    Seafood Linguine

My friend and I got dinner at Divino last Friday to celebrate her 30th. It's inside the Glover Hotel with complimentary parking in the garage on promise. The two of us were able to try an appetizer and two of their pasta options. The service was fast and efficient, and the food came out pretty quickly. BUTTERNUT SQUASH SOUP - 14 We each got our own butternut squash since it would've been hard to share. The portion was pretty small. We expected a bright dandelion orange color for the soup, but it was closer to a burnt-orange brown. The flavors were more savory than sweet, containing bits of crispy prosciutto. Not necessarily bad, but we didn't love Divino's version of butternut squash. LINGUINE FRUITTI DI MARE - 28 We noticed there were only two pieces of shrimp in each portion, which is a bit stingy. There were a good amount of other seafood varieties. Overall, the sauce was pretty seafood-forward and flavorful. The texture of the pasta was nicely chewy and picked up the sauce well. This was our favorite out of three, but even then, it wasn't anything special. HOUSE MADE TAGLIATELLE BOLOGNESE - 25 The tagliatelle was a bit to overcooked (~30 secons or so) and it got boring after a few bites. It was rich, but flavors were bland. Overall, this was just OK -- disappointing for a restaurant. Since we were celebrating my friend's birthday, our server brought out a tiramisu for us to share. Lots of layers! It was a bit too sweet for our taste, but we still enjoyed it. Overall, our experience for food was pretty average. It's also pretty pricy and the restaurant isn't metro-accessible, so we're unlikely to return.

I was in DC for a work meeting and our hosts decided to take us here since they had such a great time at last year's dinner. My friend raved about their salad so we definitely had to get that a well as other appetizers to share. The burrata was served with beets which was an unusual pairing but it actually worked well together. The meatballs were delicious and I ended up eating them with the bread. I got the squid ink pasta and that was tasty but I did wish I got what some of the other ladies got. My mocktail was delicious and complemented the dinner. Overall, this was a good experience and would be curious to try the other dishes.

Went on Valentine's Day for dinner and really enjoyed this place! They were obviously busy and so they we're running late, but so was I so it worked out. We had a table for four even though there were only two of us. The had a prefix menu, so we got the seafood plater for two, both had squid ink pasta, and got different desserts. We also both got a saffron-infused tequila drink with lemon, lemon grass, and suze (I don't recall the name of it). Seafood plater: delicious! Oysters, shrimp, caviar crackers, and scallop crudo. Squid ink pasta: Divine! It had calamari, clams and a perfect balance of sauce Strawberry tiramisu: so good! Had fresh strawberries in it and the layers were a perfect balance Drinks: I liked the first one better than the Bellagio, but both were good! Parking was free under the restaurant/hotel, but a little tight. The restaurant is a classic, elegant vibe. Wide range of attire, but many were dressed up for vday. Our server was swamped (to be expected), but did well!

In a word: Yum. I understand this restaurant has been open for about 10 months. What a treasure. We were with a large party on a night there was a party of about 100 in the other dining room. We had a set menu in order to make things easy for our party and the staff. The authentic Italian food is lovely. Plating is very important to the staff. The restaurant is located inside the Glover Hotel. Parking is tricky. The garage entrance is hidden. If you see an Enterprise car return sign, you are at the correct entrance. We were given a garage code from the restaurant. Parking is free at the restaurant. The hotel charges $10.00. We followed the entrance to the spa from the garage and found our way to the restaurant. It is a bit confusing. The bread baskets are okay. The Caprese Salad was good. It is a nice Italian dish. The Baby Assorted Lettuce is much heartier. The Trofie Pesto Pasta was incredible. The sauce could be a milkshake. It was delicious. The tomato sauce is yummy too. It had artichoke in it. Hubby enjoyed the Roasted Chicken. The Squash & Zucchini was fresh and excellent. The Sorbetto was good. The lemon flavor was the best. The Cannoli is better at Il Canale but it is decent. The restaurant is lovely. The servers are nice. When there are large parties, they are stretched thin. The restrooms have cellphone holders in the stalls. I want to return for Tuesday music night. It is worth a visit. Customers can purchase authentic Italian food items (sauce, olive oil, pasta, etc). Happy hour is 4-6pm every day.

