Checked out this place with my family on a Saturday afternoon. Was busy, but the buffet line moved quickly. Was pleasantly surprised at the selection of protein and veggies. They also have foods such as pizzas and fried chicken for people in a party that don't like Mediterranean food. The food and dessert was all delicious. There aren't a lot of hit Mediterranean spots around Cerritos, you have your Halal guys and a couple smalls hops here and there. So glad that there's finally a buffet spot to satisfy your cravings! At the buffet, there's plenty of choices of appetizers, salads, and meats. We came here on a weekend night, and left feeling very satisfied. It's seriously a solid choice for anyone even if you're new to Mediterranean cuisine. My highlights: -Several choices of yummy hummus (the spicy one is where it's at, classic hummus taste with a mild kick). Also the bread!! (I didn't try the pita bread, but the round fluffy one was gooood- not sure what this one is called) -Gyro -Lamb -Lamb shank: there is a small sign that says only available per request (1 per person). I wish there was a dedicated staff person to serve lamb shank or maybe be on standby for people who need help? We had to flag down staff who were walking in and out of the kitchen (frankly they looked pretty busy doing their own thing) and it definitely took a few minutes to get their attention. It wasn't a huge deal though, especially because the lamb shank was bomb!! Great flavor (I'd describe it as herbal) and very good texture- pretty much falls off the bone. If I were to mention anything else, I wish there was more staff to walk around offering to take finished plates. Our table had all our plates just stacked and we eventually were running out of table space as we made our 2nd/3rd rounds of food. Not a big deal though- Also I like that Dimassi's pays attention to cleanliness, in that they have hand sanitizer and gloves on the floor. Admittedly I don't think many customers really used the hand sanitizer or even the disposable gloves, but it's a nice thought. I think the bottle/glove box placement should be a little more obvious to encourage people to use it. They were kind of to the side, so maybe it wasn't extremely obvious that it was for customer use. Also, I did want to make note that there is PLENTY of seating! Not sure if it'll still be like this once Dimassi's takes off in popularity lol. And I did notice that they had- what I believe is, a smoking or hookah area outside, not sure if that is an additional fee/service to partake in, but it is neat if you're into that. Overall, there are no major complaints about Dimassi's, and I'll definitely be coming back for more! The restaurant is newly renovated, clean, and aesthetically pleasing. Service is great, staff is helpful and comes by very quickly to pick up your used plates. They always ask before taking your plates away which is awesome! There's a huge amount of variety -- so many options for fresh tasting food! My favorites were the traditional and avocado hummus, the pita bread, roasted potatoes, tzatziki, and lamb gyro! Everything was super flavorful, fresh, and just plain good eats! They also accommodated our whole team of twenty or so for a work welcome lunch. We were seated in a nice space where we felt comfortable and out of the way. Great place! Mediterranean is one of my favorites cuisines. I am so surprised I've only recently found out about this place. Came on a Sunday when they first opened. Restaurant was bright and clean. Neutral smell, very well ventilated so you don't have to worry about old food smell lingering or harsh smell of cleaning products (you know what I mean)? I am highly sensitive to smells and it bothers me. So first impression-all the food are well presented-nearly, fresh, beautiful presentation. Lots of options for plant based. I like everything I tried. All the salads except arugulas. 3 different hummus and baba ganoush. Loved the grilled eggplants. This is an all you can eat buffet. The food is fresh and excellent. If you want to eat fresh Mediterranean food that is good for you come here. To end it all they have a delicious rice pudding made with rose water that just tastes like heaven. I totally recommend it. As far as how genuinely Mediterranean the food is I'm not too sure about but the place was sure full of middle eastern people from all walks of life, Arab, Israeli, Asian, Latino (me) ‍. The dessert choices wasn't overwhelming, but had an overall good variety. The Baklava was hands down so delicious. I went for two servings! Fountain drinks are available, including water and coffee. Rose water is also an option. It had a distinguished flavor. Not bad, but something you have to acclimate to with each sip. I enjoyed it. The ambiance was calm, considering that it was lunch time and people were coming in small waves. Very clean. A box of gloves are offered for free where the plates are placed. In case you don't want to touch the serving spoons. That's a nice touch. The staff was wonderful. Cleaning crew was diligent when picking up plates, cups and utensils. They come around often and ask if they can pick up the plates. Very kind. Did not feel rushed. The restaurant was spotless. Clean. Spacious. Comfortable. Pricing is amazing for everything you get. Haven't heard of a Mediterranean buffet, so when my wife mentioned one I was eager to go. The restaurant opened on July 4th 2022, and the manager mentioned that it took them 6 months to renovate the restaurant. The interior design is clean and immaculate and the staff are friendly. The bathrooms were also clean and the sink bowls were a nice touch. Some of my favorite dishes were the roasted eggplant, babaganoush, lamb shank/ribs, falafel, meatballs, freshly baked pita, rice pudding and the desserts. There's a plethora of combinations to be had once you've selected your favorite entrees. I wish there was a hot station for freshly sliced gyro meat and hot kebobs on a skewer. But overall the selections were fantastic. The soft drink dispenser is so new the drinks were excellent and that made me smile. My mom and I decided to try this place. The total for two was $60. It's a buffet style restaurant. They have limited items but they are all delicious. We walked in and were greeted by a young girl. They do seem to be understaffed. They don't come by and pick up the dirty plates , the staff waits until the guest have left to clean the table. The atmosphere is very calm and relaxed. We were walking out at about 6pm and there was a crowd coming in and going out. It seemed like dinner was about to get busy. The quality of the food is great. We will definitely