We have been coming here for years and consistently have a great experience. We cheated on them once and went to a local shop, had a tire defect cause a blowout, and local shop did nothing about it. Also found out they (the other shop) had used a cheap plug on another one of the tires that blew out on the freeway causing a flat tire. Since then, we have not gone anywhere else. Most recently, I took my son's minibike wheel in for a new air stem as the old one rotted off from age. Rep put his gloves on, took it back to the shop, put the new stem on, and brought it back. Less than 5 minutes and didn't even charge me. Just said, "consider us when you need tires". This represents my experience here over the last 10 years. I would say specific to this location, the only downside is how busy they sometimes are...I've gone to the location on Gilbert and Baseline before simply because this shop was so backed up. read more

Not only did they get me in and get my tire patched but they were very polite and professional. I was just at Discount to get a hole in my tire plugged and my tires rotated & the tech accidentally drilled my tire incorrectly and actually took responsibility and I would've been ok with just that and replacing the tire but they found me another used tire with more tread then I had for free! They went above and beyond to help me and in a time when everyone seems crazy they handled this situation the right way and made. Customer for life! I live in North Scottsdale and I drive down to this store for all my tire needs. Jason is the store manager he is extremely friendly and helpful. All of his guys down there are very well trained. My guy I go to is Tyler he is a model employee from the experiences I have had with him. I was so pleased with my experiences down here as I come down here at least once a week bringing company vehicles I contacted corporate offices to tell them how pleased I am. Discount Tire needs more locations like this one where everyone really just gives a Damn! And your best experience is their highest priority. Been going to Discount Tire since I could drive. They are always fast, courteous, helpful, and affordable. This time I called this store to check on prices and compare them to Costco's current deal. I talked to Tyler on the phone and he was very nice and straight-forward. He offered to price match Costco's $70 off Michellin and free installation deal. Even though Costco's deal would have ended that day, he said he would honor it if I came another day as well. I came in on a Tuesday morning with a low tire because of a screw stuck in it, asking for a repair, and to my surprise was told that they would fix it at no charge! This was great because I also needed to have my tires rotated and was concerned with the cost after being hit with some unexpected bills. He (I wish I was better at remembering names) walked out to my truck with me and inspected it, along with the rest of my tires, checking the tread depth and condition. He also asked for the exact mileage on the truck. We went inside and he explained that my tires should still be good for a couple more years, judging by the mileage and the current wear. I liked that he didn't try to sell me something that I didn't need. Unfortunately, a rarity these days. They ended up doing the rotation and balance of all 4 tires, fixed my flat, and replaced the tire pressure sensor while they were at it, for $40 in just over an hour! Best bargain I've gotten in a very long time, and I am a lifelong customer as long as they keep treating their customers this way! read more

