    Department of Health report

We noticed that the restaurant was not clean when walking in, and should have walked back out. The food was pretty good, but the service was terrible. When my dad stood up, he had stains on the back of his shirt, which we realized were from the booth. I looked the restaurant up in the SLO County Department of Health website and their cleanliness is an ongoing issue.

We are out-of-towners and were greeted immediately by this sweet lady our hostess & waitress. Highly recommend this beautiful clean place. We had house salad with peanut sauce, Pad thai, yellow curry and garlic chicken, so tasty and delicious. They make you feel welcome

Ate here today and ordered off the lunch menu. I ordered red curry with chicken (L9 on the menu). I received yellow curry instead. First the soup: visually it looked oily. However, that was an illusion. The soup was on the sweet side and it had a flavor I liked. The curry with chicken: perfectly cooked. Chicken was not dry and the veggies were not overcooked. It was a tad spicy for my taste. Ambiance was lacking. My table was next to an outdoor space heater with a Santa sign on it. We were the only people in the restaurant and the waitress guided us to the table. The service was good.

There are many Thai food places to order from in the Five Cities area. We are lucky! (Chinese food... not so lucky). So we seemed to have ordered from each one and Bunn Thai Bistro was the last. The Pad See Ew and Pad Thai were both good. The vegetables were fresh and crisp. Both noodle dishesmaybe could have used a bit more sauce. The chicken satay was delicious, tender and moist. We will be ordering that again for sure! Another appetizer we tried were the money bags. I liked them but my family didn't eat them because of the vegetables inside. The orange chicken had good flavor but for the price this wasn't worth it. As you can see from my photo we were given maybe 10 pieces total. Also, kinda strange to only fill the steamed rice 3/4 full. Why hold out on the rice? We ordered two appetizers and three entrees. Total bill was close to $70 with tip.

Amazing Curry Duck! Always so fresh and family is so friendly. Hard to beat this Thai food at this price anywhere on the Central Coast.

Excellent service. A family restaurant. The food was excellent, price fair. Good place for people with food restrictions. They have gluten free and vegan options. Get plenty of veggies in each meal. Why only 4 stars? Because I would steer away from crab topping. Had that once and it was awful.

I absolutely love how clean their ingredients are here This is the best pad Thai They are closed Wednesday's and on weekends close early that's the only downfall

I went to Bunn Thai for the first time over the weekend for a sit-down lunch and it was delicious! They have a huge menu which was slightly overwhelming if I am being honest. However, that just means that there has to be something for everyone. We got a lot of food... So much that the server had to make sure our order was correct lol. The veggies here were so good and fresh! -1 star because the food was a little too sweet for my liking - Creamy Tom yum goong soup - this was good, kinda sweet -Rad Na - I probably would get Pad see ew instead, this was too sweet -Crab fried rice - DELISH, get this! -Pad prik king - also DELISH, not that spicy.. -Crispy basil Duck - DELISH, get this too! -Beef Pad Thai - pass on this, this was underwhelming - Kaprow talay ( Basil seafood) - get this! Veggies and seafood were so fresh! The service was great, everyone was friendly and the food came out fast!

Chicken curry with a bowl of rice

Service was friendly and attentive. The inside of the restaurant is clean and neat. We also had appetizers but it was eaten before I had the chance to take a picture. That should tell you how yummy the food is here! The pineapple fried rice was flavorful and not too heavy. The curry was spiced to perfection. My boyfriend and I's new favorite Thai place.

You order at the counter and are given a number. Since they weren't very busy, they brought the food to my table, which I appreciated. The prices were on the high side, though fairly typical for many Vietnamese restaurants in California. I ordered the pork platter with rice and fried egg rolls. The portion size was about right. The rice was fine--nothing particularly memorable. The pork was a generous serving and had visible grill marks, but it didn't seem freshly grilled. It appeared to have been grilled previously and then reheated. It was served hot, but the texture and presentation were not what I would expect from freshly grilled meat. Fresh off the grill would have made a noticeable difference. The egg rolls were crispy on the outside, but the filling was dry and fairly unremarkable. They weren't bad, but they weren't a standout item either. The plate also came with iceberg lettuce, sliced tomato, cucumber, and pickled carrot and radish. The cucumber was fine, while the pickled vegetables were a bit more sour than I prefer. The biggest surprise was the dipping sauce for the egg rolls. Instead of the typical Vietnamese dipping sauce, which is usually one of my favorite parts of the meal, this version had quite a bit of chili added and was much spicier than expected. Some people may enjoy that, but it wasn't what I was anticipating. Overall, the meal was good, but not memorable enough to justify going out of my way for it. The prices felt a little high given the fast-food atmosphere. If I happened to be in the area again, I might stop in and give it another try, but I wouldn't make a special trip to return.

The interior has an inviting decor, but seating is limited. There are also outdoor tables along the side the building. The Rock Shoyu Ramen had a good amount of noodles along with three good-sized pieces of pork belly (albeit a bit fatty), pickled fresno peppers & shallots, topped with green onion, an ajitama, umami-rich egg and a sheet of nori. The broth was complex with the duck fat and togarashi; it is noted the broth contains pork, chicken and dasmi. It was excellent. Their Beef Bulgogi Bowl was quite good. It consisted of four char grilled filet mignon skewers (2 pieces per skewer), kimchi, shredded carrots & daikon, pickled red onion, avocado slices, over herbed brown rice and topped with green onions, black sesame seeds, basil and a gochujang glaze. The portion was generous and quite filling. Service was friendly, and our selections were delivered in short order from the kitchen.

I just wished couple of sauces were offered such as eel or teriyaki sauce, ponzu sauce, or spicy mayo sauce on the side. The sauces would have given it the extra life. Now the ramens....complete passes on both. Noodle texture was probably the best thing for both ramens. Both broth was too sweet and it didn't pass for me as a tasty ramen of any sort. Edible...sure, but I wouldn't come back to eat this.
