Dime Store has become one of my favorite brunch spots in Detroit. The space feels warm and inviting, and the staff always moves with a calm, friendly energy that makes the whole experience easy. I always order the bacon avo omelette and the spicy korean fries -- both are fresh, flavorful, and made with real care. The omelette is light but satisfying, and the fries have that perfect kick that keeps them memorable. It's a place that turns a simple brunch into a little moment. Always worth the visit.

The Dime Store was really good! I am thinking about how I can recreate my meal at home! They also had really good cocktails. I got an espresso martini with tequila and it was amazing! Our server was really nice and so were the host. It is a cute, small, restaurant connected to another building. We parked in the parking garage across the street. If I were ever back in the area, I would go back!

We came around 8:30am on a weekday and got seated right away. My veggie benny was the perfect start to the day. I appreciate that it has veggies, protein and carbs all in one. Everything was very yummy. The potatoes were sliced thinly so they had the max surface area for the Cajun seasoning. Service was friendly and helpful. When we walked by couple hours later, there was line out the door. Would definitely come back and sample other items on their menu.

Came for breakfast on a holiday and we're seated right away. They got packed later in the day so coming early was clutch. Staff was friendly and accommodating. I ordered off the specials menu since it was our first time. I enjoyed the Red, White and Blue waffle (minus the sprinkles). It was super fluffy and a nice combination of flavors. Highly recommended.

Went on a breakfast date with my husband here, on a weekday morning. It was rather empty, but the food took a while to come out. The service was great no complaints, our server anticipating any of our needs and was great. I had the French toast with a side of scrambled eggs with bacon. The eggs were fantastic, the French toast was blah I don't really care to add syrup to my French toast but it was needed this time. My husband did a build your own omelette and loved it.

Came here to eat on Saturday while we were in the area and we enjoyed it so much we came back another day for takeout. The first experience would have warranted 5 stars but our second experience here wasn't as good. First time we came we sat at a table and had a wonderful server by the name of Paul. He was attentive and friendly. I ordered the Mexican Street Corn Hash and my bf ordered the cold-smoked salmon benny with the hollandaise sauce on the side. We both enjoyed our meals. On Monday morning we were hungry and decided to get take out from here. I ordered the spicy Cuban rice bowl. This dish sounded great but it was actually bland. The rice was also clumped up a lot. Regardless of the dish, the hostess this time around was extremely rude. Gave us nasty attitude for no reason.

Went to Dime Store for breakfast and was very happy my first meal in Detroit was soo so good. We had the Duck Bop Hash and the Corn beef Hash. They were so good. If you know me for real you know that I hardly ever eat all my food. I ate the whole thing with the exception of the English muffin. It was absolutely delicious. My server Nicki was really nice and friendly she told me the Duck was the most popular so I went with that. The caramel chai latte was also very good not too sweet. 10/10 recommend.

The dime store located in downtown Detroit in the Chrysler building. Features scratch made breakfast options, cocktails, with a lively atmosphere. They have all of your favorite breakfast classics plus some new and unique options as well. I got an order of the Chesapeake Benny and the strawberry and cream waffle. This is a great breakfast/brunch spot to enjoy in Detroit.

This place has such good reviews...I was excited to check it out when visiting Detroit. There were two seats at the bar when we got there on Sunday morning so we were able to be seated right away, which was nice. There was a huge line by the time we left so I am very thankful we got in when we did! With the great reviews and the large line, I honestly expected to be wowed a bit more. Maybe I built it up too much, but my friend and I both thought the food was just average and not really worth all the hype. We each ordered an omelet which came with the house breakfast potatoes and choice of bread (rye for her and an English muffin for me). They made my omelet wrong the first time and seemed a bit annoyed at having to remake it (I promise I was super nice about it!). We both thought the potatoes had a good spice but they were quite dry and my English muffin was dry as well. The omelet itself was good but just a normal omelet. Nothing bad, but nothing amazing. Maybe we just got the wrong things? All in all not a bad experience at all, just not as good as expected.

