Dinah's Chicken has been a Glendale Staple for over 40 years. The chicken is delicious and the condiments are outstanding. The dine area is small and on weekends you will wait for a bit. Why? The Chicken is full of flavor and the traffic of people going in to pick up orders show it. The spicy chicken is my favorite!

The staff were friendly and attentive. Something that is becoming extinct. The restaurant was clean and had a nice, vintage vibe. The waffle was one of the best I've had in L.A. Flavor was good. Texture was perfect. Whatever coffee brand they're using is tasty. I drink drip coffee, black, and it was the perfect accompaniment to the waffle. Their blueberry pie is yummy. I took a slice to go, and had it later on, at home, with ice cream. Wished I had bought two slices. I didn't try their chicken, but I'll be back for it. Parking lot available.

One thing I like about places that's been around, is that you know they stood the test of time, especially when it comes to restaurants, and Dinah in Glendale have been serving up Southern Fried Chicken for almost 58yrs now. Everything was exceptional, outdoor picnic table's reminiscent of the south, to warm, cozy and clean barn style decor inside this establishment. Service was great, helpful, and fast. We came here with only one thing in mind, and that's the Chicken & Waffles with a side of season fries, coleslaw, mac&cheese, and wanted to see if this part of town knows how to serve it. Our plates came out hot, and the fluffy, and dense waffles paired with perfectly cooked fried chicken blew my expectations. The fired chicken itself was crispy and juicy, and goes really well with the coleslaw if that's your vibe, n then you add the mac&cheese with season crispy fries to complete the cravings. Affordable, and Delicious served with a side of Professional hospitality described an experience at Dinah's Chicken.

Dinah's is pure comfort on a plate. The fried chicken is incredibly crispy and juicy, and the waffles are perfectly chewy/fluffy. Every bite feels like a warm hug, and the friendly staff makes you feel right at home. I absolutely love this place and it's so worth it to dine inside.

Ambiance: it's a small restaurant both for dine-in and takeout orders, limited seating inside, the shared paneling lot gets packed easily and there's ample street parking nearby, Service: friendly and fast, the food was served shortly after placing the order Food: classic diner food menu, with emphasis on chicken meals 2 PIECE 'N' WAFFLE - *** 2 PIECES OF CHICKEN, 1 WAFFLE WITH MAPLE SYRUP, choices of one wing and one leg, the waffle was chewy and not crispy, the leg tasted fine, the wing was too dry, and spicy sauces available upon request Price: moderate portions and affordable prices, expect $20+ per person for a quick bite, discount for cash payment

I love fried chicken and had never had time to try Dinah's in Glendale. I was in town the other week to visit family and finally had a chance to visit Dinah's Chicken. Dinah's has been in business for 59 years. What a great spot, as you walk up you are taken back in time, the decor, menu board and high-quality fried chicken. We were seated quickly even though the dining area is very small, they seem to turn the tables fairly quickly. The menu is simple but with plenty of options, my brother and I ordered the Chicken Dinner, which is served all day, it's a 3 piece of chicken, 2 sides, we chose the pineapple coleslaw and mashed potatoes and gravy. The pineapple coleslaw had a lot of flavors the pineapple gave it a nice refreshing taste, a must try. They also offer a chicken drumstick for one dollar, well worth it, it is nice sized. The chicken skin is nice and crispy, not sure how they fry the chicken, but I really appreciated the fact that the chicken was not greasy, the taste of the chicken was amazing. They have a variety of drink options and pies, I counted 8 different pies or so, some from memory are, Cherry, Banana Cream, Pecan, Chocolate Cream, Lemon, Meringue, Blueberry, they looked amazing, we did not have any space for a slice but next time we might prioritize a slice or two. You can also order food to go; I noticed that they have options under their family style menu from a 6 piece to a gigantic 36 piece (giant barrel O'Chicken) for 108.00 bucks. you can also order large 1/2 gallon to a full gallon of sides. If you enjoy gizzards and chicken liver, this is the place for you. One other point, the parking lot is very small, not kidding, plan ahead.

Trying this restaurant since 1967 with their fried chicken specialty and loving it! I had: 1. Fried chicken combo 2. Pineapple coleslaw - must try item! This coleslaw is not the same with all the coleslaws you've eaten before 3. Corn on the cob 4. Mac and cheese 5. Fried liver and gizzard

Stopped by Dinah's completely by accident after running an errand in nearby Los Feliz. The inside of the restaurant is pretty small, but the kitchen is not messing around and my food came out within 5 minutes. Here's thing tho - maybe I got lucky because of the dinner rush that the kitchen is cranking out a ton of food, but my chicken was hot and delicious!! I liked how the lunch size plate is any side of your choosing, so I decided on macaroni salad and it was pretty good! Chicken was meaty, well-seasoned, and crisp! Absolutely worth your time to stop in and give this place a try!

The food at Dinah's is always amazing. There's a reason that they have been a Glendale staple for all these years. The chicken is delicious, and any of the sides as well. You can't make a bad choice. The service is impeccable. And the cozy ambience makes for the perfect setting to enjoy comfort food. Whenever I'm in the Glendale area during lunch, Dinah's is my go to spot!

