Funny how the little service they do provide seems to decline every time I visit. Not sure how it's possible? If you can disregard that, the food consistently meets or exceeds expectations so I keep going... I came here to eat with my sister. I love the location and it was a really nice day out so we sat outside. They have a nice patio section. I was craving breakfast and they serve it all day! I was pretty excited about that. I ordered the traditional breakfast. I substituted the fruit for grits and the toast for a pancake. The food was really delicious! The pancake was amazing! I wasn't a huge fan of the grits, but the rest of the food was great! The music here was perfect! Every song that came on was a favorite song of mine. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. All of the staff had smiles on their faces and gave awesome customer service! They gave good recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed to eat. Lots to unpack here. I can't really say enough good about this place. I expected it to be pretty comparable to most of the industrial-modern-farmhouse-style restaurants in the area who provide a nice (yet predictable) atmosphere and don't put a lot of effort into their food. I. Was. Wrong. First, the food is amazing. It hit all the points most places usually miss. The Gouda grits we ordered were all kinds of perfect. They were not too much of anything and just enough of everything. Creamy. Cheesy. Thick. I'm drooling as I think of them. My southwest scramble totally blew me away. The potatoes are an unexpected star of the dish - tiny, perfectly crispy and plentiful. I can't think of a better breakfast potato I've had in recent (or distant) memory. Everything else that came with it was perfect - black beans, cojota cheese, bell pepper, egg, avocado. Gosh, it was swell. We also had a breakfast sandwich on a scratch made biscuit . The spicy jam that comes with it is pretty special. Again, just enough of everything and not too much of anything. The service here is also pretty spectacular. No less than 4 different people (including someone I assume was a manager or something similar) came to our table to greet us and ask if we needed anything as well as to make sure our food was exactly the way we wanted it. There's even a sign at every table with a local number you can text about your experience. They get it right on all points with the service in my opinion. The pesto chicken, the tomato was soggy so that was disappointing. The brisket was pretty good, the eggs looked and taste fresh. The biscuits and jam were delish. Fries was over salty. Everything was absolutely delicious! Our two year old loved the chicken strips and they came on a kid friendly yellow plate. I might have snuck a few bites of her tenders too because they were some of the best I've ever had. We also ordered the pretzels and queso, pesto pasta, and the chicken ancho bowl. I do not know what it is about this location. I have been to several others in the greater Houston area and have never been disappointed. However, here, at the location closest to me, I have been consistently underwhelmed. I have visited three times, each visit with a negative experience. Came here tonight for the first time with my puppy and a friend. Our server was Eric, who was super sweet and extremely helpful and kind. He recommended my plate for me and our appetizer as well, was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, and was super kind to my puppy. I haven't been here before but his service makes me want to return. If you come here ask for Eric! We had the spicy lettuce wraps as an appetizer and I had the pecan pesto pasta. Found myself at Dish Society again and noticed a new menu. Glad for the change up and the addition of soups like I suggested! However, the food is still meh here. It does look pretty. Walked in at a weird hour 3-4 pm and no one was at the honest station. Several waiters/bar tenders but no one said anything. Eventually when a line formed behind us, I went and found a waiter to seat us. The hot chicken sandwich is pretty and tastes ok. Not spicy at all though. Also, the chips are bland. The pot pie deconstructed looked really awesome but was so weird. It tasted sour. The waiter and kitchen said it was suppose to be sour, but they could make a new batch. I personally have never had a sour pot pie but ok. We declined and they ended up comping it which was nice. read more

It's a wonderful place to eat outdoors since there is more seating outside than in. So if you have little ones, they'll like it. Besides, they have Nutella and jelly sandwiches in the menu. Pretty much a hit with any child. Food was okay for the most part. The biscuits were tough and I ordered an Apple pecan salad. It looked like they just took the huge leaves from a core and plated it. Can't decide if this is how it's normally plated or if it's because they were hiding the rotten, black leaves on the underside of this salad. Pretty damn disgusting considering the price point and location to serve rotten vegetables. I got it replaced with a Cobb salad, which was ok. The server we had was skittish (we aren't scary ppl!) and didn't do anything other than deliver the food. This place overall was just ok. The food was just ok. This is one of my FAVORITE spots in the area for healthier food options and the BEST breakfast/brunch. I've been (and ordered delivery) dozens of times now, and I'm never disappointed with the service or food. They have an amazing patio and outdoor seating which is perfect for people watching and letting kids play outside. The inside is a little smaller, but they do have a small bar with TVs and beers on tap. We recently came and had a great experience with Alex. She was super friendly and efficient, which is pretty important when you're 39 weeks pregnant Loved her service! I will say a heads up, it can be pretty busy/long lines during their brunch hours but they're quick and get your food out in good time. Def one of my faves spots!!! read more