Summer Restaurant Week Review First, I'd like to give special acknowledgment to the staff: Ana, our incredible waitress did a great job supporting us while managing other tables. She was kind, offered great recommendations, and had a good sense of social media trends tied to the restaurant favorites. Love that! Also, special mention to Stephen who assisted in bringing out our dishes and preparing our cocktails! The staff worked really hard. Thank you! We decided to put this restaurant on our list as the first place we'd visit for Restaurant Week. A beautiful location in Glover Park, this restaurant has an outdoor bar, offers happy hour until 6pm, early morning brunch on the weekday, and brunch on the weekends. They opened their doors in November 2024 and this place simply needs more support because their food and cocktails are INCREDIBLE! Let's dive in! Cocktails: Divino spritzer: this is a summer win! The fresh fruits, prosecco, and flavors were everything that you need to imagine being on the beach with the sun shining and a refreshing drink in hand, truly enjoyable. Truffle Vesper: have you ever had truffle infused vodka and gin? Well, not only did you taste it in every sip, but the aroma whisked you away. It was fantastic! Starters: We selected the Heirloom Tomatoes Salad: best described as a trip to Nana's garden. A place where you could smell all of the fresh herbs as they lingered throughout the air. These tomatoes were juicy and they were complimented by fresh basil, a delicious and creamy whipped ricotta, a side of fresh corn, and drizzled with a balsamic vinaigrette. A perfect way to tease my tastebuds. Second: For our main dish, I ordered the Filetto di Branzino and my love ordered the Chicken Milanese. The Branzino was prepared with love!!!! It was so delectable and paired with the most appetizing cauliflower puree and broccolini. All prepared just right, this meal was filling and enticing because the flavors blended together well. My boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed his chicken Milanese. The chicken was tender and oozing with flavor and the salad had a perfect combination of fresh thinly sliced vegetables bathed in a tangy dressing. It was amazing! Lastly: After such a filing first and second course, we pushed our way through dessert and I'm glad that we did. The Mango Pannacotta was described as the BEST my boyfriend has ever had. A first for me, and one I can describe as a journey through flavor valley: the rich passion fruit rum caramel, and the delicious filling and crust-pure perfection!!!!!!! We also had the tiramisu which was simply delightful and satisfying. Highly recommended as well. Overall, we had an AMAZING time and the food, cocktails, and desserts were well worth every moment. The chef is skilled in what they do and it shows through the savory dishes which came to the table. I'll be back!!!!!!

Went here for date night and as other reviewers mentioned, the actual restaurant is in a small hotel on Wisconsin Avenue. They also have an outdoor section that looked really cute and happening, but it was too hot that day to sit outside. The inside restaurant is very pretty and was pretty empty for a Saturday night. The service was a bit slow to get started and we ordered two cocktails and both were good although mine was a bit on the sweet side (gin/prosecco one). We started with the burrata and it was very good and served with beets. I had the sea bass for dinner and it was small but beautifully presented and very good. My hubby had the eggplant dish and said it was average. We ended with the chocolate and mango Panna cotta and it was just ok. In my opinion, those 2 flavors don't go well together. Overall, it was a beautiful setting with above average food but room for improvement. Would be fun with friends for an elevated night out.

All I can say is "WOW." If you've never been you have to check them out!! I was blown away by the ambiance, the food and the service. Everything was 10/10. A great spot for a date, dinner with a friend, or even a solo date. The vibe is very chic, upscale and elegant. It was a Friday evening and it was pretty empty but I hope this review will help get them the customers they deserve. There is free parking in the garage (to the right on the steep ramp that says "enterprise only," make sure to get the code) and it's very easy to find the restaurant. Great location! Our server was super attentive and gave great recommendations. I had an appetizer, an entree and a dessert. I got the Capesante with asparagus and mashed potatoes with prosciutto, and my date got the tagliatelle. I also got the sorbet and they gave us a complimentary drink. We had the meatballs and the focaccia bread. You can't go wrong with anything you get, I'm convinced. The scallops and mashed potatoes were seasoned so well!! I only wish I could have 3 more plates of their amazing food. I didn't want to leave this place and that's really saying something!! Highly, highly recommend!!

