Been a loyal DT customer for 20 years and they never disappoint. Met with DT HQ in 2016 and they said they had a goal of 30 minute service time for every service. Lofty expectations, right? Made an appointment for Friday, made to wait in my car for over 30 minutes in over 100 degree heat. Decided to refund and go somewhere else, miracle of all miracles, it is my turn. I like this Discount Tire Store, and I'll be using it in the future. However, my last visit was disappointing. I bought a set of new tires, and on check out noticed that the clerk had slipped in a $150 charge for their hazard protection. He hadn't mentioned it beforehand, and I certainly didn't request it. So I assume this is a charge they try to slip in regularly. If so, it's a poor business practice, and potentially fraudulent. Just glad I caught it. Second, they put on one of my tires inside out (some tires are like that), which I didn't notice until I got home. So I had to go back. They fixed it immediately, but they could have saved us all trouble if it had been done right in the first place. Hopefully all this is a one time goof on their part, but it also reminds me to "trust, but verify." read more

I always have the best experience at the Discount Tire at Northwest highway and Abrams. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. I was in and out with a new tire in under 15 minutes! Plus, being a young woman, I can quickly get lost with car parts and easily get tricked into paying for things I don't need, etc, but they were very helpful, straight forward, honest and kind. I appreciate the free tire checks and free patches SO much that I always use Discount Tire for my tire needs. They are always really friendly and lately really fast for me. The company on a whole is really good and this location happens to be the closest to me now. They match tire prices from competitors which is always nice. My mom got a piece of ceramic something or other in the sidewall of her tire and needed replacing. They put on a "loaner" tire while we waited for the tire to be shipped to the store. We then found out that the dealership would cover the tire on warranty for free. We called discount and they told us it was fine, to keep their loaner for as long as we needed (tire to be shipped to dealership). So we weren't even buying from them and they were just oh so nice about it. That experience sealed the deal for me and Discount Tire. Last night I popped in and got my tire looked at, nail removed and patched, air checked in under 30 minutes. Not usually one to leave a bad review, but my last experience here was noteworthy enough. I drove in on a spare about an hour before close on Saturday to have a tire patched. I was told it could not be patched (not sure why as the only damage was a small nail imbedded in the front, but nevertheless) and had to be replaced. Was in a hurry, so I asked them to put the new tire in the trunk and that I would put it on the car later. I open my trunk today to put the new tire on, only to find that they gave me a new tire *without my rim*. I guess I should have double checked (not sure what logic goes into not giving me back my rim), so that's partially on me. Mistakes happen, I get that. So I call, am told I can come pick it up no problem. I pull up, they tell to pull into a spot and they would be out shortly. 20 mins, 30 mins, over 45 mins go by and I do not hear a word, so I got out and asked to be soon be helped, as remember, I am only there at this point because they made a mistake. Another few mins go by and the manager comes out and informs me that they have had the new tire on my rim the whole time, and that I was just given the wrong tire. So if you already have the tire and rim ready to go, wtf have I been waiting for 45 mins for? And that's only because I said something. Then the icing on the cake: for them to attach the rim and tire to the car, it would be "at least another 30 mins". Are you serious? So we're now looking at almost a 90 minute wait for you guys to attach a rim and tire, after you already screwed up once? Mistakes happen, I totally understand that. But jeez, you need to get better at rectifying your mistakes. This is how you lose customers. read more

Never going back after over 25 years! Went in last Thursday afternoon for a tire rotation. Waited 40 minutes to be told it would take 2 hours before my car could be serviced. Left cane back Monday morning and was told the same thing!( they were really busy so I understand) made an appointment for today and was told I needed 2 new tires on the front of my brand new car because the tread was so worn! Give me a brake I've got 11200 miles on these tires!!! 3 employees gave me 3 different tread reports on two different days of the three! What happened to this place! They used to be the best and so honest. They need more employees perhaps and much better management. read more

Honest, good prices, and they try hard to make you happy. BUT - they're stupid. they still get 5 stars though because they're generally good people. Just stupid good people. Suppose you want an example? I needed my RIGHT REAR tire balanced. To make it easy for them I took the locking nut off the right rear tire, and left it on the other three. While waiting the guy asks me for the key to remove the lockng nut? Me "um, no, there is no locking nut on the RIGHT REAR tire." Guy, "yes, there is." So - I had to walk into the bay with the guy. Please note there are 2 other guys at my car, so 3 guys total now. Standing there, looking confused. I had to POINT TO MY RIGHT REAR TIRE. THAT ONE. THAT TIRE. THAT THING THAT I'M POINTING AT. BALANCE THAT ONE PLEASE!!! But they are nice and honest and have good prices. You might just want to check their work to make sure it's done right. read more

