Just started going vegan and thanks to Dimo's I still got to enjoy pizza on super bowl Sunday. Got the Vegan Dad Bod 12" pizza which was delicious - good blend of flavor and texture. Great place for a slice of pie. There is quite a variety of pizzas that you can get slices from. From my understanding it's not all the pizzas listed on the menu are available for slices but there's still enough of a variety. There were about 7 lined up in front to pick. I myself eat a plant based diet and found it very easy here. I got The Forager salad, a slice of the naked 3 vegetable, and a slice of the philly cheesesteak. All were very very good. The salad was so good I didn't feel like I missed the pizza and the naked 3 veg slice I got had no cheese and I loved that as an option. Philly cheesesteak knocked it out of the park as well. Inside the restaurant is very pretty for just a pizza restaurant and there's plenty of room to sit. Basically this place is a home run whether you like traditional pie or the vegan version. Cool atmosphere but the food is overpriced for the quality. My friend spent 12 dollars on the baked Mack and cheese and it was just a 5x3 little dish of average Mac and cheese with breadcrumbs. This place obviously has fun with what they concoct for pizza toppings. Nonetheless, most of the pizzas looked extremely appetizing, some just a little destructive. I ordered the Finger Lickin' Chicken and the Chicken n' Waffles, both of which were satisfying. It's a great place to end your night out in Wicker Park sometime. There is no day I am not craving Dimo's pizza. I was in the wicker park area getting a few drinks, and my friends and I started to feel realllly hungry. Though we had some donuts earlier from Stan's, it didn't quite hit the spot, so I led them over to one of my favorite food stops: Dimo's!. My friends happily enjoyed the sights of all the specialty pizzas in front of them, and I immediately zoned in on the macaroni and cheese with chicken mole. The classic bbq chicken looked delicious as well, and because I had a few drinks in me beforehand, I ordered a third slice of classic mac and cheese pizza- this is why I attempt to drink as infrequently as possible. The chicken mole pizza was so satisfying. I found it better than the classic mac and cheese because, well, there was delicious protein! Normally I don't enjoy mole sauce all that much, but it wasn't very strong and the chicken, mac and cheese, and crispy crust with hot sauce combo was heavenly. The bbq chicken always delivers, but I think I should get something next time since it was a bit more on the ordinary side. Another thing that I love about Dimo's is the hot sauce they use: they have both sriracha and vinegary hot sauce which are perfect condiments for the pizza. Though $4 a slice is somewhat steep, my friends and I agree that Dimo's is amazing. read more

I want to give this 5 stars because they serve vegan pizza, and I go through times in my life when I become very lactose intolerant and they saved me. That also have unusual and delicious pizza toppings. They dropped in my book after I tried to order a few pizzas for my party and they were late by like 2 hours. I called to cancel the order because party was ending (it was getting to midnight!), and whoever was talking the call was trying to justify and being defensive about how busy they are on Saturday night. Well, that information should have been communicated when I placed my order. I will still eat here occasionally, but never will I order again. Taste is good: these are more hipster style pizza with empanels on toppings, and dough isn't the focus here. Price range on the more expensive but still reasonable side. read more

On the final night of my "Vegan Chicago Weekend", my friends brought me here. I was told they had the best vegan pizza around. We walk in and the place is totally "hipster", I LOVE it. They're playing Pokemon Gameboy theme music through the speakers and it's freaking awesome! I initially had a slice of their Philly Cheesesteak and a slice of their Cheesy Potato along with their vegan ranch. Everything was spectacular. It was so good that I bought another slice of Philly Cheesesteak. I highly recommend this place to anyone, not just vegans. read more

Dimo, oh dimo. Your staff is lovely and cute and there's no other place to wind up drunk none other than a chain cleaner than dive-bar-esque Santullo's that's playing club music round the clock. I want to like you so much because your slices look really artsy and appealing but your taste just does not match up to your looks. The first time I went here I forgot which slice I got because whatever was on it wasn't that memorable but your cheese toppings were adequately savory. The "killer bee" vegan slice I got was loaded with thinly sliced beets, sweetcorn and onions but the sauce was seriously *too* *sweet*. My friends got the waffle and chicken slice but they also concurred that it was too sweet and too doughy, too gimmicky. It's kind of a shame because the staff is so nice about explaining everything on each pizza and reheating it when I missed it coming up on the counter! pro-tip: if you have over 500+ instagram followers you can get a free slice swap on Popular Pays :-) and please, please ditch the philosophy classroom decor. I damn well know what Dimo's (not gonna lie, it's still weird not calling them Ian's) is all about. It's not like this location's pizza's are all that different from what you find on clark st. The biggest benefit is that it isn't on clark st. Hmmm, maybe that should add this to 5*, but the pizza isn't *that* good to merit that one. Dimo's is very straightforward. You go in, there's a whole variety of slices to choose from, and then you wait as it heats up again. What's most notable is that these slices usually work best when there has been some form of social lubricant involved (best if used in the malted beverage variety). The biggest benefit of the Damen location is that 1) you don't have to deal with the barleycorn crowd, and 2) there's way more room here. The clark location can be cramped and it does engage my inner douchebag, this location allows me to be my normal relaxed self while getting a drunk slice (or two) of pizza. So, to Dimo's (it's STILL IAN'S TO ME), thanks for now being in the hood and bringing your pizza craziness. read more

