Wow. There's a reason this place has so many one star reviews lately. My pizza showed up with no toppings. I figured maybe the driver gave me the wrong pizza or something. When I called, the woman who answered immediately said, "Oh you ordered online," like this was a regular issue and not a mix up with the delivery. "Well, that's just how it shows up on our end, so there's nothing we can do." So that's the policy? Too bad, you'll just have to settle for whatever we give you? My own policy is not to pay for things I didn't order, so I'll be contesting this charge on my card. We could have worked something out and maybe I'd have ordered from here again, but she made it clear right away that wasn't going to happen. I was in an amazing mood until I heard a manager bashing an employee in front of customers and myself.. Word by word she said, "I don't need you, I have other employees stronger than you.. if you have school oh well.. don't come in tomorrow.." That's beyond unprofessional even behind doors. After a long and hot day of moving, Di Nico's was the only pizza place that picked up our call. The estimated delivery time was an hour and our food arrived after only 30 minutes! I can't stress how big of a relief this was. The pizzas we got were thick, crunchy, and super hot. It was heavenly. The mozz sticks had cheese that stretched to a foot or more! Truly incredible. I've been coming here since Nick and Joe had opened up a few blocks further East on Roosevelt. Over 12 years maybe longer. The address and faces may have changed over the years but never the quality of their product. They do pizza-by-the-slice right, it's a thicker crust doughy and saucy. The slice isn't over cheesed and it's a huge. They always seem to have it fresh and waiting. With 5 or 6 different styles to choose from. You really can't go wrong with any menu item. The chicken sub & boneless wings are both great. The wings come in mild bbq, hot bbq or Louisiana hot. All good. The staff has always been overall pretty happy, attentive and great. Whether it's busy, slow or steady paced, the staff recognizes me and are always extremely helpful. They're 24 hours. Can't recommend them enough. read more

If I could give half a star I honestly would . Quality is NOT a priority at This place. 9/10 times the pizza is stale to say the least . Sometimes you would think the pizza is leftover plain cheese from who knows when and they just throw in whatever else ingredients you ask for . I ordered this evening upon ordering I asked if they had stuffed crust pizza and the girl on the phone said "actually yes we do" I said ok would you please change my order and instead of the large pepperoni half cheese let me do a large cheese stuffed CRUST and a large pepperoni please she took the rest of my order and told me it would be about 45 minutes which I agreed to. Problem number 1 I arrived at the 45 minute mark and my order still was not done. Ok no problem it's Saturday night, it's busy I'll just wait. I went out to my car for about 10 minutes because the cashier told me about 10-15 minutes more. Go back inside order is still not done was told it shouldn't be to much longer no problem I take my self to by the window and wait.... while I'm waiting an older white male walks in being super rude to the cashier and other lady because he called for them to bring his order out to him and was told they didn't have his order there the older Hispanic women apologies because it was her mistake and the old man walked her a crack head while saying other stuff and yet the manager came over and said it was her mistake and told him to go wait in his car and she would bring his order out to him. The guy walked out and waited in his car. When his order was ready the manager walked out and took him his order by the looks of it she forgot his Pepsi so she ran back out to catch him and give him his drink. Totally ignoring the fact that this guy just called one of your employees a crack head but cool right ? So nearly an hour and a half later my order is finally ready I get in my car drive home not to far open up dinner and dammm I got my self a nasty ass deep dish cheese pizza that just so happened to drip all over my back seat. So I call and I explain what happened and how I ordered a stuffed crust pizza I get put on hold and transferred to the manager ones the girl at the other end says there's nothing they can do because they repeated my Order back to me I am positive I asked for a stuffed crust pizza so I say most places record the call do you guys ? Puts me on hold and that's when I get the manager. She says they do not. I press the issue she puts me on hold and tells me they can remake the pizza or give me a refund if I take it back I explain to her that I have a sleeping 18 month old and can not go drop off the pizza, I'd be more then happy to take it tomorrow because I have no interest in eating it because it is not what I ordered. Pizza that's not too pricey, but not always the best quality. On the pie we got, the cheese just slid right off the crust, and I'm pretty sure they use canned mushrooms. Great pizza! Every time we order, it's on time, or early. Delivery guys have always been friendly. Even now with social distancing (smiling and waving from their car or as they walk to their car). This place never gets things right. I do like the pizza but hate the service. They are so unprofessional. Example places order they say 20 -25 get there and they say another 39 minutes for some pizza slices? Come on. This place has GREAT pizza and GREAT service. Definitely one of my favorite spots from my IL trip. Would definitely come back here if I'm ever in town again. I just have one negative thing to say and it has nothing to do with the establishment but everything to do with the customers that were there a few days ago (referring to Jasmine C.'s comment below). It was quite packed but none of the customers were being thrown out as they were eating their food. Jasmine C. and her friends were being confrontational with the staff and it escalated to the point where the manager ended up calling the police on her and her friends. So not awesome pizza by any stretch (definitely at least decent) but when you get enough for 2 adults for $5 it's hard to complain :) The place is ALWAYS full of teenagers, so that should be a good indication of what the pizza tastes like. Saucy, sweet, crusty, but hey - sometimes cheap pizza is what you crave. I love this place if for no other reason than i can get a ginormous slice (1/4 of a large pizza) and a small drink to go for $5 regardless of what kind it is. Service is fast (seriously they want you out so they can take the ridiculous line behind you), food is hot and usually pretty fresh, and their slices to go include a decent selection of meats, cheese, veggie, thin and pan alike. They also have some pastas and a batterred rice ball thing that I love. They have wings now too but I didn't like them. the buffalo sauce was odd. Very hot and spicy but just not a very good buffalo flavor in my mind. But hey, maybe YOU'd like them. They also have some good desserts, inclduing brownies from Torano bakery. If they have any when you get there I recommend trying it, but they sell out fast. They are attached to the gelato place next door which I am a fan of, and also own Taco Yo on the other side. All cheap, decent eats. Parking can be tough since it is a strip mall with a lot of other stuff in it including a GameStop. Also, getting out onto Roosevelt when it's busy can take forever too. I've ordered from Di Nico's many times. They are really inconsistent. Sometimes the food is hot, fresh, and good. Sometimes the food is not worth eating. The meatballs are frozen pre-made slop. The pizza is good if you order is fresh but not if you get slices. The paninis are good when the are paying attention and make them as described on the menu and sometimes they are just toast with meat and cheese. If you're lucky you will get a decent meal. If not, you won't be able to eat it. I stopped gambling and won't order from there anymore. read more

