Kevin was able to fix that for me no problem, and was just real easy to talk to. He didn't have to do that (i.e. just could have given us the offer item), but he went out of his way for us. Yesterday my daughter and I popped in for dinner. They were out of homemade chips, which is totally understand able, but the girl said if you want another side there will be an up charge. I just kind of stool there thinking, ok yall are out of the side that comes with it but you want to "up charge" for another side? So we paid and immediately, and I'm not being a karen I swear, but immediately we noticed the place was filthy. Like disgusting. Food on the floors, seats stained with food, doors to the bathroom had like black gunk from where people have pushed them open time and time again, and they've never been cleaned. Food: The shrimps and grits were good but different. The sauce was not my favorite but it worked. I also ordered the fried grit balls and the breading was terrible and just too dry. My boyfriend had the brisket bowl and he enjoyed it. We also ordered the beignets. He thought they were fire but if you don't like coffee then these are not for you (I don't like coffee) Service: I ordered for pick up and my boyfriend went to get it and He said the staff was nice. However, hours later they called stating they never charged him (he thought I paid already) and asked that we pay (we did) but thought it was weird that they would give him an order without paying. I went last night and am confident I got food poisoning from the grilled chicken I added to the veggie grain bowl. It tasted a little off when I bit into it but I consumed because I normally have a good experience with Dish Society. I can forgive restaurants for food issues if they're willing to show some empathy or take some accountability for it. I emailed Dish Society to let them know what happened only to receive a response from the owner that read: At this time, you are the only guest who has contacted us with concerns related to anything consumed at our restaurant. Our team conducts thorough product quality and temperature checks every four hours throughout the day, and we've confirmed that all checks yesterday, including for our chicken, were within compliance. Food safety is something we take very seriously, and we want to ensure we investigate this as thoroughly as possible. Do you happen to have any known food allergies or sensitivities? For example, soy is a common sensitivity, and both our grilled and fried chicken may come into contact with shared surfaces that contain soy. While they did express sympathy that I was sick, I was genuinely taken aback by how dismissive the response felt. The implication that my experience was invalid because no one else reported being sick--and the suggestion that a food allergy might explain what happened, rather than anything on their end--was frustrating. It's not just about the food. It's about how you treat your customers when something goes wrong. This experience left me disappointed in a place I used to enjoy. read more

We dine in 3/8/2025 and the store assistant manager Desiree is terrible. We sat down for less than 10 minutes to discuss menu with my handicapped sister and 83 year old mom. She told us if we don't order immediately, we need to give away our table. There was no way that I was going to sit inside, so we opted the patio, which too was surrounded by people. We ordered the French toast, fish tacos, and an egg white omelet with potatoes. Overall the items tasted good. Potatoes were seasoned and the omelet was flavorful. The French toast also had a lot of flavor with powdered sugar, cinnamon powder and Nutella topped. We did an online order along with drive up, the entire service was perfect with no glitch. We got chicken pesto sandwich, shrimp and grits, southern breakfast skillet, 2 quesadillas and the Houston hot chicken sandwich. Quesadilla was from the kids menu and was still so dry and rough. Stuffing inside had just chicken which was also pretty bland. Probably not favorite for most of the kids. 2 stars for the quesadillas. The food was good although my portion seemed very small. It had a couple of leaves of arugula, a couple of pieces of broccoli and a couple of pieces of cauliflower. The bowls I observed while walking to my table definitely had more food on them. Restaurants need to stop making portions based on who's ordering. Service staff were courteous and food came out fast. I had the fried smoked gouda grit balls, and the smoked salmon avocado toast. The grit balls were not warm but tasted good. I love the smoked salmon toast. It was one slice of bread cut into half (triangle), topped with the layers of dill and onion cream cheese, avocado, smoked salmon, then the tomato, red onion, and arugula. So this place was awesome but lacking customer service - it was more like herding cattle- you have to order then tip and you don't even get to tip based on service because ours wasn't good. The food we ordered the eggs were supposed to be over easy they were over hard we couldn't get a servers attention to return it. The literally were hosting people like cattle! "Go there place your order get a number sit where you want". That's exactly what we were told the girl taking my order was mad because she messed up the order initially and when she read it back I corrected her and she said "now I have to do it all over" with attitude and an eye roll. If you hate your job work work elsewhere... note to Management you never know who's is in your restaurant- we are all going through it with the pandemic but at least tell your employees to not be rude and smile you can see that through a mask read more

For the month of December, kids eat free with the purchase of an adult meal. The kids loves the quesadillas and also the popcorn shrimp. They also munch on my pesto pasta which was deliciously divine. We still have a couple more days until the end of December so we will definitely be coming back for more! The pickled onions made this dish. I would certainly order this again. (It would be great with a soft egg on top if you're listening Dish.) We also tried the pear and arugula sandwich. The dishes are visibly smaller, less hearty, and less healthy. I understand the need to cut costs, but I've been eating here for years so hard to get used to the change. I still love the space. Lunch at the Dish society never disappoints! Stopped in today for brunch and ordered a pancake with bacon and coffee for myself and my daughter ordered the Chicken Pesto Sandwich. The pancake is very large so I ordered a single , but you can order a double stack as well. They top it with berries and a dusting of powdered sugar. I asked for mine without the powdered sugar and they were happy to oblige. My daughters sandwich looked like a photo from a magazine and was served with delicious homemade potato chips. Who doesn't like that? She said the sandwich was as good as it looked and I had some of the chips which were to die for good. The food is ordered from a counter and they give you an number, collect your beverages and then head out to select a table. They have a very nice patio with outdoor seating and indoor seating as well. We chose a seat inside in a banquette. The food came out quickly and was nice and hot. We really enjoyed our meal and the best part is that it is so convenient to shop afterwards with so many wonderful stores nearby like Teal Poppy boutique and Kendra Scott and Pandora. So after ordering their famous pancakes with berries on top it came raw not cooked from the inside and with only one raspberry on to and just RAW like not even cooked.
