I work across the street from Discount Tire and I got my lowered car stuck on the sidewalk ledge (don't ask) where the frame was sitting on the ledge. I was trying to figure out what to do (freaking out slightly at the point) and thinking I had to call for a tow truck but luckily I called Discount tire on a whim thinking maybe they could help me. I called and explained the situation. The person was very considerate and let me know they would send someone over to see if they could help. JASON drove over and he saw the car could be pulled away with a chain. He reassured me things would be fine and walked me through the steps. Long story short, my car has no issues and I am so grateful to how helpful Discount Tires was in sending someone over and just how amazing Jason was in helping me out from my incident. Yep, the free tire check/air pressure refill is awesome! Guy that looked over my car was extremely knowledgeable and gave the tires a complete once over. Checked air pressure, and refilled to proper levels; tested tire thread, informed me I had about 25,000 left on them, but should rotate in about 8,000. He also dropped the knowledge on me that it's better to drive in the snow with your tires under inflated by about 10psi because you get better traction that way. Who knew, cause I didn't. For someone who felt like she had bad tire karma and knows very little, Discount Tire is a savior. Since using them 4 years ago, I knew about their exceptional customer service and their Repair/Replace Warranty program (this saved me $$$$). If you can believe it, I had to replace 3 flat tires in the span of a month! I came in this morning to get 4 new tires. For one, I had an irreparable flat tire and two, I had been putting off replacing the old ones. Since I'm not much of a spirited driver, I was mainly looking for better traction and great treadwear. After doing some research I settled for a quad of Kuhmo Ecsta ASX for their great value for the price. All in all, Jason and John were friendly and super helpful in answering all my questions about the tires and financing options. I did have a good 1.5 hour wait, although I didn't mind it much for it gave me ample time to get some reading done. We have yet to know how the tires will last eventually, but with their extended warranty ($48 total for my set of tires), I know that if I ever have problems I'm definitely covered! The man who helped us, Danny, was friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure we got the best service. We are back again because the other tire/rim got damaged. These guys are super friendly and work on tires like an F1 pit crews. Super fast to buy tires (ordered and arrived next morning), set up an appointment (10:30), drove, ate sandwich next door while they installed new tires and all done before noon! So easy and painless when compared to the other well known tire shop. Not a scratch on my wheels! (The other shop made 4 scratch marks on each wheel, and mounted tires wrong). I don't get excited about tire shops but listen up! I've had steering wobble and vibration in the 60mph and up range since I bought my rig 2 years ago. The steering wheep was also always to the left by a good 10 degrees with a rightward pull. I have the lifetime alignment plan at firestone. They've done 4 alignments for me in this time as well as balancing. They've never fixed any of this. I've always gotten the printout showing before and after and one guy said my rear end has a thrust angle of -.1 degree which may be why or my frame could be twisted. Then I took it to les schwab for the same issue. They found that I was running 28 psi (factory spec) and since it was their tires on there they said 33 is best. That fixed a good deal of the right pull but not the wobbles. They also checked balance and it was fine. This summer I bought 4 new AT tires with discount tires summer sale. I waited until now to put them on since it wasn't needed. I explained to the guy in Auburn that I wanted a mounting and balancing. From my research my rig required lug centric balancing and not the more common hub centric. He assured me that "we have many cone adapters so that's not an issue" and I thought 'great another jagoff that's disregarding me'. I also asked for them to check my steering bushings because I was planning to replace those at home but wanted confirmation as it's hard for one person to check it themselves. I had about 2 inches of steering play (meaning when driving straight my hand could wiggle an inch in both directions without turning the car). This is often a steering rack issue. After all this I get in my rig after they're done and I start driving....ok...speed up....ok it's going straight!.....hit 65 on the freeway....O...M....G! Those guys fixed it...everything!!! 5 different visits to two other shops with various techs working on it and finally DT does the job. I don't know if it was the better dynamic balancing they do or maybe the crummy les schwab tires I had on there or what. I felt so relieved driving I literally felt warm and fuzzy inside like I wanted to shed tears of joy. It's like finally getting the Christmas present you always wanted. The whole drive home, about 20 minutes, I was waiting for it to act up. I thought it was too good to be true. I even installed new rotors and calipers bigger than my OEM size and I was getting vibration from 40mph and up braking, like BAD. Even that's barey noticable. It's truly another issue I'm gonna fix today, but the balancing issue was amplified with that. In a world of shit customer service and lackluster effort with people regarding their job, I can actually say I'm a huge fan of these guys. Made an appointment last week for 12:30pm today. Was guaranteed to have my new tires put on in less than an hour. Checked in at 12:30 and didn't get my car back until 3pm. No apology...nothing at all. They didn't even acknowledge that they forgot to put my keys in line for my allotted appointment time. After an hour, I asked and they realized that they didn't put my keys in front of the walk in appointments. Didn't offer a discount for the inconvenience. Had to cancel my doctor appointment at 3pm due to this extreme delay. Will never buy tires from them again. Customer service is non-existent. read more

