Had a 9 am appointment Saturday and got in 15 minutes early. Was helped right away by Roux an assistant manger. Got my summer only performance Dunlop tires swapped for some all season performance Yokohama Yk580. The whole staff here was very professional. Checked my torque specs with my snap-on digital T-wrench and it was spot on. They even got the stock 34 psi front 32 rear correct. The techs did good work and bagged my tires so I could throw them in the car. Coffee machine was good, and if you can't sit still Fred Meyers is in the same parking lot. read more

Everybody I asked said to get my tires at Discount Tire. I'm glad I did! I gave them my budget and they told me when my car would be finished. It was a 2 hour wait due to it being the Saturday before Christmas. I went shopping next door and returned with my shopping cart. The work was done on time. I went into the Burien store to have a two tires replaced at 1:20 today. It was definitely busy. I was told the car would be ready at 3:20...tires in stock no problem! I went back to the store at 3:15 pm after two Uber rides only to find the car was not even on a ramp. I waited till 6 pm to pick the car up. If they call this good service they are part of the fake news group. Willing to take your money and dishonestly tell a fake delivery time and forcing you to wait in line...terrible management skills. read more

I'd give this a 5, except when I DO need tires, they're pricy. Although maybe that's not their fault, since they don't make them. The first time I went here I was certain I needed new tires, but they repaired what I had and the repair lasted forever. The thing that makes them great is the replacement tire deal. I probably have gotten as many free replacements as I've bought new tires here over the years since I've moved here. They're helpful, they know their stuff, and they're fast, even when they say they won't be. read more

I posted on my FB page searching for recommendations for cheap tires. Majority rule said discount tires. I decided to give them a shot. I arrived and didn't have to wait at all. I had an appointment but most places you still have to wait. He asked for my keys to check for mileage and current tire measurement. In the meantime I'm in the lobby with my 4 year old daughter and 2 year old son when my son starts puking out of nowhere. Of course I'm mortified. The staff attended to me right away. Even this angel of a woman customer didn't hesitate to retrieve paper towels. None of them made me feel horrible but was super empathetic. Even when I started to clean up the puke myself they told me to stop and they would do it. It's rare to find any retailer this compassionate... I'm blown away. And for a discount place! I've been going here for years because they're conveniently located for me and generally have the best prices on the tires I want though they will always need to order them in. So why only two stars? Several reasons. They are careless about handling my winter tires which I load up to have them swap them out twice a year (free of charge if you buy rims). They have pretty much ruined my rear bumper cap by bouncing the studs on it. Manager did not offer to do anything except put a note on my account so maybe next time someone will pay attention. I've lost several pieces of plastic interior trim in back for the same careless handling issues when swapping out tires. I even wrap them in heavy tarp and protect the bumper but to no avail. Maybe if I had a Lexus they would treat it better? Second reason is at least one long-time employee doesn't get the cardinal rule of customer service which is not to assume your customers are idiots that don't know when you're lying or bs'ing them. They assured me they could get a certain kind of tire chain for me within a short time frame. When I picked them up they were not the chains I ordered, they were cable ones the original salesguy advised would not be adequate for a heavy vehicle like my van. When I pointed this out to the guy at the counter, Patrick, I think, he berated me saying he went out of his way, spent all that morning getting these in because I needed them so quickly. Apparently he didn't know I got a call the day before telling me the chains were there for pickup before choosing to lie and get all fake righteously defensive. If they couldn't get the proper chains in time for my trip they could've told me. They're not the only store in town that sells chains. Instead he blew up my plans and I had to find another vehicle in short order to safely navigate the high roads in a winter storm. I avoid this guy when I see him at the counter now. Third, as others have noted, there doesn't appear to be any benefit in setting an appointment, which I think is a relatively new practice that they never told me was available. I overheard another customer who got one so I asked. You leave and return in 45 minutes as told just to find that everyone else was taken in turn before you regardless of your scheduled "appointment". Last but not least the wealthy owner of this business apparently likes to use it to promote his political beliefs. This may not be apparent in this state but is well-known in AZ. I like to use my wallet as a political statement and will be finding another place next time I need tires. read more

I saw a customer arguing about his bill as I walked in and got into my skeptical consumer mode, certain I was about to be upsold..on SOMETHING. Sure enough, although I had ordered 2 tires online that I wanted installed with an "out the door" price of $152, the rep told me he was going to charge me $212 for some sort of recommendation about a third tire spare replacement. Then he said he would just replace all four tires, because my tires were over 10 years old, but would give me 2 extra tires at no cost. I could not figure out what scam if any he was pulling and even ended up agreeing to pay $6.50 per tire to have the "guaranteed replacement" thing. So actual cost was $182 for 4 new tires instead of 2 and they had it done in half an hour. Then he told me to come back every 6 months to have them rotated. I don't know anything about the car tire business but it seems like I got a good deal. read more

