We've always enjoyed this restaurant and had another good meal here today -- the food was great, the prices reasonable, and the service above average. However, the posted sign was disappointing and inflammatory. Please don't claim to respect our rights while simultaneously denying them. Unfortunately, we won't be returning given this decision to so openly disregard personal freedoms. Additionally, please clean out the drain holes next to seats that have garbage in them. Great experience! From the outdoor seating upstairs, to good food and great service, it was a warm afternoon, but the huge fans took the edge off! Burgers, wings and Ruebens were all good and the homemade chips were tasty! Let's start with fabulous smoked old fashion for the hubby and passion fruit mojito. The cheese curds are HUGE (and delicious) with Cajun ranch. I had the poke tuna nachos appetizer as my meal and it was literally one of the best things I've ever eaten. Hubby had the Bayou pasta and it was very rich and he loved it. For Fathers Day, I was taken to District Bar & Kitchen in downtown Ocala for their brunch service. We walked in promptly at 11 am when they opened and were immediately seated downstairs (inside), passing on the upstairs (outside). Cody, our server, promptly took our drink order. Our first visit, and Cody did a phenomenal job taking us thru everything on the menu. He even circled back with a great Dad-joke. The salmon burger was delicious, the chicken B.L.A.T. was good, the Southern Comfort breakfast was great and Caesar salad was outstanding. The food came out very fast and perfectly prepared. The place filled up pretty fast, so getting there early is a good idea. read more

We sat at the bar. I asked for cherries in my Coke, didn't get. I ordered a District Burger ($20), that is supposed to have caramelized onions... it had 3 little slivers on a double cheeseburger. Not happy as a pile of caramelized onions is what I ordered that burger for! Disappointed. read more

Wanted to eat in Downtown Ocala and hadn't been here yet. We sat inside because it was a bit warm and humid on a Tuesday night in July. Promptly greeted and ordered drinks and an appetizer. Highly recommend the Reuben Egg Rolls my husband enjoyed his burger and my salmon was perfectly medium rare as requested. I wanted to love the brussel sprouts but they were SO salty, I just couldn't eat them. Did enjoy the grits. They make a good Old Fashioned too. We have been so excited to try this place and decided to have hubster's birthday dinner here. They have not been officially open too long but everything on Yelp looked good. We arrived at 8pm and requested a table for 2 at the hostess stand. We were told it would be about a 5-10 minute wait so we sat. There was a lot of traffic going upstairs but we were unsure if there was a difference regarding where you sat. The hostess informed us the table was ready and had someone seat us with menus. Our server, Caitlyn (I think), greeted us with water within 5 minutes of being seated. We put in our drink order and reviewed the menu. Both my husband and I were interested in the District Burger so when our server asked what we would like, that is what we ordered. Soon after, another server brought our drinks over. For simple drinks, they were both very good. Our food was delivered about 10-15 minutes later. Caitlyn came by to check on us soon after our food arrived (I am big on timing with all those years in the industry lol) and I requested the District sauce, which she brought right over. OMFG!!!!!!! It went so well with the burger!! Even though the burger consists of 2 smash patties, they were much larger than other smash patties I have had elsewhere. Come 8:45pm, our server came by and dropped the check. Hubs and I were very confused because everywhere we looked, closing time was 10pm. The plan was to get another round of drinks and maybe a birthday dessert for hubs. The staff cleared out the place within 10 minutes. I was so disappointed because we thought we had more time. If the downstairs closed earlier than the upstairs, then the host should have informed us of that before having us wait for a table to be rushed in 35 minutes. Situated in a charming downtown area with beautiful architecture. Look forward to going back just to walk around and explore what the downtown Ocala district has to offer. We both ordered the DBK smashburgers. They were a little salty but everything was delicious and exactly as ordered. The staff was nice, attentive and accurate. They took our, somewhat customized, orders in stride and what we were brought correctly reflected what we wanted. The inside was small but uncluttered. They have an excellent flow throughout the whole place. Had an upstairs balcony that was hopping and outside street seating too. Would recommend and we look forward to going back. read more

Great restaurant I've been there twice already. My wife has been there three times. Tuna nachos are outstanding drink. Menu is great reasonably priced and the upstairs patio is an awesome place to people watch downtown. The only issue I had is that the service upstairs seems to be a little slower and maybe that's because of the dumb waiter that they have to use to bring the food upstairs But it's all good. Small pub with about a dozen tables inside and open air rooftop. Service was okay...nothing great or impressive. The food was meh...again nothing great or memorable. I had the district burger which was just like any other pub burger. My wife has the pizza which is not your typical pie. It is a big loaf of bread with sauce and cheese. Nice addition to the downtown Ocala scene. We stopped in for Brunch on a Sunday and sat on the upper deck area. Nice area with bar and on that day a musician playing some brunch type of songs. Both of use had their Bloody Mary that has a Guinness Stout floater. My wife opted for their burger while I had their version of a Cobb style salad. Both were presented nicely and were tasty. We stopped in town on to look for some lunch/brunch and ended up in downtown Ocala. I think it's the first time either of us has been there before. Plenty of shops and restaurants. Being Sunday, not much was open besides most restaurants, so that worked out great. We couldn't really make up our minds, but we happened to walk past the district bar and it looked great. You can see the upstairs which is all open seating and looked like some live music. It was a beautiful day, not very hot, so that was great. We were seated upstairs, nice little view of downtown. It's very clean, plenty of tv's for football. The staff were all friendly and help. Everything looked great on the menu, looking around at the food coming out and people eating looked great as well. This time we both decided to just keep it simple and had the egg brunch. 2 eggs, cheese grits and bacon and toast. No real complaints, the grits were cheese-tastic, very good. My wife isn't really a fan of grits, but she kept sneaking bites of it. The bacon was great, we didn't try the million dollar bacon, but I'm familiar with the concept and was just looking for simple this time around. Overall, the place is great, very nice and relaxing. The guy playing guitar and singing was a nice topper. Great little addition to a relaxing Sunday. The food did take a little long, but I think we showed up right at the peak time and everyone was ordering at the same time. It is definitely on our list of places to stop in when we're in the area.