I had been dying to check out Divino in Georgetown, especially since they've been advertising live jazz music for the past three weeks. I had the opportunity to visit yesterday and I still can't get over how wonderful the experience was. The live jazz music starts at 7:30 PM on Tuesdays and goes until 10:30 PM. It's such a refreshing find--a place in Georgetown where parking is easy! It's closer to the residential side of Georgetown, yet it's in a lovely and convenient location within a hotel. Divino offers outdoor seating, bar seating, and a dining area. While their menu features plenty of pasta-focused dishes, Bronzino, and steak, I was primarily there for the bar and the music. However, I did get the opportunity to try the focaccia, tiramisu, and chocolate mousse. The standout winner was definitely the chocolate mousse with strawberries--absolutely divino ! I also sampled the bartender's choice of red wine, which was phenomenal. As a gin and tonic enthusiast, I was thrilled when the bartender made me an incredibly refreshing gin and tonic. The guests at Divino are very social, business-focused, and kind, and the staff was absolutely attentive and amazing. I can't wait to visit again and try more of the menu!

Decent Italian place with a nice atmosphere and attentive staff. While I think there are better Italian places in DC at this price point, I really enjoyed the more relaxed atmosphere at Divino. It's a cute spot and I definitely want to return when the weather cools down to enjoy their outdoor patio!

This place is a bit far up glover park in a hotel bar. When we went, there weren't many people there but that's to be expected since we went when people are most likely out of town. The space is wonderful. We had a nice quiet dinner and some wonderful food. We had the pre fixe menu. I had the soup and had a cheesecake. My friend had the salad and espresso martini tiramisu. We both had the spaghetti. We didn't love the appetizers or dessert. We loved the spaghetti. I would definitely come back again to try the other pastas and burger also!

If you're looking for classic, high end Italian, Divino is the place. We came here for their special Seven Pastas Christmas Eve dinner and it was amazing!! Every pasta dish was even better than the last. My favorite was the stuffed agnolotti, which I'd never had anywhere else before. The amaro old fashioned - delicious. All of the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is nice without being pretentious. I absolutely plan on coming back here!

Went to Divino for Sunday lunch with friends. Food was excellent but even better was the service from Federico. He explained the menu, made recommendations, and added a personable touch. Would definitely recommend Divino!