Don't get me wrong, this place has the lowest prices around, but the building is full of diabolical snakes and vultures. Over the years I've purchased tires through Discount Tire, serval times for several different vehicles. Each time the people in their employ have tried to increase their commissions in sneaky and underhanded ways. Ways like, bundling unnecessary additional cost warranties without my permission and unnecessarily trying to send to me to a shop that pays them for referring people because "my alignment was off". Most recently they tried to hustle me into buying new rims that I didn't need or want because according to them, the rims I have "aren't designed for my vehicle". When I brought my vehicle in, it made no noise at all, however, after they finished putting on the new tires I purchased it was making a horribly loud rubbing/grinding sound. A noise that was supposedly caused by "my rims that aren't designed for my vehicle". Luckily, I'm not that gullible and refused to purchase rims from them. (By the way, they had three sales associates gang up on me in effort to pressure me into to buying their unneeded/unwanted rims.) Even luckier, I just happened to have a good buddy that works at a shop right down the street. I had him look at the issue and it turned out that some bolts were missing. Not only from my rims, but also near my wheel well on the front passenger side. Also, part of my vehicle was bent to make the noise. Wow, I just had the most amazing customer service experience at this store. I called the store this morning, asking for a quote on tires for our Ford Explorer. I spoke to Matt, who gave me a quote over the phone. The quote was $100 less than the other six tire stores I shopped. Additionally, the tires they quoted me came with a 65,000-mile guaranty, opposed to the standard 40,000 from the other tire stores. I arrived at the store at 9:15 am. They walked me through the quote, which also includes free tire rotation every 6 months and free tire repairs. I paid for the service and gave him the keys. 30 minutes later my name was called and they said they were installing the last tire and my car would be ready in less than a minute. The manager came by, shook my hand, and thanked me for my business. By the time I was at the front door, my car was pulled up in front of the front door. The mechanic handed me the receipt, contract for free tire rotation and flat repair, and informed me that they would email me every six months to remind me to bring the car in for free tire rotations. I was in and out in exactly 30 minutes. This was one of the most amazing customer service experiences I have ever encountered. They did everything they said they would do, exceeded my expectations, were polite and friendly, and valued my time. These guys are incredible. read more

I am a repeat customer. I came in for an appointment today to get tires replaced. They did alright by fixing a nail puncture in one of the good tires. But when I got the car back I saw my wheel center caps were missing . I went to the lift and found it stting on the lift. It had broken tangs, and was one of the newer wheels I had replaced. I looked at the others and they were all similarly damaged. One of them had wrapped tape around it to make it sit inside the hole, on the driver side. They never said a thing. I do most of my own work and was aware that these items were not in such a bad state before today. These shouldn't be such a big deal but it cost me $22.00 to replace with new. I don't appreciate not being apprised of damage done to my car. I question my return to this store, there are other places I can go to. I am very dissapointed with the people here. UPDATE. I brought this to their attention and they kindly offered to replace the three broken caps with new ones. That I appreciate. Upped from two to three stars only, Because I am bummed they weren't going to tell me about the damage. read more

You'll have better luck with a two year old changing your next set of wheels and tires. I would have rated this a ZERO if the rating system would let me. I bought winter tires to go on a stock pair of wheels. I let the employee know over the phone i needed lugs. He said we got what you need. I get in there for my appointment and, "we don't have those lugs, need to order. You have to come back later". Strike one. I return once the lugs are in, they change out the wheels/tires. I drive away and my "service TPMS" light comes on the dash. I call and for a response get, "oh, we just forgot to reset it". Strike two. So I return to Discount only to have them realize that they never transferred the TPMS from one set of wheels/tires to the next! Strike three. I had to go home, load up my other set of wheels/tires, and drive back to Discount, to have them finally get it right on the fourth trip. I've spent thousands of dollars at this damn place over the last couple of years between work/personal vehicles. Never again. They didn't offer any kind of a Discount (no pun intended) or even an apology for that matter. I will never do business at Discount Tire ever again. There are plenty of other tire stores that will match any price you can find, and get you in and out, just like this place used to. I'm telling you, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Three weeks after a new set of tires was installed, a low pressure sensor was triggered. I inflated the indicated tire which was down 15 psi. Two weeks later, a repeat performance. An 8:00 appointment at Discount Tire was quick, told that nail was on edge of tread (shoulder) and they were replacing it. What?! A new tire! I don't drive anywhere near construction sites so this was everyday road debris. Amazing! read more