We were in town for weekend and stopped in here for a meal before the Detroit Auto Show. This place is awesome. The staff was friendly, and our waitress was an absolute vibe, a national treasure, and overall amazing at her job! This is a small restaurant, but they make really efficient use of their space. I didn't get pics of all the food. I started with a chai latte, and it was really really realllllllly good. Like I'm going to be dreaming of this chai latte for a while! The got the braised beef Benny. It was great. Their hollandaise is divine. My son got the corned beef hash, and it was great! We also got the French toast topped with fruit. The icing on the cake was their homemade strawberry jam. This was a wonderful meal with even better service!

Met a friend en route to Canada; great proximity to the tunnel and the expressway, and nice downtown location. Didn't have to wait for a table this morning, which was great. Waitress was promptly at the table, taking drink orders, then back to answer qs and get orders taken. I asked her if she'd rec the sausage and gravy bowl or the corned beef hash--she said corned beef hash was her favorite. Corned beef hash: they use Sy Ginsburg corned beef (made locally), which has a great flavor. Only wish the corned beef was hotter, it was served room temp-ish. The horseradish cream sauce was also very good, but wish it were on the corned beef instead of the eggs. Scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly, as were potatoes in the hash (also seasoning on potatoes was chef's kiss!) However, the Brussels sprouts and sweet potatoes were undercooked and crunchy; wish they not only steamed sprouts, but also seared to get a nice crust and sweeter flavor. English muffin was undercooked and chewy instead of toasted and crisp. Coffee was forgettable, I'd just get water next time. Husband had the enchiladas omelette which he said was tasty, and our friend got the biscuit & gravy bowl, which he also liked. Great service; food on the table in 5-7 minutes; appreciate that their menu features lots of made in Michigan items from around the state (back of menu gives deets).

Great Downtown Brunch/Brekkie spot. They were slammed with regulars and travelers like us. Visiting from CO, stopped in and ordered the Veggie Benny, Veggie and Enchilada Omelettes. Veggie Benny was so money that it didn't even know it! Perfectly poached eggs drizzled with hollandaise sauce, fresh veggies on a stellar toasted English muffin. The omelettes were tasty, but the clear crème of the crop choice was the Benny! Great menu and full bar, they even will validate your parking.

Can this business accommodate a party of 10 for brunch on the weekend?

No, I’m sorry, we are a very small restaurant with limited seating options for large parties and can only accommodate parties of up to 8 people.

    Do they have bottomless mimosas?

Hi Natalie! No, I'm sorry, we don't offer bottomless mimosas. (They're actually illegal in Michigan.) However, we do have one of the largest mimosas you'll find around town at 12 oz., as well as a mimosa pitcher option.

    Do they take reservations?

No it's first come first serve

What is the average wait time for a party of 5?

Best time to go is within 20-30 mins of opening as you will not have to wait. Wait time steadily increases from that point and peaks at about 1.5 hours. I always go shortly after opening and have never had to wait.

My husband surprised me with a birthday dinner here, and I'm glad that we got to experience it. We arrived in advance of our reservation and grabbed a seat at the bar. The bartender brought us a glass of wine while we waited. It took about a half hour, but we were shown to our table for the night and promptly greeted by our server. All of the food looked amazing, both on the menu and with what people were ordering at other tables. We chose a variety of dishes - cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, squid ink orecchiette, octopus, mushrooms, and scallops. I would recommend all of them, but the standouts for me were the Brussels sprouts and the scallops. Flavors were unique and textures were especially on point with those dishes. Service was good, but we both felt like it was slow. There was a slight glitch in the beginning of the night where the host stand didn't mark that we had checked in when we actually had, which probably contributed to the half hour wait at the bar. Aside from those points, it was an impeccable night!