I really want to like this place. Every time we've been the food was great and the servers were incredibly kind and helpful. On my last visit, however, my chicken was undercooked (almost raw, very pink in the middle) and the manager was, to put it kindly, less than concerned. Didn't do much to help other than apathetically offer to make the dish again (which was nice, I guess, but raw chicken tends to ruin your appetite). So we went there at opening time to get some breakfast. All the technology in the world says they open at 8, so at 8:15 we walk up and the chairs are set up outside, but it seems dead inside. Could be open or closed, lots of businesses changed their hours right? Well according to all the signage 8am is still the opening time. We get to the door and try to open it and it's locked, which I guess is slightly irritating but whatever. So we look around to try and find any explanation or when they *will* be opening only to find the male bartender with blonde highlights about 10 feet away look at us, look away and shake his head and ignore us. Feel free to check the cameras. Now, I've worked at restaurants so I know it sucks when there's a line out the door before you open. But at the same time, if it's 2 people 15-20 mins after your hours of operation begin maybe you should offer some sort of explanation or put in any literally any effort all. Perhaps if you don't want to deal with customers at 8am you should go find a job that opens at 11. I'm sure there are many other qualified people who need jobs right now. We could feel your attitude through the glass. We tried calling to see if there was a mistake on our end, but all we got was a 45 minute lecture from a pre-recorded line about what Dish Society is doing to prevent the spread of COVID. Like anybody really cares. We already know what every one is doing. Never got to speak to a person. There was also a server girl, who was nowhere to be found but somehow delivered a to-go order to another car as we were leaving..? So make of that what you will. Excellent Service and AMAZING food! This isnt our first time here but it was my first time trying the Coffee Crusted Pork and I had their Brussel Sprouts too... OMG they were so good! My husband had the same meal but woth the greens and he used the "Houston Sauce" hot sauce at the advice of Carlos our server and he said that just made it even more enhanced flavor with some heat. We decided to do brunch for my husbands birthday. We were a little late for breakfast, but the staff was so nice and they were able to make us breakfast. We came here last year for our anniversary brunch and here again for his birthday. The manager (I believe that is who he was) was absolutely a delight. First time at the location. Reasonable amount of seating. Really bad design of having the line to order food and get drinks right next to each other. Bathroom was awful. The smell was terrible and of course no paper towels. The food was lackluster. I could have had the same thing at dozens of place done light years better. The omelette was okay at best. Very small portions for the price. And the sweet potato rosemary mess they served was cold and very unappealing. The chicken biscuits and gravy also not not very well made. The biscuit just crumbled apart. Super dry. All in all. Not a good experience. I'll travel for something better. After several months to a year and not much has changed with the exception that it's much much dirtier. Had to leave because my wife was instantly sick. Ultimately walked out. We sat for bar service on a Saturday late in the morning. Overall experience was great. The service staff were very friendly and helpful with questions we had about the menu and item alterations. Though that specific day was not super busy, service seemed a bit chaotic. Could also be because we chose to sit at the bar. I don't remember particularly if they had alternative milk options, but if they didn't, it think adding more would be beneficial since it's a popular alternative preference for coffees. As mainly a breakfast and brunch place, their menu is quite diverse. Sometimes it can be hard to choose what to eat when overwhelmed by the menu choices. Appetizers: Ordered the pretzel & queso appetizer and the truffle mac n cheese shells. Both were good, pretzel and queso was better of the two. Entrees: Ordered the steak tacos with brussel sprouts - amazing. The tacos were messy as the pesto sauce kept dripping, so make sure you get extra linens to protect your clothes. My friend had the Texas Pecan Pesto Pasta with goat cheese. I tasted that and it was good as well. Dessert: I ordered the fried apple pie that came ala mode. This place is not what it looks like. First thing i noticed were the literally brown lime slices in the "get your own stuff" area. They did replace them when I asked. We had ordered already or I would have walked out then. Next i went to restroom. Large old smeared hand print on door that really grossed me out. Food: Grilled chicken breast was over marinated in salt, not juicy, not tender, and i did not eat it. My sister did not eat hers either. I ordered mashed sweet potatoes on the side. It was canned sweet potatoes, no doubt. Everything was over priced, menu very confusing, and not worth eating. So disappointed. Their website listed the happy hour as an hour earlier than the restaurant stated but when we showed them the time listed on their site they honored it. That's good customer service.