I had a maintenance scheduled with my car dealer and told them that one my tires was leaking air. They told me that there was a nail stuck by the sidewall and that they couldn't fix it. That I would need to buy all new tires for my all wheel drive vehicle. The cheapest set would have set me back $683 and it had poor ratings. I just told them to fill the tire with air and I would go straight to Discount Tires when they were done with my car. I was stressed out and not looking forward to having to purchase a new set of tires. I left the dealership and drove straight to Discount Tires just hoping they could get me in without an appointment. Not only did they inspect my car without a long wait, the manager told me that they were going to able to FIX my tire and I didn't need to buy a new set of tires!!! That's not even the best part. The best part was that the repair was free because I bought my tires from them. Nando, Rene and Juan were fast and efficient! The entire team there is amazing! Service with a smile! Showed up at a quarter til eight, doors opened right at eight. They immediately sent out representatives to work with the men waiting with me. I told them what I needed, letting them know it's been a while since I've had to play with my tires (a couple years) , so I wasn't against replacing all four if need be. He actually talked me down to only replacing two, and managed to get some better tires than what I had for around the same price. These guys work their asses off and they work quick. The fact that they were honest enough to let me know I only needed to replace the two tires speaks verses for this place. 5 stars for this place and the people that work here. Wanted to give ZERO STARS. Don't bother making an appointment! I had a 10am appointment but waited in line with everyone else for 30 MINUTES before being seen. I even called while in line to let them know I was there and was told 'We'll get to u as soon as we can'. Spoke with Tim the manager who confirmed Discount Tire has no procedure for customer appointments! Yikes! Why do they even take appointments then!?! Completely unacceptable. This was my first time at this location and I was so impressed. I made an afternoon appointment early this morning for new tires. I walked in and was immediately greeted by a young man (I wish I had gotten his name) at the counter. He pulled up my appointment, checked my car and then informed me I had been upgraded to better tires due to inventory. This location is terrible! We went 3 times for balance issues! We brought out car for it's first balance/rotation. Afterwards, 1 lug was missing, 3 air caps, and the balance was terrible! I had my wife bring it back in a second time, the lug nut was missing, and they still didn't replace the air caps. The final time around, they stated that "valve caps get stolen all the time" and they actually ended up stretching and stripping our stud and offered to replace. Strongly do not recommend! I was imagining the negative review I was going to write about this Discount Tire location. I have bought several sets of tires here, and after the last two I bought, my tire pressure warning system was constantly on, rendering it useless. I asked my mechanic, and it was his opinion that Discount Tire had broken one of my tire pressure sensors when it installed the tires. I was imagining in my mind how I was going to demand that they fix this as I drove up to confront Discount Tire with my problem. I was treated most courteously and the employee came to help me immediately. He had a diagnostic device he used to scan all the tires and said that the sensors were all working. He then said we should check the spare, too. It turned out that my spare, which I had been using just before buying the two new tires, was underinflated. He pumped it up, we re-booted the sensor system, and it worked just fine. Yes, you can say they should have checked the pressure in the spare before putting it back in my trunk. To me, that is a minor oversight, and no company is perfect. What impressed me was the courteous, professional, no-excuses way my complaint was addressed, which I know is the hallmark of a good company--so five stars. read more

This location has customer service issues and depending on who you deal with that day you may be waiting a long time just to get served. Noticed the long line and no one at the counter with everyone outside helping other customers and when they return back they are answering phones instead of attending to the customers. Why? because there may be a sale waiting rather than a tire issue like rotation or a flat. Either way they need to do a much better job at the counter. I will probably use other discount tire locations. Enough is enough. read more

I had a slow leak in my driver rear tire recently. I took it in yesterday (04/09/12) and the manager was nice enough to advise the shop would be closing soon but would check the tire out anyway. I was in and out within 30 minutes. The tech that worked on my vehicle described what he did to repair the small leak in the tire. Everyone was friendly and fast. It gets my vote. read more

I have NEVER had a problem with discount tire. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I went in to get my tires filled up and they informed me that I had a nail and a razor in my rear passenger tire. Worried I was going to have to shell out money I didn't have I asked how long I could get away with the damage (lol I know shame on me.). They told me they do patches for free. They filled up my tires and patched them FOR FREE! I didn't even have to wait for very long. Keep up the great work! read more

This place is awful, I can only imagine the rating is due to the product sold and not the customer service. First the quote for your wait time, better double it. Both times I was quoted a time was almost doubled. I brought my car in in November, due to a nail in my tire that was causing air to leak. When I arrived we went out and looked a the tire, I did have a picture of the nail. The guy found the nail and a screw. My thoughts great they will fix both. When my car was done I asked if they took both the nail and the screw out and was told no air was leaking from the nail. So they left the nail in?? With in the week I notice the tire needed air again. Now fast forward to December quote time 45 minutes to an hour. True wait time an hour and a half. I tell them again about the nail and the tire leaking and the repair I need on my other tire. So, after my wait, time to pay. I again bring up the nail, the man goes to double check to see if they addressed the tire. Guess what?? NO they did not!! Now I'm told the tire has three nails in it. Unbelievable, my car goes back into the bay. Then another man comes in and says your car is ready second times a charm, I do correct him that this is the third time. We walk out together, I ask again did you take all three nails out? I'm then told NO we took out two air wasn't leaking from the other. The customer service here is horrendous! I'm not sure if it lack of knowledge or just dishonesty. I will not return to this location again. read more

WOW!!! Today we discovered our vehicle's tire had a screw rammed in it. My husband removed the tire and took it to a tire store, but was advised it absolutely could NOT be fixed. He then went to Discount Tire. They took the tire in the back, and while he waited, not knowing if they could repair it or not, he said their customer service was EXCELLENT with every person that they dealt with.
