I went to pick up some gyro and alfredo fettuccine. The alfredo fettuccine was very plain (chicken costs extra; what is alfredo fettuccine without chicken?!), but it was delicious. The gyro severely lacked the yummy sauce and was small for its price, but it was delicious. I appreciate that they are able to be open during the COVID-19 pandemic. They set up the place well to adjust for safety. However, from my first visit, the young, red-head cashier lady messed up my order. She claimed that I did not mention the "alfredo fettuccine" even though I made sure to say that order first and she repeated after me. I let it go since she probably did not hear me through the mask, but her attitude and tone really soured the experience. At our second visit, my parents went to pick up an order. My parents quickly passed another customer in line who was ordering since my parent's food was ready. The same red-head young cashier lady snapped at my mom and said "JUST TO LET YOU KNOW, WE HAVE A SIX FEET POLICY! YOU CANNOT JUST PASS BY OTHER CUSTOMERS." As my mom tried to apologize, the cashier claimed "DIDN'T YOU KNOW WE STILL NEED TO STAY 6 FEET DISTANCE." I usually don't like American food because it's a bit heavy and greasy but Dinos grill is my favorite American restaurant ever. I tell all of my friends about this restaurant in hoping that they'll come here too for the amazing food and friendly service ! I've been coming here for years and it has never disappointed me. My favorite things to get here are the mushroom burgers, chicken Parmesan, pesto pasta, and the zucchini sticks. I also do enjoy that the restaurant is vintage and retro theme which I love because I'm getting a bit tired of the modern restaurant aesthetics. read more

I only ever order the California Chicken Sandwich and Italian Burger here which never disappoints. Dino's does chicken sandwiches better than other dedicated sandwich shops (looking at you, Ike's and Mr. Pickles) because they actually spend the time properly toasting their dutch crunch bread and the rest of the ingredients come out hot. Of the two, the Italian Burger might not always come out the most flavorful compared to the chicken sandwich, but a little extra parmesan and whatever condiments you prefer on your burger can easily fix things. Either way, its hard to go wrong with getting a decent burger and pasta in one dish. read more

Definitely the place to go when you need that diner feeling. We were in the mood for greasy American food when we came across Dino's Grill. A large menu with quantity & quality, and the good sign of a constant flow of customers, topped with fantastic service. I was initially distracted by the large bowls of pasta I observed being served, then I remembered my mission was greasy food to oil the machine. At the recommendation of the cashier, I ordered the San Franciscan Burger w/ Fries, Onion Rings, and I wanted the Garlic Cheese Bread. The San Franciscan was a patty melt. Gooey cheese on a patty, topped with onions, between toasted bread. It was delicious and exactly what I was looking for. The onion rings were crispy on the outside and the onion was perfect and fell apart easily. The garlic bread was delicious too but I should have ordered it with pasta. The service was extremely friendly and it was evident that the employees cared about their business. Our food was served very quickly even though it was lunchtime. What was super exciting was when we requested ranch, they brought us a very large cup. Not one of those weeny ones (it's the small things in life). When we're craving some hearty pastas, Dino's grill always delivers... even when I'm the one picking up my order. Haha That said, sometimes the seasoning is a bit conservative and I have to add some salt, extra Parmesan or some chili flakes to kick it up a bit... could just be my preference but it happens often enough to mention. It wouldn't be Newark without Dino's. Nothing fancy but delicious homestyle food. Whenever I had a bad day I'd drown my sorrows in a burger and fries with the BEST ranch ever. Their pastas and salad are also excellent. This is a family owned and operated restaurant. If you go often enough you'll get to know the cooks and the owners. I'll never forget I came in on a one particularly bad night back in 2012. One of the owners was at the register and he could tell I was going through something. He asked me how I was doing and when he found out my mom had just been diagnosed with cancer he comped my meal. Help keep Dino's open. They're worth your business. read more

Great service! Been going here a couple years now. Portions are always a lot and very flavorful! Place is always clean and is centered in a well known plaza in Newark but then Newark is very small anyway! ;) right off Ardenwood exit by 84. My favorite dishes here are the clam linguine with garlic bread on the side or their crab sandwich with Ceasar salad. These are a must try. They don't cheap us with no sauce and all leaves are covered with sauce. They use sourdough bread which is always cooked just right with butter :-) and never burnt. I also do like their gyro sandwich as it has plenty of meat. Never charged me for extra sauce, too! Usually come here for lunch during work but you have to go here early as it can fill up quick. Always leave full. Prices are decent, too. It's family owned and always friendly service! Will be back of course.... read more

First timer and I have to say the staff was very nice and the food was very good. The portions were big. There is ample seating and quite casual. It reminded me when entering a fast food restaurant. There is a large parking lot due to the shopping center in the vicinity. We ordered the seafood linguine which contain shrimp and baby clams on a bed of linguini pasta in creamy alfredo sauce, chicken primavera which contained chicken with mixed vegetables on a bed of penne pasta tossed in a light garlic cream marinara sauce and a chicken ceasar salad. All the items came with freshly made garlic bread! We all enjoyed every bite! I will definitely go back to try other dishes including their sandwiches and burgers. I would recommend this restaurant if you want some good italian food with a casual ambiance. They also make gyros and greek inspired dishes! read more

