before, but I expected a wait. I checked in and was quoted 25 minutes for a party of four. After 30 minutes, I checked in again and was told I was second in line. A few more minutes went by, so I asked again, and now I was fifth in line. I was confused, and they explained that people checking in online could jump ahead of me. They also said they were unable to accurately quote a wait time, and that it could end up being much longer. I know many other places use a hybrid check-in system, and I've never experienced an issue like this. I understand when things simply take longer than expected, but tables were being turned over and people were being seated. I must have just been incredibly unlucky with the timing of people checking in online. After finally being seated about 45 minutes later, we put our order in right away since we were now going to be cutting it close. I'm used to breakfast places being pretty quick, but it took another 45 minutes for our food to arrive. We ended up being 15 minutes late to the movie. I expected the opening credits to still be rolling, so I wasn't too stressed, but we definitely missed the first five minutes or so of the movie. The food was pretty good, but my eggs were over hard when I had ordered them over medium. What disappointed me the most was that nobody seemed to care that the quoted wait time was so far off. There was no apology or acknowledgment. Our waitress was okay, but she avoided our table like the plague while we were waiting for our food, probably because she knew it was taking so long. Empathy and kind words go a long way.

The bread was a fantastic start: hot, crispy on the outside, and gooey on the inside (a solid opening act for the meal). The service was excellent. Joseph was bubbly, friendly, and incredibly attentive throughout our meal. The team clearly puts in effort; my wife noted he was "giving 100." Even the little detail of the hot towel at the end felt like a nice, polished touch. The food was a mixed bag, though. We tried the "Perfect Pair" lunch special, and I think the portion sizes were better suited for a younger eater than an adult. On the bright side, the chicken tortilla soup was a standout, flavorful and definitely worth ordering. The salmon club was also pretty good. The smash burger, unfortunately, was smaller and lacked punch...the bun seemed to take center stage over the actual meat. The mac and cheese was gooey but felt totally forgettable. One heads-up for future visitors: depending on where you sit, you might catch an occasional STRONG restroom smell. It's a lot less of a dealbreaker than the burger portion size, but something to know. Overall, it's worth visiting if you appreciate the modern aesthetic, the quality of the soup, and the great service from people like Joseph. (We did, however, have a bit of a digestive disagreement later in the evening, not sure if it was the salmon club, but the stomach disagreed with the plate.)

Menu: it's about the size of a Sears Catalog (exaggeration but about 8+ pages front and back) and appears to serve food approved by the United Nations (food from different parts of the world). This is the type of menu Gordon Ramsey would go crazy over and shred to pieces. Portions are not larger than before but prices increased considerably! Food: I ordered a Veggie Omelette with Spinach added and Whole Wheat Toast, decaf coffee, and water. My friend ordered an all-meat skillet, sourdough toast, coffee, and water. The omelette/skillet was overcooked and dry. My friend sent back his toast because it was served with a MOLD SPOT on it. Our server was not swayed by the mold and replaced it. No apologies or contact from the managers. By this point, we just didn't want to finish what we ordered and left. Dining room is well lit and spacious. Lots of available seating but could not help that their "Grand Opening" sign has been hanging outside for WEEKS. Servers are slow and never seem to be pleasant (more melancholy). Overheard one server speaking with some guests at a table using profanity. This review was based on my individual experience. This used to be our favorite breakfast spot but clearly is no longer the case. Having watched the gradual decline in quality and service, I am no longer inspired to spend my money at AZ Diner.

Her sister ordered the respectable spaghettini. I ordered the phenomenal meatloaf (smoked then slathered with brown gravy oh yes). Yummerlicious. No one needed a container to go. Nice little neighborhood restaurant. Clean. Good service. We'll be back.

The croissants were complimentary, but even then, they were dry and underwhelming. I honestly would've preferred some warm cheddar-baked biscuits with little bits of cheddar throughout, brushed with a little honey butter. Now THAT would've been something! The ambiance didn't impress me either. The one bright spot was our waiter--he was absolutely awesome, attentive, friendly, and gave excellent service. Great waiter, but unfortunately the food and overall experience missed the mark for me.