I have spent several hundred of dollars here for the past 2 yrs or so ordering for a large family of six people plus company usually.. several times over the last couple months the pizza would come with the cheese slid off over to one side... I would call to complain cause that's what you do in situations like this when you pay for something and its wrong... today after waiting an hr and a half we called to see the status of our order and they told me the driver didnt have my number so he couldn't deliver my food and that he was at my house 20 min ago... I made a review about this place 6 months ago and have loved the food and the quick service they provide you with and I have been raving about this place since then. I order 2-3 times a week from them. BUT last night I made an order and paid with card and due to my phone service being weird I never got a hold of the delivery and received all messages 3 hours later. I call them now in the afternoon explaining them hey I was nt able to receive my delivery and was hoping like any regular customer that orders from a restaurant to be able to take care of me in a satisfactory way but to my surprise the manager was simply unable to manage a small issue like this and told me he would be happy to loose me as a customer because it was not their fault and mine that my phone was nt working. Wow ! I'm insulted , shocked and honestly very very very disappointed in how I was replied to. This is the kind of behavior that not only makes you loose a customer but motivates the experience to be shared to everyone I know. I have had many different experience here... some good some bad. Talking to a manger has helped but also had a manger call me a liar about their pizza maker putting sausage on my pizza when it was suppose to be pepperoni, I have had to go as far as sending photos and videos of my pizza to the mangers cellphone just because I was a liar to her because her cameras said different... clearly she was the one who lied not me. I came here many times almost ever other night just for a stuffed 14 inch half jalapeño half pepperoni but the ingredients taste changed like they went with another brand and I didn't like it so I started just getting it cheese only... i stopped ordering for 8 months or so because I was already a liar... they made the wrong kind of pizza or they have over cooked my daughters burger. Was starving at midnight so options were limited. Ordered baked mostaccioli and an Italian beef. Mostaccioli was way overcooked (so soft you didn't need teeth) and drowning in sauce that was definitely from a can. Italian beef was ultra salty and pretty spicy (didn't order peppers or anything. However, the pizza was poor quality and I would not recommend coming here if you actually want to stimulate your taste buds. - The pizza was seriously lacking in taste since it barely had any sauce. - The pizzas are big and the crust is thick but it was overpowered by the taste of yeast. - Topping selections were minimal and the cheese hardened within a few minutes after purchasing it which ended up having a plastic texture. - Meat toppings were also really oily. The range of toppings is more than I've seen at most other pizza places and they are normally able to deliver within a reasonable amount of time. If you're looking for a late night pizza place this is where you should go. To all the people complaining about their salads: you are morons. It's a pizza place. They make pizza. Why you would even order a salad from a pizza place to begin is questionable, let alone expecting a gourmet salad. Pizza, wings, cheese sticks, bread sticks and maybe fries. Common sense people... The rest of you gluten "allergy" morons. Celiac disease (which affects less than 1% of the population) is an auto-immune disease that is triggered by the protein gluten in the small intestine. It is NOT an allergy. So if you needed your inhaler after eating pizza, it has nothing to do with gluten. People who have REAL gluten issues become seriously ill because they can't break it down. Eating an entire pizza and feeling bad makes you a glutton (not to be confused with gluten). So I ordered from this place for the first time on GrubHub last night, after a long evening of hanging around with a friend who was helping me pack up my apartment for a move. I'd been seriously wounded in an epic battle with James Tiberius Kirk (the novelty drinking glass--he got the worst of it), and couldn't deal with cooking. DeNico's was one of the only places still open and delivering when we realized it was almost ten and we had yet to consider the very serious matter of dinner. We mostly felt like salad and appetizers, so we tried this place, which had respectable reviews on the 'Hub. It took more than an hour to get our food, which was lousy, but it was late, and I could have shrugged it off. It was barely above luke warm, which was .. lousy. Given cost of it, the portion sizes of the appetizers were paltry, except for maybe the potato skins... but they were filled with really disgusting cheese of the sort one suspects came out of a spray can. Why would someone do that to perfectly innocent potato skins and bacon, I ask you? It's inhuman. We got some cheesy garlic bread, too, which was basically sandwich rolls someone had dumped garlic and mozerella on. The whole thing came off as seriously half-assed. To compound this, we didn't get our salads. GrubHub's awesome customer service came to the rescue, but it took twenty minutes after that for the salads to show up, and when they did, each was iceberg lettuce with one exceptionally thin slice of tomato on top. Dude, if you're going to do this, don't have salad on the menu. It is also worth mentioning that they have only one salad dressing and do not even ask about your choice of dipping sauces for, say, your chicken fingers. Maybe their pizza is okay, but we ordered from this place as opposed to any of the others we could have because they had what appeared to be a long and well-stocked list of other menu items.
