Look, tires are a commodity. You can get them at any number of places. A Cooper Discoverer tire is a Cooper Discoverer tire. Whether you get it at Discount Tire, Tire Rack, Matt's Tire Shop, etc.. So then it comes down to service. My experience wasn't great. First, they leave your car several blocks away at their overflow lot. Okay, whatever. But what about putting the wrong tires on your vehicle?? I had already been waiting around for too long and had to get back to work. So when they told me my truck was ready I hastily made my way to the overflow lot, jumped in my pickup and headed back to work. That's when I realized they put on the wrong tires. I'm looking at the receipt right now. It says Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S OWL. What is OWL you ask? That is Outlined White Letters. Just like in the picture when I ordered them. Now, that's not that big of a deal, right? Well, when you turn down a better price for the tires they ultimately put on your vehicle it is. Sam's Club (of which I am a member) was offering the tires that are currently on my truck for $20 less per tire and free installation. The ONLY reason I went with Discount Tire is because I was willing to pay extra for the OWL tires. Whoops!!! I've tried calling customer service and also calling this store directly. Total combined time waiting on hold: 90 minutes. Never did get anyone on the phone. It's not that convenient for me to get to this store in person, so I was hoping to reach a resolution over the phone. For now, I will settle for a crappy review, badmouthing them locally any chance I get and never doing business with Discount Tire again. There are better options in Denver, trust me! read more

My two back tires have had a slow leak for sometime now. I have not had the money to replace them quite yet, but have plans in the making when financial situations are better. My experience with other discount tires in the past is that they were happy to plug any holes free of charge, which is great! Unfortunately my visit there yesterday was not so great. I was hoping that I could get my tires checked but the guy (sorry I can't remember his name. 23-year-old blonde that stated he hadn't drank alcohol for six years) that "helped" me made it very obvious that if I wasn't going to spend any money there he was not going to help me. Not only did he try to sell me a full set of tires, he asked to see my spare even though it was buried in my trunk. He said that even though he couldn't see it WAS seven years old and it was probably time to replace it. He was all about sales, sales, sales and pushing those sales. He said he would help me but it would be an hour and 45 minute wait. I got the impression that he said that because he did not want to help me because I was not spending any money, so he quoted me an extra long wait time so I would not wait. He was successful. I left. However my last visit today was packed with over salesmanship and poor quality service. I'm no longer convinced that they're the lowest price in town and certainly not the best service.I understand that a tire shop is in the business of selling tires. Firstly, my work is very close to this location and everyone in my office suggested this place to get a new set of tires because the customer service is amazing. SO TRUE. By just walking in you can tell that the atmosphere is positive; the sales reps and the customers look happy and then you look to your right through the windows at the mechanics and they're just as happy(if not more). Secondly, you can tell that this team has strong knowledge about their products and they do a very good job at keeping the customers needs in mind. Not only that, but not once did they try and hustle me to buy additional products or up-sell me on tires which is very rare now-a-days at auto shops. They walk you through different tire options to help you find something to suit your needs and fit within your budget. Their prices are pretty good--while I'd rather spend money on almost anything other than tires, it felt good to drive off in spiffy new all weather tires without breaking the bank. These guys are super quick, too--once you've chosen the tires you want, they put them on right away. In my experience they were done in about half an hour--enough time for me to knock out some emails on my phone. They also offer free rotations to their customers, so I'll most certainly be back later this year for that. All in all, it's nothing sexy, but it's necessary. The last thing anyone wants to be surprised with on a Friday night is a nail in your tire. This was the first time I've ever had this happen, and I really didn't know where to start! So I searched for tire stores near me and came across Discount Tire. Honestly, in a moment of "what do I do?!" their website was amazing. I was able to read guidelines to see if my tire could just be patched. The nail was outside of the tread, so it couldn't be repaired. But I was able to find my exact tire in their inventory at a local store, schedule an appointment for the next day, and I was even provided an invoice online so I knew exactly what I would be paying in store. All I had to do was show up at my appointment time and they were ready for me. I was able to pay up front for convenience, and they were even able to sell me road hazard warranty for ALL FOUR of my tires, not just the one I bought from them as a replacement! This location is walking distance to a Panera, so I was able to bring my laptop and get some work done while enjoying a latte and a scone. How lovely. I was in and out in a hour, their pricing was incredibly competitive, and their customer service was fantastic from everyone I encountered there. This was the easiest "life blip" I've ever had to handle. And now, I don't have to worry if it happens again, I'm covered! Businesses like this, you know the ones where you can just walk-in without an appointment are hard when you don't plan ahead, because they get busy and everybody is in a rush. BUT, I had the most awesome and thoughtful experience. I had made an appt but had called back to see if they had a drop box for keys and to get a quote for my tires. DIEGO!!!! Answered all my questions and cancelled my appointment so that he could get my car in ASAP. the next morning when I dropped off my car(before they opened), Diego came out to meet me and made sure we had all my ducks in a row. When my car was ready I got a text, which was appreciated. I was able to pick up my car after work, which was a busy time, I waited my turn patiently. Diego remembered me from the morning, told me to wait for him to ring me up. He brought my car around, turned the heat on, gave me the run down and then extended himself for further questions. I was left setting for 3 hours waiting for my car.. that was me watching the wave of people I arrived with come and go, then a second wave of people... My family has been long time customers and bought most if not all of our tires at this south Colorado Blvd location. The former manager Dave was wonderful to deal with. Recently my wife had a minor accident and one of her tires was ruined. We needed to get it changed as soon as possible. It took 3 days calling several times a day before anyone answered the phone at this location. Once I spoke to someone I was told they were swamped and it would take between 3-5 hours before they could even look at our car and tire. Very disappointed in how they treat their regular customers and am inclined never to return. read more