I purchased 4 new tires online and made an appointment online. They called me to tell me the tires I ordered would need to be shipped from a TX location, I said that was fine since my appointment was a week away. I called the morning of my appointment to ensure they had the tires and they informed me they should be on the truck today (which was totally fine). A few minutes later they called back and said the tires I ordered had actually been discontinued, but that they'd give me the newer version (they had them in stock) for the same price. There was a little hiccup with dropping off my vehicle, but nothing worth mentioning. Jimmy went above and beyond to help me out with my appointment. Their prices were better than another tire shop I usually go to but to get road hazard repair service you have to buy that separately which I think was $20 per tire. Went to Discount Tires at this location and they tried telling me I needed a new tire which would cost me $380 total. There was a piece of metal that pierced the tire. It was sticking out and looked a lot worse then it was. Just by looking at it, the service advisor said it needed to be replaced. I went to Les Schwab for a second opinion. They said they'll take it off the rim and look at the internal damage. It wasn't bad. Took them 20 minutes to repair it. Paid $18 dollars instead of $380 for a brand new tire. read more

I have an 2015 F150 that had a slow leak. I have been a customer for many years and made a reservation to have the tire repaired. I know they "bath tub" the tire to find the leak. Turned out it was in an area that is unrepairable. What was so bad is they took the tire off the rim and since the tire had been repaired before they refused to remount the tire for safety reasons. Why would they even take it off the rim in the first place. I say they hired a bunch of Sears mechanics that salesmen get commission on tire sales. I made them put the tire in the bed of my truck and drove off very upset. Watch out for their underhanded tricks to sell you a set of tires. Thank goodness Pep Boys had a great salesman who had brand name tires in stock for 200 dollars less than Discount Tire. I am still steaming. read more

After a 2,200+ mile move to King County, a blowout in Wyoming, and a stolen spare in Federal Way, I was in desperate need of a new set of tires while working with a tight budget due to the aforementioned move. I called around several shops and Discount Tire was the most reasonably priced, with only one other shop quoting in the same ball park. I called ahead again the day I went in to double check their price and to get a quote for the now stolen rim. When I arrived in the store, I was informed that they had actually just sold a couple of the tires I was quoted on and no longer had a full set. This turned out not to be an issue since the salesperson offered to sell me a set that normally costs $18 more per tire at the price he quoted over the phone earlier that day. The salesperson was helpful and suggested a few extras, but was not in the least bit pushy about selling these. The shop finished their work in about 45 minutes, even though the store was busy, and I am very satisfied with the result. Again, their base price for this service was the best I found, even before taking into account a $100 mail-in rebate I received with the set of tires. Even if they did not offer free rotations, rapairs, etc. (which they certainly do) I would not hesitate to come back. read more

I had a tire that was repaired incorrectly by the CAR DEALERSHIP where I bought the car (but they charged me for it ugh).. They repaired the tire for free, showed me exactly where and how the tire was repaired incorrectly.. checked all my tires and had me out in no time. I also was given an ACCURATE "report" on the shape of all my tires. Needless to say I'm very impressed. I will be back! read more

They have great service and I have purchased many sets of tires from them. They have a dark side though where they try to strong arm you into new tires before their time. The problem is they side very heavy on the super safe side and try to strong arm you into new tires before the old ones are gone. I just had this happen, ... again. I know a lot about tires and when and when not they are safe. They placed themselves in a position of telling me that I could not place my summer tires back on. When they took them off, they had absolutely nothing to say. The bottom line is that they do have another summer in them. While I appreciate their advice, it is my decision and not theirs. When you're a mom and you have your child with you you need a place that will deal with you quickly and efficiently, especially when you're driving your child in your car and realize you have a slow leak in your tire. Absolutely horrible experience. I ordered tires for my Mazda Speed3 nearly two weeks ago and am yet to get a call or a voicemail regarding the tires arrival or my appointment times. I got a call from Pablo the day before my original appointment, 3 days after I ordered the tires online, and he tells me he hasn't even ordered the tires himself yet. To top it off he told me he would give me a call when the tires arrive so he can set up an appointment. He's yet to do this, and they won't pick up or return any of my calls...