Dino's Grill has done a great job with social distancing and safe practices during these COVID times (the other reviews on here about that are true!) I was looking for a quick bite in the area and decided to try this out based on reviews. I've tried the gyro and California chicken sandwich, and I really like that they allow you to substitute the fries out with a pasta instead (a much healthier option)! I also like that with my sandwich, they separate out the lettuce and onions from the sandwich to avoid soggy bread and so that I could put them in myself. They packaged the pasta in aluminum foil neatly from the sandwich which is great too! The California chicken sandwich is a bit salty, but the gyro was good. Please note that the prices shown on the menu pictures here are not accurate. The prices are a bit higher, but the portions are quite reasonable. I definitely would return to try the other foods and to support small business! read more

This is probably my favorite go to for some yummy home cooked tasting food! My kids are obsessed with their spaghetti and normally it has meat. gyro and pastas are SO delicious, fries were bomb, garlic bread was surprsingly good too (although it appears boring). haven't tried burger yet but will one day... customer service was great and so kind! caesar is also good and we always get on :) the meat spaghetti was a little bland but otherwise nothing some salt can't fix. just delicious comfort food with a super kind team. one of the cooks even brought over a little pack of cookies for my toddler, very sweet and not necessary at all! one of our REGULAR places now!! where else can you get burgers and gyro and pastas in one place?! Chicken Parmesan is amazing, we tried their soups of they day "clam chowder" and glad we did, it was on point with flavor and texture, served with side bread. The food at Dino's Grill is really good, but I unfortunately found hair in my order (for the first time as a repeat customer). My usual go-to is their mushroom burger, which is always an exceptionally prepared smash burger. I tried the gyro for the first time today and I unfortunately found hair in the gyro meat. I also found a hair in my fries. (No pics because I had the knee-jerk reaction to toss my food as soon as possible.) The gyro was so good up until I found the hair. I think this was just a bad day for the diner. The service is always really friendly at the cashier and it has a great family atmosphere. Food is also generally tasty, but I think I will need some time to recover from finding hair twice in my food read more

This is a fantastic place! They are active in the community and contribute to the local schools. The portions are very generous. On my most recent visit I had the chicken pesto fettuccine and it was very delicious. I love it because the chicken pieces were plentiful, the pesto was abundant and the noodles were well cooked. The only thing not as good was the garlic bread that came with the meal. But I don't go there for the garlic bread! Food was large enough for two days and like all pastas, taste even better the next day. I have had their sourdough burgers before and they are delicious. There is a fantastic char on their burgers that make me wonder where the bbq grill can be because it tastes like it was grilled outside. I got there 30 minutes before they closed and ordered to go a California chicken sandwich And a California burger. Side spinach salad. While we were waiting for our food a gentleman walked in and the server behind the counter greeted the man by his name always a good sign so that made me happy I got home with my food within minutes because the food prep was fast and my California chicken sandwich was fantastic the roll It was crunchy and divine the chicken cooked perfect everything about it was fantastic the spinach salad was big and had everything you could want in it. Also, very generous portions. California burger was the same way... this place is a gem. Well I was planning on snapping a picture of my food but I inhaled my sandwich and fries. This was the first time ordering from Dino's Grill. I was very pleasantly surprised how good it was. I ordered the California chicken sandwich and fries. So good and tasted real fresh. The marinated chicken was so juicy and delicious. I'm a self professed French fry freak and these fries held their own. Since it was a delivery I wasn't expecting them to still be warm and crispy but they sure were. Huge points in my book. My husband had the Greek chicken sandwich and I'm not sure if he actually tasted it. It was gone before I was done pouring our drinks. I did eat a portion of his Greek salad. The veggies were crisp and satisfying. The Greek dressing was so tangy and creamy. I wish I had a bottle of the stuff so good. We will definitely order again. read more

After calling in our order, I arrived, walked in (I was the only customer there at that time) and was given my order. Payment by credit card was contactless. We three ladies went to Dino's for lunch. The food was good. Two of us got Specials, a Caesar Wrap with soup (Minestrone), and Tuna Salad Sandwich. The third lady ordered a Greek Sandwich. Everyone was happy with the food. It was good, nothing exciting. Crispy lettuce, lots of chicken in my wrap, fairly generous portions. But the real problem was the noise. We were unable to have a conversation. The restaurant is all hard surfaces, glass, hard tables, nothing to absorb sound, so one voice is loud and the next one gets louder, and so on. We will not go back. My wrap with a cup of soup was served on a platter and in bringing the food to the table the waitress spilled a lot of my soup, ruining the tortilla wrap. The owner offered to replace the meal and I said I preferred to eat with my friends, so I didn't eat the wrap part. The waitress apologized. read more

I felt very deceived by the four star rating this place has... we ordered a lasagna and it was obvious that they just threw it in the microwave because the center was still cold.
