My daughter decided this sounded good, so she ordered for me, her dad, and herself. This is a picture of hers, because I wanted aloe, which made it a bit transparent so it kind of just looks like iced tea, but you can't really see the huge chunks of aloe. There's tons and tons of aloe in mine, and she got hers with coffee jelly. My husband has Boba in his. I've had a lot of Boba tea, and I personally don't like Boba, which is why I didn't get it in mine, but all the tea that we had today was really good! I highly recommend this place. 1/29/22 HAPPY ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY to Ding Tea Came in for a taro slush + popcorn chicken, and to my surprise, the friendly cashier let me know it was their 1 year anniversary, so I get a free drink with my order so I added on a Thai tea :) It's a small store with a couple tables and an Instagram corner ;) They're speedy with their drinks, but expect to wait a little longer for any food orders. As expected in Reno, the drinks are made from powder, but still decent. The popcorn chicken is delicious but not a huge portion, so please don't ask me to share because I begrudgingly will. Overall, a cute little bubble tea spot with decent drinks and yummy snacks. Stopped in real fast for a tea. Quick service, cute shop and fun photo opp. Teas are good but I should have asked for less syrup in the passion fruit and pineapple green tea I ordered. I only order this on DoorDash since it's so far from me but it's worth it it's the only Thai tea in Reno that doesn't taste like sugar I can actually taste the components of the tea. This place is very cute when you walk in. It's located in a strip mall, but it's warm and welcoming inside. The menu is easy to read. They have lots of milk teas and other beverages. They offer different sweetness levels. There are also some snacks that a lot of people seemed to be ordering. I decided to go with the Taro milk tea. This flavor always reminds me of buttered popcorn and it is a nice treat. I get it half sweet, which is still plenty sweet in my opinion. I love boba, so I got the regular boba. My friend got the signature milk tea, quarter sweet. The flavor was great! Ordering is easy and the staff was friendly and patient, even when it was busy on a Friday. My only reason for taking off a star is the fact that my friend has been there 4 or 5 times to try to get different types of boba (which are all listed on their menu), yet every time they only have the regular boba. I assume their service is quick, but it wouldn't be fair to base my judgement on their opening day with the amount of people who showed up. It is safe to say their staff is friendly, since it was pleasant and easy to order once I made it to the register. I had ordered a "Taro Mousse with cheese foam," but the sticker on my drink didn't say "cheese foam" on it. They said the cheese foam was included. My friend had ordered his drink with the cheese foam on his and I could taste the cheese and everything. My drink didn't taste like there was any cheese on it. I don't know why the cheese tastes different if we ordered the same topping (but different drinks). It would also be convenient if they had the sip lids (no straw needed) so I could get a sip of drink with a bit of the topping. Also side note: they weren't taking cash today but there was no sign anywhere to tell me that??????? Their Facebook post didn't say that either. Decided to stop by here because I'd been to a few of their other locations before. I ordered the jasmine green milk tea with boba and the grapefruit green tea. The drinks here are just as good as any of their other locations. They were more on the floral side, the tea flavor is definitely present. The boba itself has an OK texture, but are quite flavorless--they don't have that brown sugar taste that I tend to like. It's located in a small shopping center, so it's very easy to find parking. The people working are friendly, although it took about 10 minutes to get our drinks, even with only one party ahead of us. If you're in a rush, I'd recommend ordering ahead. Definitely a nice new boba addition to Reno. I wouldn't say it's a good as Bay Area boba, but definitely worth stopping by! read more

Okay.. time for an updated review after trying a lot more drinks in their menu. Milk teas are my usual go-to, but at Ding Tea, I find myself almost always grabbing the Monster Boba Latte. This is one of the drinks that sweetness level, unfortunately, cannot be adjusted. So you just have to enjoy every single sip of this sinfully delicious drink! It reminds me of iced coffee; coffee jelly and boba are the perfect toppings for this drink. The aloe vera fruit juices are also a must try -- you cannot go wrong with any of the fruit flavors. All of them are delicious. The aloe vera jelly adds a fun texture and a pop of flavor to the juice drinks. For this visit, I opted for the passion fruit milk tea with crystal boba. A little to sweet for me. They weren't able to adjust the sweetness level to it but still a good drink. The place was hot when I came in. And they ran out of a lot of things.. including the aloe vera topping. read more

Extensive menu in a small place so it's a good idea to look online to decide your order or even place the order online for pickup. We've been there twice since it opened and both times there wasn't much of a line, maybe 2 parties ahead of us. However it does take a bit to get the drinks as they are busy filling online orders too. I've heard the drinks are adjustable in sweetness, but it seems you have to ask as they don't offer. I've tried the peach milk tea, strawberry yakult, lychee yakult, thai tea, and monster boba drink. The peach milk tea and strawberry yakult in particular were good with delicious fresh fruit puree tastes. The boba is good and soft chew and my kids like their jellies. I wasn't particularly impressed by the thai tea as it's pretty muted and the monster boba drink tasted just like milk with brown sugar drizzle in the cup, I did not taste the sea cream topping, and no tea is in it I've since learned. The popcorn shrimp is crispy and both offered seasonings are great, the salt&pepper flavor has a touch of 5 spice. The fried shrimp is forgettable frozen breaded shrimp. They are a nice addition to Reno, but I doubt I'd drive out of my way to go here, but certainly when I am in this part of town. read more