Also had the octopus pepper gilda thing. Our server, think his name was Hunter, said that was the most popular main. It was very delicious, rich but not overly so. The martini was nice and came with a side car. Great presentation. When my friend saw the martini she said this makes me feel like i know how to live. Barcelona was okay but has room for improvement…read more I checked out the menu and other Yelp reviews before visiting. Many of the reviews mentioned the loud music, tightly packed tables, and lukewarm food, which is exactly what I experienced. I don't want to feel like I'm in a club, watch servers barely squeak by my table, or eat room temp food. We visited on Sunday night for a 6 PM reservation. The place was busy but not full, and got a little busier by the time we left around 7:15 PM. There was a small line at the host stand, but people were quickly seated. The host initially took us to a two-top next to a four-top that had a baby in a high chair and some kids books/toys nudging into our table space. We politely asked for a different table, which the host accommodated, but we shouldn't have to ask; they should give guests more space proactively. Our waiter was not particularly friendly or helpful. He asked us about allergies, but did not offer to explain the menu, make recommendations, or anything else. I overheard the waiter at the table next to us telling his table all about the menu and warning them to order any large dishes early, because they can take up to 45 minutes to prepare. We got no such advice; thankfully, we didn't plan to get any large dishes. I do appreciate that the food pacing was pretty good, all the dishes came out quickly and were cleared quickly, and our waiter offered us another piece of bread later (for a dish that only came with one piece and should have come with two...). We got a pitcher of red sangria ($38) which was 4 glasses worth. The sangria tasted fine but was very generic; nothing special, not much fruit, lots of ice. The server who poured it for us did it in a very noisy, distracting way -- shaking it a lot to get the ice to settle, struggling to balance the amount of ice in each glass, spilling some ice on the floor. It was unpleasant and almost comical. We tried eight different tapas dishes: Eggplant Caponata ($7.5), Rainbow Carrots ($8.5), Whipped Sheep's Cheese ($8.5), Cauliflower ($9.5), Grilled Chicken Thigh ($10.5), Bacon-Wrapped Dates ($8.5), Jamon and Manchego Croquetas ($7.5, four pieces), and Lamb Merguez ($10.5). Everything was pretty good. The best dishes were the Sheep's Cheese and Chicken Thigh. The cheese was a nice portion and worked well with the honey. It only came with one piece of bread and should have come with two. Also, although the bread had grill marks on it, it was not warm at all, barely room temperature. The chicken was excellent all around -- tender, salty, spicy, with a very nice green sauce. All the other dishes were ok but had room to improve. The croquetas -- which I love in any form -- had a nice, crunchy exterior and a soft interior that reminded me of mashed potatoes. I wouldn't say they tasted particularly like jamon and manchego, though. The bacon-wrapped dates -- also a favorite dish -- were fine if a bit sweet; the blue cheese on the plate cut this a bit, but I wanted more flavor from the bacon, which was lost against the sweetness of the date. The carrots looked pretty but had different levels of doneness -- some softer or harder than others -- and I wanted more flavor from the sauce. The lamb merguez came with fava hummus and both tasted bland. The eggplant did not have a uniform heat level -- some pieces hot, some room temp -- and I disliked the sauce, which reminded me of sweet BBQ sauce in a negative way. The cauliflower was underwhelming; the sauce needed to be punchier and the dish needed another ingredient, like a few crunchy nuts. I would like to see the restaurant turn down the music, give diners more space, and tweak many of the dishes. It was an okay meal but I wouldn't return.

I enjoyed my drink and it was the perfect bar for catching up with a friend. I'll definitely think about trying the food next time however, like the drinks, it's very expensive for "bar food" and an automatic 20% fee is added to every check regardless of your party size. The music gets louder later into the night and the crowd seems to be more in the mood to dance so just keep that in mind when deciding on what time to go! Overall if you're in the area Le mont royal is worth stopping by.