Good thin crust pizza with lots of inventive options that change up on the monthly basis. Some seasonal ones include pumpkin pie and al pastor, while the have some very popular standbies including the mac n'cheese, chicken and waffles, s'mores, of which the chicken and waffles is my favorite. Of course, it's not hard to find a favorite at Dimo's because given their choice, you're bound to find something you like there. The slices tend to have a good balance of their key ingredients so as not to be too overpowering, and they are all crisped up to perfection. All slices are $4.5, which is on the higher end, but there's no tax and they do have some good deals. Particularly the $9 tallboy, shot, and slice of your choice, which is available until closing. read more

We ordered those because my husband who's not a fan of ranch was not sure about that one ingredient on the Mac & chz pizza. Get it! Do not hesitate. Discovered this place after bar time this weekend. I am happy there is another by-the-slice place in WP, although I do love Santullo's. Pros: The selection is great... many different pizzas to choose from and they come out pretty quickly. Beer... They serve alcohol, tap beer, I might add. Quick...They seemed to move through the line pretty quickly, so don't worry about a long wait if you're hungry. Cons: Pricey... I was sort of surprised at the cost. 2 slices and a beer was $15. I wouldn't say it's over the top, but probably a bit more aggressive than I was expecting. Cleanliness...Maybe it was the time of night, but it seemed as though they were ignoring the tables. I really enjoyed that the pizzas are available by slice so you can try a few different ones, and that they are a thinner crust. Vegan pizza delivered? Yes! And it was delicious. I'm avoiding dairy for a bit and had a hankering for some pizza. Ordered the vegan dimo florentine and it was quite tasty. Here's why I didn't give them more stars.. It started to pour after I ordered. The pizza took an hour and forty five minutes, which I was okay with due to the monsoon outside. When the driver knocked on my door, I couldn't believe my eyes. He was on a bike, with a big plastic bag tied to the handle bars with an inner tube and that bag was carrying my pizza. He was soaked, freezing and not wearing the appropriate attire (no gloves or rain jacket) to be delivering pizza on a bike in the rain. While I understand that his attire is his choice, the fact that this guy was carrying pizza in a bag tied to his bike should be something the restaurant should ensure is up to par. I felt so bad for him and what was worse, I paid via cc (tipped 20%) and had no extra cash to give him. Dimo's - please take care of your employees and my pizza while en route! I hope next time I order, my pizza comes out of a delivery bag, dry and warm. read more

Neat, inventive pizzas. I'm betting this place is really popular with the typical neighborhood residents. Not personally being a vegan or gluten-free person, I went for a pepperoni and mushroom pizza. The prices seem a bit high for thin crust, but I tried it out anyway. The pizza tastes like it's homemade... Which is kind of a double-edged sword. Homemade pizza sometimes lacks the "chew" quality you'd want from pizza. That was kind of the case with this crust. Pretty good. Stopped by this evening while taking a stroll through Wicker Park and was drawn in by the awesome smell from outside the little shop. They had a lot of different options with great premium toppings, but none of them were very fresh. I had a slice with tomatoes spinach and feta, and my fiancé had a chicken and waffle slice. I ordered Dimo's for delivery the other night. I was having a lazy evening and the idea of cooking was unappealing. I'm a big fan of thin crust pizza. Having grown up on the east coast, I'm always on the look out for a NY-style-like pizza place in Chicago that can satisfy. This isn't quite NY, but it is seriously tasty. The crust was a little chewier than I would have liked. The toppings were excellent though. I got a fairly basic pepperoni but am now super curious to try some of their specialties. The sauce and cheese were excellent. I also ordered a side salad - the dictator. A Caesar salad with hard boiled eggs and lots of parm. The Caesar dressing was super thick and kind of hard to mix through the salad. But other than that it was yummy. Food was delivered quickly. I ordered fairly early, around 5 p.m. and had it in my hands by around 5:30/5:40-ish. I can't wait to try Dimo's again. read more

I really love Dimo's, mostly due to ease. It's so close to my apartment and so quick. You do need to make sure your pizza is hot enough. The crust is amazing. The caprese-type is my ultimate favorite but I try to mix it up quite a bit. They are cash only under a certain amount and sometimes it's annoying getting refills on your water. read more

$3 pint Mondays = Awesome They have about 8 rotating craft beers on tap including ones from some of my favorite breweries. What?! $3 pints all day on Mondays?! I'll probably be there every Monday from now on. They have interesting pizzas, both interesting good and interesting not so good, but interesting nonetheless. Slices are $4, and it seems all prices already include tax which is an added unexpected bonus. I also noticed some board games they had behind the counter, which I'm assuming customers are allowed to play. I may gather a few friends for $3 pints and games one Monday night in the near future. They also host a trivia night Wednesdays which I may check out sometime. Additionally, they host other interesting events that sometimes includes live music. I remember walking by one night and it looked like they were hosting an air guitar competition which seemed fun. All in all, Dimo's is definitely a welcome recent(ish) addition to the neighborhood. read more
