Right off of I-355 & Boughton, this Discount Tire provides fast service at reasonable prices
    Eric S.

THE LONG ROAD HOME This automotive retailer/tire repair shop in Bolingbrook is courteous and speedy beyond expectations. For a mechanical engineer, I'm ashamedly negligent when it comes to vehicle maintenance. It's not that I willfully ignore my car, I'm just not a pro-active dude who's constantly working under the hood. Anyway, the tires on my Mazda 6 were basically bald and with all the miles I've been putting on it recently, I needed the full set replaced. Discount Tire has locations sprinkled around the country, this one sitting off of Boughton Road near I-355 (it's hidden a bit from the main stretch behind the Bdubs and Panda Express). I scheduled an appointment online, which was easy squeezy. Curbside check-in was nice and the place was doing brisk business when I came in on 8/27/20. Brad assisted me at the register; when I told him I had a spending cap of $500, he was able to find suitable replacements plus a warranty for the tires. The inside was spotlessly clean and everyone was obeying hygienic protocols (which reminds me.......I'm using a new metric for Yelping during 'covid times': how many people were punched in the face over mask policies? The counter sits at '0', but we're visiting Wal-Mart soon so that might change). DT's founder, Bruce Halle, believed that "happy employees make happy customers", a motto that appeared to be thriving here. From what I noticed, the on-duty managers had a great rapport with the mechanics, always communicating yet still keeping things loose. Extra kudos for having the world's longest running TV spot (you know the one, folks) -- it aired back in 1975 and you can occasionally see it being played to this very day. Based on lengthy experiences at other tire places, I thought for sure I'd need the wifey to come pick me up, but thanks to a fully staffed crackerjack crew, I was out of here in under 30 minutes. Although Brad was the one who helped me from start to finish, a different employee's name somehow wound up on the receipt (perhaps the last person who logged in). The salesperson's name? Eric S. * TL;DR * Organized, efficient, and relatively affordable. If you have a legitimate beef with one of their products, just do what the old lady does in the commercial and chuck a tire through the front window (disclaimer: please don't actually do that. They're very nice people and a phonecall or email will suffice. Don't resort to vandalism!) My new treads are great, I'd be happy to conduct business with them again in the future and will definitely recommend this Discount Tire to anyone who feels their ride isn't gripping the asphalt properly. The fact that someone who works here is *also* named Eric S added to my positive experience in a fun, purely coincidental way. Good car-ma, indeed.

I'm extremely disappointed with Firestone's handling of my warranty situation. I purchased tires…read morefrom Firestone under the 90-day buy-and-try satisfaction guarantee, which clearly states that I should be able to return or exchange the tires if I'm not satisfied. Here's the problem: I tried to return them three separate times within the 90-day window, but every time I went in, they didn't have the tire in stock. I was told to come back later, and each time, they still didn't have it. Now I'm just six days past the 90-day period, and they're telling me the warranty no longer applies--despite the fact that it was Firestone's own inventory and scheduling issues that caused the delay in the first place. This is not just frustrating--it feels dishonest. I played by the rules. I made multiple good-faith attempts to resolve this within the warranty period. Now Firestone is hiding behind a technicality that they created. If this is how they stand by their "satisfaction guarantee," then it's clear that the warranty is more of a marketing tactic than a real promise. This is the kind of experience that makes customers lose trust. I'm asking Firestone to do the right thing and honor the warranty. If they don't, I'll make sure others know to think twice before relying on their guarantees.

The alignment came out perfect, he even fixed my slightly off center steering wheel. Another shop told me I would also need to calibrate the steering angle sensor and pay extra for it, but here they did not mention it and it was not needed. Everything turned out great. The price was very reasonable. Unlike other shops like Midas that told me to fix part of the problem myself, which is completely ridiculous, he handled everything so my car drives straight now. They did it very quickly too I called ahead and had everything done while I waited in just about an hour to an hour and a half. I will definitely come back again. Huge thanks to Joshua for showing where is the leak at!

Beelle Tire of Sycamore IL on 5/18/26 quoted me four different out the door (complete) prices for…read moremy Honda. The first was $530, but when set up the appointment they said sorry it's actually $660. I said sorry that second quote is not reasonable. They then said "we can do it for $590." I ended the call. Since they were open late and close by and I had run out of time to get to Discount Tire I called back and they quoted $537. I said okay and went in. While I was there for installation they attempted to upsell me by suggesting I install a new $80 sensor. I said no. After they installed three tires they came in to tell me there was a good chance one of the studs on the fourth tire was going to break. They said I had to give them the go ahead to proceed and accept responsibility to fix it if it broke -$57. I asked "what's my alternative?" They said "leave the old worn tire on." I needed to have the tires for a family hospital visit -- so I reluctantly agreed while expressing my displeasure. Predictably they broke it. Since it was almost closing time i completed the payment. Yet another glitch (they had not included the tax in the "out the door price. This was becoming a cluster you know what. The out the door price, including the cost of the broken stud was now about $100 more than their last quote. It took about 10 minutes and multiple tries to process my payment. And when we were done they casually mentioned that the stud would not be in till the following day. They told me it was ok to drive on it with one out of four bolts missing. I later discovered that was NOT at all a safe thing to do. They did not call about the part so that I could return to have it installed. After several calls and being put on hold with aggressive advertising pitches, the installation guy (Pepe) told me they had no openings until 4:30 in the afternoon. He said he'd have to "squeeze me in and expect a 90 minute wait." I told him that was longer than the tire installation! He replied they were very busy. When I arrived I told them that 90 minutes was unacceptable and that I'd already paid them and had to make multiple calls instead of them calling me. They became very disrespectful at that point. St that point I called Belle's national customer service line and complained. They were closed for the day. I recorded a message but never got a call back. The stud was installed in 15 minutes. The charge for parts was $11 and the "labor" for the part they broke was $46 (billed the day before). In summary a) their quotes are wildly disingenuous, b) I question their competence and/or integrity about the broken stud, c) they put me at risk by lying about the safety of the missing stud and bolt, d) they were very disrespectful, and e) Belle Tire Corporate does hot care about Sycamore Belle's shoddy practices as they did not address my complaint. This was among the worst repair SNAFUs I have encountered in over 50 years of driving! Steer clear of this place; it's like a pirate ship.