I was very excited about the French-Canadian, always-changing menu. Physical Exam: Taste - The Prime Rib Sando was a preemo sandwich of balanced cheese and meat between two slices of toasty sourdough. The Cheeseburger Americain was a standard 3.5 out of 5 American cheeseburger that beats the average suburban chain restaurant burger with its double patty and sesame bun, but isn't gonna knock your socks off like a steakhouse burger. The poutine kept my socks on too (I was particularly excited about the poutine and ended up a tad underwhelmed). The biggest disappointment was the mozzarella sticks, which...... I'll just get to in the service part. Cocktails were mid. All interesting concepts, but most missed the mark. the Polar Express was a little too sweet, I forgot what the name of the riff on an old fashioned or Manhattan I had but that was okay, and the Fleur de Citron tasted like when you ask for a Sprite and they ask, "Is Sierra Mist (now Starry) okay?" and you reply, "yeah that's fine," but then what you get is actually a flat 7-Up. Ambiance - This place runs on vibes like America runs on Dunkin'. Live DJ, neon lights, feels like a place you wanna eat a little, dance a little, drink a little. Fun place. Tanked by the service. Skip to the Assessment/Plan if you don't want to read this novella retelling of our evening. Service - Relatively early for the dinner service, we were the largest and one of only a few tables in the restaurant. I counted 3 other tables seated (small parties of less than 4 each) and a few patrons at the bar. It took about 20 minutes before we first got our menus and the guy who handed them to us didn't say a word just dropped them off. Then it took another 20 minutes before he came back to get our drink orders, and 1) seemed like he was having a bad day, which... fine, but 2) was rolling his eyes when some of us were a little between some options and wanted a recommendation, which... alright my guy let's chill. We weren't talking loud, we weren't drinking before and being obnoxious, we just wanted to ask about what some of the drinks were like on a very cool menu of cocktails we haven't tried anywhere else. Upon returning with our drinks, he accidentally spilled a not insignificant amount on my friend sitting across from me, and while we reacted and started handing him extra napkins, he just glanced at him, finished giving out the drinks, and walked away. No "oops", "my bad", "oh let me get you some paper towels", nothing. So at this point, we're all staring at each other like "Did we do something? Do we smell?" Whatever, friend's birthday, we've been talking about this cabin weekend for several years and it's finally happening, let's just vibe. Now another 20 minutes went by and we were getting antsy because we wanted to order our food but it looked like there wasn't a lot of staff, and we didn't want to upset anyone by hurrying them. Another man came over who we thought was going to take our orders. Nope. He starts picking up our menus so I say, "Oh, hey we haven't ordered yet." To which he replies, "OK, but I need the menus." Alright cool, yeah, that makes sense if he needed them for other tables and can leave us with a few to share. Nope. He just took them and placed them back at the host stand. Awkward stares across the table again. Whatever, we had enough, I guess. Tick tock, tick tock. A third guy came over, and when he smiled and asked, "Hi are you all ready to order?" I was like "Oh finally a human being!" Food took another 20-ish minutes while we nursed our drinks and really had no interest in ordering another round (not that anyone asked us). We ate. We chatted. We had an okay time. We were super ready to get out of there. Oh right, the mozz sticks. Le Mont'zarella sticks. They had one order left of four sticks for $18. We were one of the first diners. You can imagine after all the above, that's just a major facepalm emoji. Assessment/Plan: Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God pray for Le Mont Royal to improve their service, now and at the hour of ASAP, because the place has so much potential, and maybe it was just an off night, or the staff just finished arguing with each other in the back so they took it out on us, but dearly beloved Lord it was like we offended nine generations of their ancestry from the moment we walked in. With "a 22% service charge has been added for your convenience," I thought we were getting Punk'd. The always-changing French-Canadian menu is a cool and unique concept, but it's a lot of bark with very little bite. It didn't make the disappointing service worth it. I was already impressed by the weekend happy hour deals. I started with the Aromatic whites wine flight (great pours for $12!!). All 3 wines were delicious and the bartender, Fabio was the best and very engaging throughout my time at the bar. I had the beef tartare and it was the best I've ever had! I then ordered a glass of the Domain du Somail Red Blend paired with the steak frites, which was the best pairing. I was stuffed but decided to get the crème brulee, which you could never go wrong with. It was the best CB I've had in a while. I will definitely be back for restaurant week or just an impromptu happy hour.

We came here with a few friends for an early dinner, making reservations in advance. Once seated, we decided to order some starters to share: +the Warm Pistachio Crusted Goat Cheese Ball - with honey and red wine caramelized onions +Chicken Liver Mousse - with white wine gelee, apricot, pickled veggies, and an onion marmalade +Baked Camembert de Normandie - with confit garlic, thyme, and honey +and, an Onion Soup for the hubs - prepared with beef broth, croutons, and Gruyere For our entrees, I went for the Steak-Frites, which came with a hanger steak and shallot sauce; you can sub the usual fries with truffle fries, which I recommend! My counterparts enjoyed their Long Island Duck Breakfast (with seared asparagus, cumin carrot puree, cippolini onions, and port sauce), the Maryland Rockfish (with artichoke barigoule, carrots, brasied fennel, and noilly prat sauce), and the Local Roasted Chicken (with English peas, carrots, baby potatoes, and truffle jus). If you want to sop up your sauce with bread, don't forget to order the breadbasket! Staff were friendly and checked-in on our party throughout our dining experience; the place is cozy and vibrant, and seems to be pretty popular. I'd be curious to try their HH on the next visit! +French bistro eats +shareables +friendly staff & service
