My first time here. I believe it's a newer restaurant but I'm not positive. It's looks and feels brand new inside. It was pretty busy and it was a weekday for lunch so that's a good sign. There are a few of these scattered about manhattan but I love how easy it has been for me to get in and out of this place. I always gravitate to the Dim Sum dishes (because let's face it. I can eat dim sum all the time). There are fish tanks in the front as you walk in so I would imagine if you're getting entree dishes the seafood is fresh). My favorites here have been the steamed pork riblets, hat gow, shu mai, pork and leek dumplings, mushroom dumplings and soup dumplings. The most I've enjoyed dim sum since going vegetarian. They have so many options, meat and non-meat, it was honestly a little overwhelming. As someone who loves dimsum, I expect a lot when it comes to dimsum. Did not know expect that much from Dim Sum Palace, but this place was super legit Canto food! Everything was perfect - from the fish maw soup with generous maw to the pea pods. The noods with seafood had a lot of wok hey flavor. The dim sum dishes were also all pretty spot on. Honestly nothing to fault- only complaint is that the wrappers of the dumplings are a bit too thick for my taste but otherwise all the insides were great. If you want some legit dim sum, this is the place to go if you're in the area (since there aren't that many). read more

We got a bunch of different dim but some of my favorites include: -chicken feet -shrimp shu mai -chicken soup dumplings -shrimp dumplings We also ordered half a duck, which came with 5 buns and they threw in an extra since we had 6 people. This can still get pretty busy so there's a need to make reservations if you're bringing a big party. Most people seem like they come here for the dumplings. These mostly are filled with meat such as pork. Among the dumplings are only a few vegetarian options. The best of these vegetarian versions is the Vegetarian Dim Sum Platter. It's $14.95 and you get quite a large variety of these, which come in cool colors. The dumplings are filled with vegetables such as carrots, peas, and other vegetables and come with hot pepper paste and sauce. A pretty convenient location if you're just north of Rockefeller Center. All of the dishes (particularly the turnip cake and the scallion pancake) were amazing, and easily as good (if not better) than what you'd get at fancier dim sum restaurants.