Looks like I had the same experience as Honest R. Cornell checked me in and was great. Too bad he didn't close out my ticket. I went here today and bought 2 tires. When I was checking out they said "your total is $627 dollars". I gave them the WTF look and they confessed that that price included road hazard. I hadn't requested that option. I quickly backed that crap out. They tried to pull a fast one by automatically including it w/o discussing it. Thankfully, I am smarter than the average chipmunk and caught the deceptive attempt. Also, they left a crap load of slime and grease on my rims that slung down the side of my car when I drove off. You'd think after you paying $566 they could clean that junk off. This location was great by holding a tire for me and then transferring another from Georgia. Unfortunately they fell flat on their face upon checking out and getting my car back. Everytime I come here, I leave a happy customer. And that is not my usual reaction to having work done on my vehicle. I've purchased several sets of tires here and I'm always pleased with the end result. I usually call ahead for an appointment, just because it speeds things up. You can even check (online or via phone) to make sure they have your requested tires in stock and have them reserved. I'm rarely there more than 45 minutes, though if you don't, you can still usually get in quickly. It's also helpful to have a place nearby that will patch up your tires quickly. The staff is super friendly and I've never had them pull any punches. You never can tell when you're a female at an auto shop... The prices are competitive and you're usually set to go before you have time to sit and enjoy the complimentary bottled water. read more

Its always been a experience but then all it takes is one horrible customer service situation to take away all your affinity for a service business. Ryan, working today, is one of the rudest and most uncaring customer service people I have ever encountered. Bought $1000 worth of tires from the guy. After installing tires he showed me I would have issues if I didn't buy new cheesy aftermarket wheels from him. Upon leaving, every warning light in my car went off. I returned later to have it checked out and he refused despite my having bought extended warranties on the tires. He could not have been less helpful. When I next return to this location I really hope that his behavior has caught up with him and that he is no longer employed by Discount Tires. They are always quick and efficient, friendly and they never try to sell me something I don't need or talk me into a more expensive this or that. I watched the tech dent, ding, and scratch my STi wheels with the air gun on each and every nut. There is one ding on my rear drivers side wheel that goes all the way through to bare aluminum. I have had really good experiences over the years at your Dallas Northwest highway store. However on Sept 19, 2019, I purchased new tires. When I arrived home, the lube that had been used to place the tires on the rims had not been removed. I took my car back today to get the lube washed off. The employee said he had fixed the problem-- Instead the lube had been spread to the rims. After the same representative tried to tell me he had removed what was obviously not removed, I had someone else address the problem. I met Gustavo he did what should have been done yesterday before I ever left the store. Hope attention to detail and quality do not suffer at this store. What can I say? This location has always come through for me and service is always with a smile. Further, they are as efficient as they can be from what I've seen. The staff is fairly no nonsense, hasn't tried to upsell me on anything, fixes my flats for free, and they've always been courteous. Hope you're not wanting to turn left back onto Northwest Highway, though. That's a pain. Cut over to the Pollo Regio drive-thru exit so you can turn right onto NW Hwy and then U-turn it. I always go here to buy tires and I get a great price. They include free tire rotations for life, so that is a $25 savings per pop, so that is a real benefit. The wait is usually about an hour for service but I think it is worth it. This is my go-to place to buy tires. Staff seems to know what it is talking about and is always courteous and friendly. Yeah, you need to be vigilant against upselling, but that is America in 2013, even at the dentist. read more

I had already done my research online and had a specific brand and style in mind but unfortunately it wasn't available, not even in their warehouse. Chris found some that were cheaper (still name brand though) and ordered them; they arrived the same day but I couldn't leave work so I made an appt for the next morning. I bought tires here, and I think I got a good deal. Plus, I can get them rotated and balanced for free. Generally, I think Discount Tire Co. is the best tire store around. I like them better than Pep Boys or NTB, but this shop wasn't as good as some others I've tried. I knocked off 2 stars for the agressive up-selling and the long wait. I got suckered into buying a warranty and they tried to sell me some special lug-nuts. My husband was NOT happy about that when I got home. I would go here again, but I'll shop online first, decide what I want, and just ignore any sales pitches. read more

My husband needed new tires for his F250, so today we set out to find someone that sells the Goodyear tires he wanted. We ended up at Discount Tire on Northwest Highway and Abrams. My last tire experience was when I was stuck at a Firestone after my tire blew out on I 30 on my way to work one morning (a tow truck driven by a man who was literally 1/2 my height dropped me off there). I only needed that one tire replaced and I was there so long I was forced to use what can only be described as the nastiest, never-cleaned bathroom known to man. So, I took a magazine on this latest trek because I was expecting another long wait. Less than 30 minutes later, our truck was parked by the door waiting on us. 4 tires in 30 minutes? What the heck took the Firestone guys 2 hours for 1 tire? Are you kidding me? Keep me from waiting forever and I give you 5 stars! Thanks, boys! read more