First and foremost, understand that Discount Tires--and probably most of the industry--will take you for a ride as far as you're willing to let them. If you're not careful, you'll wake up hung over and broke in Juarez three months pregnant flushing the white horse down the drain before Tony Montana introduces you to his little friend. So, I went in there the other day and was greeted at the door by the assistant manager. Understand that the you don't get to be assistant manager without demonstrating a rare Shakespearean talent for back-stabbing , so you may want to drift towards an underling. They'll still feed you a line of bull--maybe 60 percent truth ratio--but at least their neophyte stripes will be glaring a little brighter. The big boys can be a little intimidating, especially for those off us not versed in tire speak. They quoted me a price of $570 for two new tires. The assistant king told me that this was a rare and expensive tire. So, I told him I'd let him know. I walked out to my car and called on my google homies. Just read the tire type and size off the tire and google it. Then, hit google shopping button. Sort by price. I found a place selling them for 110 less each! I called the little king from the parking lot. He said he'd match the price. That's their deal, so use the force against them Young Skywalker. I scampered back in. He told me that level of price variation is very very rare. In all his years, he's only seen it a few times. Draw your own conclusions. Knowledge is power brothers and sisters! I walked inside and showed him the ad and he said no problem. Nobody in their right mind wants to mess with ordering the tires to their home and what not, so I decided to let his BS pass and have him order them. He had originally promised to buy my old tires at 25 a piece. He told me he could no longer do that, but explained that he only felt sorry for me when he was ripping me off. Now that I was getting a fair price, well the "generosity" didn't seem appropriate. What a gem! He said he'd happily dispose of my tires for free. Yet another generous gesture! I told him I"d keep them. After the new tires were installed, I traveled four miles from D-tires to a used tire dude named Rancho on South Broadway and he paid me twenty each for my tires. Cash money! Don't leave your poor tires with these boys if they have any tread, they're worth something. As a side note, I'd recommend actually buying tires from used joints. I was feeling in a happy mood and decided to splurge. He did add a five dollar sensor charge for each tire, whatever the hell that is. At that point, I couldn't muster the gumption to call bull pukey. I came back an hour later when the tire arrived and had some time to kill. I must say the Asian massage parlor next door is a great way to kill an half hour. They were very friendly, not cheap, but let's save all that frisky business for the next review. On a recent drive through the Cherry Creek area, I ran over a massive pot hole, which caused the side wall of one of my tires to burst. Yep, those are the hazards Denver faces with its roller coaster temperatures. Boo. So the next morning, I rushed over to Discount Tire to get it replaced. And not wanting to be too late for work, I made sure to be there just as the doors opened at 8AM. Well, everyone else had the same idea because while I was there super early, so were about 5 other people. Nevertheless, I was seen quickly and given the lowdown about the different options for my tires. After selecting my replacement, my car was seen and finished within about 15 minutes. These guys are super fast and extremely helpful! While they did try to sell me extraneous insurance, there was no pressure to buy anything I didn't need. These guys know how to run a good franchise business. The first time I came in, I had a nasty flat tire and they hooked me up with a good spare tire. They also fix minor flats for free, even if you've never been there before. The last time I was in, they were able to give me all kinds of discounts, including a competitor discount match. I didn't even have to do mail-in rebates--they gave me a credit on the spot. The other nice thing about their service is that they pro-rate the tread warranty on tires, meaning they'll discount the remaining treadware should you decide to get new tires. On top of everything, they just look like they're having fun. Kudos, gentlemen. I recommend the Goodyear Assurance Triple-Tread tires for those Subaru-less roadies who still want to be able to get some traction on occasional mountain trips. You won't go wrong. read more

