I'm pretty finicky when it comes to having my tires changed. My ride sits on a set of custom wheels so I'm always fearful about the tire tech tearing up my rims. But this DT location in Flower Mound is very accommodating. I spoke to the manager before going to the shop to ensure that they can install my low-profile tires (245/35/19 and 285/30/19). He was kind enough to offer installing the tires by hand to ensure that my wheels would not be damaged. I would definitely go back to this location for my next set of tire install. read more

I had kind of a bad experience there this morning. Made an appointment for 10am, they let me know it would be about an hour wait. That's pretty normal, and I brought a book for the wait. About an hr in, the guys up front were telling customers the wait was two and a half hrs. I gave it another hour before waiting in the long line to ask. My name hadn't been announced to my knowledge. When I asked what time I could expect it to be done, it had been ready for a while. In the future, it might be good to reannounce completed orders. It shouldn't be up to me to stand in line to ask every 30 mins. read more

RIP off. Several months ago I bought what were supposed to be THE best tires they had for sale for my car. After only 10k miles I go in for a tire rotation and they wont do it because the tires are "too worn down and I need to buy new tires". The tires have a 60,000 mile rating and are supposedly the best tires they carry. Either the tires aren't what they say or they are trying to screw me into buying new already. Lost this customer and I'll recommend NOT buying tires here. read more

Amazing customer service! A stud on my wheel went kind of wonky when getting my tires replaced there (It's an older car, so I can't blame them). Even though the shops had been closed for 30 minutes, one of the employees came out and took the time to clean up the treads on the stud and they even offered to get the stud replaced if I wanted. It really showed they cared about taking care of their customers. 10/10 recommend using Discount Tire. read more

Bought four new tires at this location and ended up getting a nail in one of them. Brought the car back and they replaced the tire and did a rotation (A+ so far). They didn't balance the new tire or the other tires when they rotated. Took the car back in there to have the tires balanced because when I got to 65 mph the car shook pretty bad. They fixed the balancing issue, so I thought. Since that date I've been losing 1-2 pounds per pressure a week on the tire they replaced. Brought it back in and they told me I'm going to need all new wheels because of chrome peel. I have a brand new Chevy Silverado High Country and they told me they have problems with these chrome wheels. Called Chevy, called other tire shops around and nobody has heard of such a thing.......UPDATING-had a great conversation with Jesus from Discount Tire. Thank you Jesus! read more

My son brought my car in for three new tires. I'm guessing the technician profiled my college age son as a spoiled kid who drives a luxury car because he was exceptionally rude to him. The tech was throwing around jargon and stated the tires are "run flat", and when my son asked what that meant the tech rolled his Neanderthal eyes at him. And when we declined the additional warranty the tech actually said to my son "she has no idea what she's doing". Aside from the non existent hospitality and overall general manners, they're dishonest. I researched the tires before bringing the car in and chose the one that fit my make and model and wheel. Yet when my son took the car in, they told him that tire won't fit the car and proceeded to upsell him. They then tacked on an additional $120 for installing three tires. I took my car in on 9/6 for new tires. As usual, they were very busy, the salesman seemed preoccupied with taking a lunch break while I haggled with him over the price of three tires. I left my car there as he told me it would be a 2.5 hour wait. When I picked up my car and returned home, I noticed one of the lug nuts on the left front wheel was broken due to over tightening. Nobody at the store bothered telling me about this. I immediately returned to the store and pointed this out to my sales guy. He in turn responded initially with "oh, I thought this was something serious." Then he started apologizing and telling me he'd have to order a lug nut from Honda. I know it's a lug nut, but how bad do you have to screw up a customer's car before it's considered serious enough to tell them about it and want to make it right immediately? Needless to say, Discount has lost my business due to a broken lug nut and sloppy service. I've since replaced the nut myself and will be replacing them as my tire shop. read more

