Love Dinos grill, never disappoints. They're always serving fresh, hot, delicious food

Since my first review of Dino's, I've been in a few more times, and highly recommend their French Burger. It's juicy, premium quality ground beef on a toasted french roll topped with mayo, grilled onions and cheese (although I prefer mine without cheese) with some pickles and lettuce on the side. Fries are included, and they are good; fresh and crisp - the potato taste really comes out. Service is always quick, polite and attentive; someone will come by at least once to check up on you. It doesn't take long to feel the cozy atmosphere. I will be back again soon. read more

Nothing says diner like black and white tiled floors, red chairs and a big bowl of spaghetti! Dino's has been around for as long as I can remember and its a dependable spot for some good ol' american fare like pasta and burgers. This family run restaurant really keeps to the small town feel that is such a big part of Newark's charm. Just ok for me. I got their gyro and it did not taste authentic to me. also we ordered the hubs a italian burger on their garlic bread. the burger was good, very satisfying, but like other reviewers have mentioned the pasta leaves much to be desired. Though the portions are good the pasta is super overcooked to the point of mushy and it is not a good texture for dining. I will be back to try other things as the food was ok and the service was friendly. read more

I loved the openness in the restaurant. I could see everything and everyone. I did not feel like there was anything to hide. Staff was very friendly and conversational. Food was FILLING. Good soup and hamburger and garlic fries. We were full from the soup, but then our hamburgers came! We were sad, because were full, but we were happy, because we wanted more! I got an upset stomach afterward...but no one else complained, so it might have been from eating A LOT. Mushroom burger SO GOOD. I would not hesitate to come back! I just saw that it was Greek/Mediterranean and I had to make sure that this was the same place. I did not get that impression at all. My dad said that this was how it was like back in the day. I was hungry and thinking about getting something to eat and decided to go to Dino's Grill as soon as I walked in the door I was greeted professionally but then I asked to use the restroom the lady at the front counter said no that's for customers only I was going to buy something to eat. But it was as if I had to buy something first and then use the restroom. I had to go number two like really who says no you can't use the restroom and I'm disabled. Just had a foot operation. I don't know what this world is coming to but there's no compassion no empathy. So I will never eat at this place and no I don't recommend it. I'm quite surprised at this place. It's a simple place to get your fill of burger and fries. Besides burgers they also offer a nice selection of sandwiches and they even have Gyros. My and buddy have gotten the gyros. It's actually my first time having gyros. The gyro was actually my first one ever, it wasn't bad, but might need some kind of dressing on besides the sour cream. It with the basic lettuce and tomatos on a flat bread. The gyro also came in a generous side of french fries, fries where nice and crunchy nothing special but very good. I've been going here since middle school!! And it still hasn't changed!! Italian burger w spaghetti is my go to menu item and it's still the best spaghetti sauce I've had to this day.. And you can't go wrong w the garlic bread burger!! Dip it in the spaghetti ahah!! The owner is the coolest guy and noticed I've been coming since I was a kid and gave me a shirt one time I was eating. This is a classic Newark spot. I use to come here a lot in middle school and high school. Its a town favorite amongst adults and kids. When you walk in, you see tons of drawings from various kids over the years. I recently came back and nothing has changed. This family owned diner still offers a variety of different items (pasta, burgers, gyros, salads) with the same amount of excellent customer service. Newark has some of the best restaurants and Dino's Grill is an example of good food and friendly service which is why I chose this place. I was really impressed how they greet their customers with a smile and a great staff which makes a big difference. Looking at the menu on the wall I decided to order the French burger on a roll comes with fries and caesar's salad with grill chicken for drinks plain water. My wait was less than 15 minutes and there were hardly customers, but when I left there were 15 customers so it was getting pack. The server brought my food over very polite wasn't too sure if it's a family run business or not, but his son or nephew was helping out with the orders. The French burger on a roll comes with fries and the chicken salad with added parmesan cheese was delicious quite a fhuge portion that's more than enough for my lunch. As I left it got crowded and parking was a real madhouse with so many business in this tightly knit mall right off Jarvis and Newark Blvd. Definitely be back when in Newark stop by at Dino's you won't be disappointed. read more