Chose Discount Tire over Big O Tires because they had my size tire in stock and quoted a time to get me in-and-out between one hour and one hour and 45 minutes, and prices quoted over the phone were very close + all other features. Big O needed 3 hours to get my size from another store. #1 I was greeted professionally by a very well dressed and uniform staff, followed by an extremely clean customer reception area -- complete with a full magazine rack (and magazines had special binders too, so they weren't ripped to shreads.) #2 I was unsure I needed new tires, so the customer rep came out to my car and measured the tires, confirming what another tire center had informed me. #3: They met their quoted time to the minute and I was on my way -- all of this WITHOUT an appointment -- and they had a steady stream of customers before and after me. I had a kind of bad customer service experience here the other day when I was buying tires for Tiffany's Jeep. They came highly recommended and I called in advance to figure out what I wanted to get. I made an appointment, went down and when I got there the guy that I talked to was out even though he told me to ask for him. After another guy fumbled around for a while he figured out that the first guy had quoted me wheels that wouldn't fit, but it wasn't a huge deal, that had something else that would work for about the same price. I waited an extremely long time and when I could finally see that the Jeep was ready no one ever called my name to tell me it was ready. I finally asked and they told me that they only had two of these silly little hubcaps rather than the 5 I should've had and instead of asking me what I wanted to do they just put 2 of them on. So now I'm rolling around in with 2 hubcaps instead of 5. Worst of all, when I went to check out, the guy just quickly glanced over the detail page and I noticed the total was about $300 more expensive than I was expecting, and I had to make him go back and explain to him that I didn't want like 5 different line items of tire insurance and other crap that I never indicated that I wanted. That's the main reason I'm only giving them one star, because it's fine if you want to try and sell extended warranties, but at least be cool and explain it to your customer instead of being sneaky about it. All things considered besides the warranty incident, I'm extremely happy with what they sold me and their prices were great. But yeah I still only have 2 hubcaps. At this point it's my fault for not getting them to fix it, I have no doubt they would. Besides you have to look really hard to notice and the vehicle has been constantly covered in mud ever since the tires were put on anyway. read more

I don't even know how to review this place. Half the time the wait is far too long. However, today I dropped off for a mail in my tire. They told me to expect it to be done around 730/8pm. Which to me seemed like a long time. Then he said follow the tracker and plan to be here around 7 and it should be be a wait. I said ok no problem. I even said if it was late they can stash my key for me. So we go eat dinner and get a text at 615 my car was complete. Given they said 8pm figured get there at 7 like he said we are good. Hell no. We got there at 10 after 7 and my car was locked up outside as was the building locked and closed. So now I have to drive all the way home to get my spare set of keys to get my car JUST to go back in the morning to get my keys. WTF would you tell anyone to come if you're legit closed and don't plan on being there to begin. I absolutely 100% dread any tire issues because this is such a good damned hassle every single time. read more

