This is a fun, old school diner sort of out of the way, near a bunch of auto garages and warehouses. The servers there are really nice and it's a cool, retro atmosphere. The food is your typical diner fare - pretty good, not mind-blowing, but not too expensive either. They do seem constantly short handed, and they take awhile to take your order, and then another while for it to actually come out. No big deal if you're not in a rush, but probably don't go on your 30 min lunch break. read more

So I've been here once before with a friend and I was excited to come with my boyfriend who's never been here before. My first experience from what I remember was good. We came in on a Thursday morning, waited about 20 minutes which is no problem, it's a popular, semi small place. We got seated in the booth right in front of the entrance but there was a seat that got available at the same time in the back and not so in the view of other people so we asked if we can sit there instead. I definitely regret it too. The first seat we got sent to seemed decent and clean; of course because it's the first seat you see when you come in. But we asked to sit at a back one in the corner. The walls and window seal had scum, dust and old food on it. The booth was dirty and full of crumbs in the crevices and directly on the seat, our table was wiped right before we sat and still soaked, we took napkins to wipe the extremely wet table and it smelled horrible. It's hard to enjoy your food, enjoy the ambiance and breakfast with your significant other when all you smell is dirty rag water, the smelled lingered our whole visit and feeling food crumbs on your butt. It makes you feel like how well do they really clean this place and the dishes you eat off of? The food took a while to come out on top of that. The waitress was nice and apologized for us waiting. The food was nothing special, I ordered a grilled cheese with bacon and peppers. My grilled cheese was made with Kraft singles which sucked lol I always love a grilled cheese with real cheese not the artificial crap. I'm super disappointed about the cleanliness of this visit, yes it's a cute little spot but I don't think we'll be coming back. read more

Great food, big portions, and great prices. Also, the customer service here is great! If you're looking for a cute place to grab a filling meal for a good price, I highly recommend this place. It is quite small inside, but trust me the food is worth it. I usually come for their breakfast omelettes which are always hardy and will keep you full for hours. This place is so cute!! My husband and I were trying to find a place to eat for breakfast and we stumbled upon Dimples Diner. We were told there was a 15 minute wait but we got in much sooner than that (which was a relief because we were getting HANGRY!). The interior makes you feel like you really stepped into the 50's. The waitress was really friendly and nice. Food came out quick and hot, and it was DELICIOUS!! Their country potatoes are very good. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, just enough seasoning. I got the breakfast burrito with ham, and my husband got the eggs & bacon + pancakes meal. SO so good. Went to this location while on vacation. Cute little dinner where seating is right up next to the open face kitchen/grill area. My family came for breakfast and they were fast to seat us. We were able to watch them make our food too which was fun. I got the bacon,tomato, avocado and cheese omelet which included hash browns and a bread side (I chose biscuits with gravy). Food was delicious, bacon, tomato, and cheese were not skimpy. Avocado was not the ripest and on the smaller side but it sufficed. The inside of the business has a whole bunch of toys and some older memorabilia stuff I guess to make it seem like a 50s/60s diner.... mostly just made my kid want to play with it all haha. I wanted to like Dimples more, but unfortunately my food was very average. I almost didn't get to try it at all because the line was out the door when we went for brunch on Sunday. But luckily we were seated quickly; in general the service here seems to move rather swiftly. I ordered the chicken tenders & fries (one of my all-time favorite things to eat) but I found both to be very bland. The chicken fingers had too much breading on them & not enough meat. The fries were nothing special (not crispy & lacking salt). My mom ordered the mushroom swiss burger and said it was very good (cooked well, as she requested). My grandma seemed to enjoy her omelet very much. I think next time we go here I will have to try breakfast (seems like a safe bet). I also want to note that our waitress was very nice and attentive. I will definitely give Dimples another try the next time I am in Visalia. read more

Loving the feel of the simplicity of life, the old local breakfast spot that has so much history and respect amongst it's regulars and new customers alike. The food still hasn't changed, "and I meant that in a good way!" It's the local diner you crave when you think of fresh delicious food made right in front of you! I got the corned beef and hash meal with scrambled eggs, hash browns and a side of gravy! Don't miss out on the gravy! The only few quarrels I had was "they don't have a designated delivery service, nor any form of delivery" but of course that's not their fault. 2nd, if you're someone who hopes the crew is wearing facemasks or that social distancing is being put into affect, you should probably avoid this spot. As I'm writing this, things might have changed, but my visit was only two weeks ago. They had everyone crammed on one side of the diner, of course it's because they only had one waitress "who was so sweet", and one cook "very nice guy and good at what he does!", So it made sense but wouldn't sit well with face mask inclined people. Oh unfortunately they too weren't wearing any proper gear so again, if you don't want to bother with an establishment who isn't following "new business standards" then unfortunately this place is a pass. I was looking forward to this place. I can take the uncleanliness to a point. This was borderline and I looked past it. I live about an hour away so I'm not a local. If I was...Probably a different review. I was in front of 3 other groups and seated 5-10 mins before them. I'm a good tipper, a social person but I observe who is a local and they know as well. I ordered a standard burger and a fry. Nothing fancy. Simple. Waitress was nice but they put all the regulars First including the customer service. I get it though. I'm not from there. So the burger was burnt like the bottom of my shoe well done, fries were soggy, and had a flat soda. Oh btw...by the time I got my food. The 3 other separate groups (10 people total) were paying for their check and finished their food. My wife noticed they received their food 30-40 mins before us. We sat down 5-10 mins before 3 of those groups. I guess if I was a local, it would had been different. The good reviews are probably from locals. I don't plan on moving there so I won't be back for a long long long time. This is the only tip I will leave. read more

We arrived at 11:04am and we saw so many people that we figured, 'The food and service must be exemplar'. After providing the host with the party number and name, she informs me that there would be a 20-25 minute wait. We accept the wait time, but 43 minutes passed before we were called. My husband then(almost 2 hours later) asked the host, "How much longer for our food to arrive?" Her response not only lacked sympathy, but she didn't even acknowledged the long wait. Host: "I told everyone of the long wait, but you're free to leave if you want." Me: "He asked you a question, that response with the attitude is NOT necessary." So apparently, the host informed everyone by screaming it at the diner because she never came to us personally and informed us of the long wait. 10-15 minutes passed before our food arrived and the food was not worth the wait. I had the country style potatoes and the potatoes had a weird after taste, the butter tasted like margarine that was left open in the fridge, my daughter's French toast was soggy, and the pancakes taste like a cheap mix (not homemade). I'm all for supporting local businesses when we travel, but I could never recommend a place with such poor customer service. We only felt bad for the cook, he deserves all of the tips.
