I figured I'd show up before they opened, and see if they could get both my rear tires replaced within a few hours. They opened at 8:00. Bryce checked me in, and offered a good deal on replacing my wiper blades, which I approved. They were done with my tire and wiper replacement by 8:15. No exaggeration. Incapable and dishonest! I asked for a road force balance and they didn't do it. Damaged the wheels to my truck, broke a center cap and still couldn't balance my tires after two or three trips back! I have been a discount tire customer for almost 15 years and I am done with them after this. I shouldn't have to go to another shop and pay them to do what discount was paid to do in the first place! I wanted to share a recent experience I had at Discount Tire here in Kyle that raised some serious concerns. I went in today to get a tire patched due to a screw in my tire. The staff there informed me that there was sidewall damage (in a spot completely away from where the screw was) and refused to patch it, citing safety hazards. They insisted I needed to buy a new tire. When I asked them to speak to my husband on the phone, they refused. They then told me I had to either drive on my spare donut tire or purchase a new tire from them. I felt like they were treating me as just another woman they could scam into buying a new tire. Following my husband's advice, I took the tire and left, heading straight to Costco. At Costco an amazing tire specialist, Jonathan, took a look at my tire and let me know that the screw hadn't punctured my tire at all, and there was no sidewall or any other damage. And there was absolutely no need to purchase a new tire! $300 saved! Just wanted to take a minute to give a shoutout to Jason and Discount Tire for a phenomenal experience on Monday. Showed up for my reserved time slot, walked in and was greeted by Jason within seconds. Minutes later we're out at my truck with 4new tires I got off TireRack.com and 4(TPS) sensors i needed installed. He informed me TRack was part of their company now and sold me on the lifetime replacement insurance and a killer mount/balance deal, with disposal of my worn out tires he checked and verified were bad/needing replacement. Dude talks and moves fast which i love. Reason is because he's so knowledgeable about all there products and knows you got somewhere to be. Seconds later we're at a POS , checked my sensors and said this will be done in an hour. He lied because it wasn't even 40minutes later and there texting me "trucks ready for pickup"...Boom Shackalacka, done son. Truck drives like a dream now , so smooth. I have purchased many sets of tires from Discount Tire and I feel that the service here is getting worse and worse every time I come. I had a low tire on my car today and the young man took me to a register to get my information, and his name was Seth L. Before he could do anything with me, he answered the phone and started a conversation with another customer, and completely ignored me. I stood in front of him for nearly 15 minutes while he was talking on the phone to someone else. I went and sat down and waited for my car tire to be repaired . After about an hour and a half I went to the register to find out what the problem was. One of the associates told me that the the tire had been repaired and it was ready 30 minutes ago, but no one called me to let me know. I asked for the manager and was told he was in a meeting and I could speak to Bryce his assistant manager. Bryce apologized for the inconvenience and said that it is very difficult when you have a lot of customers to take care of all at once and that I was sort of lost in the shuffle. Customer Service is very important to me and I thought it was very important to Discount Tire. I arrived early and saw where they had a meeting for 30 minutes with all the associates prior to opening. I would suggest that at the next meeting they concentrate on customer service and people like myself that spend hundreds of dollars for tires from them. Today made me want to write a review. I apparently ran over a bunch of nails and ended up with nails in three tires, and one of the tires had two nails in it! This could have been very costly. But they were able to repair the tires--at no cost! They were quick and friendly. I have also had to purchase tires in the past, and they have always seemed honest and fair. Had two single tires I bought for my trailer. They happened to have in stock. Had the first one with me. They charged for two of them and because the tire was old they had to be replaced by their recommendation. I paid and they fixed the first one no problem. I went back to my trailer and I removed it and brought it back into shop. Now EJ the "Asst manager" tells me it will be an hour and a half to change the tire on the rim even though I removed it and brought it in! Did not have to be balanced, was not on a vehicle literally a 5min max job! No you have to wait 1 1/2 hours to replace your paid tire from the wait this morning I already waited? I said let's replace it. they did not have it in stock and I had to return cause I'm going out of town and still could not help me with the repair for the meantime. I had some issues with my old tires, ended up needing all 4 replaced. I had my Tesla towed to them, they were very responsive on letting me know when they received my car. I came in and met with Bryce face to face to discuss options. Bryce was extremely helpful in helping me decide on which tire and wheel to select. They took maybe 2 hours with no appointment to get everything finished and I didn't expect them to be that quick. I am blown away with how awesome their customer