And when middle aged men coming walking in wearing t-shirts it doesn't help with the lack of ambience. But again, the food shines. A buffet with everything to satisfy vegans and carnivores. Believe me, you won't leave hungry. From various Mediterranean salads; to hummus and tabouli spreads, the buffet wanders to rice, chicken & rice, cabbage, fish, roasted chicken, fried chicken and lamb. Want sliced gyro meat? Just ask. To date I've been to all but one of the Dimassi's locations and this is consistently the worst performing. I would not recommend this particular location to anyone. The last three times we've gone to the Katy location we have said to ourselves "never again." Circumstances had us driving right by, though, and we figured why not give it another shot... Nope. If you love eating all types of Mediterranean Food and don't like to just get one dish. Then there is this place for a buffet. They have a variety of meats and salads/veggies. Plates of falafel, dolma, hummus. (self control, don't try to eat 6 dolma's at once) I try to watch my carbs because of all the rice, and bread that you can put on your plate. The salad selection is pretty much a healthy garden. I will say Mediterranean cauliflower is the greatest. I can eat their cauliflower everyday with the way it's baked with olive oil. read more

So I've driven by this place a hundred times and always wanted to try it. But it looks from the outside like it could be a real train wreck of a place, but I finally ventured in with a group some of my customers to take them out for lunch (I know, taking them to a place I hadn't vetted yet...scary, but I live life on the edge, what can I say?). There was some concern as not everyone was gung-ho for Mediterranean food, but I figured with an AYCE buffet there would be plenty of options. Boy was I right. The place was a real hit and everyone found several items they liked. From rice dishes, to grilled chicken, fish, and potatoes. Grape leaves, hummus, babaganoush, falafal, and kafta, it was all here. Tons of fresh pita too. While oddly they didn't have any gyro or schwarma to try everything I ate was pretty tasty. Being an AYCE place for $12 a person I was not expecting 3 star Michelin offerings which was good, as I would have been dissapointed. But to be fair, I liked just about everything I ate and I was really impressed and surprised by the staggering selection. If I could have made four trips I still would have not tried it all. As it stood I barely had a plate of vegetables and salad, before making room for some fish and chicken before hitting my limit. Of course I had some pita which was good and the hummus was well made, though I think I prefer mine with a bit more lemon juice. Still it was good and everyone left glad I picked the spot, so for that alone I am a fan. The dessert selection was good, rice pudding, and lots of baklava. The baklava was not game changing but it's tough to screw up and I still ate two pieces, so it was good. Apparently it's under new ownership, which means the food tastes worse, service is degraded, and it's all around disgusting. And it smells like a chemical toilet. I think it's the cleaner they use. I could not eat. It didn't stop them from charging me though. Terrible. I really hope someone from the new management reads this and fixes these problems. Yelper's have failed me on this one. Hummus tasted like mayonnaise, falafels were terrible, vine leaves forgettable, salads and meats looked better than they tasted, bread was meh...... Nightmares of Golden Corral started to creep into my head. How did this buffet cost $11? Whaaaaaaaa??? Was I eating the same food as the others who left stellar reviews? I looked through the pics and yeah it looks the same! The interior is as bland as the food. It obvious they put minimal effort into making the place look nice. Parking is no problem. To-go is $6.99 per pound which should be the cost of the dine-in buffet. Wont go back. read more

The thing that saves this from being a five-star rating is the fact that you are on your own from the moment you walk in. You set yourself, but there's no sign to point that out. So I stood there until the cashier finished ringing someone up, then he told me to just sit anywhere and go get my food when I wanted. I got my food, got my own drink and found a table. There was a sign saying that gyro meat was available any time upon request. That would have been great if I had ever seen anyone to request it from. There's a good selection of salads- from a Greek one to a pasta one. There's hummus and great pita bread for dipping. If you're a vegetarian the options are endless- it's wonderful. I am rating this place as a buffet as I am sure you could get a bit better somewhere else because the food is made when you order it. That being said, this buffet is the best I have had in terms of flavor; that includes non Mediterranean based buffets. I have no idea what I am ordering at places like this and I don't like to waste money on food I end up hating so when it comes to new things a buffet is nice. This one is extremely good and does a good job with selection based on the space they have. Not only that but you don't get charged extra for eating an idiotic amount of baklava!! Awesome! Note: If you are extremely anti-social and they are busy you night not like the seating arrangement in the center. Think - cafeteria style for 80% or more of the seating. They do have tables to use along the walls that are the typical 4 seats per arrangement. So good for big groups! Last note for cheapskates or maybe extremely lazy people. Its pretty much self serve from when you walk in. The drinks are self serve and you sit where you want. So no pressure to leave a big tip for anyone. The employees are very nice; you are just on your own when it comes to getting a refill. I sort of liked this setup for a buffet if I am honest. This place seemed ok. I used to go to this place more often when they had a location closer to sugar land. There is a lot of out door seating which is nice, but too bad Houston weather sucks. I think the inside seems small but would work. The buffet food is better than any other out there. My only gripe is the food is not really hot. I wish they would heat the food up a little hotter. I would say that you should give this place a try. Katy I envy you for having this place nearby. There are a variety of dishes for you to choose from. Meats include yellow chicken, baked chicken, crispy fried chicken, fish, shredded beef, and beef kabob. I also like their lentil soup but wish it was hot. The food is wonderful. Baring some unfortunate turn of events I will continue to be a repeat customer. I've been visiting this Dimassi's for about a year now and have gone at different times/days. You will definitely notice a difference in the quality of the food between lunch and any other time of day though. I highly recommend going during the busy lunch rush on any day M-F. Going during the slow times (not lunch or early dinner times) could give you the wrong impression about how great the food at this place really is. On my first visit I tried a little bit of everything and now I have it whittled down to my favorite choices. All my co-workers do the same thing, and everyone has their own different favorites. I absolutely love the mustard chicken and during the lunch rush it is juicy and cooked perfectly. The roasted cauliflower is a must have and out of the several rice options, I always go for the rice pilaf (the one without meat or lentils). The cabbage salad is sooo good and refreshing. The gyro meat is kind of a crap-shoot. Some days it's cut thick and juicy and delicious, and then other days they give you a plate full of thin, crispy pieces that aren't very appetizing. I only wish there was more consistency with getting it cut right everyday. The ambiance is nothing special but that is kind of a good thing. You walk in and do not have to wait to be seated or anything. No awkward standing by your table while a waitress asks for your drink order (like at the Chinese buffet). You simply walk straight to the buffet and help yourself, then get your own drink and seat yourself. No waiters, but the busboy/girl keeps everything clean the entire time you are there. Then pay on your way out. Absolutely fabulous for working people who need to get in and out at lunch time on a 1 hr break! We love that there are numerous vegan options on this Lebanese buffet and all labeled accordingly. (Please note that the yogurt is NOT vegan and sign needs updated). Overall, very satisfying cuisine at this location. Delicious Hummus, Tabouleh, Lentil soup. The staff is friendly.