I met Edwin the Assistant Manager and he said they will take a look at it. 30 minutes goes by and he said it's all set to go. Ok, buying tires isn't fun, sexy, or entertaining. You're not going to look forward to it. You're not going to brag about it. It's pretty much a pain in the ass. It sucks. And it's expensive. Enough about that, when you need 'em, you need em. And when that time comes, just head over to Discount Tire. They will match any price, if its online or at Costco, they will get there. So, my experience was pretty straightforward: looked online, called Costco, did a little research, then called the boys at Discount, told them what I needed, told them the best price (which was only $2 per tire lower than their price), and BAM, done! They ordered them and set me up with an appointment, and they had me in and out in 25 minutes. I didn't even have time to make it all the way through the CURRENT edition of the magazines they had in the waiting room. No lie. A long time ago in a previous life I used to mount tires at a service station (remember those? I doubt it!), and I can tell you, doing what they did in 25 minutes isn't easy! The best customer service I've ever received at any tire place or Discount Tire. The place was packed when I came in with a line stretching to the door. They cycled through us fairly quickly but even during the wait in line, employees were constantly greeting us, checking in on us, asking if anyone was there just for pick up (to expedite)... I was so impressed. When I got to the counter I was expecting either to be rushed through my questions/requests (I had four issues I needed to present) or to be more or less ignored. Not the case. Dude gave me his full attention and respect, answered all my questions, and gave me a very close-to-accurate approximate of when my car would be ready (his quote: 1 hour 45 minutes. real time: 1 hour 55 minutes). If you buy your tires here, they give you free balance/rotation AND free flat repair. Always feels good walking away with $0 bill even after a bunch of stuff has been done. And done well. I'll see you guys in another 5,000 miles. (I might avoid a Friday afternoon this time, though, in hopes of avoiding the crowds.) read more

Too fast too furious, the ownership puts too much pressure the store employees to crank out the sausage. The techs should use torque wrenches and not impact wrenches to finish wheel installs as I broke 2 of my locking bolts freeing them from being drilled down to hard with the torque wrenches. Who pays for it, the cost isn't the issue it's the fact that you have to damage customers property to crank out volume. I'd hate to see your safety record for your techs. I ordered wheels on May 4, their guy forgot to submit my order after he charged me...he submitted the order a week later and they showed up 15 days after the original call. The internet would have fulfilled within 4 or 5 days and I had plans I had to cancel due to this delay. When the wheels did show up one was damaged in shipping. When they got the replacement in a week later, I had to wait 3 hours for the new wheel to be put on. The appointments don't mean anything as you can't guarantee when my vehicle will actually be worked on (appointments aren't given priority to walk-ins). I have to take a day off from work just to get my tires rotated or new wheels put on. Your guys are nice but aren't given tools and facilities by the ownership to actually give quality service. read more

I purchased a used set of tires from them and after they mounted them on my truck it was discovered that there was a leak in the side wall of one of the tires. They immediately took them off and placed a brand new set of tires on my truck, for no extra cost. These guys are a top notch crew that do excellent work. I don't write many reviews, but the guys at Discount Tire have earned a rave. Last spring, I brought my BMW in to do my semi-annual swap from winter/summer rims and tires. After they put my summers on, I returned in our truck a few days later to haul the winter wheels home for the season - only problem was that they'd LOST my winter rims and tires. Not to worry, said Aaren - they simply said to come back in the fall for a full replacement. Sure enough, we ordered up Beyern wheels and some brand new Bridgestone Blizzaks. They're installing them as I type this. There is no charge, and they truly handled this like champs. Real customer service is revealed when things DON'T go right. This whole chain of tire stores has never disappointed me. I have been to several in different states across the country and they have always had the same high quality service and attention to detail. Bobby told me on the phone that it would be about 30-40 minutes to put 4 tires on my Explorer, I of course assumed he was completely full of shit and it would be about 2 hours. Well I'll be goddamned if they didn't have 4 tires mounted and balanced in 25 minutes!! These guys run a NASCAR pit crew back there I swear to god. I'm fairly certain that I got a decent deal for off-road and snow tires but didn't shop around too much, but I don't really know if I would go anywhere else. They offered me a lifetime replacement plan (warranty) on the tires which I wouldn't normally go for but it actually seemed fairly legit so I sprung for it, and it was only $15/tire or something like that.