Discount Tire Closes at 6:00 PM. The tow truck did not get to me until 6:15. This is my second set of tires I purchased at discount tires. I felt I was taken well care of and not tricked into something I don't want. For the same price I would have paid for to get the same tires from my Lexus dealership I got more honesty and value. After paying a little over 1k for a set of 4 tires I was very please will my choice. Now let's see if it really last 75k. Hopefully it doesn't suck in the snow. Ask for Jason B. Truly disappointing experience at Discount last week after many years as a customer for both my vehicles. I had a flat on a tire rated for 45,000mi, and i only had 9,000 miles on it. And I drive an AWD, so naturally had to get all the same tires, etc., etc. They were all too cheerful to sell me all new ones. Thought I was going to get air in my tire and ended up out $830+ I was not a happy camper. And the manager's comment "so you're upset at us because you drive an AWD?" didn't help. No, I'm upset because I got a flat on the tire YOU folks sold me that was rated for 45,000 miles, 9,000 into it's life. And had to buy four new tires. Manager even made a comment about how little i must drive the car. As I'm looking at the bill, the piece of paper it goes in has their famous picture/saying: "Remember...if ever you're not satisfied with one of our tires, please feel free to bring it back." Well, I did, and I still had to buy four new tires.... :( read more

I can't say enough good things about these guys! I've been going to them for quite a few years now after being ripped off by the other guys. I've got quite a few vehicles and a few years ago when four wheel driving put a big branch to the side of my tire they replaced it no questions asked. My most recent experience I wanted custom wheels on my old 280 zx there were very helpful and very knowledgeable. They were able to fit 17ns with 10 inch wide in the back and nice tires all for around $1,000. it took a lot of work getting everything to fit as always they went above and beyond and I couldn't be happier! read more

I had a nail in my tire and took it in to discount tire in Burien. The gentlemen that first assisted was very polite said they can repair my tire at no cost. I was surprised and ecstatic, I went in expecting to buy a brand new tire. I waited about 45 min and they told me they could not repair my tire because it was defective. Another worker gave me my keys didn't bother to explain what was wrong with my tire. So I decided to wait in line to ask what was the issue with the tire. If there was in fact a problem with my tire I had no problem buying a new one. This guy explained the issue and made the assumption that if one tire was defective the rest were as well, "if one is like that the rest PROBABLY are too" he said. He quoted me $600+ for 4 new tires. Hmmm that didn't make any sense to me. So I said ok Ill be back. Took my car down the street to LES SCHWAB they checked ALL my tires, repaired the tire with the nail in it , and said they have no idea why they said my tires were defective. I would rather spend $1,000 on tires from les schwab who were honest than $600.00 on a dishonest store. That's just me. read more

In August I got my third set of tires from Discount Tire Co. on a used car I purchased in the Spring. Again, the best customer service one could ask for. I made an appointment easily over the phone and they took my car right in when I arrived. I opted for tires on the more expensive side this time, as I have had such good recommendations from them in the past. With the deluge rain storms we are getting here I wanted to be prepared for fall/winter standing water. My father recently went here and he was quoted for 4 tires at 150 bucks. After they installed all the tires my dad(69 yrs old), let my mother pay who had no idea how much they were charging. The bill was 660 dollars. They charged my parents for every little thing. To rotate, balance, brake check, and a bullshit warranty. Lucky for us after a heated phone call to head quarters the price was reduced to $245 and we kept the same tires. Be wary of this place old timers, im not saying they try to rip people off, but be cautious. Oh and after they refunded the money my dad says it still cost too much lol. read more

I'd give a big minus if I could. I have a f-250 diesel, went to Dicount tires in Burien, they put 4 ply tires on a vehicle that requires 10 ply due to the weight of truck. I had a flat & used my spare, when they had finished I found my spare in the back of my cab just cramed in, I asked why the guy said my spare tire holder under the truck was not useable ( I used it the day before) , they refused to fix it, what a bunch of bull. Charged me fore 10 ply tires & put 4 ply on. I haven't been able to use the truck as I did before, as I fear blow out or big wreck might even get killed. read more

I wish I could give this place five stars. The technicians were great. They were quick and efficient, careful not to damage my rims, torqued the lug nuts to the manufacturer's specification, and finished the job with some tire shine. What ruined my experience was the pushy salesperson who insisted that I have my new tires siped. He argued that it's helpful on wet and icy roads and that all the guys that work there run siped tires on their own vehicles. Since it was an extra $10 per tire and I had never heard of siping before, I initially declined. Eventually, another salesperson reassured me that it was worth it, and they offered to sipe one tire for free. Being me, I got pressured into their sales talk and finally agreed. Later research failed to find any general consensus to the benefits of siping, and in retrospect my new ultra high performance all season tires probably didn't need it. All I know is that I most likely voided my warranty, altered the tires' intended performance characteristics, and that I might one day see chunks of rubber missing from the tires. read more
