District H has been my go to since a couple of months as its right next to my apartment and everytime I go here I am amazed by the variety of asian snacks, drinks, noodles etc . They have a great selection, the produce is fresh and the staff is very well organised and polite. Its is not a very big space but each section here is organised and easy to access . District H has a decent variety of asian food and it's also in a convenient location. Food at the dine-in food court section is quite average, it's not worth it. Staff here are polite and welcoming. But there are more than one occasion where their product quality was off. First case was with the House soon tofu soup kit - there were a whole bunch of the packets that were a few weeks past the expiration date. I let the staff know immediately and he started taking them off the shelf to put them away, so that was good. The second incident happened today - I bought some gobo (burdock root) without checking the dates, and after cooking them I realized the package said it was either packed on or good until12/4/24 (today is 1/21/25. See the picture attached). Burdock root lasts a really long time so I could still use it, but I think this is still too old for it to be sold like regular produce at regular price. I think District H should get on top of maintaining their inventory. They should be doing better than this. read more

District H is like a smaller version of H-Mart with lots of ready-to-eat options as soon as you enter the door- great for city dwellers making a quick stop. I was excited to check out all the prepackaged to-go foods so that I could have a quick meal before exploring more of the SLU area. There were croquettes, fried chicken, kimbap, etc, lots of hot and cold items. I noticed a lot of the hot items had dripping condensation on the inside of the top of the packaging... weirded me out a bit. I picked a katsu pork meal that looked dry and very crispy. I walked around the rest of the store. It had a good variety packed into a smaller space, so I thought that was cool. It also had a food court that looked a little... unmanaged? There were barely any workers but a couple people eating. The food looked good, but I didn't eat there. Also picked up a couple chips with flavors I'd never seen before. The cashier was friendly. There is a nice little eating area by the windows, which I took advantage of. The pork katsu meal was... lackluster. It wasn't crispy AT ALL... what the heck? It's weird how crispy the breading looked, but it was all mush. I know it was sitting in a package but I thought it would at least be somewhat crunchy. Also, there was way too little sauce for the pork. Something in either the sauce or the pork was a little tangy in an off way. The rice was alright... there were some really hard pieces on the bottom that I had to be careful not to bite too hard down on. Overall, the prices were a bit high for what you get, food was ok, but the place is interesting. It might be better for someone who lives nearby for the convenience, and the fact that they can try different Asian foods on the go, even if it's not the greatest of quality. read more

Wow, what a gem! We walked by the store the other day, and saw the food court. Decided to have dinner here tonight. Service was really fast and friendly. There were plenty of tables and chairs to sit. You get a buzzer, and when the food was ready you went to pick them up. All our food was very yummy. The udon was perfect in texture. The ribs were extremely tasty. If you want you can also do the grab and go and eat at the food court or take home. There are lots of food to choose. The store itself is a smaller version of HMart. I think consider it's location and size, the price is reasonable, and the store is well stocked. We are glad to have found this store. Highly recommend. read more

I'm in Seattle for a work trip and I have to RESTRAIN myself from coming here to eat for every. meal. The food is so tasty and some of the prepared stuff gets a 20% markdown after 17:00. I recommend going to the downstairs soup/soondubu dish place & trying their jjamppong, especially if you love mussels (they have a crap ton of mussels in theirs). I also recommend their fried chicken (and I'm not even a big fried chicken girly tbh). I also loved their tteokbokki. This is a great place to get Asian food for lunch! I really like the hot bar. There are lots of options like tteobokki, sashimi, chirashi bowl, kalbi ribs, bulgogi, fried rice, fried chicken, kimchi fried rice. The chirashi is not the best chirashi ever, but it's good for grocery store chirashi. Note: Plastic bag cost 8 cents, so if you don't want to pay that make sure you bring your own The service is good. There's not usually a line to pay when I go for a workday lunch, but if there is one, they move through people very quickly so I never feel like I'm waiting too long. The inside is small, but they pack a lot of options for hot food, drinks, snacks, and groceries. It's also connected to a bakery next door, which I like to browse as well. read more

Conveniently located and a great spot to grab some Korean food and Asian goods! Glad this spot is here in SLU! Everything is fine there but the security guard intimidates and follows patrons. The older gentleman (security guard) will follow you and approach you demanding you use a store basket or cart instead of your own reusable shopping bag. Is there a sign posted that states you must use their shopping carts or baskets while shopping? He approaches and insinuates you're shoplifting while you're STILL actively shopping in the store and nowhere near an exit. For someone who would never shoplift in their life, it's extremely disconcerting and intimidating. Bad for business. read more