I've been using discount tire for years now and will always recommend them to friends and family with tire issues. They are fast, efficient, and friendly people. Today was my first poor experience with them. Scheduled an appointment a few days in advance for 9:45 this morning. Arrive 10 minutes beforehand, get there and sign in. After taking a look at the car I'm told it would be an hour to an hour and twenty minutes. No problem even though I thought that was a little long for a scheduled appointment. So after two hours go by I ask the gentleman who I signed in with about how much longer it will be. He tells me give or take 30 minutes. It's now been two hours and 20 minutes I have been here. So I check their computer screen to see how many are in front of me. Turns out they never even put me down for an appointment! I go and ask another employee about this said it was their mistake and apologized. The guy (assistant manager) who screwed this up couldn't even be bothered to apologize or say much of anything at that point. So they get my car in the bay finally. Reason for the visit is a slow leak on the rear passenger side tire. I decided to also get two tires switched out while I was there. So they have the car in the bay for about five minutes get the new tires put on and I'm sure trying to move folks in and out as fast as possible (I get it). Gentleman comes out and tells me they couldn't find anything on the back tire which was the entire reason for the visit. I tell him it needs to be checked again because there is absolutely a puncture.. after checking again they find a small nail and are able to patch up. 2.5 hours later I'm done and leaving. I was pretty dissapointed with the service today just felt like a giant waste of time. Something that could've easily been avoided. Maybe just an off day? read more

Discount Tire is awesome. Except for one serious flaw. The tires are reasonable, the road hazard replacement is great, free rotations, etc. BUT, their idea of what 'appointment' means is clearly different than ours. Has happened to my family every time we've had an 'appointment'. Had a 12 noon appointment today to install 4 new tires on my truck. Arrived early. Not many in the waiting area. Prompt check in. Then proceeded to watch several walk-ins get in and get out before they even took my truck back. At the very least, the guy checking in could say 'it looks like it'll be 45 minutes before we can get your truck in. If you have something to do, go do it, get back here by then. I'll hold your spot when it opens up.'. Be 5 stars if they fixed this. read more

Stopped in here after I got a flat and had to put the donut on. All the guys here are so very nice, and they seem to really enjoy their jobs- running around with smiles on their faces (= The tire that was flat was destroyed internally, and they concluded that the other front tire was shot as well. This is believable, because both tires were always needing air. They got me in faster than expected so that was nice! Giving only 4 stars because the price they gave me was $30 more than it should have been- I asked them why and he said their road hazard package was included. I declined that and the price went back down to what was expected. Upsales are just a part of their business, so be sure to have them read off your bill before you agree to it. My hat is off to this store and the corporate office. During the regular rotate and balance of the tires on our Jeep an issue developed. These things happen. The reason for the 5 stars is that the store manager (Felix) and the home office claims person (Jim) were very quick to resolve and correct the issue. Always professional, courteous, and honest. We bring all 4 of our family's vehicles here. However, IMO they need to either turn the radio off or play another station. As I needed to wait nearly 2 hours during my recent visit, I would have preferred not listening to Christian music with many commercials at a loud volume, while trying to get some paperwork done. I was raised in another faith, and am tolerant to different religions and musical tastes, but the owners of a business that serves the public need to be mindful that some of their clientele may not care for such a specific religious music genre. I've been using discount tire for about 8 years now on three different vehicles and I can't say I've had a bad experience yet. Prompt service and very professional. The tire warranty/certificates have literally saved me thousands of dollars as well, if you have low profile tires in Texas you need a tire warranty. This location has some of the friendliest people working there. I went in with a nail in my tire and technician Richards had to give me the unfortunate news that it couldn't be repaired. I was really disappointed and worried that there prices would be too much, compared to the small used tire business around. As a full time student and part-time nanny I have to keep on a budget. But Richards was able to work with me and gave me a great price. I didn't need to go anywhere else. I was in and out in about 30 minutes and that was at a pretty busy time. Yesterday was the first time I had ever visited Discount Tire, but after a friend told me what great service he'd experienced, I decided to try it for myself. I was greeted by an employee/manager in the parking lot just moments after I got out of the car. He was friendly and courteous, and allowed me to tell him exactly what I needed without him jumping in and suggesting things I "needed." Once inside the store he gave me options that were completely affordable, and didn't tried to upcharge me on anything... in fact he ended up giving me a deal. I gave him the keys, and one of the employees took my van into the service bay, and after ten minutes he approached me, not to say I needed something else, or he needed to show me anything, but to tell me my car was ready. I brought my vehicle to get new tires. I left with a broken tire sensor and the next day I noticed a missing hubcap. This is my late fathers vehicle and the lack of empathy. I am now going to have to come back a 4th time to get a hubcap that will not match the others. Leaving my car looking ratchet. I will not be back to this store. I went to the location on forest lane in garland would not rotate tires because one was at 5/32nds and was slightly worn on one side it was what he said was a 4/32 on side one quarter inch of the side but there was no groove there to check he said it was a hazard and dangerous tire and he would not rotate to rear the car was new 20,250 miles also I had one leaking air I was told same guys it's not leaking even though he needed to add 18 pounds of air to it I went two miles away and c&m tire found a nail in tire within one minute I have several autos and recently have had same issues at Arlington copper street location and Corinth i35 location so I'm thinking the company has changed policies that will put them in same class as NTB tire and batteries Walmart has these policies as NTB of not helping at all after the sale just make the sale new tires or no service help from us I'm disappointed discount tire is following them and wanting top dollar for their tires at the same time read more

Amazing service! I went in today in a panic because I was running late for a funeral and had a nail in my tire. I was fully expecting for them to be too busy to accommodate me but they fit me in right away so that I wouldn't have to risk driving on a flat and damaging my rim.