I called to ask about a nail in my tire and the guy on the phone was really nice and said I can bring it in anytime and there is no charge to fix it. When I got there they were helpful and nice and fixed my tire in just under an hour. It was crowded in there and they were so nice to everyone they were helping. I've been known to buy these hard working guys at numerous locations breakfast/lunch, just when I have some extra $. This time I just needed air in my tires and the man said I'd be next after the 4th car (which was a Jeep). So I waited. After another car went in, I asked them if I was next. They said they'll make sure of it...then ANOTHER car went in. So now I have no air because I'm really late as is for work. Discount use to be 1st rate but something has changed. This is the second time I've had to come back to have my tires rebalanced, and each time I have had to wait 1.5 hours for them to get around to correcting their mistakes. Today, at discount tire in Highland Village, I asked for the serial numbers of the tires that they had previously put on my car. The response was that they don't keep that information in the system. I went into Discount Tire because I was in an accident on 35 and needed a tire valve stem replaced. I was on my way to work and I was told it would be about an hour and a half. Not only was it quicker than estimated, but everyone that works there was so nice and helpful. Also, it was no charge! I couldn't have asked for a better experience after being in an accident. Due to wait time, made reservation for next day @ 8:45. Reserved 4 Michelin tires that were supposedly in stock. Call the morning of at 8:30 to confirm. Was told everything was okay, come on in. Upon check-in was advised 2 of the tire had been sold the previous day. Could install 2 and return, use another brand or mix the Michelins with another brand. The old "bait &switch" game. Called Discount at Grapevine. They reserved the tires and had me in & out in less than 1hour. Being a long time Discount customer has no weight at the 407 store. Untrustworthy, buyer beware. I have dealt with FM Discount Tire since they opened. They are normally pretty good and offer good all round service. Today I went in to have two new tires fitted to my car. Brandon (IIRC) took my information and we were just about to walk out to look at my car when he picked up the phone and started to deal with another customer without an "excuse me" or "please could you wait a moment". We were left standing there like a spare d**k at a wedding. After about 5 minutes enough was enough so we went to Goodyear who treated as customers should be treated. If one of my sales people did that to one of my customers they would be in real trouble!!!! read more

Had tires replaced on my wife"s car awhile back. On a trip over the weekend, I hit some road debris and the a tire went flat. Tuesday, my wife took the wheel in to Discount. I figure the tire was damaged but Discount's representative pointed out the wheel was damaged. I was offered the option of having the wheel repaired and the condition of the tire would not be know until it was remounted. A couple of days later, i called to inquire about the wheel. The repair was successful but the rep informed me the wrong tires were on the car. Apparently, tires with a lower profile were installed, not the ones I thought I purchased. Discount inspect the remaining three tires and replaced all four AT NO CHARGE!!! I have great respect and trust in a company that will own up and fix a mistake that I did not realize was made. Mistakes can happen. Anyone can have a bad day but it's the "make it right" attitude that insures I will not be shopping for tires anywhere but Discount Tire, Highland Village. read more

I called to make an appointment to have tires put on my car. I was told to just bring it in, as there was no appointment needed. I explained that I have an infant and an older child, and I wanted an appointment so that I wouldn't have to wait beyond the standard time. The corporate site says you can make an appointment so that you can avoid long waits. I asked again for an appointment. I was told once again that there wasn't any sort of wait beyond the normal time and to just come in. I arrived within 3 minutes of that phone call, and the waiting room was FULL when I got there. I asked once more before handing over my keys and paying over $1k for tires and the usual fees. I was reassured that it would still be only a little over an hour. Stupid me. I believed them. While sitting in the waiting area for hours, the same man continued to take calls and tell people the same thing he told me, "No appointment needed. We can can get you in and out in the standard time if you come right now". HA! People were exhausted and sick of waiting... and they were still telling people there was no wait! They are liars. Please don't waste your time at this location. I sincerely hope they are not all as poorly run as the FM407 location... please don't believe them when they lie to you over the phone and refuse multiple requests for an appointment. I'm currently having issues with my tread life on these tires... even paid for their insane warranty on top of the manufacturer warranty... took it in, and they just want me to buy all new tires! How convenient. I have 20k miles on 55k mile tires. I'll be contacting corporate first thing Monday morning. UPDATE: 7/16... was told to take my vehicle to a different location, and I will say that the Corinth store is managed VERY nicely. They DO offer appointments, unlike the Flower Mound location... and they were able to help me with my defective tires. If you're in the area, the drive to Corinth is worth it to be treated with all around respect! read more