I think I would give this 3.5 stars if I could. The biggest plus of this store is how convenient it is. The downsides are the prices (definitely geared towards Amazon employees, which I am not) and the limited selection. District H is like a mini version of H mart, so it's not enough for a full grocery haul but great if you need a couple items. And the snack selection is on point! The food court is super good too. Most items are between $10-15 with huge portions, so it's a great deal! I got the cheesy fire chicken and it so good and flavorful - and the portion was enough for 2 meals for me. This one was conveniently located near my hotel, however, the H-Marts where I am from (NJ) are Much better and bigger. We are back in Seattle and we had to make it a point to stop here at the first opportunity-- this was one of our favorite places during our last trip just due to the sheer convenience near our rental and their selection of Asian specialty foods. We picked up some canned food, fruit, and snacks as usual at a reasonable price. Customer service was also great. So the only thing 1 star was the food. The store itself, the staff, everything else was FINE. 5 stars for them! But I tried the ramen there and unfortunately the tonkatsu broth didn't taste like pork broth and it smells like the gas from the stove if that makes sense? The egg was also boiled through that the yolk solidified but that's okay, an easy overlook. The pork was grilled (there's also grill marks) and the pork was the only thing that had flavor so I really liked it! It's only a 1 star mostly due to the broth and the smell it gave which sucks because it's probably a bad batch but I just couldn't finish it. Stopped by for late lunch and was fascinated by the selection. This is a grocery store stocked with Asian products but also fresh food prepped for takeout during COVID. I picked up water(heatwave) and 2 dishes I watched being cooked. The Teriyaki Chicken plate was really good. The teriyaki was a light touch instead of the cloying over sweet popular option. It was served with a cup of roasted vegies and white rice. The 2nd plate I ordered was fried rice with Kimchee and it is served with a fried egg on top. I've never tried anything like it. You can tell the locals rely on this spot as the pace had a steady customer stream. I would be there regularly too if I had the opportunity. There is a nice exterior courtyard to relax and enjoy your takeout. read more

Went here as I heard it was more of an 'upscale' experience for H Mart...and they have a warm food cook-to-order area. I'm not an H Mart frequenter so forgive if these are also available at the bigger markets... This one had the 'ice cups' that are all over Korean convenience stores you see from Instagram/TikTok folks. It's quite the expensive cup of ice to be honest ($1.99) but the experience is good and if you are eating there and grab a 'bag o' beverage' then yeah you're gonna need something. I got a hazelnut coffee and added banana milk to it...yum. My son got some prepared orange chicken/rice and said it was pretty good...fast and ready. I went with the spicy cheesy hot chicken dish from 'The Bop' station lower level. It was really good and a lot. Great flavor, good portion, and nice and warm on the cold day we went. We both enjoyed our food experience (son got a donut from the bakery and said was really good...didn't offer me any The environment for something advertised as more 'upscale' -- just...wasn't. Friendly staff, but definitely just felt like a super market. The sitting area for eating was just around a few places that just looked closed? And the fried chicken station was closed, but just kinda looked disheveled, so really -1 for the general vibe for me. And it was FREEZING in there. I know it was cold in Seattle this day, but we felt like we were in a freezer...it wasn't really much warmer inside than it was outside. Will go back? I don't think I'd drive there from where I live again, but if you live/work downtown, it's probably a no-brainer to get your Korean/Asian food fixes and a quick bite. Please ask for your receipt. This is how they increase their bottom line by adding items to your receipt. This morning Thursday August 22th 2024. Thier most experience cashier noticed that I was not paying attention while looking for my card. At the end I asked for my receipt to put into my bag. When I arrived home, I noticed my bill came to $30.03 when it supposed to be around $11.00. Receipt is not automatic like all other grocery stores; you ask for it. My boyfriend and I decided to come here after work to check out their hot foods and was fairly impress at everything: service, price and quality. Service: the people was super helpful in telling us what the ingredients were in each food. My boyfriend also accidently grabbed the wrong thing and they were willing for us to change after we paid for it. Food: Surprisingly, what ordered turn out to be really good. We got the calamari with rice bowl, a platter of fried food (shrimp tempura, croquette, etc), dumplings and soup. We also got the corn. Everything was pretty good. PRice: because we came later in the day, all the food we got was 30% off. The original price was pretty decent in the first place, but with the 30% off, it was even better. I haven't been to H Mart, but I saw an article about District H opening in SLU so I had to swing by during its opening weekend. Upon entering, you're immediately greeted with the sight and smells of their prepared hot food grab and go area. That's right, you can pick up pre-made meals, sides, and smaller bites (ex: fish cake skewers). As you walk deeper into the store, on the left is the check-out area (where you pay for any items from the hot food area you just left and any items you may get in the aisles in the store) and to the right is a grill station as well as seating for any items you may want to enjoy afterwards. There are a few microwaves too, for those who need their items hotter. Go down the small set of stairs and you'll get to the little bakery that is not affiliated with the main register/check out area upstairs. The bakery has smaller sweets, variety of breads, and even cakes. I've been to District H twice now, and it seems like they're still trying to find their rhythm (training staff on the registers, stocking, etc.) but I think once everything gets ironed out it'll truly be a go-to hub. So far, I'm a fan of their hot grab and go prepared meals, and their udon packets. Do try to bring your own shopping bag, not only to be environmentally friendly but because they often only have paper bags without handles available. Their bags, handled and not, are pretty flimsy so those who have a long walk and/or will have a lot of items you've been warned. Tips: -Street parking looks pretty terrible, and the store is located on a hill -The store is at the top of a hill, and there isn't an easy spot for Uber/Lyft to drop off or pickup. Still doable, but may be a bit challenging for those who need added assistance -The bakery area gets pretty cleared out (especially their breads) towards the end of the day. So if you're set on a certain item, try to go earlier to avoid running out read more

