Discount Tire removed my two front rims and installed my factory rims because I wanted the two front rims to match each other while that chrome rim were being repaired. On March 18th, 2026 my friend took my rim to LoneStar Wheel Repair and the repairs were completed, we paid $154.50 and picked up the rim up on March 20th. On March 20th 2026, Discount Tire removed the factory rims, replaced the chrome rims, put the repaired rims on the opposite side. On March 21st 2026 when I got in my car the air was back down to 19, so I called LoneStar Wheel Repair, but they close at noon on Saturdays. So, I went back to Discount Tire they checked the tires/rim and it was determined it wad still bent and needed to be repaired again. On Monday, March 23rd, 2026, I called LoneStar Wheel Repair and was told to bring it in. This time I drove over and when I got out of the car, the Owner, immediately guaranteed me that it was a different rim. Even before she liked at it. The, owner insisted they "mark" all repaired rims but refused to let me see these so called markings. Instead of even trying to understand what happened, she accused me of damaging another rim within less than 24 hours and blamed "the way I drive." Completely unprofessional! They refused to take responsibility and charged me another $154.50 to fix what was clearly the same rim. No accountability, no customer service, and very disrespectful treatment. I would not trust this business especially if you drive a nice vehicle and expect careful honest service. The curb rash (some of it severe) on my wheels disappeared, and now they look better than new, thanks to the UV-resistant clearcoat he applied to protect them from our hot Texas sun. Took it home, put the spare on, drove the tire to Mo @ Kings Customs. I asked if it can be safely repaired. They said by either methos, patch or plug. Plug is more labor, but I asked for a patch. Less than 20 minutes I was back on the road, tire repaired, good for another 50k miles. I told my son long ago to always trust Kings Customs, never bother with Discount Tire. I usually stay away from big business tire shops and use mom & pop shops simply due to price inflation and the overly aggressive "sales". I just moved to this area from out of state, so I've lost my network of shops. I called Wednesday to get a pair of tires mounted and balanced (off the car, I was just bringing in the pair). They were slammed so I made an appointment for Friday morning. I show up and the first question is "did your tech tell you how much it would cost?"... immediately knowing where he was going... in my experience mount and balance usually costs around $35 for a loose tire. The sales guy said ,"yea, it's going to be $85 a tire." I was SHOCKED & pissed at the same time. I replied, "for the pair right?" He confirmed, "no, $85 each." Then proceeds to tell me, it's because they're "low profile tires".. it's a 35 series on a 245. The fact is, there's no difference in mounting attire other than it requires a tire tech to work instead of having a machine do it all on its own. I wasn't mad at the fact of the price as much as I know this company gets over on people that are un knowledgeable on what things should cost. So, I drove 1 mile to Walmart and had the same tires "low profile "mounted for $11 each and balanced for $15 each. I would highly encourage people to shop around before using discount tire as they seem to be the type of shop that will take advantage of their unknowledgeable customers on one of the easiest automotive jobs.
