The jury's still out on this place. I'm definitely going to give them another try because I suspect that they've got a number of good dishes. Everything I saw certainly looked good. Since it was my first time there I did their appetizer sampler and their claypot, thinking that I would have to use takeout boxes for the extras. The appetizers were pretty tasty but they were almost too perfect-looking. I'm not sure whether the fried stuff might have come from a big bag they bought at costco. My apologies if I'm wrong. The claypot was yuck. True, I'm used to vietnamese claypot, slow cooked until the onions and broth carmelize the rice. Maybe they do it different in Thailand? This was just fluffy rice scooped into a claypot with lightly stirfried chicken and vegetables in a sauce poured on top. It just didn't seem like an effort was made. The worst thing was that the claypot dish smelled like pee. Not kidding you. Smelled like urine. I took a few bites and had to stop because it grossed me out. I'm not sure what the flavoring was and maybe the problem was just me. Since it's very possible that this dish was very authentic and it's just to me, I'm not going to dock them any stars for that. I just need to be honest that it made me very uncomfortable. I promise that I'll be going back and trying a few other dishes. I'll be happy to upgrade my review after a more positive experience. No, this is not a "jack-o-lantern" type pumpkin, but a squash that was very similar in texture and flavor to a sweet potato. The red curry sauce it was served with was awesome. Started off with the fried tofu, and saved most of it to dip in the pumpkin curry sauce...large dish of tofu by the way. Ordered the Pad Ka Kraw, "drunken noodle" in my local Thai joint, and the flat noodles with pork, basil, and spicy gravy was awesome!! Service AND food was much improved this time and based on my second experience, I *will* be back. They got my order right and it tasted great. My family and I got hungry after atv and wanted some Thai food. Surprisingly, there were a lot of Thai food around the area. We were on the way to sister but missed the turn so we went to divine instead. Divine is on the corner and the place looked pretty janky. Parking wasn't too shabby, and wasn't hard to park, there were street parking available too. Service was ok. Our waitress didn't speak English very well so we had a tough time trying to get our message thru. She was always smiling though so it was hard to get mad/frustrated. It took them a really long time to clean our table, and awhile for them to get us water and order food. Food came out really slow. Felt like they were short staffed due to the wait. We ordered chicken egg roll but we couldn't even taste any chicken. The Thai dumpling was like dim sum but wasn't bad. Our steam mussels were delicious. Too bad they didn't give us the spice condiments bc I feel like it would taste 10 times better. We also had sweet Thai salmon, salmon was on the dryer side but the sauce was good to taste. Taste like sweet and sour sauce. Our spicy basil seafood was spicy, but to everybody's liking. Warning: pretty spicy. The best dish for me was the yellow chicken curry. The curry was so good and had the perfect spice to it. Perfect with white rice. Pineapple fried rice was ok to me but too much unnecessary spices. My brother and gf liked it but it wasn't my fave. We also ordered 3 Thai tea and 1 Thai orange flavor tea. I wouldn't recommend the Thai orange only because it was way too sweet and tangy. We had to add more water to dilute it. We were impressed by the service and food and decided to go again on the second day of our stay in this area.On the first day we had red and green curry and on the second day, we chose fried rice. I was visiting from out of town and decided to try this place out after checking it out on yelp beforehand. The food did not disappoint but I take one stars out for slowness of service (it took a long time before they actually came to take our order, bring us water, bring our food, etc, etc., etc.) My boyfriend and I ordered their pad thai and pumpkin curry. My boyfriend actually liked the pad thai I made better but thought it was fine (it tasted like other pad thais I've had in Thai restaurants whereas the only other pad thai he's had was the one I made for him). He liked the pumpkin curry better. I ordered it with vegetarian duck in it (which I tried for the first time and as I am a fan of vegetarian meat in general I was impressed that they had that option and it does look like duck meat. Between the two of us the amount of food we ordered between the two of us was just right. I also thought the size of the restaurant was also not too big or too small. read more

Zero stars. We never had a chance to try the food!We came in around 7:45pm, had to wait for a little for a table because it looked like there was only one person working the tables and cash register. She had to clean off a table for us. Once we were seated we had to wait a few more minute for her to get us the menus. We waited half-an-hour until she came back to take our order. By this time there was another sever on the floor, but she didn't even look at us. We put in our order and waited for almost an hour with not even our appetizer in sight. Divine Thai is not much better than Sister Thai, also in Grover Beach. as you enter the little restaurant, the first thing noticed is the dated and dusty decor with plastic plants. The whole place smells of grease, although not as bad as Sister Thai. The only redeeming factor was our waitress, a smiling, gentle, young woman wearing a traditional Thai skirt. The food was edible but not much more than that. It was all fried, no fresh summer rolls. We tried the tofu with spinach and peanut sauce. The tofu was yummy but the peanut sauce was thick, clumpy and just congealed on the plate. The pineapple fried rice was good, but not great. We took our left overs but tossed them later when we realized we couldn't go through that eating experience again. Sorry, Divine Thai. If you up your game by deep cleaning the dining room, tossing the plastic plants and curio case, updating the space with some bright colors and gorgeous Thai art, and freshening the menu, you will be perfectly poised to bury your competition. Two days of burgers, pizza, italian and we were craving for some thai food on our babymoon :) And Divine thai delivered more than our expectations. Food was delicious and my favs here are: Tom Yum soup ( extra spicy), chef kept the flavor intact although we asked for more spice ( Kudos for that!), Basil Shrimp beautifully done, Spicy fried rice was also not too spicy yet very tasty. Everything that we ordered there was very tasty and very authentic, and the servers were absolute gem!!! The pad Thai was good, the Tom yam soup was absolute fantastic, the satay were finger lickin good, and the green curry was something that we absolutely cherished! Whenever you guys are in the Grover beach, or Pismo beach or Oceano, make it a point to have dinner here, it's probably the best place around to have Thai food if you crave some! Loved this restaurant. It is a very small place close to the beach, about a 5 minute drive. The food at this restaurant was delicious, I loved the yellow curry and panang curry in particular. Did not try any of their rice or noodles but I am sure they must be really good too. The service at this place was really slow. I guess they had just 1 person who was managing all the tables. So we had to wait for about 25 minutes before someone came to take our order. That is the only complaint I have from this place due to which they will not be getting 5 stars from me!