First, the restaurant is up two flights of steps and there is no elevator. I injured my knee and walked up the stairs. Second, when I was seated and shown the menu, I was shocked at the very limited options. They only offer white- meat chicken, no rice or plain sides. I was going to try the greens but the server said they put vinegar on them which I don't care for. The Brussels sprouts with corn is a hard pass. I had no other choice but ordered something that I would never put together as a meal: fried catfish, sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts with corn. The fish was fried hard and needed seasoning and the sprouts were forgettable. They brought out hot sauce on the side assuming all people want hot/ spicy food. I wanted tartar sauce and they didn't have a traditional sauce- they had a " Cajun- style sauce." My friend had a crab cake for $25. When I called about parking, the hostess mentioned the cash lot behind the restaurant and.a parking structure across the street. She didn't mention that it was extremely expensive, I paid $24.49 for 1 hour and 6 minutes in the structure. Oh, I almost forgot that they added a 20% gratuity automatically for a party of 2! So, overall, my catfish dinner, 1 crab cake appetizer, and $2 up charge for the Brussels brought my bill to $74. Plus, the $24.49 for parking was a $100 night with no liquor only to have to leave and go eat elsewhere as what I wasted money on left me hungry and unsatisfied for sure.

I like that the booths are kind of private with the party you are with. For starters we had the pulled lamb shoulder hummus. They were so much flavor in the two bites I had since we split them in half. The branzino was good I have had better and the sides that it came with were a little on the small side it was Swiss chard and there was suppose to be romesco in it but I didn't see any and just a few pieces of fingerling potatoes. The ribeye was cooked to perfection and came sliced already the sides were plentiful and flavorful. The lamb chops were very small and not a lot of pieces and didn't really come with any sides. For dessert we split the Citrus Cheesecake and Trilece Cake. The cheesecake was very creamy and light the citrus taste was very pronounced and so fresh there wasn't any kind of artificial taste to it at all. The cake was delicious the cream on top was light and fluffy, cake was soft and moist, the sauce at the bottom gave it that extra touch that made it one of the best things I ate that night.

After being closed a year the new owners opened it back up as a craft slider "bar". There is nothing fancy about this restaurant. Its decor is basic wood tables and chairs in the center with booths lining one side of the space and a bar on the other. The staff are casual about you being there - there is no fanfare. When we arrived, we checked in at the host stand to get our names on the wait list. They text you when your table is ready. The place was full when we got there but the turnover was quick. We didn't wait more than 10 minutes and were seated in a booth. The menu is all sliders on one side and fries, salads, and sweets on the other. Fairly simple and the prices are beyond reasonable. The server told us most people get 3 sliders and fries. I did that plus I got a Moscow Mule to drink - it was only $5! I chose the Double Cheeseburger, Spicy Crispy Chicken (with a slice of provolone added), Olive Burger, and the Truffle Fries. Everything is served as soon as it's made so your items arrive at different times, which was fine by me. Each slider was served in its own cardboard "dish". Again, nothing fancy. The Olive Burger was really good - served with green olives and cheese on top of a beef burger. I liked the saltiness of the olives - it added to the total taste in a positive way. The Double Cheeseburger was actually pretty big so I would just get the single next time. And the Spicy Crispy Chicken was recommended by our server. He suggested adding the provolone slice, which I did. That was basically a buffalo chicken sandwich. And it was good! The truffle fries were excellent - you could really taste the truffle seasoning/oil. I also liked that they were the skinny type of fries. This is the type of independent restaurant I'm always looking for - one that sticks to its theme and does an excellent job of it. I'll definitely be back!

The fried chicken was a favorite at our table since it also had a drizzle of maple syrup (ala chicken and waffles.) I heard the guys behind me order a PB&J with bacon so I ordered one as well. That was a fun flavor profile, too. The Cajun fries weren't my favorite. I know there are a lot of reviews raving about them so I decided to try them. But, it's just a really heavy dusting of Cajun seasoning on top of them. No subtlety to the seasoning at all. The ambience hasn't changed over the years. It's an ode to horse stables and horse racing. A fun experience for our family to eat here before heading to the Tigers game.