District-H was hyped up to be the more upscale, boujee version of HMart, so I went in expecting everything to be priced ludicrously, but they're not TOO bad. Since it's the closest and most accessible spot for Asian groceries to me, it's the most convenient to shop at. The people working there at the cash registers and food stations are really friendly, and welcoming. Everytime I've gone in, they're constantly restocking the shelves, so nothing is ever out, except for the hot food and prepped food station at the front, that can run low or out during peak hours or at night. I came in one time during lunch, and literally EVERYONE was on their lunch break. It was so hectic and crazy, with people bumping shoulders and looking confused on how to use the ipads to make an order. The system is actually pretty effective. You order on the pad, get a number, and go to the food station that you ordered from, and wait for them to call. I expected to be waiting a long time for food, but it took about 5-10 minutes, which is NOT bad for the amount of people who were packed in the store, it was like being in an Asian marketplace aboard all over again. Overall, I liked the food I ordered for lunch. The kimbap was rolled properly and was much larger than expected. The rice cakes (ddukbokki) came in a large cup, and was really spicy. I thought it looked a bit watery, but my mouth was on fire halfway through. I love spicy rice cakes, so the spice was not a deterent, and the cup had fish cakes inside as well! Aside from the hot food, I've purchased baked goods from the Tous Le Jours inside, and they're delicious! If you come late enough, they mark some things down so you can get them for a lower price. They had hot foods you could grab and go. Very big beer and alcohol selection. Good section on things for like hotpot and Korean bbq at home! This place has given me soooo much convenience in grab and go selections when I'm too lazy to cook and last minute clutch grocery items that I greatly appreciate its existence. While not a full fledged supermarket, it has all the essentials (ehh, like snacks hahahaha). Whole Foods is right across the block for more selections of fresh produce. I have almost finished working my way through the selection of hot foods. The food is of grocery level quality so don't expect anything superb like in a restaurant. The main items are decent, but the rice can be a super hit or miss, ranging from undercooked rice to starchy rice to sometimes soggy rice. It does give a quick fix of Korean food and to an extent Japanese food at a relatively low cost, especially if you go around dinnertime where all the hot foods and some cold foods are 30% off! Next to District H is the Tous Les Jours bakery and there are some kitchens that cook up Korean fried chicken from BBQ chicken. So many goodies in one location that makes it so easy to overspend! read more

This place is pretty bad, please check all your items to make sure they are not expired. Have purchased vegetables and meats here a few times that were well over the expiration date with mold on the veggies. We live close to this place so it's continent, but will never purchase groceries from here again. Advise anyone who does to check all items for expiration dates. read more

Tonkotsu ramen had creamy, flavorful broth! It was weird though that they had spinach in the ramen, and the noodles itself weren't that good, but I also liked that the outside of the meat was charred and had a good chew (though my boyfriend wasn't a huge fan of the meat or the ramen here). read more

This is our go to spot when either my boyfriend or I crave jjampong. It always satisfies our craving for spicy noodle soup and comes with that deep umami and wok taste. The toppings seem to vary a little bit, so I find myself enjoying it more some days over others. It does seem like the food court here is still trying to figure out their strategy. The hours are pretty limited so it's definitely a lunch or super early dinner kind of spot. Ordering logistics used to be painfully confusing, but seems like they've streamlined it to a single register. They've also updated their menu to be a bit more simple and are leaning into the ramen concept. Jjampong is now called "spicy seafood ramen." Today the broth tasted less spicy and slightly creamier, but they still use the same thick noodles and it hit the spot. Service is hit or miss. Since it is food court style, I'd feel comfortable coming here alone for a quick meal. Their other stuff is great too, I really like the hot stone pot bibimbap options! read more