be back. A great and unique dining experience! My mom and I wanted to try this place out here at the Cerritos Towne Center since we've seen it all over social media. Parking is a bit of a struggle but there should we plenty of room throughout the plaza. It was pretty crowded, but you should be seated rather quickly. The buffet line was a single line with the greens, meats, and dips all laid out for folks to grab. I do with that the line was reorganized a bit, since the lamb shank (one per person) caused quite a backup in the line, but it moved rather quickly. Props to them for also having gloves available for guests too! The food ranged from average to great, with the Tabbouleh, meatballs, and grape leaves being some of the best dishes out there, while the falafels and kebab being nothing too remarkable. That being said, there should be something for everyone to like. Drinks are also included too, which was an awesome touch. Service was overall great, with the hostesses being very nice and friendly to folks walking in. The paying process is a bit confusing, where you pay walking out through the POS/iPad, rather than receiving a check at the end or paying upon entry. I was disappointed in everything, especially after wanting to try this for the first time after hearing about it a few days ago. Dimassi's is a Mediterranean Buffet where its specialty is, well, Mediterranean food. Because of this, expect to see things like Pita Bread, Falafel, and other things of this specialty when you go, but it is all-you-can-eat. For those who are vegan, this might be a spot that you may enjoy since much of the food is catered to such a diet. For those who are looking for another dining experience that is a buffet, you may want to look somewhere else. "So what's the problem?" You might ask....Well, everything. Let me explain: first, I will say that I am not a vegan, so most of the dishes they had were not up to my liking. However, I knew this going in, but I did recognize some things that would be intriguing to me. They had gyro, shredded beef, and Lamb Shank! Hearing that they had Lamb Shank was my major reason for coming here, and I was ready... Until I stepped in and took my first bite. First, to say that this is a buffet feels like an overstatement. What amounts to a buffet is pretty much a small line-up of food that it reminds me of the breakfast/lunch kitchens we were part of back in elementary school. It's disappointing, to say the least, and I found myself a bit put off from this. While this was going through my head, I still tried to remain confident. After my first bite of the food, I was immediately turned off, but I tried to continue to eat, but nothing was changing my opinion. Much of the presentation is great until you eat it. Certain foods you think would be warm or hot, we're cold and vice versa. There was barely any taste on the food, and for all of the spices and seasonings they listed for each dish, it all culminated into a very bland and cold experience. I didn't make it past half of the two dishes I had on my table. In-between this, I was wondering where the Lamb Shank was, that would've raised my spirits...until you find out that it is only either one per adult or one per table (iffy on the details) but any more is $10.99 extra. To clarify, I looked on their menu online and found out about what they serve, and nowhere does it state something like this. The Lamb had little to no excellence in presentation and just simply was a hunk of meat with some form of greasy looking drip all over it that was supposed to be a sauce. It was hot, so at least I hoped it would change my mind, but the meat was bland. No hint of seasoning, nothing; just pure, bland Lamb. The atmosphere was not lively at all. Nobody seats you or helps you on your table, many are at the cashier table and the rest are cooking, but it gives a feeling of who do you talk to or ask for something because the service is a confusing one. Also, even the structuring of the buffet is an odd one, with the seats being spaced in three different sections and some being right where the buffet line was. I know this is seen in other buffets, so I am not trying to come off like it is unusual, but there was no flow to the structure. The Customer Service was okay, not bad, but I expected more, especially for the price that was being paid for ($25.99 each plus tax). Me and my Mother were the ones who went, and after a few bites of everything, and my Mom biting into something that almost made her want to vomit, we tried to get a refund to no avail; so we stuck it out for a bit longer. The dessert was...awful. They had a dish called Namoura, but what it tasted like was cinnamon or a peppermint candy, and not in a good way. My mother said the fruit was hard and not flavorful, and I tried something else that looked like Namoura (you'll know it as it looks red and green). Needless to say, it tasted like medicine, and my gut reaction was to spit it out the second the taste hit my tongue. In all, it is a very disappointing and miserable experience. It was $65 dollars down the toilet that I felt could've been spent somewhere else. I'm not sure who this may be for, but I would encourage anyone, even if you are into food like this, to save your money and find a different place to eat. I would even argue to go to Halal Guys if you want a Mediterranean dish. At least I know for myself that I will like the plate that I buy despite the price being steep nowadays. A no nonsense all you can eat Mediterranean buffet that is absolutely incredible. I would give it six stars if I could for the food. The service is not really there, but that doesn't really matter as it's it all you can eat buffet and you serve yourself. You see yourself, go up to the buffet, and, eat your fill until you're done. It's a no nonsense high-quality place that I got lunch for a total of $21 on a weekday. That includes all you can drink, sodas, coffee, and teas. We were craving Mediterranean food and came across Dimassi's. This restaurant is buffet style so you just walk in, find a table, get all your food/drinks yourself then pay before you leave. I think it's a bit weird that you pay after you're done because other buffets make you pay before you walk in to get food. Anyways, options are decent but quality could be better. They had so many vegetable options but the meat options were so small. They have lamb shank and it's only one per adult and you have to ring a bell for someone to get it for you from the back kitchen. Most of the food was either a little bland or overcooked. Not impressed at all. It gets really busy during dinner hours too. read more