service was today. I showed up to pick up my car and it's like I had a brand new car again with shinny shoes on. These guys are great, friendly, and most of all knowledgeable about what they're doing. I have asked several times over the past 40 years of buying their products to not overtighten lug nuts. They don't listen. First they use an air-torque wrench that "pops" 3 to 6 times then "check" with a hand ratchet type torque wrench. Any fool knows by then you've over torqued the nut. As I sit here on the side of the road waiting for AAA to send a truck (with compressor) to loosen lug nuts I just thought I'd let y'all know. Btw I'm 6'3"" and 245lb. Excellent service! I came in needing to replace my rear tires. The gentleman gave me a great quote, better than the other places in town who quoted me twice as much! (Btw Christmas is in 3 days, so getting a great deal was important!) I checked in, waited inside my car to avoid gathering in the lobby due to covid, and waited probably 15 min max when they called me back inside to get me set up. I'm sitting in the waiting area and debating whether to continue with the tires, double-check the accuracy of the tires installed, and make sure the lug nuts are tightened, OR ask for a refund and drive to another company. Ridiculous and unkind, are understatements to the experience that we've had at this Discount Tire. To keep it brief they: lied, STOLE, and cheated my elderly mother out a very expensive car part, $750 to be exact. She had gone in to replace a tire that had burst on IH 35 and was helped by the staff. For some reason her 2023 rim was not put back as it should of been and when we returned the very next day to inquire about it, we were given the runaround. We were actually given the runaround for 2 WEEKS until the "manager" told us that it had already been "destroyed" and that that probably had happened 2 weeks prior, they had just failed to let us know. I am assuming they saw my mothers senior age and the fact that she is a female to prey on her. We took her car here to get help from "certified staff" and this was the result in trusting that idea and this place. Discount Tire is a huge corporation, so to first steal and then lie, about their mistake, is not only unprofessional but also a bad investment for any future business. Even if I don't need new tires, they make excellent suggestions and I never like I'm being talked down to or coerced into buying tires. This last time I had three almost new tires and one that was about to get into the danger zone. The advisor suggested replacing the one so all tires would be the same. Last week my tire pressure light went on in my car and I went and got my tires pumped up and checked at my local Discount Tire in Kyle, TX. The young man who did the check suggested that I keep an eye on one tire in particular since it was a bit lower than the rest. This week, my low pressure light came on again and I took my car in for another check and pump up. All tires were OK except the one in question from last week. The young man assisting me asked if I could check in so they could look more closely at the tire and see if there was a nail in it causing the slow leak. It was a busy day for them, but they got me in within an hour, and a young woman in the shop took care of a nail in my tire that could be repaired. I was back on the road again! Super helpful and fast. The only reason I am giving a 4/5 is because I called to set an appointment. I was sick but needed to get tires before a road trip. I was not at all down to sit and wait. So the guy says... "oh no need to set an appointment. Just come in we are slow" When I arrived I waited in line for like 25mins coughing and sneezing all over everyone in line while others who had set an appointment passed me. Kinda an avoidable issue. Finding a screw in my new tires made my heart drop! That's the last thing we want to see when we get off of work. With that being said, the first thing that cake go mind was, call the dealership. After getting of the phone with them, just to hear all the things I didn't want to hear. I called discount. Spoke to Ramon, told him I had a screw and nitro filled tires. He gave me all the information I need on what needed to be done and a rough estimate on the wait in store. Once I arrived and waiting for just a few moments he got me taken care of, with a smile on his face. That's one thing the customer service field is lacking these days. The guys in store were over the top with their customer service skills, explained step by step on what needed to be done, and apologetic about the wait. I've come here twice and both times I received excellent service! The first time I had a bolt lodged in the driverside tire of a new car. I took it in expecting to have to replace the tire entirely, but to my surprise they plugged it for free. They were also very friendly and personable as I waited no time at all for the service despite it being a rather busy afternoon. I dropped in after work one day last week due to low tire pressure. Well, actually, based on the time it took, it was more like a drive-by. This smaller Discount location has fewer bays than the one in San Marcos that I usually visit, but it's got the distinct advantage of being on the flight path with no wasted mileage in the wrong direction. As a consequence of their reduced footprint, unlike their corporate twin to the south, they don't have a bay you can pull in to, that's dedicated to tire pressure checks. Nevertheless, they offer the service for the asking. Their speedy work had me back on the road in under 5 minutes with the issue resolved and without even having to leave my vehicle.