Box of Chicken, spicy with greenbeans and mashed potatoes.
    Cici L.

Friendly Cashier greets you from the moment you step inside. And the ambience feels like a film set, very fun decor. You just have to visit for yourself, words don't do it justice. Box of Chicken was very flavorful with the tangy, vingery greenbeans (perfectly balances the herbed, spiced fried chicken) and mash potatoes. Wishing the size of the sides were bigger because it was THAT good! But the pillowy soft, delicious roll with honey were included. Plus, there are PIES! Dine inside this adorable restaurant (outside tables and benches are available). Family Businesses are special and must be supported.

First time trying Dinah's and the fried chicken was amazing! Skin was crispy and meat was super juicy. We were all excited to try and eat that I forgot to take pictures lol! The restaurant is pretty small but has cute decors and looks cozy. It has take out orders and indoor dining. Friendly service and really good chicken. Ordered 4 drumsticks to go and the chicken was fresh hot and delicious . The coating was light and crispy and the chicken pieces were large and very tasty. There is a wait for the chicken but every order it is made fresh and not sitting around like other fast food places thats why we waited longer cause first we didn't call. The chicken was hot juicy, super crispy and delicious but not heavily battered unlike other places. They also have shrimp platter , coleslaw, potato salad and even home made pies. This is for walk ins only and not available online - 1$ drum sticks but you have to order 16$ worth of food to get the deal. Wait time: 15-20 mins wait coz we didn't call in first lol Price: a little expensive compared to Popeyes and KFC now Parking space: Somewhat difficult to find parking Service: Good service. Well worth a visit. I wish they have it in the Eastbay. Loved their chicken their gravy, mac and cheese and fries. Definitely worth to check it out.

    Mac & Cheese, very tasty!

It was refreshing and not overly sweet and had a slight foam on top. Foodwise we had fish and chips, the house salad, chicken buns and the grilled cheese and tomato soup. Birthday boy enjoyed his salad and fish and chips. I tried his salad and enjoyed the little gem lettuce dressed with green goddess. The chicken buns had the right ratio of chicken, toppings and bread and though an appetizer, was enough for a meal. The grilled cheese and tomato soup combo was the classic pairing. The grilled cheese with the blend of cheeses, crispy Parmesan crust and added bacon was delicious. I savored it with a knife and fork. The tomato soup was also good. The most we have seen so far, it was more a "business plan" let's do what Americans may think a German beer garden looks like. Our friend, the LA promoter Vahe, took us yesterday. We found a little gem, grown over the years, with an actual German owner and a service that had more than basic knowledge of German food. Nice! The ambiance was what you would expect from a place like this, less stylish-designer but more owner look-what-we-brought-from-Germany over the many years. The food was actually good, reasonably priced and generously portioned - the sauce platter really deserved its name "platter"- Came with great German curry ketchup. It would be too much to brag about the food, it was decent better than just OK version of classic beer garden dishes. But one has to be fair: where in German beer gardens you find food really worth bragging about? So while I was really tempted to stop at 4 out of five stars, I give 5. After all, it matches my most key how-to-get-5 element: would I do a 30+ min detour just to go here. If someone asked me to show them decent German cuisine in a somewhat authentic ambiance, I would take them here. The Kiez may be closer to our home, the Wirtshaus more stylish, but here we found the hearty welcome we missed elsewhere.

They found us a seat w/o a proper reservation, and the place was lively. Ordered the hummingbird, which was unexpectedly herbaceous. Tangy with smoky undertones. Refreshing. I quite enjoyed it. The husband got the bellhop, which he said was fine but not mind blowing. We ordered the Chicken liver toast, fried mozzarella, and chicken sandwich hot and spicy. The husband got the mussels. Chicken liver toast was served w mustard seed and berry compote, which highlighted the buttery fatness. The toast wasn't crunchy and a bit difficult to cut, but the pickled vegetables were fantastic. The fried mozzarella was simple and decently executed, somewhat generic and forgettable. Better than standard mozzarella sticks. The fries were crisp and perfectly seasoned. A+. That chicken sandwich was toothsome and juicy. Def worthy of a repeat visit. I'll be thinking abt this sandwich for a while. Of his mussels, the husband appreciated the spicy broth but was underwhelmed by the crusty bread it accompanied. I had a wonderful experience personally, hence the 4 stars, but proceed with caution.

The food is probably what would bring me back here. Few things about the scene - it looks cleaner in the photos than it looks/feels in person. The entrance door is open which invites a natural breeze, but it also invites flies. We sat all the way on the inside of the restaurant and flies were still helping themselves. Tables and seats are worn. When we went, some parts were sticky. I checked out another table and felt something similar, so I just tried to make myself as comfortable as possible by not moving from my seat. Service was not the best. Maybe it's because there were two of us, but we almost received no attention here. It felt like the waiters were more interested in people at the bar, so we had to flag down a few different waiters that were coming in and out of the kitchen for some help.