The highlight of the day came from outstanding service provided by two employees in particular! As such, I was certain to obtain both of their names. I've been using Discount Tire for several years now, this location specifically for the last 3 years. I had never had a problem or complaint; the employees were always friendly, up until this past Saturday February 4, 2017. 9AM that morning I had noticed while driving to the local grocery store that my tire pressure light was on and the pressure was reading 19 PSI which I knew was unusually low. The weather was a tad colder so I didn't think too much about it, however I'd either have my pressure checked or I'd add air later on that day. While on my way to Lewisville from my home in Lantana around 4:45PM that evening I decided to stop at the Flower Mound Discount Tire to have them do a 'free air check' on all 4 of my tires. As I pulled up there was no one currently in the car port so as soon as I was waved to drive in I did so. Let me first start off by saying that I was a little scatter brained that day and it didn't dawn on me the operating hours of this store were 8AM-5PM. As I waited for one of the 6-7 technicians that walked by I began to think they were extremely busy and I'd be there for some time just to get my tire pressure checked. After about 10-12 minutes of sitting in the car port waiting to be helped, a kind young man (never caught his name) came over to my window and politely asked if he could open my car door to get some information off the inside of it. First he checked my front two tires, then my back right tire and before checking my back left tire he came to my window and stated that I had a good size nail puncturing my right rear tire and it was causing a significant leak. (Reason why my PSI was so low earlier that day). This gentleman then told me that the store was closing in about 5 minutes but if I went inside and spoke to someone at the front desk that he would "start" working on the repair to my tire. I walked inside only to stand at the desk for another 6-8 minutes while (so it seemed) every employee walked pass me without saying a word or really even giving me the slightest bit of eye contact. I have worked in retail before (many years ago) and know how frustrating it is to get a customer that walks in right before closing. HOWEVER, this wasn't an issue with a t-shirt I had purchased or for me to complain about service. This was a NAIL in my rear tire that was causing a "substantial leak" which could at any given time blow out and cause a major wreck on some huge freeway. Mind you, I had my 3 year old son and 8 year old sister in the car with me as well. As I stood there waiting for someone to assist me at the front desk I watched as the only gentleman to help me in the over 20 minutes I had been there walked around trying to get someone upfront to assist me. The first employee he mentioned the issue to copped an attitude as if I was inconveniencing his Saturday night plans to do his job and rolled his eyes and then threw my tire to the side while he went to work on something else, the second employee brushed him off like he didn't actually hear him but then proceeded to come to the front and ask me for my phone number. I gave him my phone number, I stood there and waited for him to say something and his next response to me was "k, that's it." (With a shitty arrogance in his tone of voice). I was aware that this repair wasn't going to cost me anything and after getting the feeling I was a bothersome to each and every employee for even being there I began to sense that because I wasn't making them any money & preventing them from closing on time, my safety wasn't AT ALL a concern to them. If it wasn't for the young gentleman that was really the only employee that was willing to help me and didn't make me feel like I was a COMPLETE inconvenience, I most likely would have asked to speak with the manager about the uncomfortable feeling I had while in their store. Like I stated previously I get it, I understand how annoying it can be to work in "retail" and have someone walk in around closing time. BUT when it comes to something as serious as having a huge nail in your tire, which was creating a slow leak and could have potentially created a huge accident I feel compelled to write this review and hopefully get some sort of reassurance that the Discount Tire employees at the Flower Mound, TX store were just a little off their game that day and they aren't ALL really unsympathetic, insensitive jerks. To the gentleman that was kind enough to NOT make me feel like an inconvenience to his Saturday night plans, THANK YOU! Thank you for fixing my tire and putting me safely back on the road. We need more people like you in this world. An otherwise free fix got him a nice tip because of his caring, kind, helpful work ethic and attitude. read more

I left my truck to have 4 new tires. Being it was Good Friday, the store closed from noon to 3pm. I arrived at 10:45 am , the place was super busy and I told them I would be back later , after 3 pm. I got a text that my truck was ready to be picked up at noon. Now that was FAST ! will pick up after 3 . I chose them because another shop in town wanted to do $1700.00 worth of needless work before buying tires . Don't like being taken advantage of. Discount Tires did not ! read more