After two rather tiring workouts and a sprint test the day before, I wanted protein. Or more specifically, I really wanted a burger. I was heading over to my best friend's house and when I got to her door, we simultaneously greeted each other with, "Hey, are you hungry? Can we go get burgers?" (This is why we're friends.) She saw good reviews for this place, so we decided to come here. :D I got a mushroom burger without the cheese for ~$7.50 and she got the Italian burger, which is kinda like a burger but with garlic bread for the bread, and it comes along with pasta (mine came along with fries). I really enjoyed the Mushroom Cheeseburger (two kinds of perfectly melted cheese) on a perfectly toasted bun, with Garlic French Fries (best fries I've had anywhere...yeah, I know what you're thinking!) Dino's grill is not the most amazing place to eat, and it's not somewhere I go because I'm really craving to eat something there. Dino's grill is somewhere where I have never been unhappy with my food. It's somewhere that I never mind going there to eat because anything I've tried there has been great and they have a good variety of food. Lately I've been having the tuna melt or crab sandwich, both so yummy! Sometimes I pick up a kids spaghetti to go and it is huge! I love going here, when I can't figure out what I want to eat or what I'm craving for, I can never go wrong with eating here! P.s. Pretty surprised, after reading all of the positive reviews. A friend and I had lunch here on a Saturday afternoon and we were both disappointed with how bland everything is. I had the crab sandwich that had a lot of recommendations, but there was no real flavor, which made me wonder if it was made from imitation crab. The Caesar salad was decent, but not spectacular. The onion rings are hot and crisp, but not much onion inside the batter, so again they were a bit bland. My friend had been looking forward to the chicken pesto pasta, but she didn't eat much because she said it was too bland and not worth it. We started to wonder if our tastebuds were off today, but the pickles served with the crab were properly tangy, my root beer tasted perfect, so I don't think it was our tastebuds. Love this place!!! Went shopping for my groceries Nextdoor to Safeway when I noticed Grill. It was around lunchtime and headed over there to see what they have. Fresh salads, pastas, sandwiches and burgers and more! I tried the Greek salad and the California chicken sandwich.. it was amazing!! Heard many rave reviews about this neighborhood burger joint but was never paid a visit even I am living just one mile away from it. My wife and I finally came here for a quick dinner and we were not disappointed. Food is reasonably priced and portion is large but more importantly, it is delicious. On top of that, the people working there carry a smile and are patient and polite. My wife and I had the crab sandwich with Cesar salad, French burger with fries and a bowl of clam chowder. We definitely received (and exceeded) the quality and quantity we expected from this place, especially the French burger. That's how a burger should be made! This place is right by church and I really like what they have to offer. Everything looks super good. But, I always end up getting the same thing which is the Italian Burger. If you look at the menu it will say the the side is spaghetti w/meat sauce. No really, forget the fries! Burger and Spaghetti...Dino's is a genius for putting these two on a plate together.! The burger isn't super special just the standard beef patties and cheese, but it is served on garlic bread and you can add stuff to it. Ok, so this is your typical local dive-y joint with average grub. The menu offers a hodgepodge of options: American fare (sandwiches/burgers), Mediterranean (gyros), and Italian (pasta) I ordered the chicken gyro with fries. While my lunch came out fast and hot, I found myself pretty underwhelmed by the entire experience. The "eh" meat combined with with the all-star pita left my stomach feeling just ok. I thought the fries were delicious - the perfect combo of soggy and crunchy. (Although a little too salty for my taste.) I know I have said this before but can't go wrong with Dinos food. Everything is freshly cooked and hot, served to you right away. The salads are so refreshing and I love the house dressing. I order a side of garlic bread just so I can dip it in the dressing. So when I am in town, I have to have Dino's Italian burger. Dino's has been a Newark staples for YEEEEEARS. Every time I've gone here the staff was courteous and with a smile on their faces. I have 5 kids. So, going out is rare for us. It's very difficult. But on this occasion, it was smooth sailing. Our waitress was the best, she took care of us to a T. We also ordered linguini with clams and shrimp but the pasta was fettuccine. No explanation given. NOTE -- Don't order the garlic bread... it's just flat, buttered, close to burnt sourdough rolls. Last Saturday I had my son's birthday party catered by Dino's grill. It was amazing! Lasagna, salad, and garlic bread. They even brought warming trays, so that late comers to the party got just as hot of a meal than the first ones to eat. Great price, no hassle, and had great feedback from our guests about the great meal. Took my parents to this place for lunch one day. From the outside, it reminded me of a old diner, in the 60-70s. Even the inside, it looked like 60s diner. Was pretty cool. I did like the ambiance. Alot of natural lighting, which I did like. Wanted to try something different, so I got a gyro. It tasted ok, satisfying, but like other reviewers have mentioned the pasta leaves much to be desired.