Update: 3rd visit - waited over 30 minutes for 2 strawberry yakult w/ golden boba. I thought it was suspicious that all the staff went into the kitchen and everyone stopped making tea. Then my drink was served in a hot cup (used for coffee, not clear). I took a few sips and noticed that I got jelly pieces, not boba. Once I got home I took a video and poured the contents of my drink into a clear cup to see what I actually got. The staff never informed me that they ran out of boba or if I wanted to substitute it for a different topping. I'm very disappointed and honestly upset that they tried to cover it up by putting my drink in a different container so I couldn't see what they gave me... Picture added. The boba texture is made perfectly and probably the best in town. A soft outer layer, middle layer with a gummy texture, and center is not firm and overcooked. Boba is not too chewy, has a sweet light honey flavor finish and golden color unlike normal boba tapioca pearls. Update: 2nd visit ordered the Aloe Vera Kiwi Juice w/ golden boba and the Passion Fruit Yakult w/ golden boba. Aloe Vera Kiwi Juice was very unique. Refreshing and not too sweet. Pieces of kiwi, crunch from kiwi seeds and I think it was aloe vera chunks. Definitely a nice, smooth summer drink if you dont want something too sweet. Finally had a chance to try this new boba place! We attempted to come here during their Grand Opening but the line was so long we were not willing to wait an hour even for BOGO bobas LOL! Came in mid-afternoon with a friend and there was a short line that extended outside. There were 5 people in front of us and it took about 7 minutes to get to the counter. We ordered green tea yakult with boba, iced thai tea, and popcorn chicken. Customer service was good. The clerk made an error on charging me which he apparently corrected but honestly, I never did check my credit card to see if I was actually charge the correct amount. The green tea yakult was just okay for me as it tasted watered down. However, it was my first time ordering that kind of drink so I had nothing to compare it to. All I know is that it barely tasted anything. I grew up drinking Yakult so I know how that taste like. My friend said her thai drink was really good, and our popcorn chicken was also delish. I ordered the signature milk tea with regular boba but they gave me golden boba instead which was still good. I also ordered the pineapple black tea with rainbow jelly and omg I thought I was going to overdose on sugar. It was so so sweet. I guess I should have asked for less sweet but I thought the normal wasn't too too sweet and boy was I wrong. I ended up not being able to drink it at all and threw it away. Okay I've came here twice now. First time I came in I had the monster boba latte. And the second time I tried their signature milk tea with boba. I can honestly say both were very good. Also I love their golden boba here, very flavorful and also the perfect texture. Ptolly the best boba pearls in the reno/sparks area. But I still wouldn't say this is my favorite place, but it is still very good and reccomemd it to anyone that needs their boba fix. Also customer service A1. I noticed that they messed up on the customers drink and automatically fixed their mistake and helped the customer out. Also the past 2 times I've came here ot has always been busy. TBH, I actually left and went to get the kids Frosty's at Wendy's. Disclaimer, this review is not a reflection of their Boba drinks because those are always top notch in my opinion but more of a reflection on management/owners. It was 85 degrees today and when I went in the store it was very warm and muggy (maybe they don't let them turn AC on). I used to live by Ding Tea so I would go more than I do now. It's been almost a year since I came in but today kinda disappointed me. I had really high expectations. First off, my drink was delicious I had no issue there. But I ordered popcorn chicken and it was not worth the $$ I paid for. It was half filled and most of my chicken was pink/uncooked. Not to mention, the sweet & sour sauce was filled barely a quarter of the container. The popcorn chicken used to be so good & worth it...now it just seems very undercooked. They need to remove the Guava Milk Tea off their menu. I came over last week because the Bubble Tea Station was closed and was excited that Ding Tea had something guava flavored. It did nottttt taste like guava at all and I can't even put into words what it tasted like but it wasn't any other fruit either. I ended up having to throw away the entire drink because it was disgusting... The boba was the only exception but I would never drink this guava drink just for the boba. The workers were nice but it's a shame the drinks don't taste good. I know Ding Tea has supposedly a good reputation but if you're from the bay, you should look for another boba place in Reno. read more

We have visited Ding Tea about 5 times. Here is my honest review: While the first two times was amazing, the last three times the quality of the boba has gone downhill. My wife is from Taiwan and has high standards for milk tea. One consistent issue about all of the boba tea shops in Reno is that their boba pearls are too chewy and dry in the center. When Ding Tea first opened up, they had the best tapioca (boba) pearls in Reno, most Taiwanese authentic; soft and smooth, slightly chewy, with no dry bite in the center. that is the key. But consistently the last three times we've visited, the boba is no different than the other shops. And with the limited seating capacity, less welcoming sit-down environment, and high prices (we paid $6.50 for their small popular monster tea), we would simply rather go to another local place. While I like the fact that you can choose the sweetness level, and the variety of Taiwanese snacks they offer, and the fact that it is affiliated with an actual brand from Taiwan (although unheard of in Taipei, maybe just Taichung) it simply isn't worth the price any more. It was the closest thing to a tea shop you would find in the LA area, in Reno. But the lack of authentic boba pearls does not match the price. And I'm still not sure how freshly brewed the tea is, or if its all 100% powder. (In Taiwan, most of the powder-based shops closed up. Everyone want natural, freshly brewed). Perhaps we will visit it in the future if there are notable changes. You can check out my other review of Num Num Boba. It's not so great either. I've gone back to this location a couple times now and have been pleased with the quality of the tea. I also followed the recommendation and have tried the garlic butter popcorn chicken and can I say absolutely delicious! I have gotten the classic milk tea and it's definitely my go to but ive tried the vanilla milk tea and some more fruit teas. They have the fivestar star program which is great for an avid boba fan like myself as i can earn rewards the more i buy:) Their online ordering is super easy Heads up: They dont take orders over the phone And You can't redeem the five star rewards online only in person which is a bit frustrating but not sure if thats a five star or location thing I witnessed them training a new person yesterday and the trainer was patient and kind while training.
